Speaker 1

Hey , welcome to Doing Life with Ken and Tabitha . We are so pumped that you're tuning into this podcast . It has been designed for people just like you . We wanna do life with you , share our wins , our defeats , our ups and our downs , in hopes that you'll grow closer to God and to the people that you love in your life . Sit back and enjoy today's podcast . Hey , hey , hey , what's up everybody ?

Speaker 1

Ken and Tabitha here , hey everyone , everybody , Ken and Tabitha here . We are so pumped for our topic today . This is going to be like a much needed , much shared topic and let's just call this a conversation amongst family .

Speaker 1

We love doing life with you guys . That's why we call this podcast Doing Life with Ken and Tabitha , and our goal is so simple it's to help you grow closer to God , but also closer to the relationships and the people that God has placed in your life , and our podcast is first and foremost , a marriage podcast and a relationship podcast . But this is what we know that when you get better , the marriage will get better . That's right . So we want to get better , and so sometimes we talk about spiritual things , we talk about parenting , we talk about finances . Today we're going to talk about politics .

Speaker 1

We'll talk about politics do's and don'ts . And we know that this can be touchy , but we've never kind of swayed away from touchy things . We want to bring God's perspective into this election year . How do you feel about what we're going to share today ? Are you excited ?

Speaker 2

I am excited about it . Yeah , I don't know why , but I think it's something that needs to be spoken , and I think that a lot of people , a lot of believers , don't know how to talk about politics without being offensive , without being offended you know all of that and it's like what's the biblical perspective ?

Speaker 1

Well , here's the deal . There's a couple of things that people say don't talk about . One would be race , others would be religion and others would be politics and we talk about them all on this podcast . Praise God , because I am the kind of person that I know that I'm not right about everything , but I'm a life learner . I want to hear different perspectives . I don't like being narrow , I don't like just watching CNN or watching Fox . I want to watch Fox and I want to watch CNN . I want to hear what people say that I agree with , and I want to hear the other perspective as well .

Speaker 1

Then I want to go take it to God and say God , help me , just know how you want me to see things . So I'm always fighting for a biblical worldview . This one hit close to home for us because we have a college-age daughter and this summer she just had a lot of questions for us .

Speaker 2

She gets to vote for the , of course , this summer she gets to vote for the very first time in this election .

Speaker 1

And then we had the assassination attempt , and then we had this , you know , this change of who would be president and different things like that , and our home was filled with hours and hours of conversation , and so it has always been our heart to use this platform to bring a kingdom perspective , and so we've actually titled this how to Vote Christian 2024 , because Christianity is our worldview . We look at the world through a biblical lens , through a kingdom of God lens , and even if you're not a believer , hopefully you can just honor that . We understand that your perspective , if you're not a follower of Jesus , would be different than ours , and we honor that , we respect that , and we can also say we don't agree , but we can still love each other .

Speaker 1

But , I think it's going to be really good for people to hear Now , we're not going to tell you who to vote for . We don't feel like that's our job to do . We're not here to tell you who to vote for , but we are here to lay out some principles and things to consider . So if your heart is open , like our college-age daughter and like many of you all who are , who have been given so much information by the media and you're just trying to figure out what's the right thing to do , I would say just listen with a heart that's open , and the Holy Spirit in the end will help you .

Speaker 2

Absolutely .

Speaker 1

And so I say that because we were talking about this topic and you said something that I thought was interesting that in your history of living you've never sat down with a family member , a friend , that has a different political view than you , and an argument won them to your side .

Speaker 2

Never .

Speaker 1

I think that people think because you feel that you're so right if you sit down with somebody and tell them why you're right and they're wrong , that you're going to win them . We've never seen that work . Can you talk about that real quick ?

Speaker 2

Yeah , I think that I mean and I said that to say because we , you know we're so , I don't know polarized . It's like this is my way , this is how I see it , and if you don't see it like that , then there's something wrong with you and that's really not the case . So the people that I've sat down with , these are loved ones , these are family members , these are people , friends , people that I care for . These are also believers , and we have two different points of view when it comes to voting , and so I've never won the argument , I've never brought them over to my side . But here's what I have seen .

Speaker 2

I have seen people , including myself , who voted a certain way , had a certain political point of view , but after a major life experience , for me it was becoming born again and learning the Bible and learning biblical perspectives on life and politics . For some people it's getting married . For some people it's getting married . For some people it's having children . For some people it's a major sickness or a major , you know , like a disease that may just cause you to kind of look at things differently yeah .

Speaker 2

Sometimes it's you start a business or enter a new career and it causes you to look at the world differently . Those types of experiences I've seen people change one perspective to another .

Speaker 1

Basically , they change their political affiliation yes , yes , and so cool so you know .

