Cold Open & Hydration Confessions
SPEAKER_06In a world where everything is unscripted, this is roasty toast, roasty are you ready? Are I ready?
SPEAKER_02Are you ready?
SPEAKER_06I are ready.
SPEAKER_02How about now? Yes.
SPEAKER_06Can we open this up? We can open this up.
SPEAKER_02You can open this up.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_01You do it.
SPEAKER_06Stop laughing. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_01Funk.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_01So I have this problem. Okay.
SPEAKER_02I'm drinking water and I have this uh issue in which I drink my water too fast.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02So I prepare myself like water in my water bottle. I'm like, this is gonna last me a while, and then I drink it all. Like right after I think I'm gonna hold on to this for a while.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Because then I I like take a sip, be like, ooh, I like that. I like the water. So I I drink the rest. Okay. And then it's gone.
SPEAKER_06I mean, that's better than uh because uh I mean that's me and like candy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. Or snacks. I I need candy. Yeah, take one and then it's gone. Yeah. The rest of it.
SPEAKER_06I got a whole bowl full now. It's gonna take me a while. Five minutes later. Empty bowl. Bow bowl. Bowl. That's a difficult word for me.
SPEAKER_01It is bowl.
SPEAKER_06Because uh I make it sound like ball.
SPEAKER_02It's an empty bowl.
SPEAKER_06Bowl.
SPEAKER_02I mean I guess there's worse problems I can have. I'm I'm gonna I'm gonna confess something. Okay. Okay. So if I go over to someone's house and they ask me if I want something to drink, like, yes, I would like some water. I'd like a glass of water. And they're like, okay, uh, and they gave they give me a glass of water and I I down the whole thing right then and there. Even though I'm sure that they're expecting me to just sip it over time.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I like I get really thirsty. So I have to drink the whole thing. And so I down this glass of water, and then I don't want to be like, okay, but uh can I have some more?
SPEAKER_06You're like, shut, shut, shut, shut.
SPEAKER_02No, that's not even what I'm thinking. I'm just thinking, I'm gonna have some water, and then I I just like I do, I chug the whole thing. Yeah, and then it's gone, and then I want more water, but yeah. Yeah, okay. I guess if I'm so desperate, I'll just get up and get more myself. Anyway, okay. Fun stories.
SPEAKER_06You know, I think it's kind of funny that we didn't have warm-ups, but when we started, we started having warm-ups.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, yeah. It was just something that came up in my head. Um, I I feel like m my uh the way I respond to my glass of water isn't what's expected.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Yeah. I just drink it really quick. Yeah, I don't have that problem.
SPEAKER_02You don't drink water.
SPEAKER_06I don't.
SPEAKER_02You don't hydrate.
SPEAKER_06That's why I don't have that problem.
SPEAKER_01I guess.
SPEAKER_06Makes sense.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Uh no, but uh it's more snacks for me.
SPEAKER_01Mm. You get snacky.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I have that problem with snacks. Cause when I have candy or whatever, I I'm like, how fast can I get this down in my stomach? You know?
SPEAKER_01I think that's that's not good.
Meet The Hosts & Show Vibe
SPEAKER_06No, I know. But uh I just want it to be inside me, you know? I'm sure. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I guess so. That's what happens when you eat.
SPEAKER_01Uh yes.
SPEAKER_06Hello and welcome to Roasty Toasty Ghosty. My name is Matias.
SPEAKER_01I'm Lauren. And I'm Lauren.
SPEAKER_06Lauren.
SPEAKER_01I'm Lauren.
SPEAKER_06You're Warren?
SPEAKER_01I'm Lauren.
SPEAKER_02Lauren with an L. And the rest is Orin. Shh. Oh, Oren.
SPEAKER_06Lauren.
SPEAKER_01No, I'm not an orange.
SPEAKER_06Uh funny. Uh okay, no. Uh hello Lauren. Hello. Um.
SPEAKER_02Hello.
SPEAKER_06Welcome, Lauren.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. Welcome yourself.
SPEAKER_06Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Back. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yes. Thank you.
SPEAKER_03You're welcome.
SPEAKER_06We are gonna be your besties for an hour or so. Yep. Yep. This is a great podcast.
SPEAKER_02It is. Like one of the best.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Some people would say that. Where some people we are.
SPEAKER_02Some of those people.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh this is the podcast in which you'll learn nothing at all.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, it is.
SPEAKER_02But still come back for more. Because we are irresistible.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What are we gonna say next? No one knows. We don't even know.
SPEAKER_06No. That's funny, because we never have scripts. Yeah, that's true. Anything. How are you doing? Hey Lauren.
SPEAKER_02Hey!
SPEAKER_06How are you doing?
SPEAKER_02I'm good. How are you?
SPEAKER_06I'm good.
SPEAKER_02Good.
SPEAKER_06Good. Okay, that was that.
SPEAKER_02Alright.
SPEAKER_06Uh how Let's take a break. Yeah. How was your week?
Weekend Recap: Kids, Sports, And Live Stream
SPEAKER_02My week was it was alright. Yeah. Kinda busy. I mean, there's like sometimes my week feels really busy, but then sometimes it feels like I'm not doing anything at all.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02I have like really busy moments and then like way too calm moments. So uh last weekend my daughter had a competition in gymnastics. Oh yeah. Yes. Um, and it went well. We got up really early and we uh went to the competition we watched, but it was her first competition ever, so they didn't really get places, you know. But the judges were still taking down points. So I got to hear from our judge because every team has to present a or provide a judge.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02Right?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, so uh our judge came to me uh later on in the week and she told me that our group had actually gotten fourth place, but there was another team uh from the same gymnastics club, whatever, uh, that got first.
