Welcome, welcome to another edition of the Pine Pony Podcast. Hey, yo, it's me, the og. Happy to be back for another installment. We were off last week, but I'm here with the fantasy uncle who's happening in person. How you, how you, how you've been the strengths of himself back from Costa Rica. How was the trip? Oh, you, I mean, I. It's Costa Rica. What, what's not to love? I mean, in what, one day I saw more animals than, than I'll ever see, like in one area, like a pig in Iguana, two Macaw and a wiener dog named Patty. Okay. All at this one restaurant. So hey, Macau's are cool. I, yeah. I would love to hang out with Macau while I eat dinner. Right? Absolutely. It was awesome. So yeah, I mean, it was a good trip. The final one down before I make the final voyage starting to get real. Yes, yes it is. Yes it is. But nonetheless. Let's get into the show. So, oh, while I was gone, Alex Ovechkin broke the record. What do you think about that man? And you know what? You gotta give it up for him because he tied it and could have broken the record that same night, but he didn't wanna do it on an open netter. Oh, so he made it so he waited until the next game. Actually didn't know that little tidbit. That's pretty cool. Yeah, I, I, I kind of like that, that then that way you don't have to deal with, you know some, some guy, I can't remember his name, remember that, that confronted Brett Fre. Right. 18 years later or whatever. Well, yeah. You don't have to deal with that. And, you know, you, you show the respect that 894 goals deserves. That's right. I like it. I think it's great. Yeah. You know, I don't follow hockey that closely these days, so I'm not, no, I don't either. I'm not big on him, per se. Like, I don't know that much about his game and like who he is or whatever as a person. But, you know, he's had a long, really good career, so hats off to'em. Absolutely. Absolutely. Alright, and then the next thing I wanna bring up before we get into our pre-draft playbook for the NFC West and NFC East, I wanna talk about Cory Booker, and not only is he an elite Oh wow. Politician. Wow. He was an elite football player at one point as well. Is that right? So I did not know that. Yeah. Yeah. He was, he, I was wondering, I was like, man, why are you wanting to go into this? I mean, you know, when people do great things, they, it deserves to be brought up regardless of what platform it is on. Oh, okay. I love it. And you know, not only breaking records. In the political landscape. I don't know that he broke any records in the football landscape, but he was named New Jersey Football Player of the Year. Hey, as a defensive back, USA high school team, you know, he caught 46 passes for 589 yards, six tudies, 53 solo tackles, and nine interceptions as a safety. I mean, this guy played all over the field. Wow. Yeah. He was recruited by none other than Duke, Steve Spurrier and Notre Dame's. Lou Holtz. Wow. That was a minute ago when Steve Spurrier was at Duke. Damn. And, and, and get this, he was also recruited by former President Gerald Ford for Michigan football. Wow. See, I, yeah, man. That's how you know you're in pretty good shape, because I honestly would've thought he was not that old yet. No. Apparently he's real old. Yeah. Man. Old. But yeah, he was a, he was a four star, he was a four star coming into college. Wow. I mean, four star's. Good. He was good. He was a good ball player. I like it. Yeah. I mean, he, he, he ended up signing with, with what looks to be Stanford, you know, nonetheless. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean, guy had a pretty solid career. What do you, any, any thoughts on Cory Booker? I thought it was great. Someone really needed to take the record away from the ridiculous racist, the God, I can't even think of his name now. The South Carolina representative for like. 80 years Strom Thurmond, that that's who it is. He, he, he had the previous filibuster record. And what's really sad about American history is that that filibuster that he did was to try to stop civil rights bills from passing. Several of them, I believe it was at once, that were trying to get put through. And he, you know, he's just a bad guy. So finally we don't have to talk about his record anymore because not only did it get broken, but it got broken by one of the people that he would not want in Congress, you know, a minority. So that's great that instead of a record for trying to block progress, it's actually trying to b block block authoritarianism in this case. So that's good. I do appreciate Cory Booker for. You know, trying to make so much noise in opposition to this administration. He's a, he's a soar of guy. That's a mixed bag for me. He does a lot of things I like and then a lot of