Speaker 2

So I think that's why I was excited for this podcast in particular , because we don't want to say vote this way , vote for this person . We want to say here's a perspective , here's the biblical you know , a biblical point of view , and we want to speak to your mindset , we want to speak to your beliefs and your values , you know , and I think those are the things that will cause you to vote in a biblical way .

Speaker 1

Here's the deal . We have no skin in the game . Nobody's paying me anything . We are both registered independents and we want to be independent thinkers so that we can follow the Holy Spirit . So we're not here to say what's right and what's wrong , but we are here together to try to find Jesus and all of it . That's at least how we live our life . Why do you think politics is so polarizing ?

Speaker 2

Politics . I think it has a lot to do with , you know , our morals . Yeah , it has a lot to do with it directly involves our family , our way of living our lives .

Speaker 1

I don't know of another thing where people will fight over , like literally , and that's why they can be quick to demonize another person because their worldview feels like things should be ran this way and another worldview says things should be ran this way , and those things are important . Like who is the leader of the nation is important . Their worldview of different policies that's important . Like who is the leader of the nation is important . Their worldview of , of of of different policies that's important . But it can't be so important to us that we make it more important than loving Jesus .

Speaker 1

And so my concern is that people can become so democratic or Republic that they're more that than they are a Christian . That's a problem for believers that they can become so polarizing and demonizing to the people who are on the other side of the aisle that they forget to keep Jesus the main thing , meaning that as a believer , we're to be bridge builders and barrier breakers . It doesn't mean that you have to be quiet with your political party Now that there are some people who will take a mid-road and there's some people that will take a quiet approach . Then there's other people that will be more loud about who they decide to vote for , and neither is wrong , but I think it's wrong when we lift up something that can be divisive and not even wrong .

Speaker 1

Let's just say we have to be very careful .

Speaker 2

Be careful , be very careful . We don't create idols out of any . You can create an idol . Don't create idols out of any . You can create an idol out of your favorite basketball team . You know you can create an idol out of anything , but I think that we can . We have to be careful , as believers , that we don't idolize the donkey or the elephant and that we idolize the lamb . Yes , yeah , the , the lion and the lamb . Let's worship the proper thing here .

Speaker 1

Because politics , it can be a tool in the hands of the enemy . It can be , if we're not careful , that cause division , dissension , confusion , bitterness , hatred , violence , anger , fault finding , criticism , judgment . All of those are going to be like works of the flesh and out of the demonic camp . And one of the enemy's greatest tools to cause those things to happen is politics . So , yes , it's going to be important for us to vote . Yes , it's important who's going to be our leader . Yes , it's important who's going to be our leader . Yes , it's important which way the nation is coming , but Jesus and his kingdom is more important than that . So , so like I look at us is that we have very strong political viewpoints , but that doesn't mean that we're going to be loud about all of them , because if we get loud about certain things , there's a certain audience that now cuts us off from the greater message for us , which is that Jesus is the way , the truth and the life . Therefore , we have to be wise Now .

Speaker 1

Everybody doesn't have the platform that we have but I think it's important that a believer realizes that , first and foremost , I'm gonna be light , and where there's division , I'm gonna bring unity . Where there's confusion , I'm gonna bring clarity . Where there's confusion , I'm going to bring clarity . Where there's budding of heads , I'm going to be the bridge builder and the barrier breaker and from that context I believe that we can build something that would be God honoring .

Speaker 2

I think so . I think a lot of people probably have been in our position and I'll speak to myself like even as a believer . So now I'm a pastor . I travel to , you know , different churches , just different events and things like that . Preaching the good news of Jesus Christ , preaching the gospel , that God is a healer , you know , seeing healings manifest , seeing marriages come together , preaching to men , women , children , like all of those things .

Speaker 1

And what we found is that God is healing Democrats , republicans and everybody in between . They're getting saved , people are getting delivered , demons are being cast out of Democrats or Republicans . How dare we come up with something else that would then stop and prohibit what God's doing ?

Speaker 2

Something that would divide the body .

Speaker 1

I'm sorry , I took that out of your mouth because I saw where you were going , but that's what it was .

Speaker 2

So that's my main objective to preach the gospel of the kingdom . While I preach the gospel , you'll get in line . You'll fall in line .

Speaker 1

You will pull out the biblical principles . You will know which way to go as you learn Bible principles .

Speaker 2

But here's this as well . If I went up on my platform as Pastor Tabitha to preach the good news of the kingdom with a blue hat and shirt on or with a red hat and shirt on , I would be preaching the gospel of blue or the gospel of red and not the gospel of the kingdom . That's me . Because some people would look at it and be like I can't believe she is wearing that . I can't believe she would think they would never receive healing , they would never receive Jesus . Because I preached something else first .

