We have so many amazing hosts now on our program, so you want to go check them out at divasthatcarecom. And today, guys, I am so excited Tanya Miller is back in the house. I am so excited.
Speaker 2:I have not talked to this amazing diva for so long, and I am just so happy that we're able to catch up. So, Tanya, welcome back.
Speaker 3:Thank you, thank you, thank you, candice, and so just amazed to hear you guys are knocking on birthday 12. Like, oh my gosh, y'all are preaching, but that's amazing to hear. That's just so awesome that you guys have been able to do what you do for so long and obviously everyone appreciates. You know you guys, you divas, you know that care, so that's just truly awesome and, like you said, I am happy to catch up with you. I miss you guys a lot.
Speaker 2:Oh, I will miss you also and you've had a long trial here in the last little while, but I'm excited just to have you back. Tanya, before we kind of dive into today's program, would you introduce yourself to our new listeners?
Speaker 3:Absolutely so. Hey to the Divas at Care family. My name is Tanya Tanya J Miller of Tanya J Miller LLC and, talking with Tanya, I'm an author, coach, speaker, strategist. I help people and organizations figure out how to fit the puzzle pieces of life together so that they can do them right and well. And when they do that, I'm helping them to be able to do life and leadership unapologetically you know, on their terms, according to their purpose.
Speaker 2:Well, I love it and you've done some pretty amazing things out there and you know it's always great to follow you and to see how you've been doing. And so, tanya, what is new in the last couple of years? Because we really haven't talked to you.
Speaker 3:And we'd love to.
Speaker 2:Yeah, hear more about it.
Speaker 3:Yeah, you know. So I definitely don't mind sharing. You know why I've been away. I've been drastically sick. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease. I was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease a couple of what they call co-infections, meaning when I got bit by the infected insect may have been a tick, may have been a spider or kind of thinking it was a spider, but when I got bit I was infected with two other diseases that the spider was carrying In addition to that when it was in my system, basically it attacked me, everything in my blood, and just decided to say hey, we're taking a camp, we're burying further and further in your body.
Speaker 3:We're not going anywhere, no. So when you said it's not going anywhere, it just started wreaking havoc in my entire body, my brain, everything and so it gave me what they call face trees and lime leaves, and for me, I have zero limes as well. So it's been a journey, you know.
Speaker 3:just trying to figure out, honestly not figure out, trying to keep my fight and my will, you know, to live, because, you know, at some points and times, with different things, it was literally almost like touching those was really bad and the disease, unfortunately, you're in pain 24-7. And so that's another thing too. To like wait, hold on, like why am I in pain? Oh yeah, that's part of the disease. So it's a disease where it literally affects everybody differently. It just whatever you know, it's kind of like. However, what you know, your blood responds to it. That's what happens to you.
Speaker 3:But, we've been fighting. We've been in treatment since about almost two years now since about November 2020, and now we're introducing some alternative treatments that we didn't try at first. But you know, I'm just choosing to live. I think that was the first thing you know.
Speaker 1:I answered when you said how am.
Speaker 3:I doing and that's kind of my mantra, you know, personally, for 2022. And you know why I even called it, you know 22. It's mine if I want it, and that's kind of the same thing for everybody. Mine if you. It's mine if I want it, and that's kind of the same thing for everybody. If you want it like you need to fight for what's yours because you don't need to let anything or anybody take what's your worth or what's wrong with you. So I'm fighting.
Speaker 2:I love your spirit and I'm glad to be back oh, girl, I am so happy to have you back and happy to hear from you and you know I have definitely been praying for you and I know that this is going to be an amazing year for you and you are doing so many things for others while going through this, and one of the things that you're doing is the Me Project.
Speaker 2:Tell us a little bit about that, because you know, guys, if you haven't had the chance to talk to or listen to Tanya at all, you're going to want to, because she is so empowering and motivating.
Speaker 3:And, yes, let's talk about this new project of yours.
