Welcome, welcome to another edition of the Pine Pony Podcast. It is me, the og, as always, with the fantasy uncle, what's happening in Persian. Howdy, howdy. I think it's our first pod that you've done from the camper. How's that going? Yeah man, I had to set up in here. I got some family in town and my office is being taken over plus, might as well set up in here.'cause since this is gonna be where I'm gonna live for like a week. You know, do work and stuff. So just went ahead and made the move. It was actually, you know, pretty cozy. I can be as loud as I want and not have to worry about anybody telling me to shush. I got the game set up in here and everything too, so, you know. Yeah, I was about to say that this might actually be a low key great spot to watch the Packers games because when, when shit gets frustrating, you don't even have to worry. You just start cursing. Yeah, man. Yeah, man, I've got a TV to my, in my front like picture and I could watch, you know, while sitting at the table, you know, what's not to like so well, anyway, we got a fantabulous show. We're gonna talk about the latest and greatest of NCAA news, the NFL news, and then we will talk about NBA as always. So with that being said, let's go ahead and start the show. All right, so let's take a look at the NBA playoff bracket. We are at a Tide series one-to-one in the final. There's some pretty good games, man. I don't know if you got a chance to check those out. OKC in Indianapolis. What did you check'em out at all or see any highlights of anything? Yeah, I didn't watch the actual games. Yeah, but I saw highlights and summaries, commentary, people talking about it on the radio and stuff like that. So it sounds like the, you know, the pacers are putting up a legitimate fight and that's, that's all you hope to see when you know one team is such a huge underdog. You, you just wanna see some good games, it sounds like. That's what we're getting. Absolutely. Absolutely. I agree, man. They, they, I've seen some highlights, man. They just look like some, some really knock'em drag out games, you know, two good teams playing against each other. And, and like you said, that's all you can ask for. And other news in the NBA Adam Silver said that next year's all-star game will be USA versus the world. So that'll be, you know, pretty cool. Interesting. Yeah, they're trying to piggyback off the NHL success. They said they hadn't quite figured out how they're, like, how they would do the game specifically. Like what if there are any regular game or just like stipulations or like fiba rules or whatever, but that, that that's, they think that would be the best. And I, you know, the, I think what the Olympics is next year, so. You know, it'll already kind of have that, that vibe. Yeah, something like that. It's, you know, try to capitalize off of that. If we're not, if we even have it, we might be at war. So, you know, you never know. We'll have to see how things progress. Yeah. We'll have to see how, how they, how they go. Yeah. And then let's do NCAA news. Big NCAA news man. Settlement has been reached of$2.9 billion starting 20 25, 20 26. The schools can allocate 22% of their average athletic media revenue to student athletes, so they can, they will be able to pay athletes directly because of this. So the NCAA is no longer like essentially part of athletics. It is going to be the college sports commission and the person and, and the person that was voted on by all of the conferences, the four major conferences. So the, the adss put this guy in place Brian Sealey, you might know his name from former MLB. He used to. Be an executive in the MLB and then he is an assistant us attorney. So he has some background in this sort of thing. He, they said the great thing about this is they said any violations are gonna be swift within like a 45 day window versus ncaa it could take like three years. So that's good. And they're mostly here to police violations of recruiting and NIL and this and that. But one of the main things they'll be analyzing is third party deals of$600 or more for NIL because they want the players to be paid the appropriate market value. To me that part seems kind of weird because. How are you gonna tell Home Depot how to spend their money? How are you gonna tell this third party how to spend their money? So that one I think is gonna get ironed out. But I think the next thing this leads to, it's gotta be some sort of collective bargaining agreement. This, this is essentially gonna turn into professional, amateur professional football because there's just no way that this is just, you know. The NFL players, don't they get paid whatever they get out of their side contracts, you know, so the, I don't see this, some lawyers are gonna want to take that to court. And then the final thing about that is schools are being asked to sign a contract to abide by said rules. So yeah, overall I think it's a positive, it it, it's a lot of