#8 Tech - Designing Technologies From Ecofeminist, Anti-Racist and Intersectional Perspectives - Cateau Oonk
We are from Rising Girls Global, an initiative powered by Dior & UNESCO, created under the program Women@Dior. We would like to support young women aged 17-25 to land a job in one of these sectors:
- Business & finance
- Creative & arts
- Communications & marketing
- Public & international affairs
- Tech
Our today's guest is 23 years old Dutch Cateau Oonk who is a master’s student at the Royal Institute of Technology doing a specialization in Physical Interaction Design. She did her first year of Master’s at the Université Paris-Saclay, but before she obtained her bachelor’s degree from the Maastricht University. Her professional background is linked to statistical analysis at the UN University MERIT, research into innovation and digitalisation in the agricultural sector at the OECD and now she is about to start an internship in Swedish femtech start-up Hormona and draft her Master's Thesis on designing a community on a hormone-tracking app to foster empowerment and break the stigma surrounding hormonal health. Listen to this episode to get to know more about the most common stereotypes of women in tech!
