WORD The Lord is king! Let the earth rejoice! Let the farthest coastlands be glad. Psalm 97:1 THOUGHT On this eve of a new year, hundreds of millions of people will gather to celebrate. In Times Square of New York City alone, over a million will gather to rejoice over the coming year with hopeful prospects. What the future holds will remain unclear to all but one: Yahweh, the one true God. The redeemed of Christ rejoice in knowing he holds all time in his hands—we can find hope and rest knowing he is at the helm and that he is our perfect Father. We know his kingdom will come and his will will be done. All he has desired and all he has promised shall come to pass, and nothing will prevent him from accomplishing his goal. As we prepare ourselves for the coming year, let us set our minds on the things most noble, honorable, and eternal, and pursue them. This is a good time to remember that the Lord is king and we were created by God and for God. He is all we need. He is our Father, Savior, Lord, and Friend—forever! PRAYER I am yours, my Lord and King. You are all I will ever need. I will rejoice in you forever! Amen. Our Father in heaven, may your name be kept holy