stuff going on there. I unfortunately haven't like, gone through all the details, and this is just, just now hearing this, I, I realize like, oh, it was more involved than I realized. I, I really have just read like some headlines you know, yeah, I heard it mentioned, I guess in summary, but I didn't realize it was like. So the, there's gonna be a committee or an organization that's overseeing these. But I was thinking at first like, this is going to be part of the ncaa. So this is actually going to be not part of the ncaa, but actually like a third party thing that's set up to do like the oversight. Is that what it is? Try again. I would just, okay, I got you. Now. I would just say yeah, this is a, it, it is not a third, well, it is kind of a third party, but it's, it's not because it's just outside of the ncaa, but the, the conferences voted on this, on this and, and made this a thing. So it is just gonna be college athletics governing body, so to speak. It's just not going to, athletics are basically not gonna have anything to do with ncaa man. That just feels so wild. Yeah, I, I mean, I think that there's a chance for things to be better. For the fans in particular. I, there's a chance to sort of make this thing a much more efficient organization. Like you were saying, it could take up to three years sometimes to get things done, as far as investigations, and then. Whatever they do. Meetings after meetings, after meetings about what to do about it or something, and finally, something happens down the way. If it's true that they're gonna be able to operate like within 45 day windows, I mean, that would be great. I think that, that, that, yeah, there's a, at least a chance here to really remake things to where they're, they're in simpler terms for the athletes, for the fans, and. At least in theory for the schools. I mean, the schools are the ones that voted on this. I, I like that. This guy Brian Sealey, he's not from like a school or, or you know, anything to do with the ncaa, like is he's from an outside source, you know, so he's not gonna play favorites. And yeah, I think that 45 day window, I think that could happen. So. You know, we'll see what happens. The other thing to that is they're gonna back pay students who played in 2016 to 2 20 24. Oh yeah. Wow. So is that like what a large part of that, that settlement two supposed to be about? Yeah, probably. I thought, man, that's a huge number, but. And that would make much more sense if they're planning on back pain students. Oh man. That's pretty exciting for the students who felt like, oh man, I was just on the outside of getting paid, you know? Right. Yeah. So we'll see how much they end up getting paid. Another way to get paid in NCAA is to play as the college team in NCAA NC college football 26. So for every team that gets played with, I think in dynasty mode, they will, or exhibition, I'm not sure. But anyway, they get money for that. And so the more you play with that team, the more money they get. So I've seen several posts on social media where fans are trying to. Decipher which team everyone's gonna jump on to give them a boost in an IL rating. Let, let's make North Dakota State a a perennial powerhouse. Yeah. I think that's pretty exciting. If anything, it makes NCAA more exciting and more fun to play.'cause everyone's gonna be choosing like smaller teams. Oh, for sure. Yeah. Which is super cool. Yeah. So that'll, that'll be interesting to see how. Yeah. Much that impacts, yeah, I some of these teams, I, I didn't even think something like this was a possibility, like to get paid per. Like play or per match or per whatever it is. It sounds really cool from the fan side though. I mean, you could, you could see sort of fan pages. Think about like Reddits and like what Reddit was able to do with like GameStop or a MC or you know, these, these. Right. Reddit stock pages where they just kind of all decided like, let's make this a thing. And you could easily see that. I mean, there's a huge player base for ncaa, and you could, you could see people getting together, at least certain percentages of the player base getting together and being like, all right, I'm on board. And then people think it's fun, so they'll just hop on once it starts going and you could see you know, a bunch of schools whining and, and complaining that they're not the one that got picked. But I mean, I. Pretty fucking cool sort of lottery for some school to get super paid if everyone's trying to pump them, you know? Absolutely, absolutely. Okay, I think that's all I got for ncaa. Moving over to the NFL man, we finally got Aaron Rogers news. We finally made it. To the time he is officially a Pittsburgh Steeler. He is, has a home. Now. It's great to see that, but I'm telling you right now, if he is the first person to make Mike Tomlin have a losing record, I will double hate him. So he better chill out. Okay. And also did you hear he got married? He's been married