This week marks a powerful turning point in the sky as the Spring Equinox arrives and the Sun crosses 0° Aries—the beginning of the zodiac.
As this new astrological year begins, the Sun illuminates the territory where Saturn and Neptune have recently begun their new cycle, signaling the early emergence of a profound new chapter in our collective story.
Several important movements weave together this week:
Monday, March 18: Venus in Aries square Jupiter in Cancer expands emotions, desires, and generosity. This aspect can reveal where the heart wants to grow—and where we may need balance.
Monday, March 18: New Moon at 28° Pisces invites release and completion. Pisces closes the zodiacal cycle, dissolving old forms and preparing the ground for something new.
The New Moon occurs close to the territory where Saturn and Neptune have begun their new cycle, highlighting a collective question:
What dreams are ready to become real, and what structures can no longer hold the future that is emerging?
Friday, March 20: Spring Equinox – The Sun entering Aries marks the beginning of a new astrological year as light begins to grow again in the Northern Hemisphere.
Friday, March 20: Mercury stations direct at 8° Pisces, gradually bringing clarity after three weeks of reflection and recalibration. In Pisces, insight often arrives through intuition, dreams, and quiet realization.
Saturday, March 21: Mars in Pisces trining Jupiter in Cancer supports compassionate action and courage guided by emotional wisdom.
Sunday, March 22: Sun conjunct Neptune in Aries opens a doorway to vision and imagination as new possibilities begin to appear.
Early next week, Sun conjunct Saturn in Aries will begin grounding these visions into responsibility and form.
By mid-April, Mercury will also cross this Aries threshold, bringing our thinking and communication more fully into this emerging era.
This week feels like standing at a shoreline—leaving one landscape behind while the next one slowly comes into view.
Reflection Questions for the Week
- What in your life feels complete or ready to dissolve as this Pisces cycle ends?
- What small spark of new direction is quietly asking for your courage?
- What dream might be asking not only to inspire you—but to become something real?

Hello, welcome to Astrology Alchemy. I'm Sheila Bellagio, your host for this podcast. Alchemy is defined as a seemingly magical process of transformation. Spiritual alchemy is the process of pursuing the gold of your true nature. By transmuting the unrefined limiting parts of yourself. In this podcast, I'll offer you inspiring insights from current astrology cycles that support your path of turning your personal lead into gold. More resources are available at the website on the edges of change.com. Hello, and welcome to episode number 356 of the Astrology Alchemy Podcast. I'm your host and guide, Sheila Baer, and this is for the week of March 16th, 2026. A phrase from this week's podcast poem, make a place where the day speaks to the night. Hello everyone. This week carries the feeling of standing at a threshold. Several cycles are gathering right at the very beginning of the zodiac. Zero degrees of varies, the place where the entire astrological wheel begins again. And this year that crossing point is especially alive because Saturn and Neptune have recently begun their new cycle there marking the start of a very long chapter in our collective story. So this week we are not only moving through a few planetary cycles, we are stepping across a seasonal and in symbolic boundary. From the last waters of Pisces into the first spark of Aries, you might think of the process this week as moving from the ocean towards the shoreline, where the new landscape of the future is just beginning to come Interview. On Wednesday, March 18th, Venus in Aries Squares Jupiter in cancer. This can amplify feelings. Desire becomes louder, emotion becomes bigger. Generosity expands sometimes beyond its natural limits. Squares between planets often ask us to notice where something has grown larger than expected. Perhaps you're saying yes too quickly. Perhaps your heart is expanding in ways that are generous in life-giving and, and where might it be overreaching. Sometimes this kind of aspect simply reveals how much we care. Also on Wednesday we have the New Moon at 28 degrees of Pisces at 6:23 PM Pacific Daylight Time. Pisces. The very last sign of the Zodiac Pisces is the ocean of the astrological cycle. This is where old forms dissolve. Where stories soften, where something that once held shape begins to release this particular new Moon at the very end of Pisces is very close to the territory where Saturn and Neptune are now beginning their long cycle together. Saturn represents structure, law, and the shaping forces of reality. Neptune represents imagination, dreams, dissolution, and the mysterious waters beyond certainty. They are a paradoxical joining form and formlessness when these two meet Humanity enters periods where the question becomes, where the questions are. What is real now? What dreams must take form and what structures can no longer hold the future that is emerging. This New Moon plants a seed inside that larger question and then larger question is both personal and very collective. Those larger questions, but remember. New moons begin in darkness. We cannot see the moon's face. We are not meant to see the full shape of the future yet. And then on Friday, March 20th, the sun crosses the great threshold of the Zodiac and enters