I guess you have to call them, I don't want to call them. I'm going to have them call me. Yeah, Like hello. Would you like to book a table? Yes, yes, I do. Thank you for asking.
Speaker 1:How do you know they're calling?
Speaker 2:you and you're asking them if they want to book a table. You'd like to book a table? Okay, he's like no, no, no, you get it all wrong. You book a table at our place, Like oh, no I think you want to book a table at my place.
Speaker 1:We're going to fight. You're the one calling me you called me.
Speaker 2:What do you want? Yeah, I'm not, I'm not, I'm just not.
Speaker 1:You're not.
Speaker 2:Let's get a regular pizza. Nothing fancy Special pizza Okay. With extra cheese and tomatoes. I just want tomatoes and mozzarella. Skip the bread.
Speaker 1:What? That's not. That's not even okay. You don't even joke about that.
Speaker 2:That's not funny. You have to contact them directly.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so if we call them now, do you think that they'll book the table this far in advance? Maybe, I'd like a table for December. I'm going to call them and I'm going to book a table for 6 o'clock. Do you think we'll make it? Yeah, okay, I trust us. What could go wrong? Okay, I trust us. What could go wrong? Nothing, other than the fact that I don't know where anything is. Where's the trains?
Speaker 1:Like everything.
Speaker 2:Literally everything your face. It's right here, it is In front of me. Yeah, I like that.
Speaker 1:Sorry about that.
Speaker 2:No, I liked it. Oh, okay, oh.
Speaker 1:I'm sorry.
Speaker 2:Okay, you just apologized for everything.
Speaker 1:Sorry, you're like that I'm like no, it's a good thing, I like it. I'm like I'm sorry. I'm sorry for you having a poor taste.
Speaker 2:Okay, well, I'm not going to argue.
Speaker 1:Should we start?
Speaker 2:Should we?
Speaker 1:Maybe we should.

Speaker 2:No, I don't remember my own lines.
Speaker 1:No, I don't either. I don't remember any lines.
Speaker 2:Like we sit here and everything goes blank. Yep, somehow we managed to pull everything together.
Speaker 1:We do.
Speaker 2:I don't know how we do it.
Speaker 1:I don't know either. We're just that good, yeah, no one knows.
Speaker 2:No one knows that we're this good.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Not even we know it.
Speaker 1:No, exactly, we fool a lot of people.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you'd be amazed by the amount of people that we have fooled.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's our secret and our mystery secret ingredient.
Speaker 2:No one actually knows what it is. No, okay, marias, marias, I do the cheese so fast it becomes an R. Yeah, matias.
Speaker 1:Did you hear my squeak? I did, it's funny.
Speaker 2:How are you?
Speaker 1:I'm good. Good, how are you? I'm good yeah. I'm sweaty though you are sweaty yeah you can see that right?
Speaker 2:I see it, Yep.
Speaker 1:You are, you, I'm good, yeah, I'm sweaty, though.
Speaker 2:You are sweaty.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you can see that right, I see it, yep.
Speaker 2:You're wearing my shirt, though, so it's okay, I do. Yeah, so that's cool.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it is Few people knows it.
Speaker 2:Please tell me more about that.
Speaker 1:While you're poking your eye out.
Speaker 2:I'm actually gouging my eye out. I'm just trying so hard to not be here. Need an excuse to leave. Oh no, my eyeball fell out.
Speaker 1:I better call an ambulance I hate it when this happens.
Speaker 2:You'd be surprised how many times this happens. They're like is this Lauren? Again, again like yeah, it's my eye. Can you just pop it back in? I hate I things, so you have to do it. I can't do it myself.
Speaker 1:I get so grossed out the worst thing is, I can't even close my eyes. It's hanging out.
Speaker 2:I have to look and I get so dizzy because it's just like hopping all over the place. Yeah, oh my God, imagine how uncomfortable I touched it with my tongue Ew but yeah, stop Gross.
Speaker 1:You're making everyone throw up right now I'm thinking, like you know, the the ping pong thing with the string, oh no, please don't.
Speaker 2:No, I don't want, I don't want to know. I I know where you're going and I don't like it okay, I'll stop that's. That's it for me yeah, uh I'll I I leave this podcast now, I guess thank you, uh, but first can you tell me what your week has been like?
Speaker 1:my week has been like okay cool? No, it's. It has been above average, though. All right, it's been pretty good good uh, do you want to do you want me to go like day by day?
Speaker 2:what did we do last weekend? On saturday I did not see you on saturday because it was my life partner's birthday that's right and we went to a theme park called Food Week. It went pretty well. It rained a little bit on and off, but it was really nice, because that's when there's not as many people in the park, so that's like minimal weight lines. So, yeah, it was good. My poor life partner, though, because he tried so many times to win one of those giant chocolate boxes.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:He put so much money into it.
Speaker 1:Oh no.
Speaker 2:He didn't get a single one.
Speaker 1:Oh.
Speaker 2:The poor guy.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and it was his birthday.
Speaker 2:It was his birthday, so we tried to coax the people.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Like it's his birthday. They're like we can't control this like, but it's still his birthday yeah, exactly um and poor, sick child. He was with us. It was just the three of us yeah, were you three. A sad bunch of people he well, I don't know, I don't know, I don't think I was really that sad okay, it was just the boys the boys who were sad because sick child was just like seven centimeters too short for the bumper cars okay which, of course, was the main thing we were looking forward to.
Speaker 2:Okay, he couldn't go on them no so we didn't do it okay but he did find other. What? So you were just about above yeah, I was just above the line and he did find other rides okay that I'm sorry, I just you're so funny, aren't you? Yeah, I think so yeah, cool that you think, so you keep thinking that yes we did find other rides that he could ride cool, and he had a lot of fun anyway good yeah, it was fun yeah, we had a good day good and then I saw you on sunday yeah we went for a walk we did and and we had fika.
Speaker 1:We did. Yeah, but we didn't have cake.
Speaker 2:There was no cake. I was kind of sad about that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't know why, really.
Speaker 2:No, oh well.
Speaker 1:It was not up to us.
Speaker 2:I already had cake that day.
Speaker 1:Okay. So it didn't really. It was okay that.
Speaker 2:I missed out on cake, or that we just didn't have cake? Have you guys had the cake?