for a co for a little bit now. Did not realize that. I thought he was like playing the field ever since the, that actress he was dating before. I don't remember her name, Shayna or something like that. I don't know. But yeah, he said he got married a couple months ago. Is this also like a celebrity or is this just like someone nobody knows. I mean, I don't know her. Oh, okay. Her name is Brittany. That's all we got. That's all we got. All right. All right. Sounds like she might've won a lot. B-R-I-T-T-A-N-I. Oh, wow. She's gotta go and do it. Cutesy like, okay. Yeah, he didn't reveal, he didn't reveal it, but he was dating somebody named Brittany. I don't know, man. Y'all gotta go read the gossip pages. I, yeah. It's hard to decipher, man. You never know, man. He's an enigma, you know? He's an enigma. Yeah. And then final piece of news on the NFL side for me. Nick Chubb to the Texans, man. Texans kind of loading up here. What do you think? Yeah, Ru running backs getting signed at the same time all of a sudden. Yeah. Nick, Nick Chubb got signed. I think that this is actually an interesting signing because he came back sooner than what the Browns were expecting with the catastrophic knee injury, and it's a little bit older, but the thing is. He came back ahead of time and now he's got the whole off season that he's had to continue to gain strength and flexibility and yada yada. And so maybe there is enough gas left in the tank that he forces a committee with Joe Mixon, who's, you know, not 22, 23 anymore himself. So I think it's, I think it's an interesting situation there. I think, you know, it's someone you could. Throw on your bench for free in a lot of leagues and just see what happens the first few weeks, you know? Yeah. Couldn't agree more. Couldn't agree more. So with Rogers being the Steelers, he can be, he can join, I think, what 12 quarterbacks to have beaten every team in the league when he faces off against the packers in week eight. Yeah. So that's gonna be spicy, you know, he wants to get that spicy game, you know, he wants to get that. Yeah. Can't wait to watch that, obviously. Yeah. What do you what do you make of that man? What do you think? Man, I, I think it's great. I, I think, I think that's must watch tv. You know, there, there's always a chance in his forties that. He gets banged up and he doesn't make it to week eight, but I sure hope so because, you know boy, the storylines, the, I I mean, it's gonna, the meat is gonna go nuts. It's gonna be tense. It, it'll be interesting to see you know, you're gonna have a certain percentage of Packers fans who's gonna be like, oh, I still love the guy. You know, I still love him. But I think most Packers fans are gonna be like, rack his ass up. Fucking Mo. Oh yeah. And I think, I think it's gonna be great. I think yeah you know, the, the signing in particular wasn't. Particularly surprising. It's the move that everyone was expecting, that both sides, both parties in that were hinting at the entire off season. Right. But the part that I didn't realize until just a couple days ago is that Aaron Rogers let it be known that he actually asked the Steelers not to draft your door. He said, if you want me. You can't draft Shado, which I think is, Ooh, I didn't know that. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That is, I think is pretty spicy. And I think that helps explain the Shado fall and why the Steelers not only passed on'em in the first round, but then the second and the third, and you know, so on you know, that that was, well, I mean, obviously if they drafted Shadur, why would you, you know. Yeah, I think that's a little, I think that's a little bit weird for Rogers to request that or demand that. However it, however it was talked about, it's just like you don't have that many seasons left anyways, and it is like, do you feel like you are so important? You're such a shot caller still that you can just say, Hey. I, I don't want you to draft anyone in the first couple rounds or whatever, and it's like, are you really afraid of ur? Like, are you like, oh, don't draft anyone that the fans might call for when I suck butt or so, you know what I mean? Like, mason rude. It sounds like Aaron Rogers call to me sounds exactly like the person he is. It's just, you know, he was talking, he was talking about, oh, you know, I've changed my perspective. I've been humbled. By last season, whatever. I mean, it's still sounds like some Karen ass shit going on here, man. Oh yeah, man. Aaron Rodgers, man. I can't wait for the drama to unfold. Alright, well let's get on to the Fantasy Football series. Positional series. We got wide receivers up today. Starting off with the first five. Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson, cd, lamb, pka, NACUA, and Malik Nabors. The only one that I really have issue with in that first five is CD Lamb. Nothing suggests that he should be up there, in my opinion. He ranked like outside the top 10 last year in points. They didn't really do anything on offense to change that, and I just don't understand why he's rated so high. So I personally think that that's a reach outta that top five. Otherwise I'm okay with every, everybody else there. What are your thoughts on the top five? Yeah, I, I like the top five. I, I'm okay with, with c, DB in there. I kind of just wanna say like, last season was just whatever. Like, I, I'm willing to throw it out when it comes to CD because he was disgruntled. The entire time that Dak wasn't there. I'm not saying that that's a good thing. He's one of these diva ass wide receivers, like frankly, most of'em are. But the thing is that like as soon as Dak went down, he wasn't catching many of his targets. Eventually he got hurt. Stopped playing, they shut him down. So, I mean, last season was definitely disappointing if you had CD lamb. But just the previous season in 2023, he was the best fantasy wide receiver. He, he was the best one. So what you're saying is they're counting on Dak being two years ago, Dak. Well, he, he is going to be there. I mean, he was injured for most of last season, so he wasn't Right. Right. I don't know if he's gonna be as good as he was in 2023, because I think 2023 was D's best season is, you know, not every season's gonna be his best one. I, he probably regresses a little bit, but the thing is that I, I do expect CD lamb to bounce back. I don't think George Pickens really takes away from CD lamb's target share. There was. Plenty of targets to go around. There was basically nobody else that they had to count on. Right. And so I, I, I think if anything, like having another wide receiver that the defense has to respect, especially when it comes to the, the depot is, is actually going to help lamb get maybe a few less of the sort of bracket coverages that teams were running against him last season. And so, so you gonna take him fifth overall then? Fifth overall. Yeah. Somewhere around there. Yeah, that is actually, that is actually, I, I would take him behind chase and Jefferson for sure. Right. And I agree with that. For me, he's in that exact same bucket with Malik neighbors and, who am I forgetting here? Oh, and pka Nku. So I think pka, NKU, Malik Neighbors, CD Lamb are all in that bucket. I think Aman Raw, Brian Thomas are probably in the third bucket, but, but yeah, somewhere around sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth. I'm ready to pull the trigger as early as probably sixth or seventh overall. Okay. Okay. All right. Well that's interesting. All right, so number six in wide receivers. First round, eighth pick. So he's tied with Malik Neighbors as the eighth pick. Nico Collins. For me, that is a huge ye because I mean, he is definitely first round talent and I mean, he could go sooner. See, I would have him above cd, lamb. Sometimes in that, in that situation just because I think he's gonna get the ball a lot. But, and he's gonna be the guy on that, on the current depth chart. So I really like Nico Collins on the Texans. I expect a big bounce back year from c CJ Stroud. And like we said, they just signed Nick Chubb, so that's gonna help them in the offense, in the pass game for sure, because now you got another lethal running back to, to worry about. Yeah. I think it's a really good point about Nico Collins. I actually forgot about Nico Collins just now when I was talking about the buckets, but it, yeah, he is absolutely in that conversation. I mean, not only does he get a huge share of stroud's targets, but he also tends to run those really fantasy, lucrative routes that are like the nine routes and the corner routes and the, those like deep slants and I mean. Just these, not just, not just like deep down the field targets, but oftentimes he's in these situations where he gets the catch and run and he's a, a big, strong player who's not necessarily a blazer, but fast enough to where he's hard to bring down and, we've seen him, I'm not sure where he ended up ranking last season, but we've seen him, the, the last two seasons just have some huge blowup games and I think several of those type of games are in store for him next season too. There's no reason to believe he's going to get worse when he's actually progressed every single season as a pro so far. Right, right. Completely agree. Next, number seven, first round, 12th pick. I'm on Ross St. Brown. This one is kind of like, I think if you get him here, he could be a steal. So I like the pick, but I also don't like the pick because I think he could go. I think he deserves to, to be higher. I think, again, and I'm gonna harp on this the whole episode, so get ready. He is better than CD Lamb and, oh man, everybody's better than c LA was ahead of him last year. Lamb oh man, was ahead of him last year. And, and I know Dak Prescott wasn't there, but like you said, man, George Pickens is there. That that could take some of the share, you know, so I, I