Speaker 3:You, by the way, like I'm like, oh, is that me she's talking about? But seriously, the Me Project, you know, I tell people 2020, 21, and even kind of 22,. We're now just trying to figure out, like we were talking about before, like okay, I guess we can do. You know life again. But what is life Like? What is our normal? Because it's not the same. It feels different, like so how do I even come out, like, how do I figure out my life now? Because I'm afraid, or I'm scared, I lost things or, you know, I don't have people that I had anymore, you know, or I don't have the job, you know. And so the Me Project it literally the crazy thing. Candice, is kind of like Mind Matters. I wrote this a while ago but I just, for some reason, things kept happening and I couldn't get it published.
Speaker 3:But it's happening now and I was like oh so this is the reason why I couldn't, you know, get it out before, because it's talking to people that are literally at those places I just spoke to to remind them of who they are, to remind them of what's in them, and that they have something called motivated effort. Like it's in you, it doesn't come from anybody else. Nobody else can get you out of your house, nobody else can get you unafraid, you know, to experience life again, go outside your bubble, you know nobody else can do that for you Nobody else can get you through your pain of losing loved ones during this time.
Speaker 3:Nobody can do that, only you. And that's what we're talking about in Motivated Effort, that it all starts with you, and so we hope it's going to be a great project that people just grab hold to and realize that it was what they needed to be able to take that next step, because that's what we're believing for that people are able to take that next step, because that's what we're believing for is that people are going to take that next step in life, and you know my thing and they can do it unapologetically, on purpose. So, hey, I'm ready for you to do it, but I just want you to get to that next step first. So that's what we talked about in the D Project Coming out late spring definitely you know, hope people connect.
Speaker 3:stay connected, because we'll you know we're thinking about doing something new. Pre-launch teams, you know kind of teams that may get the book early and, you know, help with some of the promotions, so they could have some new stuff to do for this particular project.
Speaker 2:Well, I love that. I love that this new book is going to be coming out and I'm excited because I can't wait to read it and I can't wait to help support you with it, because I think it's really important, because we do. We need exactly what you're saying. It has been a rough couple of years for a lot of people and a lot of different scenarios, like you were saying, and we just need to see the light at the end of the tunnel. And when we hear motivational people like yourself that are really talking that way and sharing that with us and teaching us how to, you know, get through that and push ourselves through it, I think it's really important.
Speaker 3:Absolutely, I do as well. You know, kind of like what you have as one of your favorite things. You know nothing is impossible. You know you're possible and so that kind of same frame of mind hey, you're possible to figure out this new life, it's all possible because you're here. So I definitely concur and I am thankful for your support always.
Speaker 2:Oh, my goodness, girl, you okay. So you've got this project that you're doing and you're still working and you're treating yourself. So are you able to? You know, obviously you're taking a lot more time to go through the healing process. Are there ways that you know even our listeners right now? Is there ways that we can connect with you and we can work with you, support you in your projects, anything like that?
Speaker 2:You said with the project or kind of with my everyday life and Lyme disease you know everything we would love to connect with you and collaborate.
Speaker 3:Absolutely so. If you don't mind, one thing you can do for me is that you can take care, and what I mean by that is Lyme disease is a rapidly growing epidemic across the country. Many scientists are beginning to see that epidemic across the country. Many scientists are beginning to see that Just in 2021, the statistics said that it went from 200,000 people a year, getting it meaning new people, and it jumped the next year to 476,000. So it's a rapidly growing disease because people. So it's a rapidly growing disease because people you know, if you think about it, the woods are being taken, you know, as new homes and new buildings, and so animals are moving, and you know animals carry ticks, and so you know they're kind of everywhere that we weren't thinking.
Speaker 3:And so my heart is that you take care, and what I mean by that is be mindful when you go outside, you know, wear protective clothing. You know, especially if you're going to any type of country, you're going to walk through a field or through any type of wooded area. Take care, wear long sleeves if possible, wear long pants. And then also do the next thing for me protect yourself. What I mean by that is there's insect repellent called DEEP D-E-E-P and yeah, my dad is, there's insect repellent called DEEP and yeah, you're like you're going overboard. No, these are the minimal things that you can at least try to do to at least protect you, and so have some deep. And then the third thing for you is to then look when you come back from outside especially those kids even you know your pets. When you come out from outside, check your bodies. You're like 10, you really Like what?
Speaker 3:Yeah, when you've been hiking or on a trail, make sure or your kids, you know you got to go into the country or something, hiking or on a trail, make sure.