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:No, okay, so it's still waiting for me.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:It's gonna have to wait another week. Yeah, I got up I wouldn't say early, but I was up before my life partner woke up so I baked a cake for him for his birthday, which was the day before, but still, we didn't have time for cake that day. Yeah, and we booked our tickets our flight tickets.
Speaker 1:That's exciting.
Speaker 2:For our big trip coming up after Christmas.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's really exciting Really exciting. So we're planning like everything now.
Speaker 2:We are in full planning mode and trying to book everything we can right now and hoping for the best yeah, it's gonna be fun I really hope so yeah, I hope so too what about the rest of your week?
Speaker 1:the rest of my week has been pretty boring. I've been going to work it was was just Monday we went for a walk and later on Wednesday.
Speaker 2:On Monday I had an interview.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:At a grocery store. I really didn't want that job.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:And I didn't get it.
Speaker 1:Congratulations, thank you.
Speaker 2:Thank you, I didn't even try to not get it. So that's talent To actually try and still not get it.
Speaker 1:I think. And then we went for a walk.
Speaker 2:We did. We went for a walk on Monday and it was nice.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we were talking about the trip.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we took two laps and we stopped at the gym, the outside gym.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And yeah, we talked a lot about the trip. Yeah, full planning mode.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:That's what happened on Monday.
Speaker 1:Tuesday.
Speaker 2:Tuesday I got the car inspected. Oh, and it passed. Cool, very cool, yeah, adult stuff, you know I got a free coffee.
Speaker 1:So excited.
Speaker 2:I was really excited for the free coffee.
Speaker 1:Oh okay, Not that the car passed that. I was really excited for the free coffee. Oh okay, Not that the car passed that too it was just a good time all around.
Speaker 2:Everyone was having a good time. My oldest decided he needed new pants, so we all went into the city and went clothes shopping.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:Then we had lunch kind of dinner, it was like in between there, so it kind of counted as both. I think Okay, and then we went home, cool right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so that was that.
Speaker 2:Cool, cool Wednesday.
Speaker 1:Wednesday.
Speaker 2:We had, oh, the washing machine. We have a combo washer dryer right and the drying part of this machine stopped working. So, we're doing laundry in the basement now, and that's what happened on Wednesday. I did laundry, not fun adult stuff. No one had a good time.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:Everyone was fighting. No one liked it.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:I don't know. It became a whole dramatic thing. So we booked a repair guy to come out, but it's going to be like three weeks before he gets here, vacation times, I guess. Yeah, two weeks Sorry.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:I lied. I know I'm sorry.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but yeah, I'm not okay, I'm leaving now, I know.
Speaker 2:I can't trust you anymore. We had Fika with my life partner's family, because they wanted to celebrate him too. Oh okay, and then sick child stayed with his grandmother, and so my oldest and my life partner and I went to the lake and we went kayaking. Oh yeah, it was really fun actually.
Speaker 2:We went kayaking oh yeah, it was really fun, actually, okay, until we got pretty far in and I heard thunder, so I had us all turn around and go back. I was like I don't want to get caught in that, no. So we got ice cream and picked up a pan pizza or a pizza on our way home, because Sick Child has been asking all week if we could have a dance party, which requires pizza, candles and music.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:So we did that, and then I ran off to you and we went for a walk. Yeah, and it was nice.
Speaker 1:It was nice.
Speaker 2:I stole some hay.
Speaker 1:You did.
Speaker 2:For the bunny and he was really really happy.
Speaker 1:Good.
Speaker 2:He's a happy bunny Thursday. Yes, my oldest and sick child and my life partner and I went to the beach. We bought a Frisbee so that we could play with the Frisbee on the beach. It was fun. Okay, we had fun Okay. If you say so. And then we went home and I played outside with Sick Child.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:And we both got burned by the Brennnessner.
Speaker 1:Oh, okay, not by the sun.
Speaker 2:Not by the sun.
Speaker 1:That was already done, I guess.
Speaker 2:Yeah, just a little bit. It wasn't that bad this time.
Speaker 1:No, okay.
Speaker 2:And then my life partner and I went for a walk on the trail in the woods and it was really nice, Yep.
Speaker 1:Yep.
Speaker 2:Yep, that's what happened. That was Thursday, okay, today's Friday.
Speaker 1:It is.
Speaker 2:What have I done today? I don't know.
Speaker 1:I don't know.
Speaker 2:We did do a little bit of shopping.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:I played some video games. I took a crowbar from your dad.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:I used that crowbar.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:A little bit. I did some building. I made dinner and then we watched movies. Yeah, yeah, would you like to move on?
Speaker 1:Let's move on Good.
Speaker 2:I feel like I'm really boring.
Speaker 1:Okay, so what did we watch today?
Speaker 2:Today we watched Forever Young.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:And.
Speaker 1:We had at least fun with the weather again.
Speaker 2:We were lucky with the weather again. Yeah, something like that. Does it have an English version?
Speaker 1:Australia has a TV title of this movie, and that's well.
Speaker 2:we were lucky with the weather again, so yeah, I was right, I'm going to start with Forever Young.
Speaker 1:Yes, Okay, forever.
Speaker 2:Young. Yes, okay, this is a movie with Mel Gibson and Frodo and Jamie Lee Curtis.
Speaker 1:Yeah, frodo, also known as.
Speaker 2:Elias.
Speaker 1:Elijah Wood Right yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and Norm from Cheers was in this movie, so that's cool.
Speaker 1:It was funny because we were talking about him this week.
Speaker 2:Yeah, we were talking about how we're going to meet him in Boston.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:At least his cardboard cut out.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Did I ask if he's still alive.
Speaker 1:Maybe you did, is he? He died May 20th this year.
Speaker 2:Oh, I guess he's not alive.
Speaker 1:Anymore.
Speaker 2:Anymore, he was at one point.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and then he stopped Before May 20th this year.
Speaker 2:Then he was alive.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's too bad, yeah, okay. So in this movie, mel Gibson, yes. He is a pilot in the military and it's 1939 and the girl he wanted to marry was put in a coma.
Speaker 1:Yes, not put. No, she, it wasn't planned.
Speaker 2:No, she fell.
Speaker 1:Yeah, she was in an accident.
Speaker 2:Yeah, did she get hit by a car or something, or did she just trip and fall?
Speaker 1:I think she was hit by a car. That's how I.
Speaker 2:I assumed it at first, but I didn't really see a car. Okay, or maybe I did.
