Hello to all. Welcome to D Visit Care Network. I am Joyce Benning and I will be your host for this invigorating robust lifestyle show. I want to thank each one of our listeners that have tuned in live today and the ones that will be listening to the recording on the podcast. I am so very grateful and thankful for each and every one of you. And I am just so excited today to have with me a mother-daughter team that has shared their story in the upcoming, soon-to-be released Our Mothers, Our Daughters, Divas That Care book. And oh my, are you all in for a very invigorating show today? As I have Rosanna as the mother and Jessica as her daughter. And could I please have each one of you introduce yourself to our listeners today?

SPEAKER_03

Sure, sure. No problem. I'm Jessica. I am uh 40 years old, and I have this amazing relationship with my mom. We're more like best friends that, you know, work together, inspire each other, um, try to eat healthy, and you know, we're doing multiple businesses together, and it's you know, it's a lot of fun.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, yep. Um, Jessica is one of my best creations, I might say. Um we we definitely have gone way past mother-daughter. We're partners, we are fitness coaches for each other, we're managers for a management consulting company. Together, we have opened a new line of business this year, a health and fitness uh low-carb gluten-free business and uh Food Truck to Come. And we also are are establishing a community arts program for the young people that are not good in sports and uh no longer have funding in their schools and now can be part of a science fair and a talent show series with the local Bowser Legion. So we are super excited. It's a great year for us.

SPEAKER_01

Yep. Oh my goodness, you two are incredible. I absolutely love it. You as a mother-daughter team, you are just touching my heart, and I love how Jessica said right away. You said you inspire each other, and oh my goodness, I can feel that in the energy that you two are both putting out because you're both vibrant, you're both robust, you're just you're full of life, and you love doing what you're doing together. Oh, this your introduction was just beautiful. I loved it.

SPEAKER_02

Yep, yep. It's good life. We we do give each other great ideas, and out of each idea comes another idea. Yes. So, for example, there was a little market that used to happen in our our local area, a little open market where local vendors could sell their stuff and it closed uh COVID and all of that. Jessica had the idea of reopening it in partnership with the Bowser Legion, and uh so many success stories have come out of it. Little vendors that, you know, could now restart selling their wares. We identified our own grandma Moses, an elderly, very talented lady that um is a painting genius uh who now sells her wares quite successfully. We had a band that was just two people, that is now five people. It's just like amazing karma.

SPEAKER_03

And actually the arts and science program came from one of our events. We had a um art contest, you know, for the children. For the children, you know, and out of that there was like all this interest from the kids. The kids actually came to the event based on the um art contest, and we realized that there weren't a lot of things for kids to do that were arts and sciences related. And we were like, well, we we we can change that.

SPEAKER_02

We created that. So we now are scheduling, we already have it on the books. Um if you just listen, people will tell you what they need. So on the books, we've got a bunch of community dances that are coming up uh for the adults and the children, family events. Then there's a science fair coming up, yeah, and there's also a talent show coming up. So we are supercharged. Yep.

SPEAKER_01

Oh wow. Oh, I can I can feel that. I can hear it in both of you. That is that is just awesome. You are doing so much to make the world a better place. So many humanitarian projects that you are working on and helping the world. Oh, that is just beautiful. I love it. Well, you've said so much already, but what would you say was maybe s the real tipping point that said that inspired you both that said we need to share our story in our mother's, our daughters, Viva Sex.

SPEAKER_02

Uh actually, you know, it's funny you should say that. First of all, the author, the publisher of the book, Candice Gish, is such an amazing, brilliant person. Anything she asks us to be involved in, we will do, of course. But besides that, we've met so many dysfunctional um families. It's really sad that these people can't get connected, they can't integrate with each other in a positive way. We try very hard. One of our other projects is creating a community support group just for that reason to help bridge that gap. Um, but sometimes you need an alignment. You need someone else to come between and show each other the benefits of aligning and and you know, finding the good in each other. And we are a good example of that. So we try to show by example, um, you know, we're not a perfect pair, certainly both of us have our flaws, but what we try to align is the good bits, you know, and help each other through the bad parts. So yeah, I think that it's important. The book is really important because all the different stories help you realize that mothers and daughters don't come out of cookie cutter cutter forms, right? They're all different, but there's a way to align if you want.

SPEAKER_03

And a lot of the time the daughter and the mother all often are speaking the same language, but just using different words. So we we offer kind of like a bridge gap between those two different, you know, populations. Absolutely. So um we just thought that the book would be an excellent way of saying of, you know, getting mothers and daughters to come together and say, Oh, I want that relationship. I want to have a best friend relationship beyond beyond just, you know, this person being biologically related related. Don't people say that the best way to teach is by example?

SPEAKER_02

Right? Don't they say? Right. And so what we try to do is come out in front of people and show them that you can be a mother-daughter, you can still have conflicts, but you can have a positive outcome of your relationship.

SPEAKER_01

Oh yes. Oh, every word of that was so true, and starting with what an amazing woman Candace is, yes. And how you're you're speaking you're both speaking the same language, you're just saying it in different terms and different words. You're putting it in and coming together and knowing that yes, there are challenges in every every relationship in a mother-daughter relationship, but you can work through them by talking it out, talking to one another and working together like that. Oh, what a beautiful inspiration and teach by example. Boy, that is so true. And you two are a great example of what what comes when you start to work together and talk to one another. Just beautiful. Well, what what is you've shared a lot already, but what is from each one of you a golden nugget that you would share with our litin listeners that would inspire them even more to say, I want to read their story, I want to read every story in this our mother's, our daughters book. What would be a golden nugget from each one of you?

SPEAKER_02

One thing I would inspire every mother to do is learn from their children. Right? Jessica has taught me so much, so I would I would say that's my golden nugget. Listen to them, really listen. And they have wisdom that you don't appreciate because they're children. And then as they get older, if you still have a good relationship with them, you realize how wise they actually were. So that as a mirror to myself, Jessica is invaluable. So I would use that one.

SPEAKER_03

I would also I think the book is important for sh for daughters to realize is that their their mothers are just doing the very best that that they can with the information that they have. My mom makes so many amazing decisions every single day. But I think it's important for daughters especially to realize that their mothers are are human, that you know they're doing the very best that they can. And this book is an excellent way for daughters to r to to bridge that gap of realizing that the their mothers are hum human. So many, so many miscommunications happen because parent uh because children don't realize that the parents are just doing the very best that they can. They're under the same stress that you are under and more, and this is a great way to bridge that gap between between these two people.

SPEAKER_01

Oh, those were just great golden nuggets. I'm I am so excited. I I am just ready to have the book in my hand so I can read your story and every other one of these stories.

SPEAKER_02

We're easily waiting at the minute.

SPEAKER_03

SPEAKER_02

I would love to have both of you back on the Robust Lifestyles show in the future and just share more and keep us updated on all of the community work you two are doing and the activities. I loved what you said about the farmers market, is what uh we call it around this area, bringing small vendors together where they can each share what they are doing and their unique talents. And it is just it is just incredible. I would I love that too. I just would love to have both of you back and just keep us updated on everything that's happening in your two's life.