Speaker 3:Or your kids, you know you got to go into the country or something. Protect yourselves because, you never know, maybe a tick or multiple birds throughout your body. And I just want you to you know to do those things. Protect yourself, you know, take care. And then, lastly, you know, look after yourself, look around your body and things to make sure you're straight. And if you do that, I'm grateful.
Speaker 3:That's one of the many things I want you to do for yourself and for your family, especially those kiddos. And if you see something, go to the hospital and immediately ask for a course of what's called doxycycline, because there's a small window that this disease goes from curable to uncurable. And if you can try to get the medicine you need within that small window, you have a chance of being cured and not having to go through some of the things that I go through, some of the things that other people, in fact they go through Because, like I said, it hits everybody differently. So do that for me. You guys Go to the hospital differently. So do that for me. You guys go to the hospital, get them to take the tick off and ask for a course with Dr Cycling.
Speaker 3:One more thing, I know because you're like saying you go on the overboard your answer. You know I am, you know, asking. I did kind of a fundraiser called the no Lime, please Message Tee. So I created a message, tee, that when you buy it for $25, that's directly going to the treatments that I have and doctor appointments. None of it is covered by insurance. That's a whole otherher story for another.
Speaker 3:But nothing's got right insurance. So treatments I get like there are three hundred four hundred dollars a pop. Oh, my gosh meds, vitamins, like there's so much that you have to do, you know to try to, you know, maintain some form of living, and so we have kind of got that down pat right now, and so now we're going, you know, out there venturing to some of those alternative treatments to you know, become, get a more livable life.
Speaker 3:So if you want to feel free, so get you a no-line. Please message T, and all you have to do is just message me on Talking with Tanya and we'll take care of that. And then, lastly, there is a campaign called Lime Story Guideboard, and so if you look that up on GoFundMe, you'll see the write-up that my family wrote on me, because they're the ones that started it, kind of without my permission and even knowing.
Speaker 3:But it's truly been a blessing, because people have literally outpoured since I got infected and you know it's amazing, you know, to just think people care that much, but they do, and so Lyme story.
Speaker 2:You're an amazing woman.
Speaker 3:Thank you. So those are just some ways you know to help me. You know, kick Lyme's butt and get into remission.
Speaker 2:Well, I love it and, Tanya, we're going to get I'll get that link from you and we will post it and I'm excited because we will send them some information about the tea so that our listeners can definitely help you and support you in that, because I think it's so important that we're able to do that.
Speaker 2:We've always been a big supporter on our Giving Tuesdays also, and anything that people are requiring. We really want to get our amazing tribe together to support one another. So what we're going to do, too, is, after our call, we'll post this on our Changemakers Cafe. So for all of our listeners that are followers in the Changemakers Cafe, you'll be able to follow Tanya in that too. I love that you are sharing this with us.
Speaker 2:It's not a conversation that a lot of people are comfortable with talking about, and I think it's really important you become a really big advocate about Lyme disease and the more information we can get out there to people so that we can protect them, I think the better the more information we can get out there to people so that we can protect them.
Speaker 3:I think the better. Yeah, that's my heart. You know, as I've kind of gotten, I do my unapologetic purpose. I'm unapologetic about Lyme disease because you know as many people that can. You know. Lend a voice, lend a hand, that's how we are able to really have positive change oh girl, I couldn't agree with you more.
Speaker 2:I love this and we want to be a part of the Me Project. So if there's anything that you need us to support you with that, the Divas at Care is behind you in that, in all your efforts to make the world a better place. We just love everything that you're doing. Tanya.
Speaker 3:Thank you so much and you know I love everything you guys are doing, you know, with not just the girls but the women that have just come together and garnered around the vision that Divas that Care have and said I want to be a part and I want to connect, like you had the heart to do something amazing and now you're spreading that. You know that possibility. You know because I don't even think you guys know how big of a thing that you're doing and how it affects other people to want to stand up in their communities and try to, you know, help girls and help women and, just, you know, do their part, like you guys are making echoing throughout generations. You guys are affecting multiple generations and that is truly amazing, candace. So thank you for all that. You guys are affecting multiple generations and that is truly amazing, candice. So thank you for all that, you guys are doing.