like if you get'em at 12, that's great. I think Alma Raw could be a top 10. Potentially in the, depending on your draft. So I, I'm just high. I like, I like St. Browner. I could be a little biased, but what, you know, maybe, maybe I'm not. What do you think, man, I think he's going in a fair place here. I I, I'm actually a little bit scared of where the lines offense goes back to now that Ben Johnson's gone. I know you and I talked last off season about how it's kind of underrated and. Oftentimes under-discussed with football fans how big of an impact it can make. It doesn't always make a huge impact, but a lot of times having a hot shot offensive coordinator or a defensive coordinator leave has more of a detrimental effect than what you're gonna assume. And so. I, I think that we can guarantee pretty much the same usage because we've seen this guy get heavy usage halfway through his rookie season and never look back. I think it's been like five straight seasons now of just a, yeah, a heavy target share, especially around the red zone slash end zone area. You gotta love the amount of touchdowns he's been able to have pile up every single season, but. The thing is that maybe that offense as a whole takes a step back, even if it's just kind of a small step back that has an impact on Almond Ross St. Brown. They keep talking about how they want Jameson Williams to break out this year, even though I feel like he basically had a breakout last year. Yeah. I feel like they say that all the time. They're talking about. Increasing his usage. And of course, Sam LaPorte is not going everywhere. Going into his third year, there's no reason to believe he's gonna take a step back. You've got Jamir Gibbs Damon Montgomery. They're going to get theirs. I think if the offense doesn't stay, you know, remarkably explosive like it's been the past couple seasons. With so many other places for the ball to go, he's going to get his, but maybe he doesn't get that same touchdown mark if that offense isn't that successful. So I think on one hand he's one of the safest picks you can pick around the, the one, two turn, but also I think his upside is really capped. I, I can't see him having. A Jamar Chase, Justin Jefferson type season. And when you look at guys like Puka Nku and Nico Collins, the usage they get and the types of of routes they run, downfield, yeah, you could see those guys finishing the season as the first overall wide receiver if things shake their way. I don't think that's possible with Almond Raw, but it. You know, a lot of times they say, and I believe this too, you can't necessarily win your league in the first round, but you can lose it in the first round. And so if you are one of those people who you just wanna play it safe for the first two or three rounds, perfectly reasonable pick to make. Yeah, he'd be a great pick to make because he was one fantasy point behind Justin Jefferson last year and. They were both behind Jamar chase by a wide margin, but nonetheless, he had the second most receptions in like the top 10. And you know, I mean, he might not get that many again, but he's gonna be up there. So we shall see. Now the next number eight in the lineup, second round, second pick, average draft position. And I do not agree with this one whatsoever. Brian Thomas Jr. Wide receiver outta Jacksonville. That offense is cheeks and fantasy purposes. I feel like this is a big time reach. There are just so many other players out there that I feel like I would rather have than somebody from the Jacksonville Jaguars offense. Yeah, there's, I, I think that when you take a look at the type of receiver he is, the physical freak, the size, speed combo, and the way he really came on at the end of last season, the upside, you get it, you're like, oh, the, the ceiling is as high as anyone's ceiling, right? Yeah, for sure. So, you know, it's easy to see what he did. At the end of last season and get those stars in your eyes and just be like, dollar signs, brother, we're, we're going fucking nuclear this season. But there's a lot of question marks here. For one, the offensive line was bad last year. Did they do enough to upgrade? My suspicion is no. I think they're probably gonna be a bad offensive line again. The second thing is that, yeah. He came on as his season went on the rookie season. And yeah, that's a normal sort of progression. It happens a lot of times where rookie receivers do better back after the year, after the, the bye week, whatever, yada, yada. But also, that wasn't the full story. It was also that. Mack Jones was his quarterback when he was having those huge weeks. It wasn't Trevor Lawrence and so maybe, maybe it's just that he finally hit his stride and he, he, the offense clicked with him and he was playing faster, yada, yada. Or what I think is probably part of it is that Mac Jones was like, man, if I have any chance at succeeding in this, you know, brief the audition that I get. Back in the