You’ll sometimes hear us say that an episode is a little bit different from the norm but this one really is, as we chat with the father of Bas de Leede, the Dutch all-rounder and one of the Vipers’ new recruits for season two.

It’s no exaggeration to say that Tim de Leede is a Dutch cricketing legend. A batting all-rounder, he played in every match of the Netherlands’ first four appearances in major ICC events – the Cricket World Cups in 1996, 2003 and 2007, and the Champions Trophy in 2002.

Now retired, he has been followed into cricket by not only his son Bas, but also his niece Babette, who’s captained the Dutch women’s team.

So, we decided to have a chat with Tim about Bas’s background and how his son has risen to become one of the most exciting young all-rounders in world cricket today.