Aries. For those of us living in the Northern hemisphere, this is the spring equinox. Light and darkness stand in perfect balance for a moment. Then the light begins to grow again. Every year this is a renewal place, but this year the renewal is magnified because the sun is crossing the very territory where Saturn and Neptune have just begun their new era together. The sun illuminates what it touches. So as the sun enters Aries, it begins to light the first fires of a cycle that will unfold over many years. On this same day Friday, mercury goes forward at eight degrees of Pisces after three weeks of retrograde motion. The retrograde motion has invited us to this deep inner reflection on dreams, imagery, unconscious patterns, so sort of cook and meander with them. Mercury retrograde in Pisces often dissolves our usual certainty. Plans blur. Stories soften. Old assumptions drift away when mercury turns direct. Here, clarity slowly returns, but it returns through intuition rather than rigid, rigid logic. Notice this week, insight may come through a dream, a conversation, a quiet realization. An unusual Synchrony. It's less about forcing answers and more about listening for what is beginning to make sense again. And then on Saturday, March 21st, we receive a supportive aspect as Mars in Pisces Trines, Jupiter in Cancer. Water supports water, Pisces and cancer are water signs. Mars the warrior here is not aggressive. It is compassionate courage. The kind of action that comes from empathy and emotional truth, which we can definitely use right now in our world. Compassionate courage. Jupiter in Cancer amplifies protection. Care and the instinct to nurture life together. Mars and Jupiter can remind us that strength does not always look like confrontation. Sometimes it looks like standing with one another, protecting what matters, and acting from the wisdom of the heart. And then on Sunday, March 22nd, the sun in Aries Conjoins with Neptune. This is the first time the sun has exactly illuminated Neptune in this new sign. Neptune carries imagination, myth, and vision. When the sun meets Neptune, the veil between what is. And what could be becomes very thin. People often feel inspiration under this kind of sky, but they may also feel uncertainty. The dissolving that Neptune brings, the old maps may not quite work anymore. We know that, and the new maps are still forming. So the invitation here is not to demand immediate clarity, but to allow vision to emerge gradually and just a little looking ahead to next week. As we move into next week, the sun will then meet Saturn and Aries. So we move from vision of Neptune toward responsibility of Saturn. Dreams will begin asking for structure. Possibility will begin asking for commitment. That is the rhythm of Saturn and Neptune together. How do we make a vision grounded and real? How do we be accountable and responsible to our empathy and compassion? And then one more small piece of the story. Mercury has turned direct in Pisces this week and now seems to move forward through the Zodiac. By mid-April, mercury will also cross this theme, same threshold, and enter Aries at that time. Another of our personal planets will soon step across this line between eras when Mercury does our thinking. Communication and decision making will begin moving more directly into this new territory. So consider this moment we're in right now as a kind of preparation, a pause at the edge of the water before stepping fully onto new ground. It'll review a larger arc process. If we step back and look at the whole week, the arc looks a little something like this. The last waters of Pisces, a new moon planting seeds in the dark, the sun crossing into Aries, bringing us Equinox vision emerging with Neptune. Responsibility approaching with Saturn, we are crossing a shorelan line, leaving one landscape behind and beginning to glimpse another. Here are three reflections for you this week as you move through your days. Gently reflect on these three questions. Where in your life does something feel complete, dissolving, or ready to be released? I what small spark of new direction is quietly asking for your courage? And what dream might be asking, not just to inspire you, but to become something real. The poem that honors your journey this week, all of our journeys this week is called Holding the Light by Stuart Kestenbaum, holding the light for Kate Rhodes. Gather up whatever is glittering in the gutter. Whatever has tumbled in the waves or fallen in flames out of the sky for it's not only our hearts that are broken, but the heart of the world as well. Stitch it back together. Make a place where the day speaks to the night and the earth speaks to the sky. Whether we created God or God created us. It all comes down to this. In our imperfect world, we are meant to repair and stitch together what beauty there is. Stitch it with compassion and wire. See how everything we have made. It gathers the light inside itself and overflows a blessing. So dear ones this week, may you be guided and supported to repair and stitch together what beauty there is, and to notice what you gather. That is the light inside overflowing frosting, that great ancient seasonal line into spring. The light is growing. Thank you. And a big shout of love and appreciation to all those who continue to support this podcast in so many ways. Your generous donations, your listening, heart ears, your passing on the links to other people who might find this podcast helpful, big bow of gratitude.
