Spiritual warfare can be an uncomfortable subject, but Paul treats it as a normal reality of following Jesus. In 1 Thessalonians 2–3, he identifies Satan as the force behind opposition to his ministry and worries that the enemy might interfere with the spiritual growth of the Thessalonians. That doesn't mean every struggle is demonic, but Scripture calls us to consider spiritual opposition alongside sin, false beliefs, distractions, and wounds. The good news is that Christians don't have to live in fear of the enemy. The Holy Spirit gives us what we need to discern the battle, stand firm, and continue living in the abundance God our Father has provided.
