Where Is Your Source of Genuine Meaning?
This week the pressure deepens.
It opens on Memorial Day in the United States, a moment when a nation is asked to honor its dead, even as it struggles to honestly name what so many of them died for, and what continues to be sacrificed in the service of systems that were never designed for everyone.
An Elder perspective (which we can all carry) does not bypass that tension. It holds it.
Key Cycles This Week:
Monday, May 25: Mars in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius.
Memorial Day. A confrontation between force and transformation. Where your will or resources meet something that does not yield easily, this is not a transit to push through with more force. Stay grounded. Feel where your actual resources are. Resist the pull toward reaction in a week that will offer plenty of provocation.
Collectively, this transit on Memorial Day carries particular weight. The structures of power being challenged right now were built on specific choices, specific violence, specific mythologies of superiority. That is not abstract history. It is present architecture.
Tuesday, May 26: Sun in Gemini trines Pluto in Aquarius.
A day later, tension eases into something more workable. What felt like confrontation yesterday may begin to reveal its deeper pattern. A good moment for clarity, for seeing beneath the surface with less distortion and more genuine perception.
Thursday, May 28: Venus in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries.
The Relational One in the nurturing sign of Cancer meets the Structurer, and it is not an easy meeting. This transit carries a deeper archetypal current worth naming. Venus represents the feminine principle, relational and attuned to what nourishes connection. Saturn in its wounded expression becomes external authority that restricts and defines what the feminine is permitted to be or decide.
This is the oldest survival pattern many have inherited, the feminine adapting and deferring under systems never designed to hold her sovereign. We are watching that pattern in its most literal form right now, in the ongoing legislative assault on women's autonomy and rights. This transit asks where in your own life you have been running on adaptation rather than authentic choice. That clarity, even if tender, is more useful than the blur.
Sunday, May 31: Full Moon at 10 degrees of Sagittarius and Mercury in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries.
The Full Moon illuminates the Gemini-Sagittarius axis, the axis of information and meaning. Gemini gathers data. Sagittarius asks what it means and what larger truth it serves. In a time when information is being generated and weaponized at unprecedented scale, this lunation asks where your source of genuine meaning actually is. Not what you have been told to believe, but what in your own deeper knowing actually orients you.
Mercury sextiling Chiron weaves in the wounded healer thread. Something that has needed to be said may find its moment here.
Larger Frame
This week moves from confrontation to clarity to limitation to illumination. What is being asked is a particular kind of maturity. To stay present to what is difficult without collapsing into it. To be honest about relational limitation without abandoning the longing for genuine care. To locate ourselves not in the information stream, which is vast and often deliberately disorienting, but in genuine meaning.
That is always the Elder's work. To hold the longer view when immediate pressure makes the longer view feel impossible.
Reflection Questions
- Where am I being asked to meet something immovable this week, and what does genuine power look like in that encounter, as distinct from force or reaction?
- In my relational field, where am I being called to greater honesty about what is genuinely nourishing versus what has been running on adaptation rather than authentic choice?
- Beneath the volume and speed of the current information field, what actually orients me? What is my source of genuine meaning?
This is a week that asks for groundedness more than brilliance. You do not have to have answers. You are asked only to stay present to what is real, resist the pull toward reaction, and keep returning to what genuinely orients you.
The web of life holds more than the current noise suggests.

In this podcast, I'll offer you inspiring insights from current astrology cycles that support your path of turning your personal lead into gold. More resources are available at the website ontheedgesofchange.com. Hello, and welcome to episode number 366 of the Astrology Alchemy Podcast. This is for the week of May 25th, 2026. I'm your host and guide, Shelia Bélanger Phrase from this week's poem, "If we surrender to Earth's intelligence" We move into this week carrying everything the last several weeks have asked of us. The recalibration of the personal field, the slowing of the body, and the quickening of the mind, the reckoning with what has been living in the basement personally and collectively This week, the pressure deepens. And in the United States, it opens on Memorial Day, a moment when a nation is asked to honor its dead, even as it struggles to honestly name what so many of them died for, and what continues to be sacrificed in the service of systems that were never designed for everyone An elder perspective, which we all carry, does not bypass that tension. It holds it Here are the key cycles for this week. Monday, May twenty-fifth, Mars in Taurus squares Pluto in Aquarius. This is a confrontation between force and transformation. Mars in Taurus moves slowly but with tremendous power. Pluto in Aquarius is restructuring collective systems at the root. When they meet in a square, the tension between what wants to persist and what must transforms becomes impossible to ignore. You might feel this as an encounter with an immovable force, a place where your will, your resources, or your sense of what is right meets something that does not yield easily This is not a cycle to push through with more force. Mars in Taurus already knows this. Taurus is the sign that understands the difference between genuine power and wasted effort The invitation here is to stay grounded, to feel where your actual resources are, and to resist the pull toward reaction in a week that will offer plenty of provocation Collectively, Mars square Pluto on Memorial Day carries particular weight. The structures of power being challenged now, the systems being asked to tranf- transform did not build themselves. They were built on specific choices, specific violence, specific mythologies of superiority. That is not abstract history. It is present architecture On Tuesday, May 26th, the sun in Gemini trines Pluto in Aquarius. A day later, the tension eases into something more workable. Where