SPEAKER_00Oh.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02I mean, everyone got a medal.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And like the placings and everything weren't really like official. They were just they were done for fun, pretty much. Um so that happened, and my oldest had his first boxing match the same day, but that was while I was at the competition. So um I missed it and I felt really bad. Yeah and I asked his father to film for me. Have I seen this film yet? No, I haven't.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02But uh I did talk to my oldest later that evening, and well, I called him and he said that he did not win, but he was uh two points behind.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02So whatever that means, it wasn't great for him. But I mean he he still had fun. It was his first one uh first match, and I think it probably went well. Yeah. I don't know. Okay. Uh that was my Saturday.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I was at home waiting for food because then I was gonna come to you.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. Oh yeah, we we we did that.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So uh yeah. Uh I um ev or eventually was ready for you to come pick me up.
SPEAKER_02And then we had live mad libs.
SPEAKER_06Yes, we did.
SPEAKER_02And I think it went well.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. You also shaved my head.
SPEAKER_02I did. I shaved your head, and then we went live, we played some mad libs with our audience.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And it was fun. Thanks to the people who joined us.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Thank you, person.
Announcing Drunk Christmas Karaoke Live
SPEAKER_02Um, our next live mad libs is gonna be on December 13th, which is Lucia.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And it's a special event for the podcast, really.
SPEAKER_06For special people.
SPEAKER_02For special people. We're gonna do drunk Christmas karaoke live mad libs. Yeah. Which is a mouthful. I can I I have difficulties with the title, but that is as specific as I can get.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, this is the third year.
SPEAKER_02Our third karaoke. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Cool.
SPEAKER_02And it's always fun. Yeah. Oh my gosh, we have so much fun. Uh, every year. Uh, I believe there is one line that still sticks in my head, and it was from one of my songs. Oh, I had last Christmas. I had a really funny line, but I don't think I'm gonna say that here. I I knew that there was one line that just broke everything.
SPEAKER_03I like tore down the microphone and everything.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it was good.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But I believe you can find the recording of last year's Christmas karaoke on YouTube.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So uh go do that because it's a fun time. Anyway, that was Saturday. We also had Sunday.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What did I do? I uh brought my daughter to her gymnastics. She had training uh again uh even after her competition on Saturday, but she wanted me to watch her, so I stayed there and I watched her, and then I ended up working, of course. Because for some reason I can't just sit at these things, I have to be a part of it. Uh so I assisted in spotting some of the girls and maybe playing a little bit as well. Yeah. I got pressured into showing off my skills.
SPEAKER_05Ah, okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I stayed home. Oh. I think. Yeah. And uh then yeah, uh that was Sunday, right?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Well, I also went to my gymnastics class later that evening. So I went into town twice.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02I had fun and I hurt my toe. So yeah, that's usually how it goes. So uh how'd the week go for you?
SPEAKER_06Uh been at work the entire week. I it went well. It's been a fairly good week at work.
SPEAKER_02Good. It's been tough waking up.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Especially because you were sick last week, right? Yeah. So not only were you working day shift, exactly. You also hadn't worked for a week.
SPEAKER_05True.
SPEAKER_02So it must have been tough.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and uh you have to like reset your sleeping pattern every other week. Yeah. That's messed up.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. My week?
SPEAKER_06Your week? How was it?
Weekly Life Updates & Work Rhythms
SPEAKER_02It went well. I went to an old colleague's house on Monday, and we were supposed to grill.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02But the majority of the people wanted to stay inside because dark and cold and rainy. Oh yeah. We didn't want to grill outside. So we uh quote unquote grilled inside on the stove.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And Sick Child was there, and my life partner and Sick Child became really good friends with my old colleague. And yeah, it was it was nice, it was fun. Everyone tolerated Sick Child and his bursts of energy. And he just wanted to show off.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Uh Tuesday I uh led spinning. It was fun. Wednesday, my daughter made me go swimming with her, always fun. Yesterday was Thursday. What happened then? Oh, I went to gymnastics. I taught gymnastics and I got help this time, so it went better.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Than the past couple of weeks. So, I mean, my week's been pretty good. Yeah. And I got a good grade on my math test today. So I'm I'm feeling pretty good.
SPEAKER_06Good.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and today is Friday. Oh, yes, it is.
SPEAKER_02You wanna know what we did today?
SPEAKER_06Yes, I do.
SPEAKER_02We w uh we wanted to watch movies.
SPEAKER_06We wanted to.
SPEAKER_02We wanted to. We didn't get to.
SPEAKER_06Until later.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, we watched movies.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Um, would you like to move on?
SPEAKER_06Let's move on.
SPEAKER_02What?
SPEAKER_06Let's move on. Right.
SPEAKER_02Tonight we watched the Breakfast Club and Mexican Mel Gibson.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Yeah. It's uh called Get the Gringo.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06But I kinda like another title that it has.
SPEAKER_02Uh, Mex Gibson.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, Mex Gibson. That's what it's called.
SPEAKER_02That's what it should be called.
SPEAKER_06Mex Gringo.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_06Um, um how I spent my summer vacation.
SPEAKER_02Interesting. That sounds like opposite of what it should be.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Um the kind of fun title for a serious movie. Yeah, for this kind of movie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, that sounds like a comedy.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I'd be disappointed if I went to see this movie expecting it to be a comedy, and then it's just all serious. Like, what's this? I mean, sure, there was a couple of funny points. Anyway, uh we're we're gonna we're gonna talk about the Breakfast Club. Yeah. Anyway. We'll get to Mexican Mel Gibson later.