things I don't like, but you know, that's most people in most politicians. So I'll give him credit where to due for this one. Put it that way. Absolutely. Credit where credit is due. Alright, well. Enough of the political talk. Let's get on into it. Let's start out with the San Francisco 49 ERs draft position, 11th little slap of hub pie for them. They haven't been that low in a long time. Yeah. Cap room is, is, you know, around 30, 37 million, somewhere in that range. To me, their needs are defensive line, edge, offensive line, running back and cornerback. They, I mean, they did, they did, they did a couple signing a lot of signings in the off season. They released a couple of players. They, I mean, a lot of players left, so they kind of needed to retool this entire team. And with CMC getting older. Running back, I can see as a high priority for them in this draft, along with the defensive line. Yeah. What do you think, man? What do you think about this team? Yeah, I like your sort of overall, what you were talking about, the positions. I definitely agree with offensive line. And I do think they'll take a running back. The only thing I would disagree with is that like, for them to make it a high priority, I doubt it because I, they do expect CMC to be back, and of course they're paying the shit out of them anyway, so I don't think they're, they're, they're, yeah, but I don't trust them. Yeah, but I don't think that they're wanting to draft like a, starting, running back. I think maybe somewhere like fourth, fifth, sixth round, they'll, they'll try to get a debt piece. They still have Gudo who they were happy with last year. So I, I don't think they're that desperate in that way, but certainly those other positions they let a lot of guys go in free agency. Yeah. So almost tons, like almost every phase of that defense is. Is rough and certainly the offensive line underperformed last year. Luckily, Trent Williams is still good, but. He, it felt like he was the only piece that was good. So I mean, I, I could see them going interior. I could see them getting the other tackle. I think, I feel like he usually plays left tackle, but he could play right or left so they could pretty much draft any position along that offensive line and get a huge upgrade out of it. You would have to think in the first couple rounds. Defensive line. I could totally see linebacker, I could see, you know, Greenlaw left and I forgot the other fellow's name. He wasn't even that great last year, but they lost a couple linebackers. You know, they still have my favorite guy osa. No, they, they're, he loves bozo. They, they still have one li linebacker that I happen to think is one of, one of the very best in the league. And I, I can't even think of his name right now. Curtis Robinson? No, not Curtis Robinson. Look, man. Any rate, any rate? We don't know. We don't know. Linebackers on the 49 ERs. Yeah, it doesn't matter. Maybe, maybe. Technically he's listed as Luke Gifford. No, what? I'm just naming linebackers, man. You know, just giving you, just giving you some options. The Fred Warner, it, it, Fred Warner, man. Yeah, I, I was trying to tell you, yeah, this dude is elite, but, but aside from him, they could definitely use more linebackers if nothing else. Better depth pieces at that position. And of course, cornerback too. You know, there's ward, but. You know, what else, what, what are they, what are they working with there? So they probably feel like they're okay at wide receiver. There's been rumors that IU is on the, the trade block. I. But yeah, rumors. The thing is that even if that's true, he's only going to move if they love the package. Like the, I I think in all likelihood he's back. Him Ricky Piol and Juwan Jennings are good enough to cover that. Of course, they still have Kittle who's great as a blocker and a pass catcher, so I doubt they're worried too much about pass catchers. I, I think it's gonna be offensive line and, or defensive line and linebacker the first day one and day two at least. Yeah. What do you think for the coach, man? I mean, this is kinda, he's been going on a downward trend here. Starting the seat's gotta be starting to get a little warm, wouldn't you say? Well, he's gotta be feeling a little bit nervous because not only did he basically underperform as the head coach last year with very high expectations, but then he lost a lot of talent. It's gonna be very hard, even if they kind of hit on some draft picks that can. Make an impact early. It's gonna be very hard to make the argument that this season's team is going to be as talented as last season's team because all of the guys that actually did perform for you last year, they're still around, but it's primarily guys in their thirties