It is so darn funny the connections of growing up Black how almost everything points back to Hoodoo. We ain’t as lost as they say. Just gotta open our minds and third eye. Thanksgiving is next week so let me also talk about your belly buttons. I love when my segments come together like a nice dish!

Speaker 1:

M-O-W-M-A-Q-D-W-E-D-W-E, that's my name, mama Q. M-o-w-m-a-q-d-w-e-d-w-e, that's my name. Mama Q, say it faster or slow, don't really matter, though the U-E gets a minute. Tongue tizzy yo, hey, kinda dizzy bro. Who is she? Mama Q? Mama gave birth little waste, no girth, 60 years ago. No, I don't want. Mo Q is a line and I tried to align this double end. Tundra petty, haha, it's one of my modules. Mama Q, I'm the first one in and the first one out. Memphis Tend to Key is my whereabouts. Don't complain. Man saying stick it to one topic. I reply your mind is very myopic with Mama Q. You need better optist picking and choosing to copy me. Are you inspired? Definitely. No need to whisper gracefully. I like it better off key. Now let's see. Do you remember me? M-o-w-m-a-q-d-w-e-d-w-e, that's my name, mama Q. Hey, hi, it's me, mama Q. I welcome you to Moments in Q. In Q Today, hawaii Black Business Hudu, hudu. And are you kinky or not? Hi, I'm Hudu. Happy Native American Heritage Month, which you know. In 1990, president Bush designated November as National American Indian Heritage Month. Ironically, next week is Thanksgiving. History website said in 1621, the Plymouth colonies and the way of punk hopefully I pronounced that right shared an autumn harvest feast, but that's like saying Columbus discovered America in 1492,. The Smithsonian magazine talks about the real Thanksgiving. It's a day of mourning for the Winnipegs people. Christians use it as a day to be thankful for all that God slash Jesus did for them thus far this year, and my house is the day we eat, give thanks and officially start celebrating Christmas with putting up the Christmas tree. Amy is excited. She's been playing her Christmas music ever since November 1st. In this episode I too will talk about the seasonings that Hudu can provide for you. Kitchen witches.

Speaker 1:

Continuing with the belly, I will have part two of the Naval Bundy Kink and talk about Cocoa Rosé shaking her body in Black Business. Bon appetit, black Business. I highlight a Black Business to bring awareness and my experience with said business. Unless, I say it, it isn't a paid ad. I'm open to paid ads, but I definitely want to highlight Black Businesses. There's enough money for all of us to get it.

Speaker 1:

As you may or may not know, when I finish each section, I always listen to it and I feel pretty flippin' bad about mispronouncing the word. So it's pronounced wampanoaks at least that's what it seems like it was when I googled. So again, I apologize. The Native American people name, according to this, was wampanoaks. Sorry about that. Okay. So now we're going to talk about Cocoa Rosé.

Speaker 1:

I met her some years ago at Nerd Night in Memphis, tennessee. Her IG says she has SAS Class and Cleavage, the unicorn of Burlesque. International Showgirl Glitter Goddess Productions and Queer. Glitter Goddess Productions strive to bring diversity and accessibility to Burlesque. At Nerd Night many years ago, she introduced me and other attendees to the world of Burlesque. During the Nerd Night she spoke about being a baker. That perked my eyes and ears At the time. Many of me was into baking so I thought that was cool to follow a baker and a burlesque dancer. At Drew's, which is a local gay bar, I saw Cocoa perform for the first time. She did an amazing job. I love the confidence she exudes when she's on stage and asking for the tips via cash, cash out, paypal and Venmo. Like she worked hard for the money Where'd them dollars at? And what really surprised me during that show was that the male Burlesque dancers they covered their nipples too. I had never seen men burlesque dance, nor was I under the impression that they would cover their nipples, so to me, them covering. It was true allyship. Cocoa knows how to put on a show and produce it, which is duh, because she's been doing this for seven years. So if you're ever in ATL, shawty or other cities where she's performing, please check her out. She's so pasty and her info will be in the show notes.

Speaker 1:

Hulu, hulu I get to the root of Hulu, conjure up thoughts that pop into my mind about spirituality. Come on, get this work. I don't fuck with them chickens, unless their last name is Cuddleit. Let it soak in like seasoning. That's from Nicki Minaj. And speaking of seasoning and Thanksgiving, my boo thing, love of my Mike Foxtrot life talked about my spiritual bath concoction I made for us a while ago was like seasoning for the body.