Speaker 1:I saw a car. It looked like a truck with oranges on it.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, yeah, okay. Well, she was on the ground.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And she was in a coma and so Mella Gibson got really, really sad because she didn't wake up for a really long time. So Norm was a scientist and he was like I want to freeze someone for an entire year. So Mel Gibson was like pick me, pick me. And so Norm did that. He made Mel Gibson sleep.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:He froze, him Froze him Frozo.
Speaker 1:He was Frozo, frozone yeah.
Speaker 2:He froze him, froze him, frozo. He was Frozo.
Speaker 1:Frozone. Yeah, frozo meets Frodo.
Speaker 2:Mm-hmm, kind of yeah, in a way.
Speaker 1:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2:And then, like 50 years go by and Frodo opens his.
Speaker 1:Capsule.
Speaker 2:Capsule, he gets welcomed into Frodo's family, I guess.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And they try to find Norm. That's what he's trying to do the whole time. So, yeah, that's what happened.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:What did you think about this movie?
Speaker 1:Okay, so I have seen this movie like once before.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:And I think it's pretty good. It has a couple of funny moments. It's mostly like a drama. It's still not the boring kind of drama that I don't like. This is an interesting drama, so I yeah, I like it.
Speaker 2:Good.
Speaker 1:What did you think?
Speaker 2:I really liked this movie.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:I thought it was really good. I really liked the concept yeah, because I assumed that he would have been woken up after the one year planned. Yeah, but it kind of looked like he was forgotten about.
Speaker 1:Yeah, in a way he was In a way yeah, but yeah, I really like this movie. Cool.
Speaker 2:Do you have anything else to say about it?
Speaker 1:I don't think so. I like it too. It is funny at a few moments and that really adds to it. I like it too. It is funny at a few moments and that really adds to it. I like it. A little disappointed that the song Forever Young isn't played in the movie, though.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I guess.
Speaker 1:Would have been cool, yeah, but I guess they didn't have the rights, or.
Speaker 2:Probably not. I'm sure it's expensive.
Speaker 1:So yeah, Anyhow, I like the movie.
Speaker 2:Good, yes, because I did too Good. So, yeah, anyhow, I like the movie. Good, yes, because I did too Good.
Speaker 1:Next, Next vi hade iallafalltum I värdet igen.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:So this movie is a sequel to the movie, the Swedish movie, we saw last week. This is like 28 years later Sounds like the zombie movie, but no, it is 28 years later, but no zombies. So this movie it's about Gösta and Gunn, the characters from the last movie. The parents yeah, the parents, and they're now much older. In short, they go for another trip across country for their son's wedding and also to spread his friend's ashes. So yeah, that's what it is about, really.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:What did you think about this movie?
Speaker 2:I did like this movie.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:I enjoyed it. I liked Yuang Lanz was in this movie. And I really like him.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's always fun to see him.
Speaker 2:He pretty much had a character similar to Desisteraiset.
Speaker 1:Right yeah.
Speaker 2:So I thought that was kind of funny. He's just like kind of popping up here.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Would you say that this movie is better than the first one?
Speaker 1:I would not say that. Okay, would you say that this movie is better than the first?
Speaker 2:one. I would not say that.
Speaker 1:Okay, would you say that?
Speaker 2:I think I might have liked this one more.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:Than the other one. There was no weird random cut.
Speaker 1:No, that's true. That's the plus for this one.
Speaker 2:I don't know. I feel like, for some reason, based off of my memory right now the situations were a lot clearer in this movie okay you know, but I was also pretty annoyed with the dad and his behavior yeah I mean sure it's funny and everything, but enough is enough. Yeah, you know yeah, that's true what did you think?
Speaker 1:I don't know, I wasn't the biggest fan of this one. Okay, it's the first time I saw this one.
Speaker 2:Same here.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I don't really know why it feels like this one. It has some funny moments, but it's not really enough. It had one moment that I thought was really funny. Okay, and that's a callback to the first movie.
Speaker 2:Oh, the car wash, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:That scene. It was the best scene in the whole movie for me.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:So yeah, that scene I really thought was funny. But yeah, I don't know, I kind of found a lot of the characters annoying.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Like the.
Speaker 2:The boyfriend.
Speaker 1:The boyfriend.
Speaker 2:Of the granddaughter.
Speaker 1:He was really annoying.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I thought so too. And then the guy who was chasing after the mom.
Speaker 1:Yeah, also annoying.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And yeah, the son's wife.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, who was just like so mad.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Over, like everything yeah.
Speaker 1:She was also really annoying.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:It was weird the whole dog scene. I didn't find that that funny.
Speaker 2:I mean, I guess it was just an example of how he ruins everything Pretty much.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I guess.
Speaker 2:Because the guy was like oh, my dog is amazing, I couldn't live without him. And then the dad just like kills the dog yeah.
Speaker 1:Well, I thought it was funny until we saw the dog lying there.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Because I thought it was funny when he threw the ball away and the dog just jumping after it.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:That was funny. They didn't have to show the dog.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Because that kind of ruined the moment for me.
Speaker 2:I don't know Okay.
Speaker 1:I mean I grew up with the other one.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:So that's probably why I prefer that one. And I heard that it might not be up to my taste and it wasn't really, but it wasn't the worst. I just didn't like it as much as the first one.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And I mean it feels like in tone it's kind of different from the first one.
Speaker 2:Okay. The characters doesn't really feel like themselves okay, you think that maybe they became a lot more dramatic yeah, yeah like overdone in a way yeah, but it was a good attempt at doing a sequel, I guess, yeah.
Speaker 1:So yeah, I'm not disappointed that I saw the movie.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:So yeah, it was okay. All right, the kids aren't the same actors as in the first one.
Speaker 2:That's disappointing too.
Speaker 1:It is, that's also a thing.
Speaker 2:I would have rather that they were the same actors.
Speaker 1:That would have been cool.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:But yeah, I guess they didn't want to reprise their roles or maybe probably weren't even asked to oh yeah, that too. Okay, anyhow, that's it, I think.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:For movie on Feels good.
Speaker 2:Yeah, All right then would you like to take a break?
Speaker 1:Let's take a break.
Speaker 2:All right, we'll be right back. Yes, and we're back.
Speaker 1:We are.
Speaker 2:All right, welcome back.
Speaker 1:Thank you, you're welcome you too. Thank you, you're welcome.