NFL, you know, it, it, the best thing I could do is just fucking target the shit out of this guy and hope he makes me a bunch of plays, which kind of happened, which kind of worked out, you know? And so the thing is like, is Trevor Lawrence just going to spread the ball around? Because the thing is that Trevor Lawrence has. Basically been like a spread it around sort of guy with Christian Kirk, with even Alan Robinson, was he, when he was there, his rookie year with Evan Ingram. And just not necessarily leaning on just one guy. And then with all of that already being said, then they draft in the top five. A, a guy who they, they came out and said is going to be first a wide receiver and then second cornerback. And they hope to play him on both sides of the ball to some degree. But the thing is that they say first and foremost, he's gonna start as a wide receiver. So the thing is that he, a lot of scouts thought that he might've been the best wide receiver in this class right up there with t. McMillan and if he wasn't the dual threat guy, he probably still could have gone in the top 10 as one or the other. And so the thing is like if he's really that good at wide receiver, it's hard to imagine that he doesn't cut into Bryan Thomas. Now we haven't seen him on a football field. We've seen it from Brian Thomas. He was great at the end of last year. So you know, don't hear what I'm not saying here. I'm not saying, oh, Travis Hunter is. You know, draft him in the first round. No, no, no. It's not like that. It, but it is just another and several question marks that I think we've got with Brian Thomas that we don't really have, not to that degree with these other guys we've been talking about. Yeah. We couldn't, couldn't agree more with that sentiment. Yeah. You know, Travis Hunter's definitely gonna cut into that, to that share. But somebody who I would take ahead of Brian Thomas is our next candidate. At number nine in the wide receiver group. Second round, six pick overall in the second round. Drake, London, I don't care which quarterback is throwing him the rock, I think he's in for a good year. Kind of the same with Aman Ross, St. Brown. Like, I like his position because I think that would be a steal at, at, in the second round. I think he could sneak his way into the first round. But I also, you know. I think he should go higher, and he's another one of my candidates that's better than CD Lamb. Oh man, everyone, everyone's better than CD Lamb. Everybody's better than CD Lamb, that that needs to be the title, hate title of the steps. Oh, it definitely will be. Everybody's better than CD Lamb. Mayor, are you high? Are you as high on Drake, London as I am. Yeah, I, another guy that really didn't cross my mind when I was kind of initially going through like, what do I think my buckets will be as we, you know, get ready to talk about this this position tonight he kind of just slipped my mind. But last year he had a legitimate, like breakout season certainly for fantasy points toward the end of the season, but also like literally as a wide receiver, I mean. They eventually had him playing more in the slot than out wide, which really was great for him. He basically plays the same role, same position as Aman RA does for the Lions, where he's basically like this power slot that creates tons of mismatches with the linebackers, and he's really good at contested catch situations. He's also really good with. You know, with the ball in his hands getting yak. And honestly, if, if you look at how he moves versus how ahman Ross St. Brown moves, he's actually a little bit bigger and a little bit faster. So theoretically. Super high ceiling on this guy as well. I mean, you could see him completely dominating, getting like a 30% target share. You know, Darnell Mooney is useful. He's a professional level wide receiver to stretch the field and stuff like that. Cow pits sucks at being a wide receiver, but he is a very large human. So those guys are going to get some. But still, you could see him just being, just really dominating the target share. He, he's a, a big, huge guy. Great. That's contested catches for those sort of like back of the end zone red zone looks. I, I don't see why he's not gonna get double digit touchdowns plus maybe 115, 20 actual receptions. I mean, he is, he's, he's, he's in for a huge year I think. Yeah. Good. Yep. Next guy, AJ Brown, second round seventh pick. I'd be okay with that. It'd be a light eat for me just because he's kind of an Eagles. He's, he's an eagle and I feel like him and Devonta Smith are like, they're not that far off from each other. So it's just kind of like. I would, I want to get a bonafide player, like someone who's going to get a, a, a good amount of targets. And that is, is for sure gonna get the ball. You know who that guy might be? Mike Evans, down the line. Marvin Harrison, Jr. T Higgins, I, even though Jamar Chase is there, they gotta throw the ball. My boy lad