Speaker 1:

So I'm going to talk a bit more about spiritual baths Now. I'm pretty confident that I had talked about the spiritual bath that him and I took on TikTok. I'm not for sure, which is why I shouldn't be doing that, but anyway, I talked about it. On TikTok, I don't think I talked about it in my podcast and, to double check, I did put in the world spiritual and bath and I didn't see it in my show notes, but that means nothing because sometimes I go off script. So anyway, as you know, I've mentioned spiritual baths tons of times on my episodes and probably talked about it a bit with other black businesses, but I have not done it in depth, so you're going to get a double whammy. I'm going to talk a little bit more about spiritual bath and how it ties into kitchen witchery. So spiritual baths here's a refresher. You can make a spiritual bath for down there, anything you can make it for protection, money and love, to name a few.

Speaker 1:

Within Christianity, baptism is the act of washing away one sins and renewal, and a song, a gospel song, that comes to mind is Kirk Franklin and family, for all my sins are washed away. Washed away. Look y'all, I can't sing, I can barely rap. So this is what you're going to get. But for Psalm in the Bible, 51, 7 mentioned, cleanse me with his up and I will be clean. So to me it sounds like a spiritual bath. You know what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

I always talk about Christians and Christianity. No surprise. But as I've always said, I will continue to say, we are doing similar things and there's just something refreshing and anointing and spiritual about when it comes to having water washed on you, whether again back to baptism, or like taking a shower or a bath from having a long day. Again, there's just something just electrifying and refreshing about cleansing your body. So why would it be so quote unquote demonic to talk about having a spiritual bath or wanting to take one? Because, again, when you get baptized, if you're a Christian because that's all I know you get dunked in the water, whether it's the tub water at the church or if you go to a lake or whatnot.

Speaker 1:

And then in the Bible, like I just said, they were talking about herbs. So how is this demonic? Anyway, for me, when it comes to choosing herbs for a spiritual bath, I trust my spirit. I'll either get a download or a thought in my head from either my higher self or my ancestors. I always know the difference between and you know, because I'm hard headed and I like to double check my spiritual messages. I also use this book called Connie Ham's Encyclopedia and magical herbs by Scott Cunningham to decipher the messages. So inside this encyclopedia, the book tells the nickname of the herbs, their usage, such as if it's used for exorcism, health, wealth, love, etc. And from there I take my herbs and put them either in my muslin bag to steep from hot water, or I use my tea and fuser. So now I fuck up my tub. When I learned about this tea and fuser, this one is a extra large one. So I really really like that one.

Speaker 1:

Because my first time when I took a spiritual bath, y'all, I kind of missed up my tub. I didn't like over, I didn't flood it or make a clog or anything like that. But when I first did it, y'all, I had all little bits and stuff like that from the different herbs in my tub and it looked kind of weird or whatever and it got on my nerves so that. So when I learned I was on some website and when I learned about the purpose of this extra large tin fuser, I was like ah Bam, that does it. And then recently I decided to use a muslin bag Hopefully, again, I'm pronouncing that word correctly, it's muslin. So I've done both ways and for me it's been pretty easy.

Speaker 1:

Again, I put all of my herbs. Of course I have to double check and make sure that there's nothing wrong with it when it comes to me Utilizing it on my skin. So I'll get a pot of hot water, let it steep in there and then, when it's done steeping, pour it into a glass container and then I'll just do the spiritual bath myself or, like I said, I'll do the muslin bag, which is what I did for the last one. That I did my boo thing and I I Really like the usage of that is because I can reuse it again if I want to. So it's like a tea bag and Pour hot water on it, squeeze all the herbs out and bam, there you go. So you can use either way that you want to.

Speaker 1:

Some people will even take their spiritual baths outside. Now I've seen people do that, but I don't know if they did that because they were showing a video on YouTube and they just wanted to make sure that they don't get flagged. I'm not for sure. There's a lot of people said the Spiritual bath needs to be cold, needs to be hot, all these different things. Again, I just go about with the ancestors and or my higher self says and so it's been working for me, so it's all good. Just always remember whatever works for you works for you.

Speaker 1:

So one thing that I do encourage you to do is, when it comes to you using a spiritual bath, taking one, especially if you concoct it yourself, is to always ensure that you have protection. Sometimes I use salt and yes, I know the salt isn't a herb, but again, I mean, there are properties within salt that is used for protection. So, no matter what it is like, even if you're doing a protection for Prosperity or your business, because, like duh, you want to protect it, because you want to protect your money, to ensure nobody is stealing from you, and also protect your thoughts when it comes to your business and protect yourself From people throwing at you, whether it's spiritual or just human beings throwing, using Spells themselves or using the power of the tongue. Get your mind out the gutter. But we already know through growing up a set, especially if you're a southern, especially if you're a black southern there's power in the words. So you know you always want to have protection.

