The Gospel of John: A Love That Disrupts
Use Left/Right to seek, Home/End to jump to start or end. Hold shift to jump forward or backward.
In this episode of the Abide Podcast, Gretchen reflects on the dramatic moment in Gospel of John 2:13–25 when Jesus enters the temple during Passover and overturns the tables of the money changers. What appears at first to be anger is actually a powerful expression of His love—zeal for His Father’s house and a desire to restore true worship.
Together we explore what this moment reveals about the heart of Jesus and how His love sometimes confronts and cleanses what stands between us and God. As you listen, consider a few questions for your own heart: Has anything crowded out space for God in my life? Has worship become routine rather than relational? Are there “tables” Jesus may be gently overturning in me today?
This is the kind of love that refuses to leave us unchanged—a love that clears away what blocks our relationship with the Father and truly changes everything.