or CMC who's pretty old for a running back. And so it's like, you know, he's, he's gotta change things up. Whether that is getting a different defensive coordinator or just trying to sort of reinvent what he's doing on offense. I, I feel like the offense was okay last year. It was more so the defense that let him down, but. Right. Either way, you gotta be feeling nervous. I wouldn't say he's on the hot seat. He's got so much goodwill that he has collected over the years. He probably could get away with another underwhelming season. But I, but I would certainly say that it, if we're looking at a similar situation this time next year, it, he's probably there, you know, he's probably, it's getting there. He's probably on the edge edge at that point, you know. Right on. Yeah. Moving to the Seahawks 18th draft position, right around 35 million in cap space. Needs are offensive line, wide receiver, cornerback, safety, defensive line, wide receiver not so much as a, as a desperate need for me here. I mean, they, they picked up like a million wide receivers, so I assume they're gonna be comfortable going by committee there. And not getting a true wide receiver one. I mean, they've got Cooper Cup, MVS. I think Jay, do you think Cooper Cup, I think JSN is definitely their number one target. I think it's not even closest. Really. I think JSN is gonna out target Cooper Cup. Yeah. I think it's not even close. I, I think Tyler Lockett unfortunately did finally take a step back last year. Oh, did, yeah. I saw he got released. My bad. And so I. Maybe he'll land back with the team, like on the practice squad, or maybe even he will make the final roster. But the thing is that if he is back, it's just gonna be like a depth role. You know, he had a great career for a long time, but he finally basically got too old last year and you could tell Yeah, he lost the step. And so unfortunate because I love Tyler Locke, but you know. I think it's interesting that they were the team that won the bidding war for Cooper Cup. I think that they do plan on making him one of the focal points of this offense. And so it'll be interesting to see if Cooper Cup was just dealing with too many injuries last year, or if he really is just lost, you know, too old and, and he's gonna be another Tyler Lockett situation. Either way, I, I think that they're gonna. Prioritize. JSN. Yeah. I mean, they always got R River Cray Craft to back everybody up. So, you know, I people make fun of River Cray craft, but he has found his way onto NFL rosters for like six years in a row now. That's like, he's doing something right? Yeah, he's, yeah. Absolutely. Absolutely. Yeah, so, you know, and then they went out and they signed DeMarcus, Lawrence. Vin Yeah. And you know, kind of a lot of. Fill in pieces Dr. Depth at a lot of places. Yeah. I wasn't really high on what they did, but I, it's, I'm coming around, man. I'm coming around in Seattle with Sam, Sam Donald. I feel like they could do some damage in this draft and, and make a good run for the season. What are your, what is the rest of your thoughts on Seattle? I, if I was them, I would focus on offensive line. I, I think that their offensive line was just piss poor last year. Yes, yes. Yeah. Yeah. They, they kind of did a good job actually at minimizing the pass rush. That they were, that the offensive line was giving up.'cause they did so many quick plays where it was just the, even though the, the line was getting blown up, they didn't quite have a chance to make it to the quarterback. I was actually surprised that they let go of their offensive coordinator because it was his very first season and the offensive line was so bad and I felt like he did a good job of working around that. They didn't have a great offense, but they also didn't have like a, a horrible one. I think they were something like League Average, but they let'em go for whatever reason. So it'll be really interesting to see how things work on that offensive line this coming year. Obviously DK Metcalf is not there. They got Cooper Cup, very different sort of receiver, so. Mm-hmm. It'll be big changes for sure. It, it'll be interesting to see how it goes, but I, I could see them adding various dev pieces in a lot of places. I could even see them like taking a quarterback as a de developmental guy that they plan on sitting for a season or two. But really the thing is offensive line. I would be shocked if they didn't take an offensive line in the first couple rounds of this draft. Yeah, I agree with, I agree with that. Completely. Moving over to the Arizona Cardinals draft position number 16 cap right around 35 million as well. Let's see, needs looking at again, offensive line, wide receiver, edge, defensive line, you know, kind