Deepak Chopra says the unknown is the field of all possibilities , ever fresh , ever new , always open to the creation of new manifestations Without uncertainty . And the unknown , life is just the stale repetition of outworn memories . He's talking in that quote about letting go of your attachment to the known and saying that by doing so , you are actually opening yourself up to something greater than you can possibly imagine . Today I'm going to talk about how to let go , how to intend what we want in life , but giving up your attachment to the result . Hi , I'm Thor Chalgren , welcome to . Every Day , a New Thought . Today I'm looking into the sixth law of success from Deepak Chopra's book , the Seven Spiritual Laws of Success . It's called the Law of Detachment . I've done an entire series of episodes seven in fact on this book and with all the other episodes you'll find them listed in the show description .

Today , this chapter is all about the law of detachment , the balance between what we want and how to allow it to come into our lives . First definition Deepak Chopra says at the beginning of the chapter that the law of detachment says that in order to acquire anything in the physical universe , you have to relinquish your attachment to it . Now , most of us , when we hear that , we think well , how do I achieve a goal and still be detached to it ? How does that work ? Well , first , he says that attachment , wanting something , is based on fear and insecurity . We think that the source of what we want is outside of us . He says that everything is a symbol money , cars , clothes , houses , airplanes . And he says and I love this quote chasing symbols is like settling for the map instead of the territory . So , out of a sense of insecurity or fear , we chase after these symbols , thinking that they'll bring us security . But , as he says , if you chase security , you'll spend your whole life doing it . Instead , deepak Chopra encourages us to embrace the unknown , uncertainty , to be open to new ways , new possibilities , fresh perspectives , because that's the place where we can create something that's never been created before . He tells us that when we lean into the infinite field of pure potentiality , this field can then orchestrate an infinity of events to bring about the result that we want .

So how do you apply this ? Here are three affirmations that you can employ every day to practice detachment . First one is today I will commit myself to detachment . I will allow myself and those around me the freedom to be as they are . Second affirmation today I will factor in uncertainty as an essential ingredient of my experience . The more uncertain things seem to be , the more secure I will feel , because uncertainty is my path to freedom . When I step into the field of all possibilities , I will experience all the fun , adventure , magic and mystery of life . I want more fun and adventure and magic in my life . What about you ?
