Happy Birthday Intro
Speaker 1In a world where everything is unscripted.
Speaker 2This is Roasty, toasty, ghosty. Are we gonna do this?
Speaker 1I don't know, are we? I think so.
Speaker 2I need a yes or a no, because I think you know my answer. I need your answer.
Speaker 1You're the birthday child.
Speaker 2Child. Did we do chairs or did we just drink chairs?
Speaker 1Chairs.
Speaker 2I don't remember what we did today.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Two minutes ago, or even like four minutes ago.
Speaker 1Yeah, Possibly, I don't know.
Speaker 2Well, now we did. So that's okay, wait, I'm 32. That was bad news, yeah. I so that's okay, wait, I'm 32. That was bad news. Yeah, I didn't like that.
Speaker 1Why did you tell me that I?
Speaker 2haven't. Yeah, you did. You said yeah, I didn't like that part Ow.
Speaker 1Do you want me to start A?
Speaker 2paper cut.
Speaker 3That's never fun.
Speaker 2Should we open this up first and then try? Yeah, all right, I might just unscrew in this one. Yeah, unscrew that, ooh, tequila. Tequila, this is going to be a fun episode. Yeah, let's try this again. Yeah.
Speaker 3Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Lauren and.
Speaker 1I'm Matias.
Speaker 2And we're going to be your besties for the next hour or so.
Speaker 1Yeah, this is cool.
Speaker 2It is cool.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Oh no, I came back.
Speaker 1Oh no, All right, Maybe. Yeah, I'm coming back too.
Speaker 3Okay, hi, matias, hello, how are you doing?
Speaker 1I'm good.
Speaker 2Good, did you know? Few people know zits, but this is like the bestest podcast ever.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2You know why.
Speaker 1No, I don't know why.
Speaker 3Wait hold on Because it's my birthday. We have some sips, we're drinking pink tequila.
Speaker 1Oh no, what Are you like?
Speaker 2five I'm 32.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2Cheers to my birthday.
Speaker 3Yes, cheers, cheers.
Speaker 1Cheers me Bam Bam.
Speaker 2This is my birthday episode it is. So we are drinking pink tequila.
Speaker 1Yes, we are.
Speaker 2And we also found this helium. What is it a can.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't know. Wait, there's a word for it.
Speaker 2There is yeah Tank. Yeah, because it looks like a propane tank, like or.
Speaker 1Yeah, propane. Yeah, that's true. Maybe a tank, maybe I'm thinking about the Swedish word for it.
Speaker 2What's the Swedish word? Like a gas tube, it's a tank. Maybe I'm thinking about the.
Speaker 1Swedish word for it. What's the Swedish word? Like a gas tube. It's a tube, it's a tube.
Speaker 2Well, either way, we found helium, yeah, and so we'll probably be playing with it throughout the episode.
Speaker 1Yeah, maybe we will so today we're drunk and high. Drunk and high.
Speaker 2Interesting. All right, Would you like to go ahead and talk about the week then?
Speaker 1I guess we can do that.
Speaker 2All right.
Speaker 1What happened this week? What happened on Saturday?
Speaker 2That's a question.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm, it is Mm-hmm and we're going to try to answer that question.
Speaker 2Yeah, Well, last week did we go live.
Speaker 1We grilled? No, we didn't. Yes, we did.
Speaker 2Oh, we grilled at my place.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, we grilled at my place and then we went live.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2For the Mad Libs.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, but we ate a lot.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, so much.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1We didn't just grill, we also got like desserts.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, we had a. Well, it was supposed to be a get together with all the tenants in the building, but only one of them showed up.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2So, and she baked.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And it was really good.
Speaker 1Yeah, it was nice.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was nice. The weather wasn't amazing.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2But it just looked not great.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean it was cloudy and windy.
Speaker 2Yeah, just looked not great. Yeah, I mean it was cloudy and windy, yeah, but it wasn't really that bad.
Speaker 1No, I mean, it wasn't raining, no, so it was good, it was good.
Speaker 2And we went live.
Speaker 1We did.
Speaker 2And we'd like to thank the people who joined us for that. Yeah, it was pretty fun. We had some visitors.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And that was interesting.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And then on Sunday we went for a walk. We did, and then we had Fika.
Speaker 1We had Fika. Yeah, mm-hmm.
Speaker 2What did I do after that?
Speaker 1Did you go home? I think so yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, that was pretty much it. We grilled some more, we had some burgers.
Speaker 3Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2That was it that was that. Did you write for the week? No, no, I'm sorry, okay.
Speaker 1I didn't have an exciting week.
Speaker 2Okay, no, I feel like I had quite a bit this week, though.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, it feels like you have more time than I do.
Weekly Recap: Grilling and Live Event
Speaker 2Yeah, on Monday my youngest sick child. He had his summer celebration like the last day of his daycare, so we were supposed to go outside, but we ended up going to the gymnastics hall, yeah, and we had Fika there and the kids played around and they were using the gymnastics equipment. So I automatically started uh, spotting gymnastics. Yeah, it was like this wasn't the point in coming here, but okay.
Speaker 1I mean as you do.