SPEAKER_00But Gibson.
SPEAKER_02Mex Gibson. I'm gonna talk about the break break break break break.
SPEAKER_06Break break break break break.
Movie Night Setup
SPEAKER_02Break break break break into chickens here. Okay, okay. The Breakfast Club is what you're gonna tell me about.
SPEAKER_06Oh yeah, yes I am.
SPEAKER_02We started with that movie, and you get to tell me what is that.
SPEAKER_06Uh this movie stars. Okay, Judd Nelson has like the biggest role.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevis, of course, Anthony Michael Hall, Paul Gleason, and the other girl Alice. Ellie Yeah. Ellie Sheedy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. This is a John Hughes movie. It's about a group of youths get like detention on a Saturday. They have very strict supervisor guy guy. I don't know why I'm so low, but yeah, they have their own personalities. Or at least Judd Nelson's character is kind of a rebellious kid. They're supposed to write an essay, or but they don't really do that. They have other things they talk about or do instead. And yeah, what do I miss?
The Breakfast Club: Plot & Themes
SPEAKER_02Let's see. Basically they're there for like eight hours, right? And they pretty much kill the time by getting to know each other and it gets a little dramatic. And uh I mean they're kids, so they're gonna try to have some fun.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02As well. Yeah, you said that Judd Nelson is a bit rebellious, but in a way, if you think about it, they're all kind of rebellious in their own ways.
SPEAKER_06He's the most open about it.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. That's basically it, I think.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. It's kind of difficult to give a synopsis to this one. Or or like lengthy without going into what they're talking about. But I think you'll have to see the movie if you want.
SPEAKER_02If you haven't, then you have to.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. So what do you think about this movie?
SPEAKER_02I uh love this movie. This is definitely a favorite. Okay. At least like top hundred, because I mean, I have a lot of favorite movies.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02This movie I I saw it first in my sociology class in high school.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02We were supposed to uh like keep an eye on the differences between the kids and uh yeah, their personalities and their problems and uh the drama in their lives.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Basically.
SPEAKER_06Because it feels like they're from like different social groups.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Every single one of them.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. You've got the brain, the athlete, the basket case, the princess, and the criminal.
SPEAKER_04Or rebel.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. They all come from different social statuses, they're in different cliques at school, and yeah. They're all different, but in a way they're all kind of suffering. They're all um unsatisfied with their home lives. And that's the one thing that they have in common. And that's kind of what they bond over.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. What did you think about this movie?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it's kind of fun. I haven't seen the entire thing before.
SPEAKER_02This is your first time.
SPEAKER_06Seeing the entire thing, yes. I've seen I think that like the only thing I've seen is the dance scene, actually.
SPEAKER_02Oh, okay. Did you like it?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I did.
SPEAKER_02Okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I have another question.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
Which Character Are You
SPEAKER_02Was there one of the characters, uh the kids that you related to the most, whether it be now or when you were in high school? Who did you relate to the most?
SPEAKER_06I think I relate most to Anthony Michael Hall, the nerd.
SPEAKER_01Okay, yeah. Alright.
SPEAKER_06That was me. Who was you? Okay. Who were you?
SPEAKER_01Who am I? Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Who are you?
SPEAKER_00Who are you?
SPEAKER_02Um, I related mostly to the basket case.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02You know, it's kind of funny because I did feel like really dark at the time. You uh probably couldn't really see it at first. Because I didn't like always dress up all like dark and goth. I mean, there were some times I did, but mostly it was like a band t-shirt and some jeans. Yeah. Right? That was my style. But um, so like I had this dark, sad personality, but I was a cheerleader at the same time.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I was like conflicting. I was conflicting, yeah. Kind of a walking contradiction, if you think about it. So uh I knew how to fake a smile, which I don't know, can be kind of dangerous sometimes. But um, yeah, I I wasn't nearly as artistic as this girl was. No. But I was artistic in a way, at a lower level. Yeah. My own way. And yeah, uh yeah. I I guess I also felt kind of alone.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Because her problem at home was that her parents ignored her. Maybe sometimes I felt the same.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I'm not very much like the nerd guy, but then again, I don't see anyone else that I'm more like. Because I'm not s the sporty kind and I'm not the the criminal. No, I'm I don't think I'm any of the girls either.
SPEAKER_02No, you weren't super popular.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02But you weren't completely alone either.
SPEAKER_06No. So I think that the nerd guy was most how I was. But uh with that said, I never had a gun in my locker. Or was it flare gun?
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but did you like strive for the highest grades?
SPEAKER_06No, absolutely not.
SPEAKER_02No, and you didn't feel the pressure to do that either.
SPEAKER_06No, absolutely not.
SPEAKER_02But you were generally neutral in a group of other kids.
SPEAKER_06And kind of like the the shyness in him I can feel. Cause he he felt a little bit shy.
SPEAKER_00Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06That that was awkward. Yeah, that that was me. I don't know w why, but uh I got a little bit annoyed with the Judd Nelson character.
SPEAKER_01Oh yeah?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I didn't really like him that much.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06But maybe that's cause I didn't have the best connection with those type of people.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Did he strike a nerve?
SPEAKER_06Maybe.
SPEAKER_02Some trauma in your life.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Okay. I I don't know. What's funny though is that the Emilio Esteves character, the sporty guy, he kinda looks like w a guy I knew who was a wrestler.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_06And we were good friends until he decided that he's too cool for me and my other friend.
