We were forgiven, and—on top of that gift—the Lord then bestowed unfathomable blessings upon us: the one we offended and betrayed adopted us into his very household, his eternal kingdom, and made us his joint heirs.

WORD ...but when the right time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, subject to the law. God sent him to buy freedom for us who were slaves to the law, so that he could adopt us as his very own children. And because we are his children, God has sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, prompting us to call out, “Abba, Father.” Now you are no longer a slave but God’s own child. And since you are his child, God has made you his heir. Galatians 4:4–7 THOUGHT An instrument to measure the love and compassion of our heavenly Father’s heart does not exist. However, the evidence exists, and it’s found in the work of Christ on the cross and in each of his adopted sons and daughters. We were slaves once, condemned to the darkness of sin, but we’ve been liberated through the redemptive power of God’s Son, Jesus Christ. We were guilty of every accusation—yet exonerated and freed by the love, mercy, and sacrifice of the faultless Lamb. We were forgiven, and—on top of that gift—the Lord then bestowed unfathomable blessings upon us: the one we offended and betrayed adopted us into his very household, his eternal kingdom, and made us his joint heirs. PRAYER I worship you, Father, for you are worthy of worship. I love you and am grateful for the gift of your mercy. Amen. Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy.