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean they took out equipment that kids can't really use by themselves. So I'm not really sure what they were thinking, but yeah, that's what happened. I also had a gymnastics meeting that evening that I didn't know about until like nine minutes after it started, so that's cool. What did you do on Monday?
Speaker 1I went to work.
Speaker 3Oh, okay.
Speaker 1Didn't have the greatest day. You know headaches and stuff. So no, it could have been better.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Tuesday.
Speaker 2I didn't really do that much. I wasn't very productive that day, no, okay. So yeah, tuesday was not much. I wasn't very productive that day, okay. So yeah, tuesday was not much.
Speaker 1No, I mean, I think it's the same for me actually.
Speaker 2On Wednesday my oldest had a class trip to Grönland, an amusement park in Stockholm.
Speaker 1Yeah, we've been there.
Speaker 2We have, and I mean it was okay, it wasn't amazing.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2It wasn't what I expected exactly.
Speaker 1The weather wasn't perfect.
Speaker 2We got rained on, on and off and so I got wet and then, when it wasn't raining, it started getting a bit warm or like humid, so I'd start sweating. Yeah't, raining it started getting a bit warm or like humid, so I'd start sweating, yeah. Then it started raining again and so, yeah, it wasn't great and I was originally started to be in my oldest group like their chaperone, but they switched me with someone else last minute which kind of annoyed me, and they wouldn't switch me back. I didn't like not being the switcheroo.
Speaker 2Yeah, exactly, I didn't like the switch and on the bus you couldn't even really see out the windows. They were very tinted.
Speaker 1Oh, okay.
Speaker 2We rode in one of those Idol buses.
Speaker 1Really For like.
Speaker 2Swedish Idol.
Speaker 1It said Idol.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was the idle bus, oh cool. So it had like the idle logo over the windows and couldn't really see out the windows okay, it was really boring, maybe not that cool no, it wasn't that cool. I mean, from the outside it looks cool yeah but, and the inside is like okay could be better yeah, so yeah, I was kind of bored on the bus.
Speaker 2I didn't really bring anything to do other than my phone, but I didn't want to use up all my battery, so yeah, and we got to roam around stockholm for like an hour in the older area of Stockholm with our groups, and I guess my group was okay. I had two boys who just wanted to run around and mess with each other the whole time, and then I had one cooperative boy and a very chill boy. Then we went to a museum with history.
Speaker 1Oh.
Speaker 2And we wandered around in there and then we walked to Grenadines.
Speaker 3Mm.
Speaker 2And I swear the second, that everyone was allowed to run around. They just disappeared.
Speaker 3Oh.
Speaker 2It was like one second they were there and then they just they were all gone, mm. So I just kind of stood there for a minute. I was like, what do I do now? Like where'd everyone go? I just kind of stood there for a minute. I was like, what do I do now? Like where'd everyone go? I was kind of confused and so I just started walking around the park. I did a few laps and I might have had a drink.
Speaker 1Oh, why?
Speaker 2Because I didn't know what to do. And then I went on a couple of rides by myself and I mean I guess it was okay, but my oldest found me every now and then and we did some things together and then he ran off. Oh yeah, I mean I guess it was all right. Um, then we went home. Okay, I watched a little bit of the show that the live band that was playing just a few songs. They were okay what, what band?
Speaker 2graveyard oh, okay yeah, no, I didn't really know them either, but they're swedish and they were like, uh, like rock but blues and kind of heavy, but very heavy on the blues part heavy block heavy block blues rock yeah, yeah, I'd say that they were a brick and that was pretty much it Blues part. Heavy block, heavy block, blues rock.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, I'd say that they were a brick and that was pretty much it. That's what happened on Wednesday. Yeah, yeah, not much happened in my world.
Speaker 2Yesterday was Thursday, yeah yeah, I didn't see you all week, until today.
Speaker 1True.
Speaker 2Right, Yesterday was Thursday and what did I do? I'm not functioning.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Oh, the big kids had their last day of school.
Speaker 1Oh yeah.
Speaker 2So I watched them do their little ceremony thing and then I went to get my hair fixed. I got it colored and styled, trimmed a bit, so it's looking fresher.
Speaker 1Fresher.
Speaker 2Fresher and my life partner and I and sick child we went to the beach for the first time this year just to I don't know hang out. It wasn't super warm either. It was a bit windy, but he went out into the water and he took a dip and I think he regretted it because it was really cold. But yeah, it just hung out there, didn't do much and that was it.
Speaker 1That was yesterday.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1I got a theme over here, so I didn't do much yesterday.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1That's my theme.
Speaker 2All right Most weeks, and today is Friday. Yeah, june 13th.
Speaker 1Friday, the 13th.
Speaker 2That's right, and it's my birthday, yep it is. So I got pancakes for breakfast.
Speaker 1Cool.
Speaker 2And it's kind of funny. I got pancakes for breakfast and it's kind of funny. My life partner put a candle in one of the pancakes and the pancakes were still really warm, so the candle melted inside the pancakes. Oh that was interesting. I mean, we just cut away the waxy parts. Yeah but it was kind of funny. And what else do we do? This was today and I don't know what we did.
Speaker 1You said you ate the entire day.