Speaker 1:

Some people pray over their herbs and or tell their herbs with what it's gonna do, which I know that that might seem like double work because, for example, if you use Whatever, we'll keep with salt. So you know salt already have protective properties. That's what other people use it for. That is its purpose. But me, I have no problem with repeating. You know because, as you're gonna learn, if you haven't already, that you can also cook with some of these herbs. So, you know, I for one don't mind repeating for it to know what I wanted to do, because I feel like that is me Manifesting and claiming and putting it out in the universe, or what have you, what I wanted to do. So, yeah, and another thing if you didn't grow it from your own garden, you also don't know what other hands and things have been on it. So, again, I see nothing wrong with praying, smudging over it, breathing on it, pouring water briefly on it, just any way to kind of cleanse it and to remind it what you needed, for I know of people who use different Bible verses where there is in some, or proverbs or whatnot. Again, I rarely use the Bible, if ever, on any work, is that I do for myself. So you know, if it works for you, works for you, as I always say.

Speaker 1:

Another thing I do is I bathe my body first, which is a no-brainer. So I have you take your shower, your bath or whatnot. I normally do this with a shower. When I take my spiritual bath I know it's like you just say a spiritual bath I just roll with me, okay. So I shower up my body, obviously, clean myself, and you should know how to bathe yourself, okay, and then from there, what I do is I either Put the spiritual bath upwards or downwards, depending on what I need it for. I go. The neck is the highest that I will go.

Speaker 1:

There are some people who do take the spiritual bath and put it on their face and put it in their hair, depending on what kind of properties is with it. Again, as always, when it comes to using any of these kind of herbs, double check to make sure you're not allergic to it and also make sure that it's okay to be used in your skin and your hair. And, of course, you want to avoid using it. And if you have a vulva or a penis, or we all have anus, but if you have a vulva, especially if you have that you want to be careful make sure not to put any of the herbs in there. I definitely don't. When I wash myself, I use straight up water anyway to clean her. So, yeah, I don't have a penis, so I don't know how that works, but I would encourage you to be careful and not put it in there. I'm definitely not putting your anus at all, please don't. So I know it's getting a little graphic, but hey, gotta put that stuff in there for people.

Speaker 1:

Anyway, after you've already taken your shower, like I said, you've already done your spiritual bath, whether you put it on you in upwards motion or downward motions the next thing you do is you get out the tub and you air dry. That's what I do. Other people might pat their self with the towel or they might put on white clothing again, whatever works for them, whatever spirit tells you to do, or other people who you trust to tell you what to do. That's cool. Some also pray, again me, like I said, I air dry and I wait for results. There are other people who make this a more in-depth ritual than a quickie, like what I just did, where they're like candles associated with the spiritual bath. So, again, if it's something about prosperity, someone might light a green candle for it and have crystals around them. But you have to be careful because some crystals cannot take water and if you are clumsy, you definitely do not want your crystals to be in the water. So I advise you not to have them anywhere near water if they're not supposed to be.

Speaker 1:

Again, as I continue to say, and I always say, whatever works for you, I really don't do that much of that extra stuff and I don't mean extra in a disrespectful way, I'm just saying like I don't do. The extra stuff is like having candles and stuff like that to set the mood or the intentions, but there's nothing wrong with it if that's what you decide to do. So what does all this seasoning, as my boothy like to say, has to do with the kitchen? Well, if you haven't guessed it and I said it earlier but some of the herbs I use are also used to season the food that we cook. Okay, so remember, I know again, I'm black, I always been black and a Southerner. So I'm pretty sure if you're African and part of the diaspora, especially if you have Christianity within your family, all of this is gonna make sense, what I'm about to talk about, and it's gonna make you be like ta-da, anyway, okay.

Speaker 1:

So remember, when you would pray for your food, especially during Thanksgiving, you would always pray for the cook too, right? Well, you know they'll say something like bless the meal and the preparer so that it can be nourished into our bodies, something like that. To me that sounds like manifestation, slash, spell, because you know, when you cook with love, it oozes into the meal, that's, your energy and your intent into the meal, for all that we'll consume it, and when the herbs and the food hit right, your body gets that odyssey. You feel fulfilled versus being slumped over the toilet from food poisoning. Stay with me. Stay with me. So you know us black folks. When we season our food, we keep going to what the ancestors say stops, why you think that Everything we eat and add to the meal has a meaning to our spiritual and earthly bodies.

Speaker 1:

For example, basil can be used for different spell workings on baths, spiritual bath, like I said. You can use it on candles and you can use it in jars. It also pairs well with tomato dishes such as pizza or red pasta sauce dishes. This is where kitchen witchery comes in. You can make the food for your family, your friends and yourself to pray for happiness, peace and protection Cause, if you haven't realized it yet, that's some of the things that basil is used for. So bam, two birds with one stone. This makes my mind goes in so many places, right.