SPEAKER_01Oh, okay.
SPEAKER_06Uh that's the guy who kind of just ran away from just disappeared. Yeah, he he didn't want to hang out with us anymore.
SPEAKER_02Hmm. Alright.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's it. I think. Did you have anything else? Is it one character you don't like?
SPEAKER_02I never really cared for the princess, Claire.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, no. Uh that's kind of funny that you really didn't like Judd Nelson's character because I really like him. Uh huh. I think he's funny. Oh. Uh, but yeah, no, that's just me. And I don't know. Always been into the rebels.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. No, I I I never liked those types of characters.
SPEAKER_02No.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02Well, I really like this movie. It's a classic. I enjoy it a lot.
SPEAKER_06Good.
Get The Gringo: Prison Chaos & Clint Bits
SPEAKER_02Is that all?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I think so.
SPEAKER_02I'm gonna tell you about um the Mel de Gringo. Mel de Gringo.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um what?
SPEAKER_06Get the Gringo.
SPEAKER_02Get the Gringo. And this is a movie with Mel Gibson. And he is a prisoner. Right. Yeah. Uh shocker. He keeps doing this, right?
SPEAKER_06Last week he was stalone.
SPEAKER_02Oh, right. We've got lots of people going to prison.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh Mel Gibson happens to be one of them, but it was a pretty chill prison.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh he was in Mexico.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And he became friends with a little boy who uh was really important within the prison. Yeah, it's his mom was the prisoner. He just happened to be there, I guess.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It definitely didn't seem like a prison.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02So there's some bad guys. They want to take the little boy's liver, and Mel Gibson beats up the bad guys. Yeah. Also, he pretends to be Clint Eastwood and he throws grenades at bad guys, and those were the best parts. Yeah. Which were also the funny parts of the movie.
SPEAKER_06Him impersonating Clint Eastwood was so funny.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It was very funny.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02What did you think about the movie?
SPEAKER_06It was a while since I last saw this one. I think it's okay. It's pretty good. It wasn't what I remembered it. I don't know. I remembered it slightly different. Right now I can't really say why. I did like it though. I also like that um Hamilton, the Swedish Hamilton.
SPEAKER_01Hamilton.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Is in this one. Peter Stormeier. He's not in it for long though, but uh He was there. Yeah, he was there. So I like that. It was fun. I don't know. Uh what did you think?
SPEAKER_02What did I think of this movie? I I enjoyed it. I could keep up with it, which is more than I can say about a lot of the movies. Feels like sometimes that are on your side.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02But this one kept my attention. Yeah. So I liked it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. It was funny and interesting and exciting and uh adjectives and I liked it. Those are some adjectives that you can use for Mad Libs. Yeah. If you chose to do so. If you chose to participate.
SPEAKER_06Which I do.
SPEAKER_02Uh what did you think of the movie? Uh I did you already answer this question?
SPEAKER_06I I did. I Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Just a recap real quick. Did you like it, yes or no?
SPEAKER_06I did like it.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Did you have anything else to say about the movie?
SPEAKER_06It's directed by the same guy who directed the last Rambo movie.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Rambo 5, No More Blood.
SPEAKER_06The Last Blood.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. I was close.
SPEAKER_06Or just Last Blood, I think. Oh. Rambo, Last Blood.
SPEAKER_02Oh, not No More Blood.
SPEAKER_06No, but almost.
SPEAKER_02I was really close. For a guess.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02That was good. Cool. That was cool. A fun fact.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Any more of those?
SPEAKER_06The guy who he um blows up the office for.
SPEAKER_01Mm-hmm.
SPEAKER_06That guy, the the guy with the glasses, the older guy.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_06He's in Shawshank Redemption. He placed the warden in that. Uh do you know what Shawshank Redemption is?
SPEAKER_02Have we seen it?
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02Okay, no.
SPEAKER_06I it's a prison movie.
SPEAKER_01Oh.
SPEAKER_06From 94. Yeah, I think it's kind of funny that uh he's in that prison movie and now he's in this prison movie.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
Trivia, Casting, And Comparisons
SPEAKER_06But maybe that was the That was on purpose. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Mm-mm.
SPEAKER_02Hmm. Have to research.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Maybe. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Maybe the makers of this movie didn't know that he was in another prison movie.
SPEAKER_02Maybe. Maybe he kept it a secret.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Alright, is that all?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Would you like to take a break?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, let's take a break.
SPEAKER_02Okay. We'll be right back.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. See you soon.
SPEAKER_02Bye.
SPEAKER_06And we're back.
SPEAKER_02Hello. We are back.
SPEAKER_06We are.
SPEAKER_02Yes. Are we just gonna jump into this or did you want to distract with something else?
SPEAKER_06We can jump into it.
SPEAKER_02We're jumping in. Okay. Matthias.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_02It is nearing it it's like halfway through uh November, right? Yeah. And uh you know what's coming up?
SPEAKER_06No, I have no idea.
SPEAKER_02No idea. Okay. Thanksgiving is coming up.
SPEAKER_06Oh, okay, cool.
SPEAKER_02Uh we s we live in Sweden for people who are listening for the first time.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And uh we do celebrate Thanksgiving, but only because I'm American. Yes. Uh but this year we're gonna think we're gonna Thanksgiving next week.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Uh 22nd. Little bit early.
Mid-Episode Break
SPEAKER_02We're gonna have an early Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I I mean I I haven't done the Thanksgiving thing before meeting you.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_06So I'm fairly new to this.
SPEAKER_02This is your third Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, right?