Speaker 2:What is on your mind?
Speaker 1:What's on my mind, okay. So this morning, right, I was thinking. So this morning, right, I was thinking about open eyes. Okay, I'm not on there as much as you, no, but I am on there sometimes, and this morning was one of those times, because we have tried before to ask about this podcast on there and it never really gave us the results we wanted, right? So I thought maybe I should give it another try and, to my surprise, it actually gave me some facts about this show, this podcast.
Speaker 2:Did you ask for some facts?
Speaker 1:I did ask for some facts, but it's really. It's mostly about what we already talked about on the show. So should I go through it? Yeah, okay. So I asked tell me about the hosts of the podcast Roasty Toasty Ghosty. And it says Roasty Toasty Ghosty is coarsely hosted by Lauren and Matthias, who bring quirky chemistry and humor as they explore all sorts of random, entertaining topics each week.
Speaker 2:That's true.
Speaker 1:Yes, their official show page describes it as and that's the line I couldn't remember earlier. Yes, yeah, but uh.
Speaker 2:OpenEyes knows it. Yeah, that's cool Better than me, yeah.
Speaker 1:So meet the hosts lauren, co-host and the voice behind the fun banter and movie night reviews are you sure? Okay, all right she's known for topics that range from the absurd like polar bear summer survival tips yes, I came up with that Kind of. Yeah To anecdotes such as reflections on OCD or favorite Swedish traditions.
Speaker 2:Okay, cool.
Speaker 1:And Mattias Lauren's co-host and counterpart in the Madness. He joins in movie recaps challenges, including Mad Libs segments.
Speaker 2:That's a challenge.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and dive into everyday oddities, often serving as the perfect comedic foil. So that's us.
Speaker 2:That sounds about right give or take.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so now the people know about that.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:And here's a fact Together, they've been releasing weekly episodes since 2022.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:And have surpassed 130 episodes.
Speaker 2:We're on 137 right now as we speak. Cool yeah, on 137 right now as we speak. Cool yeah.
Speaker 1:Each one blending lighthearted conversations, listener interaction and occasional live Twitch Mad Libs sessions.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:That was difficult for me to say.
Speaker 2:Which we're gonna do tomorrow. Yes, which is cool.
Speaker 1:So that's in the past when this episode's out.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I guess Currently it's in the future.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:But in the future it'll be in the past.
Speaker 1:Whoa, you blew my mind right there. What to expect? Movie Night Reviews. Each episode includes their opinions on recent films, delivered with wit and warmth.
Speaker 2:Or anger and drama.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah.
Speaker 2:Very strong opinions.
Speaker 1:Oh yes, On random topics.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:From Finnish fika.
Speaker 2:Finnish fika.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:What have we ever? Wait hold on, hold on. Now I need to know, okay.
Speaker 1:From Finnish fika culture to breaking weird news or hosting quirky quizzes.
Speaker 2:Right.
Speaker 1:So Finnish fika culture? I'm not going to let that go.
Speaker 2:No, Is fika a Finnish thing as well?
Speaker 1:I don't know. Let me yeah you, my turn, yes.
Speaker 2:All right, open eyes. Please tell me, do Finnish people also have fika? Okay, so, not exactly. Fika is a distinctly Swedish tradition. While Finns also enjoy coffee breaks and actually drink more coffee per capita than Swedes, they don't call it fika and the cultural ritual around it isn't quite the same. So the Finnish equivalent of fika is called kavitauku, kavitauku, ku like cow Kavitauku.
Speaker 1:Can I no, no, this one, kavitauku.
Speaker 2:Yeah sure can I no, no, this one coffee taco yeah sure it's common, but not romanticized like fika okay um, it's usually coffee, sometimes with pastry, like fika. It can be social, but it's less ceremonious. So while fins do take coffee breaks, fika as a social and cultural concept is unique to Sweden. Okay, all right, so Obanai has had a little trip there.
Speaker 1:That's what I'm searching for. I kind of want.
Speaker 2:You want them to be wrong? Yeah, okay.
Speaker 1:But so far they've been right.
Speaker 2:Except for Fika, which is Swedish.
Speaker 1:That's the only thing, though, so far, so oh well, anyhow. Interactive segments, including monthly live Mad Libs on Twitch.
Speaker 2:Yes, again we do that. We're gonna really drill that into people's heads today Subscriber-exclusive leftovers episodes. We have that. It's only like $3 a month.
Speaker 1:And regular listener mail.
Speaker 2:Yeah, if we get fan mail.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so leave that too.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that would be cool.
Speaker 1:Do all of them.
Speaker 2:If you want me to read your weird random comments, then send us a text.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:As fan mail.
Speaker 1:So here comes the vibe.
Speaker 2:Ooh, I like vibes.
Speaker 1:Yeah, lighthearted and comedic. Strong emphasis on humor. No ghostly scares here, just fun. Yeah, mm, entertaining chemistry. Their dynamic is easygoing and conversational, controversial, competitive.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's controversial, I guess Maybe.
Speaker 1:Maybe For some people.
Speaker 2:It gets there, I guess.
Speaker 1:You know those people, those people. And conversational, like good friends chatting in your living room. Yeah, yeah.
Speaker 2:Sometimes we go into random people's living rooms and just have a conversation Just to chat. Not with the people who own the living room. No, we just talk to each other. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we needs, we needs, we needs a place to stay.
Speaker 2:Yeah, okay, we needs we needs a place to stay.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay, always evolving With fresh content, new guest ideas and regular live show interaction.
Speaker 2:Right, we have Mad Libs yeah.
Speaker 1:They kept things feeling fresh for listeners.
Speaker 2:I really hope so.
Speaker 1:So, in summary, Hosts, that's us Lauren and Mattias. Yeah For Matt.
Speaker 2:In summary, hosts, that's us.
Speaker 1:Lauren and Mattias.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Format.
Speaker 2:For Mattias.
Speaker 1:Yes, yes. Weekly conversational comedy with movie chat, random fun topics, listener features and live segments.
Speaker 2:Like ManLibs.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:Did you know that we host live ManLibs every month on Twitch?
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:Tomorrow.
Speaker 1:Tone Warm, goofy and delightfully unpredictable.
Speaker 2:I thought you were going to say gooey Gooey, gooey Ew.