Speaker 2I have been eating all day. Yeah, we had pancakes, and then I played with Sick Child a bit, and then we I don't know what we did- you had lunch with me. Yeah, I know that we had lunch. We did have lunch.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And then and it was nice, but well, not. But my life partner and my daughter and sick child joined us yeah, this time. And then we brought you back to work.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2And then we did some grocery shopping and my life partner was feeling kind of spontaneous, so we went to a different like beach, or it was a camping area where you could go swimming. Okay, but we weren't prepared to go swimming, so we just hung out on the beach. It was really warm today.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Really warm. But then we went to a cafe and had some ice cream. That was really nice. And then we came home and I had to chill. Yeah, I needed to relax for a bit. I get it, and then I came and picked you up from work. Yeah, and I brought you home with me.
Speaker 1Yeah, and we ate.
Speaker 2We did eat. We had breakfast bagels or sandwiches on bagels.
Speaker 1For dinner For dinner.
Speaker 2Yeah, it was a bacon, egg and cheese on a bagel.
Speaker 1Yeah, and then we had a lot of snacks.
Speaker 2We did have a lot of snacks. We also watched movies.
Speaker 1Yeah, we did.
Speaker 2Would you like to?
Speaker 3movie on let's movie on All right.
Speaker 2Let's do that then. Okay, so tonight we watched Three Musketeers.
Speaker 3Yes.
Speaker 2And Soon as Summer.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, but I'm going to tell you about Three Musketeers. Okay, okay.
Speaker 1Okay, okay, okay Okay. Do they have gas? That makes your voice deeper.
Speaker 2I don't know Um, I'd call that a cold.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't know if that's a gas. No, I guess not?
Speaker 2Uh, so Three Musketeers.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Is a movie with Tim Curry. Yeah, it also has Charlie Sheen.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And Kiefer Sutherland.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, and another guy, another guy.
Speaker 1Oliver Platt.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1And Chris O'Donnell.
Speaker 2Right.
Speaker 1And Michael Wincott.
Speaker 2Oh, okay.
Speaker 1There's some people.
Speaker 2There's people in this movie, yeah. So basically, Tim Curry is a bad guy and he wants to kill the king.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And then Charlie Sheen and all these people. They are musketeers and they want to save the king, yeah, and they beat up bad guys.
Speaker 1Yes, the end True.
Speaker 2How was that accurate?
Speaker 1good so what did you think about this movie?
Speaker 2I like this movie more than I thought I would okay because I do like tim curry quite a bit yeah, I never watched this movie because I judged it.
Speaker 3Why.
Speaker 2Because it's like an old, it's set in old times.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And I just didn't think that would be very interesting. Okay, so that's it. So, like whenever it was in front of me, I just said, nah, I'll take something else, okay, but I did watch it today. Yeah, finally.
Speaker 1And I did enjoy it today.
Speaker 2Yeah, finally, and I did enjoy it. Good, it was a good movie. It's from 93.
Speaker 1It is.
Speaker 2Which is my year.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2What did you think about it?
Speaker 1I love this movie.
Speaker 2Good.
Speaker 1I think it's Okay. So I haven't seen all the um versions of this story, but all the versions I've seen. This is my favorite of the three musketeers.
Speaker 2I think I've only seen the Mickey Mouse version.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2I've also eaten the candy bars.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 3A lot of them.
Speaker 1Do you like the Mickey Mouse version?
Speaker 2I don't remember.
Speaker 1Okay, I don't think I've seen the entire thing maybe I have? I'm not sure I don't know, uh, but I I have seen another version from 2011 and that's that one I'm not a big fan of, because it kind of ends on a cliffhanger like it's gonna be an be a sequel to it and it never did never okay, but this one it has, of course, great characters, because I I mean it's a classic story, um, and it has fun.
Speaker 1It's it's a fun movie. It has has jokes and it has sword fighting and it has good villains, bad guys. I like both of them. I really like this one. I'm like you, I'm not that interested in older timey movies. That's set in the 1600s, right, but it's still. I still really like this one and I bought the dvd from your ex that's right yeah yeah, that's a fact anything else, no, that's.
Speaker 1I think that's enough okay next, next, soon, next, sune, sommar. This movie is about a Swedish family planning on going to Greece for the summer, but there's an incident that makes the dad realize that they can't afford to go, so he decides they should go camping instead. And yeah, I mean, things are happening and it's a really silly movie.
Speaker 2And Sune meets a girl.
Speaker 1Yeah, Sune is like a chaser.
Speaker 2He's a girl chaser.
Speaker 1Yeah, girl, yeah, that's it, he's chasing a girl. Yeah, he's a boy.
Speaker 2He is a boy chasing a girl.
Speaker 1Yes, so yeah, it's a chase movie Not really, but in a way, but it's really funny. What are your feelings about this movie?
Speaker 2I love this movie. This is, I feel, like a classic movie.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2It's also from 93?.
Speaker 1Yeah, which is my year. Yeah, that's a coincidence that both of the movies are from 93.
Speaker 2Strange, how that happened.
Speaker 1It's like on my birthday. Both of the movies were from 91.
Speaker 2So weird, yeah. But yeah, it's a really funny movie, yes.