defense lad McConkey, yeah, he's gonna get a ton. So I'm okay with this pick, but it's not my favorite. Second round. Pick that early on. I, I would rather go with t Higgins or Lat. Put your thoughts on AJ Brown. Yeah, I, I, it's actually a no yeet for me because I think he should be a little bit further down and now I'll tell you like that's fair. As a football fan, you watch this guy play. He is lead as a talent, like, hi, his skillset and, and his talent is second to none. I, I think that. If he was in the right offense, he could be like Justin Jefferson or Jamar. I think he's very, very, very good. Right, right. The problem is the team that he plays on, as you already alluded to, Devonte Smith, no slouch. And so he's gonna get at least something. And the thing is that they run the ball and play defense so well that they hardly ever have to throw the ball. They just don't have to throw the ball much and they don't want to. And Yep. Certainly AJ Brown has had his frustrations with the fact that they're not getting him the ball, and I could see where he's coming from because he's like, man, the, I'm in my peak. I'm in my fucking prime. I feel like I can play with the best receivers in the world and I'm just not getting used. But I don't think that's gonna change. I, I think that he's. Satisfied enough. He's not demanding trades or anything. They, I mean, they just won the Super Bowl. Oh, right. Yeah, he's, I think he's okay with that. That tends to make people happy. But you know, the thing is that like if you're a fantasy owner, you share in his frustration.'cause you're like, holy shit, you know? Jalen hurts, threw the ball 18 times, Jalen hurts, threw the ball 22 times. Ja. You know what I mean? So it's like even, even when he's getting a huge share of that, you know, a third of that, he's getting eight targets or whatever. It's not the same as when you've got other guys in the league. We've already talked about how often the Bengals throw the ball T Haggins. Right. Yeah. Last year was averaging 9.8 or something. Right on the border of double digits. You got Ladd McConkey by the end of his season. Again, guys that are typically being drafted after him Cortland Sutton with a huge target share. I mean, there's, there's, there's options. So many other guys with a over a hundred targets, right? Where he's sitting at like 90. Right? So it's, it's not that he's not that good because he is. I just expect that all those guys are bringing back on defense, all those offensive linemen they're bringing back. And of course, Saquon's still there on his two year deal or whatever. They, they extended him, so they're gonna keep running the ball until someone forces them to throw it. And I just don't expect them to be bad enough to where they're gonna have to throw it much. I, I, I just don't think, and just push. Yeah. Right. And, and they don't even, and the ush, they don't even use them. Yeah. The every time that they're like within the 10 yard line, it's Jalen, Hertz and Saquon every fucking time. So it's just as it should be. As it should be. Yeah. You can't blame him. Speaking of, speaking of who we like better, T Higgins you know, he's same draft second round, seventh pick. Like, like I said, I like his draft po, his depth chart just better in the fact that they have to score a lot because their defense is gonna be super suss. And, and like we just mentioned, his targets, you know, 109, he has 73 receptions last year, 222 fantasy points. Whereas AJ Brown, you know, not a small, not a large difference, but still 216, like those four or five points, man, that could be the difference in championships right there. So I, I love t Higgins anyway, and so I would feel comfortable drafting him there over AJ Brown for sure. Yeah, I, I think that it's kind of like a big. Basket basically. And, and instead of taking AJ Brown like at the front of that, that tier, you, you might as well just wait until the third round, the beginning of the third round and, and see who's there. Right. Yeah, because there's gonna be like a wide receiver that you're probably going to be just as comfortable with, or at least me, I'll be just as comfortable with instead of going there with it, you know, if one of those. Other first couple tiers of wide receivers falls to me there. I'd rather take him obviously, or maybe I just wanna go running back tight end. If, if I wanna go snag like Bowers or, or Trey McBride, if I want to go that route and I, I feel like I could wait on and still get a pretty top. Top notch wide receiver and the third a lot of times. Yeah, I agree. And that's a good, that's a good strategy there because AJ Brown, t Higgins lab, McConkey, they're all kind of in that same bucket for me. So really it, I'd rather have Lab McConkey and t Higgins and AJ Brown's gonna be my last one if the other two guys are gone. And so that's the next guy is Lad McConkey at and number nine in the second round. I'm totally okay with