Speaker 1:Gross If you enjoy friendly banter, movie recaps and spontaneous silliness. Roasty Toasty Ghosty delivers all that and more with consistently fresh episodes. So that was the first part. Okay, I've been searching more than that.
Speaker 2:All right, what's next? Okay, did you ask questions.
Speaker 1:Okay, so I thought I wanted to know more about you, about me. What's next? Okay, did you ask questions? Okay, so I thought I wanted to know more about you, about me, yeah.
Speaker 2:Alright, you can't ask me directly, you have to ask OpenEyes.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because you don't know. No, I'm not going to answer you. You're not as smart as OpenEyes, no.
Speaker 2:I'm very closed.
Speaker 1:Yeah, because otherwise you wouldn't ask OpenEyes so often.
Speaker 2:Right, like you do, yeah.
Speaker 1:So give me facts about Lauren that few people knows.
Speaker 2:Right Few people knows it.
Speaker 1:Here are some fun lesser known facts about Lauren.
Speaker 2:All right, I'm excited to hear this. Maybe I don't even know these things.
Speaker 1:Okay, hidden gems about Lauren. Number one Jello shot spontaneity.
Speaker 2:Ooh, I love that episode.
Speaker 1:In episode 17,. I'm gonna forget all of this. Lauren and Matthias impulsively.
Speaker 2:Impulsively.
Speaker 1:Impulsively broke out jello shots mid-recording. Impulsively broke out jello shots mid-recording, leading to a wild on-air moment where she bounced between topics like impulsiveness and school bus rides.
Speaker 2:Maybe that happened.
Speaker 1:Yeah, maybe, who knows?
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, we were talking about our morning bus ride routines in school. Okay.
Speaker 1:And yeah, we did that while enjoying her fourth round of orange-flavored Jell-O shots.
Speaker 2:They were strawberry, but yes.
Speaker 1:Not no.
Speaker 2:No, they were orange. Okay, I don't know where I got those.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and fika, that's Finnish.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, yeah, I don't know where.
Speaker 1:I got those. Yeah and fika, that's.
Speaker 2:Finnish. Oh, okay, yeah, so now you know, all right. Well, I don't think we even mentioned the flavor of the jello shots. It was just jello shots with vodka.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but now we know it was orange, it was actually orange.
Speaker 2:That's one of my favorite episodes.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2:So I'm glad that it mentioned that.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so I'm glad that it mentioned that, especially in a fun fact about me.
Speaker 2:I randomly have jello shots throughout episodes. Few people knows that, but in most of the episodes If things take a sharp turn in the episode, I probably had a jello shot. Yeah, so number two she recorded an entire episode battling a stomach ache that is a fact and that was one of the worst episodes that I from one of the best to one of the worst that was awful episode 43 bad hip day featured Lauren pushing through a terrible stomach ache, apologizing for odd noises and even a misquoted reference.
Speaker 1:Yet she powered through, talked about her nine-year, Sweden anniversary, childbirth and and superhero identities, all while in pain yes, yeah, that happened. Oh, I like this, do the next one, okay number three she celebrated her birthday with 10 facts about lauren that's right.
Speaker 2:yeah, provided, provided by you.
Speaker 1:Yes, and this is kind of weird because it says on episode 133,. There have been a couple before, but yeah, this is the most recent one though. Yeah, On episode 133, the show turned into a birthday special, complete with surprises, squeaking in Swedish and a segment titled Ten Facts About Lauren that reveal quirks most listeners may not know.
Speaker 2:Yeah, so if you want even more lesser known facts about me, you should listen to that one.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but that's just from a simple tongue.
Speaker 2:Right. One of the people who knows me best?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I like this one. Okay, number four.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:She got a funny squeak reflex in Swedish.
Speaker 2:What? What's that? I don't know.
Speaker 1:Also on episode 133. Okay, lauren was squeaking in swedish. Uh, much to matthias's surprise, she shared this funny language quirk in a playful, borderline, passive-aggressive conversation about Swedish culture.
Speaker 2:Wow, all right, I might have to re-listen to that one, because I'm not sure about that.
Speaker 1:You've got a funny squeak reflex.
Speaker 2:Squeak reflex.
Speaker 1:In Swedish.
Speaker 2:In Swedish. All right, I'm going to have to do some research and come back to you on that one next week.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Or tomorrow, I don't know when I'll actually do it. Probably not tomorrow, no, next week.
Speaker 1:So number five, that's the last one of these.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Impulse-driven and highly spontaneous.
Speaker 2:Which are like the same thing, but okay.
Speaker 1:From jello shots to midnight movie ideas, Lauren's episodes often showcase her spontaneity. She's the spark that can turn any weekly check-in into something delightfully unpredictable.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I guess Okay, are there some about you?
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Can I read the ones about you?
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Okay, hidden gems about Matthias. Okay, number one he randomly switches to speaking Swedish on air, so during episode number 17,. Again, one of the best episodes ever in my opinion. I'm going to forget all of this. In the midst of sharing jello shots, matthias surprised both Lauren and listeners by suddenly launching into swedish a quirky language mix moment that caught everyone off guard.
Speaker 1:Yeah everyone, everyone was shocked. Yeah, headlines everywhere number two.
Speaker 2:He once rapped, or attempted to, on the show. Okay, do you remember this? No, all right, in episode number 22, talking Into a Microwave, matias dropped a self-proclaimed rapping moment mid-chat. It was playful, maybe a bit cheesy, but perfectly on brand for his off-the-cuff humor. This might have been the Ice Cube moment. Okay, when you rapped to Ice Cube.
Speaker 1:Okay, yeah, was that the first one in here?
Speaker 2:22? No.
Speaker 1:No, that was 18. Was that Okay, yeah?
Speaker 2:When it was echoey.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2:Yeah, okay, number three.
Speaker 1:He's impulsive and spontaneous, just like lauren. Are you, though? Uh, I don't know, semi, I think yeah, somewhat. I don't think you're on my level not as much as you.
Speaker 2:He's not just a reactor. Matthias dives headfirst into spur of the moment antics, whether it's jello shots, switching languages or jumping into new conversation topics right alongside Lauren. So you pretty much just follow my impulses.
Speaker 1:Yeah, really is what you do. That's it, but I like that it's stuck on the switching languages thing.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you switch languages all the time.
Speaker 1:Yeah, that's me. Yeah, matias, the language switcher.