Speaker 1I think it might be like the funniest Swedish movie.
Speaker 2I don't know Ever, I don't know.
Speaker 1At least one of them. Say one Swedish movie that's funnier than this one, I dare you okay, uh, I know that the train one was really funny yeah, which one was that? Right that one is that funnier than this one?
Speaker 2I want to say it was really funny yeah I don't know funnier if it was funnier, but it was really funny yeah, I mean I'm, I'm agreeing with you, I'm, uh, I hold both of those as like top funniest swedish movies also another movie that we haven't seen together yet, but and I haven't seen it in a really long time, so I could be wrong, but based off of my memory it was really funny. That was that one.
Speaker 1We had the Alphaltoom of Eddards Right.
Speaker 2See, you knew it and I didn't even have to say it.
Speaker 1No, we're going to see it in a couple of weeks yeah, but if I'm recalling correctly, it was also really funny yeah, I haven't seen that one in so many years?
Speaker 2yeah, me neither so yeah it's got to have been at least like nine or ten years now yeah, I mean it feels. And I hold Desisterise it pretty high too.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's right. That's also a really funny movie.
Speaker 2Not that I'm trying to prove you wrong or anything.
Speaker 1No, no, no, it just came up, yeah, but I mean, they're all really, really funny movies. I feel like this is like Okay, I mean, that doesn't. And also, salskop Sereriasan is really funny.
Speaker 3Oh yeah.
Speaker 1Those movies, but I feel like Sune is on another level, for me at least. Yeah, that's. I think I still stand with that. This is probably one of the funniest Swedish movies ever.
Speaker 2You may be right.
Speaker 1Yeah, I have a question have you seen Julkalender Soon as Jul.
Speaker 2No, no, my kids probably have, but I haven't yeah but this is a sequel. Okay, yeah, maybe actually, but I don't.
Speaker 1Because that one was the Julkalender 91.
Speaker 2Okay, my year yeah.
Speaker 1Then they made the sequel 93. Okay, my year yeah. Then they made the sequel 93.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Your year.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1Fun fact.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1That was that.
Speaker 2That was that.
Speaker 1I think so.
Speaker 2Nothing else.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 3Alright, would you like to take a break?
Speaker 1Let's take a break.
Return from Break and Present Opening
Speaker 3Alright, we're gonna take a break. We'll be right back. Yeah, hello and welcome back.
Speaker 1Now back to the good part.
Speaker 2Hi Hello. Did you have a nice break?
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2All right, good, because we're back.
Speaker 1Yes, we are back.
Speaker 2You're back and I'm back and we got refills. Yes, cheers.
Speaker 1Cheers.
Speaker 2All right, your turn to steer the episode.
Speaker 1Okay, so I'm thinking we should start the second part with you opening the present start this second part with you opening the presents.
Speaker 2I like that idea. Yeah, I haven't actually opened any presents yet?
Speaker 1No, not at all.
Speaker 2No, my life partner bought my hair appointment for me.
Speaker 1Okay, yeah.
Speaker 2So it was an experience. It wasn't something I could open, though.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2And my daughter ran off to the store today and came back with a donut and some cookies and a Pepsi.
Speaker 1Snacks.
Speaker 2Snacks, of course. Yeah, and that was nice. I got a little candle in my donut. It was cute, yeah, but that's. That's all I've gotten Okay, which I'm okay with. They're both things that I enjoyed.
Speaker 1Yeah, of course.
Speaker 2I haven't finished my Pepsi.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2But I enjoyed the sips that I took, yeah, so I am excited to actually open a present today.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2The day after my birthday.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2Whatever, whatever.
Speaker 1Whatever?
Speaker 2Whatever?
Speaker 1It's not my fault that we started this so late.
Speaker 2No, I wanted extra walk.
Speaker 1Yes, I wrapped this one yesterday.
Speaker 2Yes, very pretty flower wrapping paper. Yeah, it's not Christmas.
Speaker 1No, it's not.
Speaker 2I feel like I only have Christmas wrapping paper. Okay, so even for your birthday, you get Christmas wrapping paper.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But it's also not my fault that your birthday is so close to Christmas.
Speaker 1No, that's true, it's like a month away, but then again you rarely wrap.
Speaker 2Right, but recently I've been doing better.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Okay, I'm going to open this now.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2There's nothing that says that it's to me.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2I just had to make that comment for the podcast. Yeah, the recording. Oh the butterfly.
Speaker 1Yes.
Speaker 2Aw, here's a box. Yeah, inside the box is it's bubbles Plastic. Bubble wrap and in the bubble wrap I have movie and kinnet and say okay, okay, you have. Yeah, you had that movie for so long yeah, it's been hanging out on my shelf and you brought it home and wrapped it up and brought it back, so that's cool.
Speaker 1I guess you didn't want these movies I bought it for the movie movie night, okay, so I also got who am I on dvd yeah, no blu-ray sorry blu-ray yeah which is very exciting yeah, because you told me you don't have that yeah, and I wanted it yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2So very good yeah.
Speaker 1I hope it works.
Speaker 2These are good, thank you, thank you.
Speaker 1Yeah, I mean, it's only three movies.