SPEAKER_02With me. Right.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, well, ever.
SPEAKER_02Ever. Ever, ever.
SPEAKER_06It's like I'm three.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. This is Thanksgiving for a three-year-old.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
Thanksgiving 101 For A Swede
SPEAKER_02Uh so what I'm gonna do today is I'm gonna teach you about Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06Good.
SPEAKER_02Okay?
SPEAKER_06It's good to train the three-year-olds.
SPEAKER_02I'm yes. Um, I've already told you the story behind Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, the history.
SPEAKER_02The history. Uh a couple times in uh a few different ways.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, both both the first one and the second one.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06And something like that.
SPEAKER_02I've told the story three times though, right?
SPEAKER_06Uh I think so, but I don't remember how it was last time.
SPEAKER_02No. The first time. Yeah, the second time, kinda the last no, I don't remember at all what we said. I'm gonna have to re-listen to last year's anniversary episode. Which we'll be doing next week for a sneak peek, I guess. Yeah. Um, a subtle hint of the plans. Anyway, Matthias, please tell me what do you what is Thanksgiving? If you were to explain to me what Thanksgiving is, do that now, please.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02I don't know words.
SPEAKER_06This is m me trying to explain movies. I don't know. I'm the movie nerd and I can't explain movies. But uh okay, explain Thanksgiving. You're the Thanksgiving nerd.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, but if you were to guess.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02So from So in a way it's kind of switched. So uh you are me uh explaining a movie. Okay.
SPEAKER_06Okay. So Thanksgiving. That's uh to me it feels almost like um an early Christmas.
SPEAKER_01Okay. In which ways?
SPEAKER_06Inviting friends and family and uh uh eating dinner and uh being happy and that's a requirement is being happy.
SPEAKER_02There's no drama ever during the The holidays.
SPEAKER_06Eating a bird. Well, yeah, we don't really do that for Christmas.
SPEAKER_02But eat pigs.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Eat an animal.
SPEAKER_03An animal. Pig an animal. And eat it.
SPEAKER_06Watch movies. Yeah, that's uh and then uh do some um what is it called? The board games or yeah. Yeah, that's what we usually do.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06From my past experiences.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Okay, so as we usually do, uh we ask OpenEyes its opinion here.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I told OpenAI to teach Matthias about Thanksgiving. And it said, uh, here's a friendly, kid-appropriate explanation you can share with Matias.
SPEAKER_06Perfect for a three-year-old.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, assuming Matthias is a child. So what is Thanksgiving? It is a holiday celebrated mainly in the United States and Canada. It's a special day for giving thanks for the good things in our lives, like family, friends, food, and fun.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02So uh like I already touched on, I've told you the history. Uh we all know that's the real story.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But this is what open eyes is telling me. Oh. The history of Thanksgiving. Yeah. So it says a long time ago, in 1621, a group of English settlers called the Pilgrims had a big feast with the Wampanoag uh Native Americans. Not the Amindians, but Native Americans.
SPEAKER_06Okay. Yeah, see, they already got it wrong.
SPEAKER_02The Wampanoag uh helped the pilgrims learn how to grow food in their new home. After the harvest, they all shared a meal together to celebrate. This idea of sharing and being thankful eventually became Thanksgiving. We all know how that ended, though.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And the rock uh apparently came way before this. Oh. The rock that the pilgrims crashed into. Um, okay. So how do people celebrate today? Uh traditionally, most families eat a big meal together. Like turkey, potatoes, corn, pumpkin pie, and cranberries. And we have them. We have the turkey, we have mashed potatoes, we also have sweet potatoes. Yeah. Mashed sweet potatoes. Uh corn comes in the form of muffins, which is the preferred form of corn. Pumpkin pie and cranberries. And the cranberries we haven't had before because for some reason I'm terrified of them. But this year, or last year, it was suggested that we have cranberry jello shots. So that's something we're gonna try this year.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02And uh who suggested it? Someone.
SPEAKER_04Okay. Yeah, that person.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Um, I can't tell you.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_02I remember it being brought up, but I can't tell you what the scenario was and who was involved in this conversation.
SPEAKER_05Was it a dream?
Traditions: Food, Parades, Films, And Sports
SPEAKER_02I might have had a dream of cranberry jello shots. Alright, what else do people do? They spend time with family and friends, watch parades, play games, or enjoy sports. And talk about.
SPEAKER_06Never try that.
SPEAKER_02No. And they talk about what they're thankful for.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So the big message is basically Thanksgiving is really about gratitude, noticing good things and appreciating them. It's also a time to be kind, help others, and enjoy being together. Okay, so any questions about that?
SPEAKER_06No. I I think I pretty much nailed it.
SPEAKER_02I feel like we cover most of that for Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Maybe we should start playing football.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Maybe.
SPEAKER_02There should probably be a point during the day when I send everyone out to play football.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Or wrestling.
SPEAKER_02No. We don't have to wrestle. No.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Uh so the traditions. I already touched on this, but I'm gonna go through it again in case I need to go into details on these things. So we've got the dinner, which is the main event.
SPEAKER_05Yes.
SPEAKER_02Uh the family gathering. Um, people often help cook together or set the table in a festive way. And then after eating, many enjoyed board games, puzzles, or relaxing together.
SPEAKER_06Do we have game for this year?
SPEAKER_02I believe so. What it was, I don't remember.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02Parades and entertainment with the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade. Uh, it's a big tradition. Usually we have our Thanksgiving after the actual Thanksgiving, the Saturday after. But this year we're having it the Saturday before. So there will be no parade to watch.