Speaker 2:Right Number four. He once led a ghost keeping segment. Wait, hold on. In episode number 22, again during the weekly check in, matias talked about Matias Ghost Deeps, nicknamed Ghost Deeps. Yeah, a mysterious inside joke or mini segment just for loyal listeners, sure.
Speaker 1:Okay.
Speaker 2:Number five he's a master of, not sips. It doesn't say sips, which it should. We don't say that anymore.
Speaker 1:No, you're the master of sips. Yeah, I'm always that.
Speaker 2:For the algorithm or whatever. We're going to say that you're the master of sips?
Speaker 1:Yeah, was that the first episode.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I think so, or the second.
Speaker 1:Yeah, one of them.
Speaker 2:He's a master of playful banter with editing and tech. Also in episode number 22,. While discussing podcast structure, Matthias jokingly offered editing advice and even mused about adding distraction bells.
Speaker 1:Oh yeah Ding.
Speaker 2:Oh, okay, right, oh okay, right, and we have the bell now so that's cool yeah. A behind-the-scenes peek at his fun, creative side. So what makes these moments memorable? These facts reveal that Matias is more than just the comedic counterpart. He's spontaneously creative, occasionally multilingual and never dull His willingness.
Speaker 1:Okay, that look on your face Never dull. I don't know about that. This open eye's got a lot of things wrong.
Speaker 2:His willingness to rap, slip into Swedish and share quirky personal segments like ghost steeps turned the show into a lively, unexpected ride. And that's what I had to say about you.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's nice.
Speaker 2:It is nice to you.
Speaker 1:Yeah, to you too.
Speaker 2:I guess so.
Speaker 1:To you too, To you too. So after this one, I asked what's their personal life like?
Speaker 2:Okay, all right, tell me about my personal life.
Speaker 1:Yes, where they live and their lifestyle.
Speaker 2:I don't know Okay. But I'm going to tell you All right, tell me what Open Eyes has to say.
Speaker 1:Based in Stockholm, sweden, cool.
Speaker 2:Good to know.
Speaker 1:Yeah, based in Stockholm, sweden, cool, good to know, yeah, in episode 135, they chatted about their Stockholm adventures. That's true, yeah, including attending Green Day and other music festivals, which show they're pretty active in the local music scene.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 1:Frequent festival goers Are we?
Speaker 2:though I don't scene Okay Frequent festival goers.
Speaker 1:Are we, though? I don't know Okay. Mattias mentioned summer plans like going to amusement parks, cat cafes, strawberry picking and ice cream buffets in episode 22.
Speaker 2:I was the one talking about that, I think we mentioned wanting to go to an ice cream buffet yeah, but it feels like these are all your suggestions um, you might have had some say yeah, I, I usually follow you yeah what you're saying, but it here it seems like it was my ideas, okay but I think they
Speaker 2:were mostly you can take the credit, but I'm gonna say, off the side here, I think that most of them was my ideas. Okay, but I think they were mostly. You can take the credit, but I'm gonna say, off the side here, I think that most of them were my ideas yeah whatever you know we can share credit. I don't care okay I'm not upset should I leave? I mean, I don't know. You think this is all about you, don't?
Speaker 1:yeah, I mean, I guess it's my podcast, so maybe you should be the one.
Speaker 2:Yeah, you came up with all the ideas, I guess.
Speaker 1:Maybe you should leave. Yeah, or maybe I'll take the microphone.
Speaker 2:I'm not a part of this anymore. Just gonna take the microphone and walk away.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so he's the type to embrace spontaneous fun and new experiences.
Speaker 2:I guess you follow.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:You're a follower.
Speaker 1:Yeah, social and public persona.
Speaker 2:I don't know why this is about me all of a sudden, because Well, is it going to talk about me later, or is it only Matthias?
Speaker 1:It seems, yeah, it's really just about me now.
Speaker 2:Well, you can go through it and then ask it.
Speaker 1:Yeah, what's your personal?
Speaker 2:life yeah.
Speaker 1:Okay. Social and public persona Engages with fans.
Speaker 2:Do you?
Speaker 1:Yeah, I guess so Okay. A Reddit comment calling him a Matias fan account Reflects a small but dedicated following online.
Speaker 2:All right Okay.
Speaker 1:Has anyone said that? No?
Speaker 2:No, not that I've seen.
Speaker 1:No, no, okay, contact me. If you're a big fan of me, please send me, or send us a text about that. Or do people send us texts about being my fans and you're just?
Speaker 2:I throw those away. Yeah, trash can, trash can. Yep Don't care. Not interested has nothing to doash. Can? Yep Don't care. Not interested has nothing to do with me. I'm not allowed to open other people's mail, so I just throw it away, yeah.
Speaker 1:Multilingual flair Wow On air. He occasionally drops into Swedish mid-conversation, not just as a joke. Case in point during the Jell-O shot episode member 17.
Speaker 2:This is all the evidence you need, yeah.
Speaker 1:Just this one episode, yep.
Speaker 2:And suddenly you do that all the time.
Speaker 1:Yeah, personal interests Movie geek.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's right I would say so.
Speaker 1:Active collaborator in movie on. Yeah, you usually right. I would say so. Active collaborator in movie on yeah, you usually participate. Segments. I think I came up with that Movie on you did.
Speaker 2:I believe that was number six.
Speaker 1:Yay.
Speaker 2:It became a thing. Yeah, that's still, or eight, but yeah, yeah, yeah.
Speaker 1:That sticks to this day.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:It will always be here, I think.
Speaker 2:Until we run out of movie nights.
Speaker 1:I guess. So, reviewing everything from Jackie Chan flicks, rock of Ages, dragon Lord, a couple of Jackie Chan flicks, I guess.
Speaker 2:Yeah, Rock of Ages. I remember Jackie Chan being in that movie.
Speaker 1:Yeah To cult films, tim Curry being in that movie. Yeah To Cold Films Tim Curry movies, rocky Horror.
Speaker 2:Yeah, that's a good one. It is. I've seen that one, yeah, before.
Speaker 1:Do you like that movie?
Speaker 2:I enjoyed it. Yeah, it was okay.
Speaker 1:Good, cool Seasonal Adventurer.
Speaker 2:Yay.
Speaker 1:He mentioned plans for strawberry picking and ice cream buffets in warmer months. Okay, he's all about embracing simple joys and seasonal traditions Christmas, yeah. Quick summary of Matthias Trait Insight.
Speaker 2:Insight, yeah, okay.