Speaker 2Was there something that hadn't come in yet, or was that this?
Speaker 1No, there's more on the way.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1We'll see when I get that.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1Maybe I already got it at home, I don't know.
Speaker 2I don't know if people.
Speaker 3I'll find out tomorrow.
Speaker 1Yeah, I don't know if people checked the mailbox or not. Okay, so I don't know.
Speaker 2Who knows? Thank you very much.
Speaker 1You're welcome.
Speaker 2I'm very happy, especially this one.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Who am I With Jackie Chan? Yes, very exciting. I like all of these movies. Good, good, good, good, good. All right, did you end up going through the other episodes, or is this just I went through transcripts. Okay.
10 Facts About Lauren
Speaker 1Of the other episodes and I hope I read it thoroughly. So I don't reuse anything thoroughly. So I don't reuse anything.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1Because I mean some of the things I'm gonna say. It feels like I already said, but I don't think I said it in those episodes.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1So we'll see, okay, okay, and this is. This is 10 facts about Lauren.
Speaker 3Yay.
Speaker 2Yay, are they all good, or are there some bad things?
Speaker 1Is it a good mixture? It's more good than bad.
Speaker 2Okay, because I know my last list for you had some less than positive things.
Speaker 1Yeah, I noticed that too To switch things up a bit. But I feel like I've tried that before and it didn't go well.
Speaker 2No, so I mean you're free to try again.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2For the sake of the episode being exciting with drama.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2For the entertainment purposes.
Speaker 1Yeah, but then you're gonna be sad for like a week.
Speaker 2Maybe it might be worth it.
Speaker 1Maybe, maybe, not. Okay, so reading through the cranscripts, the crapscripts, the crappy scripts yeah. Of the earlier episodes, I noticed one difference, so I put that as one of the. You have changed.
Speaker 2Okay, In a way Throughout the episodes or I don't know, I might be wrong.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1But it feels like there's a slight change. Okay, so this was from two years ago.
Speaker 2There might be a reason, okay, so my a reason.
Speaker 1Okay, so my first one.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1Is okay. You don't love editing as much anymore, Because in the first episode we were talking about how much you loved editing and I guess I wasn't a big fan of it so, and now it feels like we want the other person to do the editing we're always trying to push it on the other yeah, so it feels like you you're not as excited with the editing anymore as you were two years ago. Am I right or am I wrong?
Speaker 2You may be right. There was a time when the episodes were getting really long, so I would end up spending like four hours working on a two hour episode, and you know that's a lot of time in the day. And even if I did wake up early, it still would like drain me by the end. And then there would be some episodes where it's like, does this ever end, even? And yeah. So I mean, maybe I don't look forward to it as much as I used to.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2But I still I like to do it. Yeah okay, I like the results that.
Speaker 1I get when.
Speaker 2I edit.
Speaker 1It's nice afterwards.
Speaker 2Yeah, it's nice when you're done.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2And then it feels good and when you listen through and hear how much nicer it sounds.
Speaker 1Yeah, and sometimes when I'm editing, I listen through and notice all the mistakes I left in.
Speaker 2Yeah.
Speaker 1But I mean, that happens. It happens, like every episode I do.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1But this is not about me.
Speaker 2As usual.
Speaker 1Yeah, but I was talking about you. You don't love editing as much anymore, maybe, but to be fair, you have gotten both of the longest episodes we ever had. So, anyhow, number two and this is a fact I wouldn't have stated before, because it would have felt wrong if I did- Okay, so, but you can tell me now. I can tell you now. Okay, you are 32 years old.
Speaker 2Yes, you probably couldn't have said that earlier no, not with good conscience. No, you'd be wrong also, so then you'd just be a liar and that's not okay, no, exactly but yeah, that's a fact, I am 32 now yeah, so now I can say it yeah, have you been waiting a long time yeah okay I'm like or like.
Speaker 1For as long as I've known you, I've been like. I wish I could say that laura's 32 years old, but I, I just had to wait were you 32 when we started this podcast when did we start it? Was it 22 then I was 31 okay, so. No, that's a no, that's a no.
Speaker 2All right. Excuse me for being wrong.
Speaker 1Yeah, don't do it again.
Speaker 2No, I'll try that again.
Speaker 1Okay, number three. Okay, you know lots of people.
Speaker 3Oh, okay.
Speaker 1You do Because whenever we're outside you say like hi, and talk to people just passing by and you know it feels like you know everyone and I don't know anyone.
Speaker 2No, Okay, so that goes along with me being a gymnastics leader. A lot of the people who I say hi to, mostly just saying hi. I don't really have much conversation with these people, but they are parents of gymnasts that you know have gone to the classes and, yeah, I don't really know them that well. The majority of them. I couldn't tell you what their names are, but I could say that's a parent of one of the gymnasts.
Speaker 1Yeah, but you also know people. I mean, you have a lot of friends on Facebook too.
Speaker 2Yes.
Speaker 1If you think about it.
Speaker 2A lot of them are from high school and family, people who I've briefly met but thought they were interesting.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2People who I require a connection with.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2For whatever given reason, actual friends.
Speaker 1What.