SPEAKER_06Unless we watch other years.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, of course. And I love watching like the firsts. Like I've said before in other episodes, I like the firsts of like the movies and stuff. It's the same thing with the parades.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02Like anything firsts, especially if it's like really, really old.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02I'm into it.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Except for the first like audio recording. Creepy. Don't like it. Don't care for it.
SPEAKER_06Okay. So you listen to that?
SPEAKER_02I think I have heard like a really old audio recording. I don't know if it's the first first, but it's up there. And it was creepy. I didn't care for it. But yeah, the Thanksgiving parades, they started what, 50s, 60s maybe?
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02I don't know. But they were black and white. When did color start?
SPEAKER_06I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Anyway, yeah, we can watch past parades.
SPEAKER_05We can do that.
SPEAKER_02Uh some families watch Thanksgiving movies or special TV episodes.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And we watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Yeah. All the turkeys in the oven.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, and we also at least once watched Free Birds.
SPEAKER_02Right. We did that. And then we lost it.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Where'd it go?
SPEAKER_05I don't know.
SPEAKER_02Not good. Uh sports traditions. Watching American football games, especially the teams that play every year on Thanksgiving Day. Uh, some communities hold turkey trot morning races or fun runs.
SPEAKER_05Okay.
SPEAKER_02So they start their day by going on a marathon. All right. Well, it sounds like fun. It's not the worst idea if you're gonna go eat a ton later. Another thing people do, they give back. So many people volunteer at food banks or community kitchens, and some people donate food to families in need, which is a common way to give thanks.
SPEAKER_06That's nice of them.
SPEAKER_02I do recall donating like canned foods for Thanksgiving before. But that was in the States. Okay. Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we don't have uh much of that here since we don't really celebrate Thanksgiving in Sweden.
SPEAKER_02But Sweden is slowly trying.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, we're I mean we don't know why. We Americanize everything.
SPEAKER_02Oh yeah. So I mean Halloween has been growing, you know, inch by inch every year. And I believe last year was the first time I heard of people like actually doing Thanksgiving at home. Uh even though they have they're zero percent s American. Yeah. Which I mean, sure, whatever. Do whatever you want.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's just a little I don't know, it's a little weird.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, it is.
What Not To Do At Thanksgiving
SPEAKER_02And I mean I mean, I do it because I'm American and I invite my American friends and friends who are who could probably pass as American.
SPEAKER_06And me.
SPEAKER_02Uh yeah, well, yeah.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Can I pass as an American?
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Really? Mm-hmm. You'll do well in the States.
SPEAKER_06Okay. I think so.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06I'm not loud.
SPEAKER_02Not all of them are.
SPEAKER_06I can be.
SPEAKER_02You yeah. I'm sure you can be.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. But um I mean, if someone says anything bad about Jackie Chan.
SPEAKER_02You're screaming.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02You also scream in the shower.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, I do.
SPEAKER_02So you practice.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_02Let's see. Uh what else? Seasonal traditions. So we can decorate the homes with fall colors. Fall colors. My words are falling. Uh, like orange, red, brown, pumpkins, and leaves. Yeah. Uh also going on autumn walks or playing outside before winter arrives. Except it's been extremely frosty today.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I'm worried it's not gonna be very fall by the time we celebrate Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02Um, fall is gonna be frozen.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. I mean, it's still fall, it's just frozen. Fall has fallen.
SPEAKER_02Fall has fallen and now it's frost.
unknownYeah.
SPEAKER_06It slipped and fell. Whoops. Fall slipped and fell.
SPEAKER_02Okay, Matthias, here's the good part. Okay. So here is what not to do at Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Okay. The worst behavior possible.
SPEAKER_06Saying you're welcome is Yeah, you're welcome.
SPEAKER_02I'm thankful for the food. Uh, you're welcome.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, out of ten, I got a top ten of worst behaviors for Thanksgiving.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02Number one, which made me laugh immediately. Like I didn't even have to go through the list. This first one made me laugh. Show up empty-handed, which, okay, I'm gonna bring up that point. It's not a requirement to bring anything. I'm providing this meal. Okay. If you bring something, cool. I'm not upset. Do that.
SPEAKER_00Okay.
SPEAKER_02It's not a requirement.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay. So, uh, anyway, the first one was show up empty-handed and complain about the food. Saying this is the driest turkey ever is a fast track to getting uninvited next year.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Please don't complain about the food. I've spent six hours working on it. If it's so dry, drain drown drain it.
SPEAKER_06Drown. Just go drown.
SPEAKER_02Drown it in gravy and you'll be okay.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, okay.
SPEAKER_02The gravy's really good too. So if you don't like the turkey, have something else.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, that's true.
SPEAKER_02I have always had a hard time with the turkeys for Thanksgiving because I've always thought it was really dry. I've had really bad experiences as a young child eating really dry turkey, and my dad telling me to eat it anyway, and so I just had to choke it down, and it was just like, yeah, I can't stand this.
SPEAKER_06It feels like uh turkey is a dry bird.
SPEAKER_02It's a dry bird.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_06Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_02Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_06Dry bird turkey.
SPEAKER_03Dry bird turkey. I'm trying to make something out of this. Keep going. Something's gonna come up. Yeah. Driver turkey.
SPEAKER_06Driver turkey.
SPEAKER_03Driver turkey. Like there's nothing actually funny about it. Okay. Okay. Is that what the sound vo sound voice just gonna be? Driver turkey, driver, turkey, driver, turkey, driver, turkey. Yeah. What just showed up on my screen. Okay. That was just number one. Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_06Out of ten.