Speaker 1:I guess you can see me, I can see you, I'm insight.
Speaker 2:You are At the moment. Yeah.
Speaker 1:Residency. Lives in Stockholm, enjoys live music and festivals.
Speaker 2:No, you don't.
Speaker 1:Spontaneity Jumps into rap, language switching and tech humor.
Speaker 2:I thought I was going to say like jumping in front of cars or something.
Speaker 1:Yeah, and tech humor, cool Fan connection. He has a niche but enthusiastic fan base online.
Speaker 2:Cool, let us know who you are, yeah.
Speaker 1:Let Really Be known. Yes, creative techie.
Speaker 2:Are you?
Speaker 1:I don't know, I don't think so. Actively involved in podcast production.
Speaker 2:I would hope so.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Otherwise I'd be sad.
Speaker 1:I do my best Movie and outdoors lover.
Speaker 2:At the same time, yeah.
Speaker 1:Enjoys diverse films, outdoor treats and seasonal fun.
Speaker 2:Yeah, okay, but what about me?
Speaker 1:Okay, what about me?
Speaker 2:Talk about me. Now Is it my turn.
Speaker 1:You can read it if you want, Okay let's make this fair. Yes, that we're both reading Okay.
Speaker 2:Okay, so here's some fun facts about me, okay? Yes, what's known about Lauren's personal life based on the show and her on-air reflections? Number one, sweden, resident for nearly a decade. Excuse me, I'm really sorry, it's been over a decade now.
Speaker 1:Mm-hmm.
Speaker 2:In episode number 43, bad Hip Day, lauren opened up about celebrating nine years of living in Sweden, touching on the challenges of adapting to a new country, learning Swedish and fitting into local culture, including the quirky Swedish habit of courtroom-style sitting. What does that mean?
Speaker 1:I don't know.
Speaker 2:Okay, I'm going to let you know that it's July right now, right?
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:July 11th 2025? Yeah, july 11th, 11th 2025.
Speaker 1:Yes, okay.
Speaker 2:In September I will be celebrating 11 years. So it's been over a decade. Yeah, Okay, Number two life-changing journey childbirth abroad. Wow, that makes it sound really exciting.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Honestly, I don't think it was Also in number 43. Yeah, number 43, she talked about having children, specifically an on-air mention of childbirth. Oh no, I mentioned childbirth what we're we're that controversial we are. I mentioned on-air childbirth.
Speaker 1:Yeah, you didn't do it, you just mentioned it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it would have been a different story if I had a child on the episode. That would be a lot of editing. Oh my goodness, and how that experience fit into her life in Sweden, offering listeners a glimpse into Swedish maternity practices and how she adjusted as a mom in a foreign country, which I'm going to say was not easy. Number three bilingual and cultural duality. I'm a dual citizen. Is really all they know about me.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it's a lot about that, all they know about me.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's a lot about that. Lauren regularly shares her language learning journey, making both charming and funny mistakes in Swedish. Wow thanks.
Speaker 1:Let's make fun of me while we're at it.
Speaker 2:Yeah, it's funny, yeah, Reflecting her ongoing efforts to blend her native roots with her life in Sweden. Blah blah, blah, blah, blah. Number four relaxed and relatable personal vibe. I really hope so. During that same episode, battling a stomach ache, she casually apologized for noises and misquotes, keeping it real and relatable for audiences. Even during awkward personal moments, I like to think that I'm a pretty real person. You know, I don't think I hold much back.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:If I'm thinking something, I'll let you know.
Speaker 1:Yeah, oh, yeah, I get to know everything.
Speaker 2:You know everything. Yeah, so a summary who Lauren is beyond the mic, adventurous and grounded, not afraid to uproot her life and thrive in a new country, makes me sound so brave.
Speaker 1:So, tough.
Speaker 2:I'm so cool I don't really see it that way, but motherhood in a foreign land? Cool Shares her real life experiences birth and raising kids as a newcomer, Bilingual life, integrating into Swedish culture while maintaining her roots and authentically human. Even during stomachaches or misquotes, she keeps it candid and lighthearted. So what was the next thing you had?
Speaker 1:No, I just asked what's next for us.
Speaker 2:All right, yeah, what are we gonna do next?
Speaker 1:Okay, so what's next for Lauren and Mattias? More Stockholm explorations and festival stories. Likely summer-themed fun. There might be more Stockholm adventures.
Speaker 2:Yes, there will be.
Speaker 1:But more like fall-themed fun.
Speaker 2:Fall-themed fun Fall-themed fun. Fall-th theme fun. Fall theme fun. Fall theme fun.
Speaker 1:Fall theme fun, okay, and more is continuing to unpack mental health topics in a conversational way. Cool, yep, apparently.
Speaker 2:That's kind of funny. Yeah, apparently, according to OpenEyes, I have all of the mental disorders, so really cool. Maybe we'll unpack that another time.
Speaker 1:And more. What to expect next is their trademark movie reviews and spontaneous segments, everything from snacks to Nordic traditions. Yeah, I mean movie reviews. I don't think we're gonna stop that anytime soon.
Speaker 2:That is the one thing that is guaranteed for every episode.
Speaker 1:Yes.
Speaker 2:Mentions of our recent activities and movies. Everything else is hit and miss, yeah, and movies.
Speaker 1:Everything else is hit and miss, yeah. And lastly, another wild improvisational Mad Libs live on Twitch.
Speaker 2:Which we will be doing tomorrow.
Speaker 1:Tomorrow.
Speaker 2:Did I mention that we have live Mad Libs once every month on Twitch?
Speaker 1:You might have All right, but that's okay, you can do that more times.
Speaker 2:You want me to tell you again.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I need to take a sip because I'm the master of it.
Speaker 2:You're the master of sips.
Speaker 1:Yes, I am, and while I'm doing that, you can tell the people.
Speaker 2:Matias is the master of sips.
Speaker 1:I thought you were going to tell them about the mad libs.
Speaker 2:We have live mad libs every month on Twitch.
Speaker 1:Good, I think that's all I had actually.
Speaker 2:That was fun.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I enjoyed that, okay, good.
Speaker 2:Unless you want to do another question.
Speaker 1:Do you?
Speaker 2:want? I'm not sure. I have to think now. Ask if you've ever had a bad day on the podcast.