Mars squared Pluto with friction, the sun trines Pluto with flow. The conscious self archetype moves in alignment with the transformer archetype. What felt like confrontation yesterday may begin to reveal its deeper pattern today. This is a good moment for clarity, for seeing beneath the surface of what is happening in your own life and in the larger field with less distortion and more genuine perception Let this cycle do its work. It supports honest reckoning without the charge of combat On Thursday, May 28th, Venus in Cancer squares Saturn in Aries. The relational archetype Venus in the nurturing sign of Cancer meets the structurer Saturn in the fire go-for-it sign of Aries, and it is not an easy meeting Venus in Cancer longs for genuine belonging, for safety in relationship, for the kind of care that holds without condition Saturn in Aries, by contrast, is direct, demanding, and unsentimental about reality. Their square can surface tension between what the heart needs and what circumstances currently allow, between longing and limitation, between what you want to give or receive in relationship and what is actually sustainable or available right now There is a deeper archetypal current running through this cycle that is worth naming. Venus has always represented the feminine principle, relational, receptive, attuned to what nourishes connection. Saturn, in its wounded expression, becomes the voice of external authority that restricts, controls, and defines the boundaries of what the feminine is permitted to be, to want, or to decide. Of course, this is not only personal. It is the oldest survival pattern many have inherited, the feminine learning to adapt, diminish, and defer under systems that were never designed to hold her sovereign. We are watching that pattern play out in the most literal ways right now. The ongoing legislative assault in the United States on women's bodies, autonomy, and rights is Saturn's shadow. Fear-based authority attempting to contain what it cannot control. This transit asks us to feel that tension without either collapsing into it or bypassing it Venus in Cancer is asking, what is genuinely being nourished in your life right now? And what has been running on adaptation rather than authentic choice? That clarity, even if tender, is more useful than the blur On Sunday, May 31st, we have a full moon at 10 degrees of Sagittarius. On the same day, Mercury in Gemini sextiles Chiron in Aries. The full moon in Sagittarius illuminates across the Gemini-Sagittarius axis, the axis of information and meaning. The sun is in Gemini, and across the way is the full moon in Sagittarius. Gemini-Sagittarius axis is about data and wisdom of what we know and what we believe This is a very potent lunation for a moment when those distinctions matter enormously. Gemini gathers information. Sagittarius asks what it means. What story does it point toward? What larger truth does it serve? In a time when information is being generated, manipulated, and weaponized at unprecedented scale, this full moon asks, where is your source of genuine meaning? Not what you have been told to believe, not what the loudest voices are insisting is true, but what in your own experience and your own deeper knowing actually orients you May the full moon illuminate this for you Mercury sextiling Chiron on this same day weaves in the wounded healer archetype thread of Chiron. There is medicine available in honest speech right now, Mercury's the communicator archetype, in naming what has been silently carried, in the conversations that acknowledge wound without being consumed by it. Something that has needed to be said may find its moment here So this week moves from confrontation to clarity, to limitation, to illumination. This is not a comfortable arc, but it's an honest one. What's being asked of us, as it's continually being asked of us individually and collectively, is a particular kind of maturity, the capacity to stay present to what is difficult without collapsing into it To feel the weight this week of what Mars square Pluto names without losing access to the clarity that the Sun trine Pluto offers. And to be honest about relational limitation without abandoning the longing for genuine care The full moon in Sagittarius at week's end asks us to locate ourselves, not just in the information stream, which is vast and often deliberately disorienting, but in genuine meaning, in what actually orients us when the noise is stripped away This is always the elder's work, to hold the longer view when the immediate pressure makes the longer view feel impossible Here are three reflection questions to support you this week. First, where this week am I being asked to meet something immovable? And what does genuine power look like in that encounter as distinct from force or reaction? Second one. In my relational field, where I, am I being called to greater honesty about what is genuinely nourishing and what has been running on hope rather than substance? And lastly, beneath the volume and speed of the current information field, what actually orients me? What is my source of genuine meaning? So this is a week that asks for groundedness more than brilliance. For the patience of Mars and Taurus, for the honesty of Saturn's reality principle, for the meaning-making capacity of the Sagittarius full moon You do not have to have answers this week. You are asked only to stay present to what is real, to resist the pull toward reaction, and to keep returning to what genuinely orients you. The web of life holds more than the current noise suggests. Trust that And the poem that comes to support you this week is a very beloved one for me. It's by a poet I adore, Rainer Maria Rilke. It's called How Surely Gravity's Law How surely gravity's law, strong as an ocean current, takes hold of the smallest thing and pulls it toward the heart of the world. Each thing, each stone, blossom, child, is held in place. Only we, in our arrogance, push out beyond what we each belong to for some empty freedom If we surrender to Earth's intelligence, we could rise uprooted like trees. Instead, we entangle ourselves in knots of our own making and struggle lonely and confused So like children, we begin again to learn from the things because they are in God's heart. They have never left him or her. This is what the things can teach us To fall, patiently to trust our heaviness. Even a bird has to do that before he can fly So this week, dear ones, let gravity hold you. Let it hold you in place. Surrender to the intelligence of the Earth, particularly those in the Northern Hemisphere, where spring is emerging. Align with the deep wisdom of nature and cycles. Root like trees. Hold fast to your embodied connection to the world Patiently trust your heaviness before you can fly Thank you so much.