Speaker 2That I do talk to.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, I'm actually one of your friends and I don't have a lot of friends I require contact with you yes, you do so you are my friend, uh your family yeah I'm friends with your family.
Speaker 2Some of them, not all of them no and yeah, I don't know. I feel like that's the majority of the people on my friends list yeah, it feels like you have like hundreds I think I have. My guess is between 290 and 360 that's a range yeah now I'm gonna check okay just because I want the number yeah, because I don't think I have 10. I'm going to check that too. Just hold on. I have 390 friends currently. Oh yeah, Like various co-workers as well.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2From previous jobs Previous. That's a plural and you.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I need to find you. Oh, there you are.
Speaker 1I'm not a friend you have 17 friends. Wow.
Speaker 2Yeah, one of them is a cat, two of them are cats.
Speaker 1Oh yeah, I.
Speaker 2No, their profile pictures are just cats. Yeah, keep going.
Speaker 1Number four you speak Swedish very well. Oh, okay, I didn't know, you didn't know. No, that was one of the ones I feel like I've said to you before, but I couldn't see it in previous birthday episodes.
Speaker 2Right, you haven't said that one.
Speaker 1No. So yes, you do. Okay, that's a fact, and because I have now experienced your Swedish more, oh, during Family Fika. Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah, that's a requirement.
Speaker 1Yeah it during family FICA. Yeah, yeah, that's a requirement. Yeah, it is Very scary yeah.
Speaker 2Very scary situation.
Speaker 1I understand, but I also understand I understand, but you're saying everything wrong, yeah but I do understand what you're trying to say, so I'm just sitting there laughing.
Speaker 3Yeah.
Speaker 1No, you are really good, especially compared to other people. You, yeah, I mean you, you know most of the words, and I, and I mean you're really good with the grammar really yeah, because that's where I feel like I fall short oh between grammar and pronunciation yeah, uh, I don't know pronunciation no, I think you're good at both. Okay, fairly good. I, if I were an american, I don't think I would be as good as you speaking sw. Swedish yeah, okay, squeaking Swedish.
Speaker 2Squeaking in Swedish.
Speaker 1Squeaking in Swedish.
Speaker 2We're speaking squirrel now.
Speaker 1Yeah. Let's get back to English yeah, Back to the helium. I thought Back to the helium.
Speaker 2When you start speaking squirrel, you gotta go back to the helium. Yeah, yep, so you got to go back to the helium.
Speaker 1Yeah, yep, so that was that. You're good at Swedish.
Speaker 3Okay, thank you.
Speaker 1That's a fact.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1Okay, number five. This might come as a surprise to most of the people. Okay, not.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1You like snacks?
Speaker 2Oh, I do.
Speaker 1You do.
Speaker 2That's probably my favorite thing.
Speaker 1Yeah, not just snacks. I mean, you like eating?
Speaker 2Oh yeah.
Speaker 1And drinking.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1You like. Consuming.
Speaker 2Consuming is a better term. Yes, okay so maybe I put a lot of things in my body.
Speaker 1Yes, good for you, thank you. Things in my body yes, good for you, thank you. Yeah, I mean, it's like we haven't even did we mention our snacks tonight?
Speaker 2uh no, but we do have a wheel of snacks yeah that um has a whole bunch of options for snacks, because when it comes to movie nights, we like to have snacks and we can't decide what to have for snacks. So I have all of these options for snacks, so we spin the wheel for movie night and it lands on a snack that we have. So for my birthday I wanted a little bit of everything for snacks. And that's what we did.
Speaker 1We did.
Speaker 2We did not finish them.
Speaker 1Nay.
Speaker 2Nay Nay.
Speaker 1Now we're going to speak Swedish because you're so good at it, nay, okay, wait, that's enough.
Speaker 2Wait, where's my balloon? Where's my balloon, nay?
Speaker 3Nay Nay Okay.
Speaker 2Yeah, yeah, very funny very funny very funny that was so funny we didn't finish all of them.
Speaker 1We will tomorrow yes, we're gonna have a movie morning movie morning because I can't bring you home.
Speaker 2I've been drinking drinking tequila.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, okay, so that was that.
Speaker 2That was that.
Speaker 1Snack.
Speaker 2Snackish.
Speaker 1Number six You're a safe person.
Speaker 2Oh, what no?
Speaker 1Yes, you are.
Speaker 2Okay.
Speaker 1I can tell you why.
Speaker 2Please yes. Tell me why.
Speaker 1Tell me why. Sorry, I'm not going to start singing, but I wanted to. Yeah, okay, so you're a safe person because you wait until all people put their seatbelts on in the car.
Speaker 2As you're supposed to right.
Speaker 1I would say, most people don't do that.
Speaker 2Most people don't wait.
Speaker 1Don't wait.
Speaker 2To make sure that all of their passengers are seatbelted.
Speaker 1Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2Secured. Yeah, okay, why.
Speaker 1I don't know.
Speaker 2Lack of patience maybe?
Speaker 1Yeah, I guess so.
Speaker 2Well, I'd rather that everyone is safe in my car.
Speaker 1Yeah, so that's why you're a safe person, a safe driver, okay. Yeah, so that's why you're a safe person, a safe driver. Okay, you don't go over speed limits.