Speaker 2:Oh gosh, Tanya, thank you so much. I'm always grateful when I I always call my soul sisters, people that really connect with you, that understand what you want to do in this world, and I really appreciate what you just said. The last thing I want to ask you, Tanya, is do you have any? I know that you had mentioned about Lyme disease, but is there any other last-minute tips, maybe tools, that you can inspire our listeners with today?
Speaker 3:Yeah, definitely. You know, as you're figuring out this new normal, don't be afraid to try anything and new things. You know you may have always did life a certain way, but now you may have gotten laid off or, unfortunately, you've had your spouse, you know, pass away. Now it's your opportunity to figure out a new life and you shouldn't be afraid to try out a new way of living it. You know there's possibilities just out there waiting for you.
Speaker 3:There's organizations like Deepest Care that are looking for you to connect and support Like there's so much for you. There's organizations like Deepest at Care that are looking for you to connect and support, like there's so much for you to do. And I'm not wanting to put pressure on you. I just want you to not be afraid, not be afraid to live life, not be afraid to try again, not be afraid to do a new thing. And so that is my number one advice and tip from the Me Project. Because that thing that's behind you, that's going to get you to go in and try that new thing, is that motivated effort in you, and so I'm believing that it's going to help push you and get you out there experiencing the new life and the new way of doing life. That's waiting on you. You guys partnering and connecting with me on the LEAD Project with you know, the LINE Story, god Glory Project, the no Lines Please all of that.
Speaker 3:You guys are a tremendous organization that always puts others first, and so I believe sincerely and wholeheartedly that, because that's your heart, that there's going to be opportunities that come your way, that are going to literally especially this year grow you and not just grow you in a way that, oh okay, we're going to get new listeners.
Speaker 3:No, it's going to grow you to where you're going to have to, you know, maybe even come up with a new segment or begin to think of a new program for the girls or begin to think of opening chapters across the country.
Speaker 3:But I feel there's going to be some exponential growth this year and I just believe you guys are ready for it, because you guys have been serving so many people throughout the world and your heart is always to be there and give support first. So I'm believing for awesome and great things for the organization and even for you too, my soul sister, that it's just going to be an amazing year, that you know it may be some things and areas you pivot in, but that pivot is going to be a good thing and it's going to show you amazing opportunities that you yourself didn't think anybody knew of or that they thought that you would be right for, but you're going to come into opportunities and positions that they're going to be looking for you and they're going to be asking specifically for you because you have that thing. So I'm just believing, I'm praying, I'm excited, all of that because I believe this is you guys here and I can't wait to hear the story.
Speaker 2:Oh, my goodness, I love it. Girl, you are amazing and always inspiring. It has been my pleasure to have you on today's program. I know that you are busy. You have so much going on and I thank you so much for coming on the show today, and I'm excited and. I want to have you back on the program when your book releases.
Speaker 3:Absolutely, absolutely. You know I take things, you know, a little slow these days. I got to work it out, but you know.
Speaker 1:I definitely.
Speaker 3:You know, like you said, we're soul sisters. We've been that way, so I would love the opportunity to come back and be able to share that the Me Project is out and, hey, maybe let's collaborate even more. So I'm excited and I'm grateful.
Speaker 2:We will definitely do some stuff together. I am beyond grateful for you to come on today. So thank you so much, tanya, for being my amazing guest. As always, you always inspire me. I'm so happy to have you on and I want to thank all of our amazing listeners.
Speaker 2:I want to have you. I'm going to ask you to check out all the stuff that Tanya is doing. I'm going to be posting on our social media. Make sure you like it, you share and you comment on it. Also, guys, forward it on to all your friends and family. I think that's the most important thing. We want to get awareness out there. We've talked about Lyme disease today. We want to make sure that we get that information to the people that really need it. It's always a pleasure, tanya, we're going to have you back on again soon For our listeners make sure you do something kind today.
Speaker 2:We need more kindness in this world and that's what we do is we pay it forward. So make sure you guys do that. Until next time, everyone take care.
Speaker 1:Thanks for listening. This show was brought to you by Divas that Care. Connect with us on Facebook, on Instagram and, of course, on divasthatcarecom, where you can subscribe to our newsletter so you don't miss a thing.
