Jesus’ letter to the church in Laodicea warns against the danger of lukewarm faith—when believers become spiritually indifferent and rely on their own success instead of dependence on Him. Though the city was wealthy and prosperous, Jesus reveals that the church was actually spiritually poor, blind, and naked without realizing it. In love, He calls them to repent and receive true riches from Him: refined faith, righteousness, and spiritual sight. Even in rebuke, Jesus extends a powerful invitation—He stands at the door and knocks, offering renewed intimacy to anyone who opens their life to Him. The message reminds us that when we turn from self-sufficiency and return to Christ, we can once again live from the fullness and overflow of His presence.