SPEAKER_03Ten. Okay, number two. If I get through this list, I'm gonna be happy. Okay. Touch all the food with your hands just to see what it feels like.
SPEAKER_06Shove it in the turkey too.
SPEAKER_03Shove your hand inside the turkey. Thanksgiving is not a sensory play table. If I see someone stick their hand into every single uh food, I'm gonna be really upset. Okay.
SPEAKER_06I can do that.
SPEAKER_02I know you can, but don't.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Um number three, start an argument the moment dinner is served Matias.
SPEAKER_03Beginning with, let me tell you why everyone here is wrong. Is a Thanksgiving a nightmare?
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_03Please don't do that.
SPEAKER_06Have I done that?
SPEAKER_03Uh no, but it feels like maybe you could.
SPEAKER_06Maybe I could.
SPEAKER_03Maybe you could.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, if everyone's wrong. Yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_02Well, okay.
SPEAKER_06But I mean, if I right if I'm right about something and everyone else disagrees, yeah, sure.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Alright. Not going well.
unknownNo.
SPEAKER_02Uh number four. This one I wouldn't have a huge problem with because I expect to do everything anyway. But number four is fall asleep on the couch before helping with the dishes. Which I mean, people have done that before. And I get it. I mean, some years we've had dinner a bit later, you eat a lot of food, and you've been drinking, you're tired, you crash on the couch.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Whatever, no big deal. For me at least. But this says bonus bad points if you snore loudly or take up the entire couch. Okay, if you are a very tall and drunk, tired, full person, and you take up the entire couch, that's gonna be a problem because other people want to sit on the couch.
SPEAKER_06Also, That sure sounds like me.
SPEAKER_02My couch is pretty long. It is. So if you are so freakishly long that you take up the entirety of my couch, I'm not even sure why you're there. How do you get through the door? And uh I don't even know you. What are you doing here?
SPEAKER_06You know, this list is for people with short couches.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Okay, I don't have a short couch. Not anymore. I used to have a short couch.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And also a big couch. And now I only have an even bigger couch.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02It's like both of those couches combined, pretty much. Which is nice.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Number five. Give an unsolicited 20-minute speech before anyone can eat. Please do not hold anyone back from eating. No one's gonna be happy.
SPEAKER_06Hey, everyone, shut up. I've gotta talk now.
SPEAKER_03And no one can take anything yet.
SPEAKER_06I haven't had my hands in it in everything yet.
SPEAKER_03I'm gonna give a review based on the texture of each food here.
SPEAKER_06Too dry.
SPEAKER_03It's hot. Ow. Ow. I don't even like this one. Why is it here?
SPEAKER_06And it's too dry.
SPEAKER_03It's disgusting and it's on my hand now.
SPEAKER_06It dries my hand out.
SPEAKER_03My hands are not attractive.
SPEAKER_06No. It's because of this food.
SPEAKER_03This food makes my hands unattractive.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_03This is a problem.
SPEAKER_02Okay. Number six. Take all the best pieces of food before anyone else gets a chance. So if you grab the whole turkey leg for later, that is villain level behavior.
SPEAKER_06Wow.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Villain.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Because everyone wants a leg. Okay. Because the breast is so dry. The legs are always the best part.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Also, I'm gonna add on to that one is if you take a really big portion of one thing, especially for your first taking, your first serving, yeah, that might be a problem. Because especially if there's more people there, you want everything to last for everyone.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
Feelings & What’s Ruining Our Lives
SPEAKER_02So if you are taking your first servings, take, you know, a one scoop. There's plenty of food. It's all gonna fill your plate. Just take the one scoop, and then if you want more and everyone's already taken some, then go ahead and take more. That's my point of view.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02But that's just because I want everything to last for everyone. I want enough for everyone. Which is something I stress over a bit.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02I always think this isn't enough. This isn't enough. And sometimes it's not enough. Uh okay. So number seven is overshare awkward personal details at the table. So if grandma doesn't need to know it, maybe keep it to yourself. So don't be telling everyone about like your sad, depressing sex life. I guess.
SPEAKER_04Okay.
SPEAKER_02Don't do that.
SPEAKER_04Stop that then.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, I mean, I was trying to be subtle about it, but if you could like not no one wants to know. Um number eight. Do not feed the dog under the table, and then act surprised when it jumps onto the table so that everyone's plate is now in danger.
SPEAKER_04Yeah. First of all, I don't have a dog. You don't have a dog.
SPEAKER_02I do have a bunny, but he does not dare go into the kitchen.
SPEAKER_04No.
SPEAKER_02And he probably wouldn't want to eat the majority of our food anyway.
SPEAKER_00No.
SPEAKER_02Maybe the stuffing veggies. But that's it. Nothing I don't think he'd really go for anything else. No. Uh so that's not a problem that we have, but I'm sure others do.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh don't feed the dog. Number nine. Spill your drink and pretend it wasn't you. Especially if you blame a child or the cat. Uh, don't have a cat, but I do have children.
SPEAKER_06And a bunny.
SPEAKER_02I do have a bunny. But you can only blame the bunny if you are sitting on the couch. Because, I mean, if he knows you, he might attack you. Not in a bad way. He'll just jump on you.
SPEAKER_05Oh, yeah.
SPEAKER_02Be like, hello. And then, you know, you might get startled and spill your drink. Don't do that. But yeah. Uh, how about we don't spill the drinks in general? Okay. Whether you admit it or not.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Accidents happen, but don't do it on purpose.
SPEAKER_06Sounds like a good rule.
