Wright Here Right Now S1 E76 Discover Austin, Jay C. Hormel Nature Center, Austin Area Foundation, and Austin Area Arts
In this episode I’ll be visiting with Nancy Schnable, Executive Director of Discover Austin. Her special guest this week is Chris Amy, head coach for the Riverside Figure Skating Club, which will be celebrating their 50 year anniversary with their annual show this year called the 50th Golden Jubilee. We’ll find out more about dates, show times, and ticket prices for the show.
Then I visit with Luke Reese, Director of the Jay C. Hormel Nature Center. Despite this week’s snow storm, we’ll talk about the start of maple syrup season and how the making of maple syrup is a big part of the fourth grade curriculum at the Nature Center.
Also this week I get a chance to visit with Steve Barrett at the Austin Area Foundation. Today I learn all about the Foundation’s various scholarship opportunities and when students should apply for those scholarships.
And it has been a few weeks since we’ve talked with Tom Robbins, Executive Director for Austin Area Arts. This week we got together to talk about the upcoming concert series, great shows that you won’t want to miss, and we get an update on the progress of the renovation at the Paramount Theater.