Speaker 2Not with people in the car.
Speaker 1no, Okay, you do that without people in the car.
Speaker 2Uh. I mean, if I go over the limit with people in the car. It's only a little bit.
Speaker 1Is it because the people are so heavy that you can't get?
Speaker 2Yeah, it pulls more gas.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I usually go a little bit faster when I'm alone, especially trying to go home after I drop you off.
Speaker 1Okay, because then I just want to be home. Yeah, as soon as possible.
Speaker 2I haven't gotten in an accident yet from that no. Almost there was a deer just like hanging out in the middle of the road. Yeah, and I was going a bit fast.
Speaker 1So you were unsafe.
Speaker 2I was unsafe. The deer, on the other hand, was also being unsafe. It wasn't just me. I wasn't alone in this situation.
Speaker 1No, so it's also the deer's fault.
Speaker 2Yeah For being in the road.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2It's not their fault that I was going too fast.
Speaker 1No, anyhow. Yeah, you're a safe person.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1Number seven you are not afraid to take on challenges.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1With that I mean like for examples you do, spinning.
Speaker 3Right.
Speaker 1You do the gymnastics, you basically quit your job.
Speaker 2Yeah, I did.
Speaker 1I would say that's taking on challenges.
Speaker 2I'm not doing great so far.
Speaker 1Yet no.
Speaker 2Not yet.
Speaker 1Not yet, but I feel like you will.
Speaker 2I mean, I feel like you got to fall down a little bit before you get back up.
Speaker 1Yeah, and that's a challenge of anything.
Speaker 2And that's something I know from experience. I trip all the time.
Speaker 1Yeah, I'm clumsy. Exactly, that's a challenge.
Speaker 2Sometimes I actually fall.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I don't just trip and and pretend that nothing happened.
Speaker 1No.
Speaker 2Because when I'm on the ground I can't just be like what happened?
Speaker 1You stay there for a while.
Speaker 2I stay there for a while. I'm just sunbathing in the snow.
Speaker 1Yeah, but you get up.
Speaker 2Yeah, eventually, after my knee stops hurting.
Speaker 1Yeah, after you've been there for a while, you get up. Yeah, eventually, after my knee stops hurting, yeah, after you've been there for a while, you get up. Yeah, so that's cool yeah, that's cool. Yeah, yeah, I guess so yeah yes, you really sound like a cool person.
Speaker 3I'm a cool person.
Speaker 1Number eight is a thing I really appreciate about you, and that is that you always go all in on holidays.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1So whether it's Thanksgiving, Christmas, Halloween, you know you go all in you, or is it all out. You know what I mean. You do everything. You're not like cut in corners, you actually do the whole.
Speaker 2The whole. Thing.
Speaker 1The whole thing. Yeah, and that's really cool because that's not how I grew up.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1And I like the seriousness yet playfulness of that.
Speaker 3Okay.
Speaker 1For example, halloween, like we're dressing up, we're doing everything, we do the makeup, we do everything about that. What I'm used to is like put on a mask and just like a sloppy mask on and do.
Speaker 2Do what you, just wander around.
Speaker 1No, we had like small, like parties at school. Okay, that was it, like a disco, a dance or parties at school.
Speaker 2Okay, that was it. Like a disco, a dance or something. Yeah, dance.
Speaker 1Yeah, that was it With you. It's so much more and I really appreciate that because it feels like I can be a kid and actually experience it better now as an adult.
Speaker 2The correct way.
Speaker 1Yeah, and I mean, the same goes for Christmas and Thanksgiving. I never had Thanksgiving before meeting you.
Speaker 2There was no reason for you to no but I'm glad I get to experience that. And birthdays.
Speaker 1Birthdays, of course, and Easter too. So yeah, you do, do everything.
Speaker 2I do do, yes, I do this.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2I drag you along, but I do it mostly for the kids. I want my kids to have the full experience of the holidays and special times.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But we like having you there too.
Speaker 1Yes, I do at least. Yeah, yeah, I think you're probably the one.
Speaker 2And I think that they're really fun. It's something to look forward to.
Speaker 1Yeah, yeah, so do I Good. And not to forget, midsommar is also one of the Midsommar is one of my favorites.
Speaker 2I mean, I do love Thanksgiving, I do love Halloween, my birthday is always going to be my favorite holiday, but Midsommar is also one of my tops.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay, and Christmas.
Speaker 2Yes, I do love Christmas as well.
Speaker 1Halloween and Christmas are mine.
Speaker 2But if I'm going to put a lot of effort into a holiday, it's one of those.
Speaker 1Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2Also Christmas.
Speaker 1Yeah, good, that was that Number nine. You're always up for adventures that's true and not only that, you're usually the one who instigates it yeah, I'm a planner yeah, and I mean that's fun. Uh, I, I do like going on adventures. We have an adventures, we. We have an adventures yeah we have an adventure planned for yesterday. No tomorrow, I can't talk anymore.
Speaker 2How's it?
Speaker 1going. We have an adventures planned for yesterday.
Speaker 2Okay, we didn't do it, I guess.