of the similar, the same. I look at them as the same position as kind of the Seahawks a little bit. Yeah, they've got some talent. They've signed some players like Tre McBride Kelvin Beacham, Jake Han to get that offensive line. Some help. Klay Campbell on the defensive side, Royce Newman. You know, j Jacoby ETT as a backup, Zay Jones. So they've got some talent, you know, still looking for those kind of superstar talent, but I think they're headed in the right direction and they just kind of need to fill in a bunch of these spots and maybe hit on a few guys in the draft, specifically the offensive line. That seems to be a common theme. In that we keep talking about, but also it is a common theme because that's what's gonna be happening in this draft is everyone's going to be filling those offensive line needs. Yeah, it is. It is a good draft for offensive linemen and running backs and tight ends. If you need those things, then it's actually pretty good draft. I think what they need more than anything though is actually on the defensive line. I think that they still struggle to get enough pressure. They, they are. I think it's like three or four years in a row now that they've been born in the last, in the league and pressure rate, time to pressure, stuff like that. I mean, they need guys that can pass rush, not just with power, but with speed too. It just seems like they're always so slow to put pressure on, on opposing quarterbacks. And there, it, it ends up just being such a burden on their coverage unit to keep coverage for so long. That I think is what they need more than anything. It, it'll be interesting to see how they handle offense, because I think a lot of people on paper would take a look at this team and be like, they're already set on offense. They should just focus defense. But yeah, I think maybe they, they still don't feel like. They have enough firepower from the wide receiver position. I know they got MVS and certainly they hope, if not expect him to take a step forward. And they got Trey McBride's a great pass catcher, but I don't think that they have like a second receiver that they fully trust. You know, they, they've used, you mean Marvin Harrison. You said MVS, you meant Marvin Harris? Yeah. Oh yeah. I was like, bro, wait, what? We just talked about MVSI, I meant M hj. M hj is M Hj, MH His initials not mv. Yeah. Woohoo. My fault. Just clarify. Yeah. Maserati Marv is, is the one that they, they, they fully expect them to take a. That forward. But I still think that, that it would not be surprising to if, if they wanna get like a quality number two wide receiver on the other side from him too, I, it wouldn't shock me. Other than that though, I do think they'll probably focus on defense first couple days of this draft. Draft all all right, and then we'll move on to the most unexpected team of last season, in my opinion. The LA Rams, I had them left for dead. They proved me wrong and they made it to the playoffs. Yeah. Draft position, 26 cap room 18 million needs are gonna be at. Linebacker, corner backer, offensive line, tight end. I mean, tight end's. Okay. I, I'm not that crazy about the tight end, but they could use another tight end, a better tight end than what, what I'm seeing, however, though they got rid of Cooper Cup, but added Devonte Adams. Upgrade. Yeah. Two, two at will. So, you know, I mean, the offense is looking pretty good. I, I, I like Kyra Williams you know, backing up Blake Corrum, we'll see if he can do any better this year. But otherwise, yeah, I mean, you know, just kinda, I think more of the work needs to be done on the defensive side and help some of that pass rush. What, what do you think, man? Yeah, for sure. I think the defense I. They, they would get exposed, especially when there was a good offensive line on the other side that was kind of pushing them around not good. You know, the, the Buffalo bills, when they played that game and put up like 60 points against them or whatever. Mm-hmm. It was like that offensive line was just dictating everything. They were opening up huge holes for the running back. They were giving Josh Allen like a fucking hour to decide who he wanted to throw to. And it's just, it, it, you know. It seems like that defense actually did kind of hold up well against certain teams, but for the most part, I think that they lack enough sort of beef or muscle, if you will, on the, in the trenches. They kind of get pushed around some from time to time. So I would like to see them draft not just like defensive linemen or linebackers, but specifically like some run stuffers. Some really powerful guys that can actually push the pocket and kind of change the whole tone of that defense. I wouldn't be surprised that they, you