Speaker 1:

I remember growing up and I was told not to disturb my grandma while she was in the kitchen or waiting with excitement to be old enough to learn how to cook. I pretty bummed out that the woman that gave birth to me never allowed my granny to teach me how to cook, and so I'm thankful that granny is alive and I can reach out to her to learn how to make dressing, but it just never hits right as good as her corn bridges, in which I hope granny is in the mood to cook for Thanksgiving, cause I wanna go over there and eat some of her food, cause I can't cook like her, and so so, like it's just again, most of the people who are in the kitchen are usually women. Girls would not, but I do encourage everybody, regardless of your gender. If you identify as a binary, per well, yeah, if you identify as non-binary or not, I encourage you to learn how to cook, cause that's something that all people need to do. But again, I'm just thinking and talking about growing up and then going further down a rabbit hole in my mind. I'm thinking about me and Farron having hot grits being thrown at them for their last ovations lascivious I'm sorry, lascivious desires, and it's always being careful of eating the woman's spaghetti. So I don't know it's pretty cool that, again, without thinking that some of us black folks we do who do with or without Christianity, and you don't even know it or acknowledge it out loud. I'm all grown up. Are you kinky or not? I'm a proud kingster of the BDSM community. Let me tell you about this lifestyle to see if you want to come over to the dark side. We got candles, alright. So this is part two of talking about belly buns, which this is going together because this is the one before Thanksgiving, because when I taught y'all again, thanksgiving would have already passed and you should have already thrown away your food. Some loving how this stuff is just meshin' well together, alright, so let's talk about belly buns.

Speaker 1:

As you know, some cultures adore showing off their belly buns from belly dancing, having tattoos around their belly buns and piercings where there's together a separate. Lots of people find the belly bun sexy when it's adorned and or surrounded by abs and curves, but everyone has com gutters or washboard abs. For you folks this older, like me, your belly bun is still sexy, though Most of us have any belly buns versus outies. Other people adore their belly and belly bun. Schools and certain establishments ban the showing of the mid-drift, which is weird because back in the 1970s, I think, people went to school showing off their stomach with low rising genes, madonna said in 1985, interview according to Vice Media. I quote my favorite bun is my belly bun. I have the most perfect belly button. When I stick my finger in my belly button I feel a nerve in the center of my body shoot up my spine.

Speaker 1:

Madonna was into belly bun and that was like almost 40 years ago, so clearly this kink has been around. In this episode I said my interest was peaked about belly buns and so let's poke around to learn more about this kink. Alvinophilia Alvinophilia is another name for this fetish and, as you expected, there is a BDSM kink play for that. Most of my research about this type of play was done on the internet. I don't have anyone in my circle, to my knowledge anyway, that is into naval play.

Speaker 1:

All right, we always got to start off with safety. So here we go. Safety wise, like any other play, receiving consent with other consenting adults is always necessary, vital, important the first thing you need to do before you play. After that you negotiate with what you can or can do with the belly button and have your safe words. You also need to see if the person or persons because, who knows, a lot of people like to get down like that if they're allergic to anything.

Speaker 1:

People can put candle wax on or in their belly button. I implore you to test the hot wax on yourself before pouring into others. Literally, the higher the wax is away from the skin the better, and you need to ensure that the candle wax is safe for your body. You don't want to go to your local store that says sells candles and just use that one because that could have a higher temperature burn rate. I think that's what I'm trying to say. And next thing, you know, navel Place sent me to the ER. We don't want that. All right.

Speaker 1:

Now, when it comes to playing, you can also use feathers, ice, electric wands, e-stemilars I think that's what those are called. Those are like it was not the same as electric wands, but it's. Some people actually use this e-stem for, like when they are exercising or if they need, like, a massage or whatnot. I don't know, I don't use it. I don't like that type of play, but those that know what I'm talking about you know what I'm talking about. You can also use the one-burg wheel, massage oil, et cetera, to play.

Speaker 1:

Please, y'all, don't insert anything into the belly button, such as a penis, a dildo or a vibrator, because that could cause pain to your bottom and I don't mean your bottom like your butt, but like the person who has the belly button that you're playing with and I don't want you to cause pain to them. I mean, I would hope, as I've always said before, that you don't want to cause pain. Always ensure that you clean your belly button before and after play. And what I learned is that Vice Media has a great article about it and I didn't want to quote, unquote, commit plagiarism and go verbatim about everything that they had. But Google belly button in Vice Media and you can learn more about belly button if you desire.

Speaker 1:

And I want to let you know that if this is a kink that you are interested in, you are not alone. Okay, do a hashtag belly button kink and I'm sure you'll find your brethren, sister in and everything in between. And if you want to, let me know how it feels to you and your partners. I really, really, really enjoyed using my robotic voice that I had to use when I did the listener email a couple of weeks ago. So now y'all got me addicted to always wanting to play that. So, yeah, let me know I I've talked long enough. Cue out.
