Mercury, the Communicator and Storyteller, enters Cancer on Monday and will remain there, through retrograde, until August 9. Nearly ten weeks of the mind moving through the waters of feeling, memory, ancestral knowing, and the interior life. This is not a week for speed or surface. It is a week for depth and for what the feeling body knows that the analytical mind cannot easily reach.

Monday, June 1: Mercury enters Cancer, remaining there through retrograde motion until August 9. 

Mercury in Cancer thinks through feeling and communicates through attunement. For those trained by dominant culture to distrust feeling as a source of knowing, this extended transit is an invitation into a different way of understanding. What do you know through your body? Through what arises when you are still enough to listen? Simply notice the shift as it begins.

Tuesday, June 2: Sun in Gemini sextiles Saturn in Aries. 

A grounding thread. The Conscious Self connects easily with the Structurer, offering clarity and form. A good day for honest communication and bringing practical shape to what the interior work of the week is revealing. Just enough groundedness to keep the inward turn from becoming untethered.

Wednesday, June 3: Mercury in Cancer squares Neptune in Aries. 

Just days into Cancer, Mercury meets the Dissolver. Blur, emotional porousness, the thinning of boundaries between what is yours and what belongs to the collective field. This is not a transit for important decisions. It is a transit for poetry, for dream, for the kind of knowing that arrives sideways through image and metaphor. There is information in the blur. It simply speaks a different language than analysis.

And lastly, when the blur arrives, when clarity dissolves and something moves through me that I cannot easily name, can I stay with it long enough to let it speak in its own language? I'm gonna offer you a poem for this week that I've offered you before, and it just wanted to come back. For me, it definitely invites communication, connection with something that is more numinous, not cognitive at all, evocative, imaginal, mysterious. It's called Daybreak by Galway Kinnell On the tidal mud, just before sunset, dozens of starfishes were creeping. It was as though the mud were a sky, and enormous imperfect stars moved across it as slowly as the actual stars cross heaven. All at once they stopped, and as if they had simply increased their receptivity to gravity, they sank down into the mud, faded down into it and lay still. And by the time pink of sunset broke across them, they were as invisible as the true stars at daybreak Quietly let your heart and your body and your emotions track what might be invisible to your conscious mind, what might be traveling in its own pattern of deep intuitive knowing, aligned with something more mysterious and bigger than human awareness.