know, took some shots on secondary guys too. I, I think in general, the defense is more of the problem. I agree with you offensive line wise though, there's, I, I wanna say there's like three good offensive linemen, but then there's like at least a couple just, you know, trouble spots. So, you know, fixing those holes could actually turn that offensive line into an above average unit, mm-hmm. You know, just by getting decent, you know, league average guys in, in those trouble spots. But I agree with you, it, the team's actually in a better spot than I think most fans would think. They lost Cooper Cup and everyone loved him and I get it, but I mean, when you get a guy's dynamic as Devonte Adams, I mean, yeah, he, he's probably lost the step. He's not necessarily Prime Devonte Adams, but he still can do anything on the field. I mean, he can play any role for you. You know, he's a matchup nightmare in a lot of context, and he will definitely help. I, I think that probably the thing that I would predict more than anything would be maybe like a tight end, first round, second round. I could see them going after a guy like Tyler, Warren, Colston, Loveland. I don't think that they found the answer. And, and any of the guys they tried to replace Higbee with, and of course Higby is all right, but he's. Certainly getting up there in age and he's never been like elite or anything anyway, so I predict that they probably go tight end first or second round and defensive line. Offensive line. Yep. Heg B is certainly no gronk, that's for sure. Okay. Moving over to the NFC East, we'll start off with America's team. The Dallas Cowboys draft position, 12th cap room 37 million. Man, this team is, this team is really something, man. This team looks like straight doo do on this, on this paper, man. I like they, I'm looking at these wide receivers. They need help. They're I mean the Titans or whatever the, they picked up Jota Williams and Miles Sanders. I mean, they need help in the running back position, the wide receiver position. If they need to get Michael Parson's help on the defensive side, I mean they brought in Joe Milton to back up Dak Prescott. Yeah, I mean the d getting rid of Trey Lance and bringing in Joe Milton was probably the one move that I actually agreed with, that I actually thought might be a good idea. All this other stuff. I mean, I feel like Jerry Jones is the king of bringing in either running backs who clearly have already been on the decline. Or Right. Yeah. Running backs who were drafted highly, who were supposed to be a big deal and just never were, you know, he's, he just collects these guys that ha haven't proven it on the field, or at least not in the past season or two. And it's just, it's just weird. I know he is not paying them a ton, but it's like, bro, why even bother in a draft class that's just. Absolutely stacked with RB talent too. I mean, it's like, why even bother? It makes no sense, man. It makes no sense. Yeah. I mean, that being said, I mean, aside from the spots that you know, they got, you know, that, you know, they got a really elite pass rusher and Michael Parsons, they got an elite wide receiver one, and they've got a, a quarterback. I don't know if you'd say he's a elite, but they're paying them that way. So. They're, they're those things they've already got and pretty much everything else they need help with. They're probably okay. At cornerback though. They could use some help at safety anyways, so really. Anything besides the number one wide receiver and the quarterback and the number one pass rusher, everything else they need help with it. It's, it's honestly hard to know which direction they would go because I could see them. Taken just about any position in the first round. Yeah, I mean they, I mean, it is crazy. The, the only running back that was worth a damn at all last year and they weren't even satisfied with him apparently was Rico Doell. He's not even on the team, so it's like I could see them taking a running back 12th Overall, Jerry Jones has done crazier shit, you know what I mean? I, I wouldn't do it if I was him just because it. Taking a running back in the first round should be like, well, what a team does. Like, like the Detroit Lines took Jamir Gibbs something, something, right? Yeah, that makes sense. But they already had the, the offensive line to bust him open holes and they, they already had like a really, really good offense for him to just drop into. You know, if, if you're not gonna be opening up the guy holes, you're not gonna get your first rounds worth out of'em anyway. So. I, I don't know. I could see them going wide receiver there. I, I could see them loving a guy like Matthew Golden to play a bunch of underneath routes and, and