WORD Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things. 1 Chronicles 29:11 THOUGHT The word dominion is difficult to understand, as it implies the presence of unrestrained dominance. The existence of a governor of supreme ownership, one of complete and unchangeable control, an unstoppable, unavoidable, timeless, immovable force, and beyond any human effort or combined efforts to overpower, remove, or escape. This divine being is sovereign God. The Lord has all dominion, and were God’s character tyrannical in nature, this truth would produce a horrid and frightening state within all the subjects under him. However, this is not how he rules or is known. While certainly he is holy and righteous and expects those who follow him to be of similar caliber by the help of Christ, he is known by his immeasurable love and redemptive heart. From first breath to the newness of life in Christ, from death here on earth to our welcoming into his eternal presence, his kingdom and dominion have no end. And we get the privilege to live as God’s sons and daughters in his dominion forever—amazing, simply amazing! PRAYER Lord, you rule and reign through all eternity and your dominion is forever. Yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory. Amen. For yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.