that there. And that's kind of the last guy. That's just like the other two in front of him. We know you love lad McConkey, and, and he certainly came out last year, made a, made a note for himself. You know, he really put it, puts got some eyeballs on him with his play. So, you know, I it maybe this year is a lot more of the same. Maybe it's a little bit more. Who knows with the tape. Now, obviously the second year always could be a sophomore slump, so, but I still like, like his style and he, he is a, he is a, you know, a reliable target. Yeah. I, I really like La McConkey. I won't bore any of our listeners. The same, the same, the same talk that we've already had about him. I would just say that for me, I think he's in the right bucket, so it's a he for me, but I would put him in at the top of that bucket. I, I, I like him ahead of those other names, but yeah, you, you summed it up. Excellent. Rookie year. Hopeful that he'll take yet another step. Alright. And then to kind of round it out, I kind of feel like everybody who's left. Is kind of in this, this bucket of like, old guys, can they still hit it? You know, you got Devonte Adams and then the third round Tyreek Hill, Terry Mc McLaurin, he's not old, but he, he is an excluded in that'cause The next is Mike Evans and then Rashid Rice is coming, coming back. So that kind of group the, to round out the third round into the fourth round. You know, we'll see what happens. Those are certainly great picks looking out for wide receiver, but maybe you might wanna take a chance on, you know, a younger, younger guy or, or a different position at the, at when you start getting into those round, if you load it up on wide receivers. So what are your thoughts on the final couple of guys there? Yeah, I, I think this is a really interesting sort of spot of the draft. Like you said, you could take. Guys that are risky because they're older, are they, you know, still the same guy? It's, it's different depending on which guy we're talking about. I think Tyreek's. Tyreek did look like he lost a step last season, so I'm not big on him. I expect him to be going the wrong direction. I did like what I saw from Devonte Adams, even though I think he's the oldest Yeah. Of this group here. I, I mean, he still just keeps playing at such a high level. I mean, I was, I was really impressed with when he got to New York, I mean. Not just the fact that he's on the same page with Aaron Rogers, but just watching him play, I mean, he looks like a really elite receiver. I mean he is, but does contending with Puka Nku, you know, affect him at all and Kyron Williams and, yes. You know, I mean, the Jets really didn't have, like, they had Alan Lazar and Garrett Wilson. Yeah, I hear you. But I think that the fact that Cooper Cup is now gone, and we did see several games where both pka Nku and Cooper Cup were, were, you know, just like Right. The, the entire passing offense. I think that that could happen with pka Nku and Devonte Adams. I don't expect Devonta Adams to out produce Puka Nku or be, you know, the alpha, if you will. But, but when we're talking about the, this group of guys, like who. Has shown that, that they have that in them. You know, who, who has already sort of proven that to us? I think it's, it's Devonte Adams and it's Tyreek Hill. And like I said, there's, you know, I, I've already seen the decline from Tyreek where I'm, I'm kind of forecasting the decline for Devonte, where, you know, it, he, he might still, still be there. I mean, you know, I think aside from Devonte, the other interesting guy here is rash rice. He got injured. Is he gonna be the same player off of the injury? Is he actually going to be out there and ready for week one? I'm not sure. Right. Maybe at some point in the season he gets to play or maybe at some point in the season he, he, he's back to a hundred percent, if you will. But the thing is that he had. An amazing start to last season, and if he could pick up anywhere near where he left off, then you know, he should be a couple buckets ahead of where he's at right now. So I think between Devonte Adams, you know, if you're afraid of the age, which I tend to be. I think it makes sense to take a shot on Tyreek Hill or excuse me, Rashi Rice. Just say, bro, you just spent the whole next, last minute trashing hill. Yeah. Now you're taking the chance. Yeah. I, I, I can't speak straight. I don't know what's wrong there. I didn't mean to say Tyreek. I'm meant say Rashi Rice. Rashi Rice, I think is a guy who's sort of on the other end of that. He's a young player, developing, seemed to be ascending quite well last season. I think if you wanna take a risk on high upside, perhaps going in the right direction, I think that makes sense too, right? Absolutely, man. Could, could not agree more on the wide receivers there and where they're gonna land. Cannot wait to, to do a draft and, and see what happens. I. That's all the scoops we got for you today.
