Picture this - standing on a stage, under the spotlight, a crowd waiting for your words, but you have a speech issue. I was this person, and believe it or not, it was an empowering moment for me. It was the moment when I realized that God uses our perceived disabilities as tools to magnify His glory. It's not about the big, unchangeable facts of our lives, but the small blessings that come our way. It's about how God uses our unique circumstances to reach out to others, even when we're struggling.

The Bible, often misunderstood, speaks to disability in such a profound way. It may seem offensive to some, but when looked at closely, it is brimming with love and support for those dealing with challenges. It encourages us to remain joyful, confident, and reassured in God's unwavering presence. More so, it urges us to extend this love to others, uplifting each other in times of need. Tune in to this episode for an eye-opening exploration of disability from a biblical perspective. You'll be inspired to see beyond your limitations, share God's love, and find strength in the most unexpected places.

Speaker 1:

We've done everything you've asked. Everything's going according to plan, cover we want county, and the backpack has never been stronger. So tell us, governor, what else can we do for you? I got it from here. Welcome to season 2, appearance Wagon Life Dogs.

Speaker 1:

This season I'm going to keep things off talking to you about what the Bible really says about people with disabilities and people like me. My first question is does the Bible really make disability look bad? In my experience and in my walk with Christ, no, it doesn't. Even in Jesus' house, people, there's also the inspiration that God clarifies through his teachings a lot of times that a user's, people with disabilities, would qualify him. And hear some scripture to back it up Psalm 139, 13,.

Speaker 1:

For you, for my inner parts, you knitted me together in my mother's womb. So you see, god knew from the very beginning that you can have a disability, and if disability is a bad thing, then why would God let you have a disability? This shows people how to adapt. When we need to not only decide the norm, but we also can put people if they have an injury or a dramatic back injury. We can still show people on how God still uses us through even our challenges and trials. So my next point is how God uses my disability. As you can see, I have my voice going out sometimes and sometimes I edit the part out again. But see, I'm showing you, despite my speech issues, I'm still doing what God's calling me to do. And if you're not doing what God's calling you to do, then what actually has to do with it? You are doing what God's calling you to do. You just don't realize it yet I'm talking to the nonbelievers and the believers. See, I think God knows what you're talking about. Yes, it's sometimes bad, sometimes nasty, but if you learn to trust God and trust His ways and trust, everything, work out not listening to the enemy and don't hurt anything and everything will work itself out.

Speaker 1:

Yes, god will heal people with disabilities, but he didn't heal them just because he's going to be going to have passion towards people with disabilities. And I know some people with disabilities don't want to get healed or have been told that. You know you're going to walk one day. You're going to walk one day. I believe you're going to walk and you have all this doubt creeping up inside of you and I think it's so. It's all going to keep going because even, yes, I can't walk. But, yes, god has blessed me with friends and community and he helped me out through my seasons and I gave glory to God for that. See, we can't focus on the big picture, like why can't I walk, why can't I do this, why can't I do that? Instead, I'm telling you today to focus on the small stuff. I'll give you an example.

Speaker 1:

When I did public speaking, my voice before I started was very, very, very, very bad, but I prayed about it. And when I got up on that stage, I felt a calling sensation on my throat. Now, before that, my throat was cramps and I was getting reflexes used and all this stuff. But when I got up on stage and shared my story for the last few minutes, I didn't have any of that. You know, yes, I felt it afterwards, but God allowed a window for me to speak to audiences and share my story and share my testimony.

Speaker 1:

So what I'm saying is I can do the same for you and I hope you can realize that. Here's some more scriptures to encourage you. See, I will bring them from the land of the North and gather them from the ends of the earth. The blind in the rain expat your mother's and your women and labor, a great throne where with her there might have 31 and 8. So you see, god called us the minister of the other people like us and the minister of the other people around the world.

Speaker 1:

I believe that we could be the change on the truth, on what Gospel says, even if you might say there's some defensive language, but that's how they talk back in those days, so that's how it was written and I use that language to perform. Yes, the word I'm calling offensive today and yes, it is offensive in some scenarios, but you gotta take me original context on what it is, and the original context is it does no matter if you're gonna discipline me or not what I'll call to share and share God's love and also, despite I just really got him a lot of people to help us through our challenges. And I challenge you today, even if you don't think you got no one, god is always there to be your friends, to be your father and to be the person you can cut off. So I challenge you today, whether if you got a speech problem, like I do with my simple policy, or you can't talk at all, or you can do something, I challenge you to keep smiling, keep doing what you're doing, because you never know if you can show God's love and make help God and back their life and plant that seed. Thank you for joining me for part one of what the Bible truly says about disability.

Speaker 1:

Join me next month for part two and tell your friends I don't say this often or live it until the morning, but if you want to help me out and by making speaking, and if you want to book me, please listen to my email at the end of this podcast. That's the reason why I'll play this email at the end of it by gas that I want people to get in touch with me, talk about the podcast, but I do the podcast two things one to share Jesus, but two to prove that I can public speak at your church, school and my various topics. I hope you have a good day and don't forget to be swagging and be confident. And here you are. You can email me at b-a-r-a-t-s dot, s-w-a-t-g-y l-i-f-e at gmocom.