sort of be the ying to the. The CD Lamb Yang. And to be honest with you, I CD lamb is also good just like on the line or outta the slot too. I could even see them drafting Tet and just moving CD to flanker and, and in the slot. Honestly, I, I, I, I think that, that, if I had to guess, I would, I would guess wide receiver for that first round, but really it's. I, if I was them, I would just do whatever best player that falls to them. Just'cause because they need help everywhere. They need, they need so many, yeah. They need help everywhere, you know. So. All right. Going to the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles draft position, 32 20$3 million in cap space. I think offensively they, they need to focus on the offensive line. And then, you know, sprinkling some depth pieces there. You know, maybe some, you know, what all winning teams do, throw out a, a, a line and just see if, see if one of those players just ends up being really good late in the draft. I think most of the work needs to be on the defensive side of the ball. Safety defensive line, quarterback edge. Yeah. So, yeah, that's what I got, man. You think about them Eagles, I don't think they need much work. Yeah, they're like the opposite of the Cowboys where they, it's like, man, they've done such a good job of filling in their, filling out their roster with that adequate talent that it's like, hmm, I could see them doing offensive line because one, there's, there's. A lot of talented guys go in the first couple rounds, and some of their best offensive linemen are certainly getting up there in age, so they're more likely to get hurt. They're more likely to fall off. They're, they're, you know, ha, getting depth on the offensive line would probably be really smart for them. I could see them going safety. They could definitely use some safety. I, I loved what I saw out of, cooper, Deon and Kenon Mitchell last year. So I actually don't think that they need to fuck with cornerback. I wouldn't bother. Though they could certainly draft another pass rusher. I could see them doing that. I. But you know, there's Saquon Barkley and there's not much else behind him. I think that that they'll probably wanna get themselves a decent backup running back at some point, and it's a great class to do that. So I could see offensive line and running back being the offensive positions that they fuck with, and probably everything else would be a defensive focus. That would be my guess. Couldn't agree more. All right, now moving to another team that needs quite a few bit of work. The New York Giants draft position, three cap room,$2 million to me. All right, well hold on. So they added Jamis Winston and Russell Wilson. A bunch of goons there for a quarterback. I mean, it's like they're, it's like they're purposely trying to, to finish seven and nine or whatever, you know what I mean? I, I just, I just cannot believe Jamis Winston and Russell Wilson get another set of chances. In, in this league, when we know, we know what their ceiling is, we know there's no chance. That's what I mean. They're not good if everything goes well, like best case for them is like nine and seven, you know what I mean? Like, so anyway yeah. In the draft, man, I, I think first round for these guys has gotta be quarterback, I mean. Joe, Shane and Brian Abel are feeling the hot seat. They've gotta save their career and they certainly can't go into this draft and go, we're not gonna draft a quarterback. We aren't thinking about the future because neither one of those guys on this roster are the future, and they need a quarterback this year. So I think they just go all in on Shado. Let'em sit for the year. Let Russ and fucking Jamis Winston eat all the crab legs this season. And then SDO starts next season. They'll extend their, you know, they'll get this year'cause they know they're not gonna be that great this year. And then they'll get sdo first year. If they can't do anything by then, then they're fucking gone. If they I bet. I bet if they were, like, if they didn't win, like the first four or five games, they'll be fired. Yeah, they have got to be on the hot seat. I'm honestly surprised that they have not been fired yet. Oh, yeah. After that debacle last season, you would think just the embarrassment of what happened with hard knocks would be enough to, for the owner to be like, nah, you can't fucking embarrass me. I don't care. You know, like you're a yes. But I mean, I'll give him credit. He, he believes in these guys. He's, he's sticking it through, it's. You know, he's not giving into the pressure from the fans or whatever. But even is that even a good thing? Maybe, maybe you should listen to the fans. Sometimes. Like sometimes they, sometimes, even