Speaker 1No, we have an adventure planned for tomorrow.
Speaker 2Right, yeah, I do love adventures.
Speaker 1You do and I do too.
Speaker 2They keep me alive, and I like stories that we can tell.
Speaker 1Yeah, it feels like the podcast gets better when we have stories to tell.
Speaker 2Yeah, I think so too.
Speaker 1Yeah, and number 10. You're the bestie to a guy called Matthias and you're his walking buddy. Yeah, and number 10. You're the bestie to a guy called Matias and you're his walking buddy. Yeah, and also movie buddy.
Speaker 2Yeah, adventure buddy.
Speaker 1Adventure buddy.
Speaker 2You are my bestie.
Speaker 1I am and you are mine.
Speaker 2I don't think that's going to change anytime soon.
Speaker 1No, not until like Sunday, maybe, yeah.
Speaker 2Or like a couple Tuesdays from now.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Then you're going to realize this was a mistake.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2Yeah. It was a good list.
Speaker 1Thank you.
Speaker 2It was different than usual and I liked it.
Speaker 1Thank you.
Speaker 2Thank you, I enjoyed it.
Speaker 1Good.
Speaker 2I enjoy my movies that I got.
Speaker 1Good yeah, you've already seen all of them.
Speaker 2Yeah, but I feel like I will probably watch at least one of them again.
Speaker 1I wonder which one.
Speaker 2I'm not telling you.
Speaker 1No, I hope I can also watch that one with you, with me, if I ever sleep over. Maybe, we usually watch Jackie Chan the morning afterwards.
Speaker 2Yeah, I do have a question though.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2What is currently ruining your life?
Speaker 1Good question.
Speaker 2Thank you.
Speaker 1I can tell you that what's currently ruining my life is that this week it's been very uncertain if I'm gonna have a headache or not. Like, I had a headache on Monday, tuesday and Thursday, so I don't know which days I'm gonna have a headache, and it's awful having these headaches. Wednesday and today were good. I'm happy that. I'm really really happy that today was a good day, because that was what I was most nervous about, but it went well.
Speaker 2Good.
What's Ruining Your Life?
Speaker 1Yes, what's ruining your life?
Speaker 2I'm getting old yeah. I don't know it's really weird because I still feel like I'm really young, but sometimes I feel like that's going to change at some point.
Speaker 1Yeah.
Speaker 2But I guess it really depends on who I'm around, Because while we were on the class trip I definitely felt really young.
Speaker 1Okay, you did.
Speaker 2I was getting along with the kids really well and I did not want to hang out with the adults. No okay, I was the cool mom, huh, that was my role. The adults no, okay, I was the cool mom, huh, that was my role. And yeah, they liked me and they thought I was funny and everything, and I felt like the adults were just way older than me boring yeah, I really did not.
Speaker 1I didn't want to sit there and talk to them and I feel like that's one of my points with the holidays and that also makes you feel like a young person doing all the holiday stuff.
Speaker 2Yeah, I mean, I still kind of feel pretty young.
Speaker 1I mean.
Speaker 2I'm not a teenager, but I feel kind of stuck with the I don't know early 20s kind of mind.
Speaker 1Okay.
Speaker 2I think I was never really into partying or anything. I was never invited to anything. I was a mom.
Speaker 1Yeah, that's true.
Speaker 2So I don't know, Maybe it's kind of a thing that maybe you kind of get stuck in the mindset that you were at when you had your first child.
Speaker 1Maybe I don't know you wouldn't know anything about that. I don't have a child.
Speaker 2No. But, I don't know if that'll ever.
Speaker 1Happen.
Speaker 2Fade away oh okay, no, no. My mindset. Okay, I don't know if that'll ever fade away and I'll actually feel like I'm a responsible adult.
Speaker 1You were 19 when you had a child.
Speaker 2I was still 18. I had a month until I was 19.
Speaker 1So when your oldest is 18, he's going to be like as old as you feel, right? And when he's 19, like as old as you feel right and when he's 19, he's older than you. Feel, right, you're?
Speaker 2you're gonna be like oh, old guy yeah you're so old yeah, I'm still gonna pull on his.
Speaker 1He's gonna hate me yeah forever when he's like 40, he's like mom stop, it's not funny, funny you have this worst sense of humor ever will you grow up like I?
Speaker 2I don't think I can at this point.
Speaker 1I feel like it's too late to grow, yeah but you know that I'm always two years older than you that's true so, no matter how old you get, I'm always older, unless I die, of course yeah, and then I will probably be older than you.
Speaker 2Yeah, at some point, two years later.
Speaker 1Yeah, two years later you will be older than me. Then you can go to my grave and say Ha ha, I beat ya. Maybe, yeah, that's okay, you can do that.
Speaker 2All right, thank you for the permission.
Speaker 1Yeah, you have my permission to do that.
Speaker 3Good.
Speaker 1Do you think this is like a good point to wrap this up?
Speaker 2I think so yeah.
Speaker 3I'm all out of sips.
Speaker 1So am I. That means we're all out of episode.
Speaker 3Would you like to wrap this up? Yes, let's do that. Let's wrap this up All right, okay, so thank, let's wrap this up.