SPEAKER_02If you don't like the wine, don't just dump it on the floor. Okay? Please. We don't really have wine anyway. No. We have eggnog. Everyone loves it, so it better not be on the floor.
SPEAKER_06Exactly.
SPEAKER_02Or else I'm gonna be mad. We're gonna have drama if there's eggnog on the floor.
SPEAKER_03Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Okay, Matias, here's one for you. Actually, you know what? Uh, number 10, the last one, and I'm not even subtle about it. I'm gonna say it directly. Do not stay glued to your phone the entire time. Okay, so taking selfies with a turkey is fine, but ignoring the humans is not.
Wrap-Up, Fan Mail, And Next Events
SPEAKER_03I like that you're the one telling me Okay, but I I'm spending most of the time uh cooking food, right?
SPEAKER_06Yeah. And uh filming and taking pictures and Yeah, but that's filming and taking pictures.
SPEAKER_02I'm not on the internets and stuff.
SPEAKER_06Okay.
SPEAKER_02Scrolling. Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling, scrolling.
SPEAKER_06Scrolling, scrolling, scrolling. That's Clint Eastwood.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Is that his song?
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02About social media.
SPEAKER_06Yeah. Raw Hyde.
SPEAKER_02But yeah, that was uh that was my list. Yeah. I hope you learned something.
SPEAKER_06I did.
SPEAKER_02What did you learn?
SPEAKER_06That I'm not supposed to shove my hands in the food.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_06And I'm not gonna have a speech holding everyone back from the food. Yeah, no, exactly. And uh yeah, other things. Not looking at my phone.
SPEAKER_02Ah, there we go. Good that you learned something. Um, anything else? No. Feeling pretty good?
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Alright, well, as we near the end of the episode, would you like to tell me what is currently ruining your life?
SPEAKER_06I guess it's uh that I don't see you that much anymore. It's uh now it feels like it's just once or twice a week.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06Before it's been almost every day.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06But now it's less.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_06So that's that's too bad.
SPEAKER_02Yeah, it's it's a little sad. I'm gonna have to steal that one because I've been feeling it a lot this week. Uh I'm lacking Matias throughout my week. We went from seeing each other every single day at work to, you know, uh a few times a week.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Almost every day. Yeah. And then now it's like once or twice a week. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah. I've been missing you.
SPEAKER_06Yeah, during the summer we had our walks.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. And now it's dark. Yeah. And it's getting chilly. We don't really want to go for walks. And the last time we went on a really dark walk, it didn't go so well because it was windy and it was awful. And I couldn't see anything. So it was kind of scary. Um, are you done with your sips?
SPEAKER_06Yes, I'm done with my sips. I'm all out of sip and ha bl.
SPEAKER_02Are you all upset?
SPEAKER_06I'm all upset.
SPEAKER_02I'm sorry.
SPEAKER_06I'm all out of sips.
SPEAKER_02Well, I'm glad that we're finishing this episode if you're so upset.
SPEAKER_06We're all out of sips. Yeah. So we're all out of episode.
SPEAKER_02That's right.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_02Would you like to wrap this up?
SPEAKER_06Yeah, let's do that.
SPEAKER_02Thank you. Yeah, thank you. Is what I was saying. Thanks to the people who are listening.
SPEAKER_00Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh, thanks for listening to the episode.
SPEAKER_00Thank you.
SPEAKER_02Uh hope that you also learned something and enjoyed what you heard and come back for more. Subscribe to this sad podcast that is just barely rolling along.
SPEAKER_06Sadcast.
SPEAKER_02The sad cast. I did get fan mail. Oh, cool. Uh regarding last week's episode, which was about what did we talk about?
SPEAKER_06We talked about uh cooking.
SPEAKER_02We did. And I got uh fan mail from our favorite listener, Heather.
SPEAKER_06Yay!
SPEAKER_02My sister. She says, uh oh. I'm cooking all wrong because I usually have a glass of wine while cooking, which was an absolute no. Uh, based on last week's episode. You're not allowed to do that. Mistakes can be made.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02And you'll probably burn down your house if you do that.
SPEAKER_05Oh yeah.
SPEAKER_02So I uh recommend that you stop.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Alright.
SPEAKER_05Alright.
SPEAKER_02Um, like I said, our next live mad libs, the drunk Christmas karaoke live mad libs, is gonna be on December 13th. We start up around 8 p.m. Swedish time. Yes. Uh, which is also 2 p.m. uh on the eastern coast of the United States.
SPEAKER_05Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Their time zone. And it's gonna be a lot of fun. Uh if we have any lines like the ones we had last year, then it's gonna be hilarious. And we'll have alcoholic sips, and it's gonna be good. Everything is good. We'll be back next week with another episode.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_02Celebrating three years of roasty toasty ghosty.
SPEAKER_06Yay!
SPEAKER_02Wow. What are we doing with our lives?
SPEAKER_06Exactly. Yeah, few people know.
SPEAKER_02Right. No one knows. This is what we're doing. We're just sitting here talking about who knows what.
SPEAKER_06Yeah.
SPEAKER_02Uh and we're gonna continue for a really long time, apparently.
SPEAKER_06I think so.
SPEAKER_02Yeah. Uh as long as we're watching movies, we'll probably have an episode.
SPEAKER_06As long as there there's movies.
SPEAKER_02As long as there's movies to watch, we'll be making episodes.
SPEAKER_06Yep.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Um, thanks again. Be back next week.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
SPEAKER_02Anything else?
SPEAKER_06No.
SPEAKER_02Alright. Um, have a good life.
SPEAKER_06Yes.