if they want a new head coach every single year, well at least every single year, they'll give you a break and be like, all right, hope, hope we, this one's gonna be different, right? Like, I don't know. That being said, I actually have a different read on the quarterback situation. I think what they're doing. Is they're looking at the this QB draft and they're like, well, maybe CAM board. And they're like, nah, nah, nah. What? The Titans are definitely drafting CAM board, so what the fuck are we gonna do? They're like, do we wanna take a shot on Shado? Do we wanna take a dart throw on, or was it tanking for Arch Tyler Shook or Jackson Dart. Oh, a Jackson Dart throw. Do you see what I did there? And so I think they're, they're like, we need to sign Russ, because we know that, that if the rest of the team's okay, you could at least like get to the playoffs with him or something. I think they're, they are literally just in. Operations save our our careers one more year mode. And I don't think they like any of these quarterbacks, they might take a shot on a guy that's something where it's like more developmental or something. I don't think that they're in on SHA though. I think these signings. Let us know that they don't believe in him. I, I just, I I think what they're gonna do with that three spot is either going to be Travis Hunter or it's gonna be Abdul Carter. That's what I think. I think that, well, they're gonna have to, I mean, you're probably right.'cause they're gonna have to draft Travis Hunter. They're gonna need somebody to tackle. The, the opposing team's cornerbacks for all the interceptions. Winston's gonna throw. Yeah. If Jamis sees the field, Travis Hunter needs to be on that field. You're gonna need that dual threat guy. Yeah. So he could go and bat them away or something. Yeah, he's gonna, yeah. Hey man, we brought you here for wide receiver, but what we really need is for you to play defense on offense. Yeah. You need to, you need to. Stick to that, that safety's hip pocket there. Because when Jamis is out there, he likes to let'em fly, maybe? Yeah. Oh, just eating them. So, so here's the question since we're on the, the, the topic real quick. Do you think that Travis Hunter will actually get to play both roles full-time in the NFL? Because he, he certainly did it in college, but everyone kind of keeps saying, oh, you can't get away with that in the NFL. And he, he keeps saying, oh, I, I, I want the chance to play both full time, like. I, I don't know. I, I, honestly, I don't know. I think he'll get the opportunity to play, but I don't think he'll finish the season doing both. I think what and what they should do is whoever takes him. All right, man. We'll, let's, let's play you a little bit at both positions and then over time, whichever one I think he's gonna, he's excelling at. Like is better at, you'll start to see him play that position probably more. Yeah. It, it is a, it is a crazy prospect to think about because there's actually a lot of NFL teams that have him as the top of their draft board for wide receiver and also the top of their draft board for cornerback. So it's like. Depending on what team takes him, they might just force him to do whatever they need the most. And I can tell you right now, the giants, they need a cornerback far more than they need a wide receiver. I mean, they, they brought back Darius Sleighton, of course, they've got Malik neighbors and they've got Dale Robinson who's pretty good in the underneath short area stuff. Right, right. Eh, so you. You think if he does go to the Giants, they're probably more interested in having him at least primarily be cornerback. But I, I don't know. He seems adamant that he really wants to play full-time both. It'll be interesting to see if any team actually allows him to do that. I, I don't know. I think the best position, I think the best team for him to do that is gonna have to be a team that is. Not in desperate need of one of the other positions, like, like a team that's already set this position and can allow him to, to not to rotate in both of Right. Yeah. Yeah. Like not be on the field as much. Like if you're in need of a cornerback, then yeah, he's gotta play cornerback. If you're in need of a wide receiver, he is gotta play wide receiver. But if you're like, you're good on both of those and, and you can go, all right. Let's play you at wide receiver for, you know, the first quarter or whatever, and, you know, you, you have that ability to kind of move him around without missing him at one of those positions. So if he wants to play both, he's gonna need to go to a team like, you know, like the Steelers, the Packers, I mean, yeah, the Chiefs, you know, the Eagles or something like that. He would