WORD All glory to him forever and ever! Amen. Hebrews 13:21 THOUGHT Glory itself, in substance and character, exists in and is best reserved for honoring God alone. The word glory, according to Merriam-Webster Dictionary, means “praise, honor, or distinction” and “worshipful praise, honor, and thanksgiving.”28 All glory is owed to God because glory’s essence is praise, honor, and thanksgiving. The act of glorifying has no higher goal or more noble purpose than to honor the Divine One. As the redeemed people of God, we can join with all of creation, worshiping and glorifying him with all of our being. Let us set aside our false idols, the celebrities of our culture, and our personal pursuits in favor of honoring him in all that we do and giving him our whole heart. We should gladly, eagerly even, give glory to God alone, as God alone is worthy enough to receive worship forever! Glory itself is a deep, mystical, and treasured gift originating from God for those created by God to use as a vehicle to magnify and honor him all of our days.
