Using the airwaves for the good of individuals in the community was always her favorite part of broadcasting. Ever since Laura was a young girl, she had a deep longing in her heart to be a part of seeing peoples' lives be transformed. In 2017, Laura and her husband Kevin founded We See You San Diego, a non-profit with a mission to restore dignity, identity, hope & pathways out of addiction and homelessness for those living on the streets of San Diego. Every week We See You throws a dinner party where guests who live on the streets are welcomed into a safe, loving environment where those who attend are treated to a home-cooked meal and served as honored guests. Through relationships formed at their weekly dinner party, they are able to offer solutions such as detox & recovery/ treatment sponsorships to those who are ready to walk away from addiction and life on the streets.
San Diego's homeless population has reached alarming levels, ranking 4th in the country, with a 22% increase in people experiencing homelessness in San Diego County over the last year. Strikingly, 46% of people in the homeless community battle addiction. San Diego County has recently declared a Public Health Emergency over illegal fentanyl specifically.
We See You offers guests battling fentanyl, heroin, opioids, benzos, methadone, meth & alcohol addictions sponsorships to detox and treatment that they would otherwise be unable to afford. We See You then walks alongside people, continuing in relationship & community as individuals enter into a journey of recovery and healing in treatment programs.