Speaker 1:There's no widely agreed upon worst episode for Mattias. He hasn't publicly named one, and listener rankings like Good Pods or Podicy don't highlight any Mattias-specific low point. Instead, this seems to be more individual than communal Episodes, with noticeable rough patches for Mattias. Okay, episode 24, burgers by the Veterinarian. Mm-hmm. Mattias mentions getting foot cramps mid-episode.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 1:Which he jokes about, but seems to have disrupted his flow and energy during the recording.
Speaker 2:Mm, this has happened. Yeah, a few times I feel like it's not been the one.
Speaker 1:No, A few times yes.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Episode 111, a Somewhat Intelligent Bum Right. Intelligent bum Right. The hosts finish this one with an unusually abrupt and repetitive sign-off. Some fans feel it drags near the end, though Mattias doesn't appear personally affected.
Speaker 2:Okay, I don't remember that, no, okay.
Speaker 1:Okay, so it dragged.
Speaker 2:All right.
Speaker 1:Yeah, those are the examples, but it also has another question what makes an episode feel worst? For Mattias, the more cringeworthy moments aren't bombs, but rather minor mishaps, Physical distractions like cramps, or episodes that end awkwardly.
Speaker 2:Mm yeah, I guess so.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay.
Speaker 2:How about we turn it around?
Speaker 1:Okay, what about.
Speaker 2:for me, what about Lauren? I mean, my stomach ache is obviously gonna be the first one, yeah.
Speaker 1:That's the only one.
Speaker 2:I can think of.
Speaker 1:And did you wanna? Uh, I can if you want. Yeah.
Speaker 2:Oh boy, only one I can think of. Did you wanna? Uh, I can if you want. Yeah, oh boy. Episodes with awkward moments for lauren is also episode number 24 burgers by the veterinarian. During this chat, lauren and matias discussed childhood memories, halloween decorations and movie reviews, but midway lauren seems slightly sidelined as matias suffers a foot cramp. Not exactly her fault, but it disrupted the usual flow and back and forth dynamic, so you messed up that episode.
Speaker 1:That darn foot cramp.
Speaker 2:Ruined everything.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it made the worst episode.
Speaker 2:Episode number 94, brought to you by the word procrastination. This episode leans heavily on light banter about things like friday the 13th, superstitions and ripped pants. Many fans have described it as silly and a bit low energy. There's no embarrassing moment, but it lacks the usual spark. All right, fine, sorry sorry, fans so is there a worst lauren episode? No major train wrecks, nothing disastrous or cringe worthy. These lean episodes are more like filler than fails. Yeah, listeners generally note chemistry or storyline hiccup, not anything glaringly bad I'm just gonna ask one thing one more thing, one, one more thing, one more thing.
Speaker 1:Okay, so I didn't really get an answer, but the question I wrote was how and where did Lauren and Mattias first meet?
Speaker 2:Okay. And I thought I know we've told this story before.
Speaker 1:Yeah, but what it first said. Their podcast episodes primarily focus on their shared experiences and humorous discussions, without delving into detailed personal histories or the origins of their relationship.
Speaker 2:Really.
Speaker 1:That's not true, though.
Speaker 2:No.
Speaker 1:Yeah, so then I'll just guess.
Speaker 2:Yeah, I told you to guess, you can guess.
Speaker 1:Alright time to put on my imaginative hat.
Speaker 2:Cool.
Speaker 1:Given their chemistry and the vibe of Roasty, toasty, ghosty, I'd guess Lauren and Mattias probably met through a mutual interest, maybe a local podcast meetup, a quirky film screening or even a social event tied to the Stockholm arts or comedy scene, love for weird movies and spontaneous adventures which naturally led them to start their own podcast together.
Speaker 2:I don't know. No, I mean, the only mutual thing about us meeting was needing money.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:A job.
Speaker 1:Yeah, we met at the job. At work, yeah, at work, where we worked Right At work, yeah, at work, where we worked Right At work where we worked. We worked together for many years.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:Or a few years at least.
Speaker 2:Yeah, and I don't think we really clicked at first.
Speaker 1:No, the first time we met. I don't even know if you noticed me.
Speaker 2:I don't know, probably not no.
Speaker 1:No.
Speaker 2:You probably just blended in with the people, because I don't recognize people easily.
Speaker 1:No, but the thing is that you were probably the first person who talked to me when I got back.
Speaker 2:Oh yeah, Because I did remember you.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:Because we both had a little break from this job and I ended up working somewhere else.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And you had an interview there and I and a friend of mine, ours came and said hi to you while you were waiting for your interview. So then, when you came back, I remembered you, and we eventually sat next to each other or at least across from each other, at the same table during breaks and.
Speaker 1:I think you thought I was kind of boring.
Speaker 2:You were monotone.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:That was my impression of you. And then this one time you made like a sex joke or something.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was an inappropriate joke. Yeah, a crude joke.
Speaker 2:I thought it was really funny and I guess you caught my attention.
Speaker 1:Yeah, it was not what you expected.
Speaker 2:No, not at all no. And then I was like I want to know more.
Speaker 1:Now, you expect that from me. Yeah, now you know me.
Speaker 2:Tell me a joke. Funny person.
Speaker 1:Yeah, okay Sex. Yep, that's always a laugh riot, that's my best joke.
Speaker 2:That's always a laugh riot, that's my best joke. So, yeah, Then I just I wanted to get to know you better because I realized, like I don't really know much about you at all.
Speaker 1:No yeah.
Speaker 2:And yeah. You got to know me better. We started watching movies together and now we have a podcast.
Speaker 1:Yeah.
Speaker 2:And we still watch movies and we go on adventures.
Speaker 1:We have a podcast, yeah, and we still watch movies and we go on adventures and we yeah, yeah, I mean we always had very fun around our table and we always thought about this would make a good podcast.
Speaker 2:Yeah.
Speaker 1:But I guess you and I were the only ones interested in that idea.
Speaker 2:Well, I thought that our conversations specifically were the funniest.
Speaker 1:Okay, you and I, yeah, okay, yes, yeah, the other people, nah, no, no, okay, that's okay, I like our conversations. Yeah.

Speaker 1:That means we're all out of episode.

Speaker 1:what's ruining my life?
Speaker 2:that's what I asked. Okay, you heard me.
Speaker 1:Yeah, I I thought you meant what about my bodily body?
Speaker 2:Is that embarrassing you too? Maybe Okay, no.