have to go to a team that feels confident enough in what they've already got. Right? Yeah. Maybe 49 ERs Rams. Rams could, Rams could potentially do that. Yeah. Well, you know, I don't know. So. We'll see, but I don't have any faith in the Giants. All right. In our, in our final team, the, another surprise team, the Washington Commanders draft position, 29, 20 7 million in cap. I, I, man, they were sneaky good last year was I expecting'em to be as good, especially now that they're set at qb they picked up Deebo Samuel, which is huge. They Cleveland Ferrell signed a one year deal. I, I, the KJ Osborne signed a one year deal. I kind of like what they did in the off season already in free agency. So really, I think a, a, a nice portion of this draft will be spent on an offensive line in defense, like somewhere around edge, maybe a, you know, a cornerback or a safety in the, in the secondary of that defense. But I mean. To me, it is kind of you, you take what you need, what you need there, and then the rest is kind of filling in depth and taking it, taking shots for them. All of a sudden they came out of nowhere and just all of a sudden they got a pretty decent team. Yeah, I, I agree with so much of what you said, I mean, they were, for me, the most surprising team last year. And it was surprising in a good way too, where you know. I, I wasn't sure what to expect from the coaching staff, but they certainly overachieve versus what I would expect. And especially when you look at the, what they had on the roster. I mean, there's a reason why they had so much cap room this off season. It's because I. They let so many of their talented players go the previous off season, and they weren't, they weren't even considered a very talented team anyways, that's how barren it was. And, but yet they made, they made it work. They, they had the. Offensive line was probably a little bit below average, but it wasn't a disaster that I was expecting. And with the wide receivers, it, it, they ended up getting like good work out of Noah Brown and the 80-year-old Zach. Mm-hmm. And like Dami Brown even. And it's just like. You know, I think they're gonna end up getting much better out of whatever wide receivers they draft slash Deebo Samuel than what they got out of the guys they had last year. It'll be interesting to see what, what they do with Ben Senate because he basically redshirted his entire rookie year. But he was, he's someone that a lot of people had high hopes for. I don't know what they think of him. He basically never got on the field last year. So it's like if they don't have any faith in him, I could totally see them being one of the teams that scoops up Colston Loveland or Tyler Warren or maybe even like a, a round three or round four sort of guy. But I definitely expect wide receiver, they're going to get themselves a decent, wide receiver to go along with. McLaurin and, and Deebo Samuel, the corpse of Zach Ertz. Yeah. I mean, even. Yeah. Even if these guys really work out for them next season, they know that there's not very many seasons left for these guys. They, they already understand that, so they wanna get pass catchers for the future. And offensive line. They definitely need to get some guys in there. Some of the older fellows that were kind of like reclamation projects actually did work out for them last year, but I mean. Again, we're talking about older fellas. If nothing else, you're gonna want depth for that. And so I, I could see as far as offense goes, pass catchers offensive line. And then as far as defensive goes, probably they, they want to prioritize pass rushers. They, they did not get a ton of pressure last year. They weren't necessarily horrible in that, in that phase, it felt like. They started to get some pressure towards the end of the season, but yet you gotta think there's, there's just no one you could name along that line that you think is like, oh, that's a, that's an elite guy. That's a good guy that they, that you're actually confident in his ability to get a bunch of pressure this coming season. So I imagine they're gonna wanna focus there a hundred percent, man. A hundred percent. All right. Well that's all we got this week on the pre-draft playbook. Next week we are doing the NFC North and South. That's right, man. What a, oh man. Two good divisions right there, man. Lemme tell you. We get to talk about your boys. We get to talk about my boys, and then the following week we are headed to the mock draft. The week of that would be the week of the draft. So the 23rd would be the release. Draft starts on the 24th. I fly out to Wisconsin. Woo. Can't wait, man. Can't wait. Exciting time. It's be a good time. Got my tickets. We're ready to rock and roll, man. Absolutely.
