Papa Tango Sierra Delta
Episode 17: I’m Not My Trauma
Show Notes

On February 7, 1992, as a 19 year old Navy recruit, she was raped in barracks. She was then charged & dismissed from the military.

On May 25, 1998, she was on the cover of Maclean’s magazine to share her story.

Her brutal assault was then buried until 16 years later, when another victim spoke out about being raped while serving. That’s when the walls finally started to crumble.

Dawn McIlmoyle joins the show to speak about life after her traumatic incident, how it completely changed her path, further trauma endured throughout adulthood, and the process of not being her trauma, but instead being defined by overcoming her trauma.