Speaker 1

And that's not even a diss to our friends and other pastors .

Speaker 2

Some people are called to do it .

Speaker 1

Their call is to God bless you Um kind of brought politics to God bless you Um kind of brought politics , and they give you a very um prophetic and I love Bible prophecy worldview concerning politics . Um , this is not a slight towards them . You do whatever you feel called to do , but for us , we understand that just what you said , I'm going to lose part of my audience , and for us it's always been like let's keep the main thing , the main thing .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I kind of forgot what I was going to say Well , what I was saying is me like . My goal is to win people to Jesus . Right , I can't preach politics and win people to Jesus Right Now . Here's the thing as well .

Speaker 1

Oh , I know what I was going to say .

Speaker 2

Go ahead . I was going to say so , yes , now I'm a pastor . But even before I became a pastor I became born again and I learned biblical points of view . But then I tried to go and preach that to my family and friends and stuff . They didn't care about my biblical points of views or whatever . They wanted to vote , how they wanted to vote , and we just didn't see eye to eye . I became angry , I became judgmental . They didn't like me and I didn't like them . Angry , I became judgmental , they didn't like me and I didn't like them . And God had to really show me personally like , okay , you can love people who disagree with you . You can love people who disagree with you . It's like are we being Christians as a believer ? Are you being a Christian in your voting or in your views of other people , because Jesus told us to love your enemy ? Are we loving the people who vote differently than us ? Are we name calling ?

Speaker 1

Let me say what I was going to say before I forget it . I've been holding on just waiting for me to jump in . I have heard people say well , there's just too many Republicans go to this church , or there's just too many Democrats go to this church , or there's just too many Democrats go to this church . I'm talking about born again people that are upset that there's not more people that is of their political persuasion . That's probably how they carry themselves . Their socioeconomic status assumptions , judgments things like that .

Speaker 2

Yeah , that's a judgment .

Speaker 1

But that's out there . There are some people that believe that if you are Christian , you vote this way , and I understand from a biblical worldview . I do base a lot of my voting on morality .

Speaker 1

That's at the highest level . So I get it , but please don't make politics a religion . And so what we're saying is that there is a way that we can cohabitate , that if you're in a small group and you find out that your small group leader votes differently than you , you should not look at them any less . You should still be able to receive the good word of god that they are preaching without viewing judging them in their family . If you are a republican and you go to a church that's majority in the blue , you should still be able to get the good word of God there . Vice versa , if you are a Democrat that goes to a place where you're , like man , I'm surrounded by many conservatives . Listen , let's separate for just a moment what you're receiving from Jesus versus your political party , and I just feel like we've put too much emphasis there .

Speaker 1

But I wanna move on . I wanna move on because I've broken this down into two subject matters that I want to speak about today . Y'all stick with me . Make sure you got to share this one . This one has to be shared . Ok , we need this . This is an election year , an election season . We've got about a month and a little bit to go here . Let's get it going . Here's some perspective Two things Things to consider when voting Christian OK , and how to vote Christian in 2024 and beyond . I've broken it up into those two things . Here's some things that we want you to consider . If you're ready , say I'm ready , put it in the comments if you're online .

Speaker 3

I'm ready . I want you to consider that voting is important .

Speaker 1

I believe that there are some people who feels like , well , I'm not going to vote because they know they should , but they might not if it's raining that day , because they're like does my vote really count ?

Speaker 1

I've had these conversations . Does it really matter in the end of things ? I mean , who's going to win is going to win . My vote really doesn't matter . With the Electoral College and all of the things that are going on , and I would say every vote matters . Now , the last couple of elections they've not been landslides here . Now we're talking about something that's pretty narrow and I just feel like us voting is our God-given privilege in this nation and we should honor that in every single person . Now I know we got a lot of audience from different nations , but here in America we get the vote . We should take advantage of that , would you agree ?

Speaker 2

I agree totally 18 , 19 , 20 , 21 . You need to be voting . You need to be voting .

Speaker 1

All right , this is my perspective on voting . There are people who died so that we all could have a freedom to vote , as a minority . For many years we wasn't . We wasn't allowed to vote , even as a woman to vote , even as a woman wasn't allowed to vote . The fact that we live in a free country where we get to participate in a democratic process , I think sometimes we take it for granted .

Speaker 1

Now , for me , democracy is the best form of government . Well , no , let me take that back . Theocracy is the best form of government . God's on top and we do things God's way , but , naturally speaking , under that democracy . I mean it's better than a dictatorship , it's better than communism , it's better than all those other things . Right . But here's the deal . It's not perfect . It's not perfect . So we have what we call checks and balances , and when the checks and balances are working pretty good , we come out with a result , and that result is in office four years , maybe at the max of eight years , and so you know . But because we have the ability to use our God-given freedom and affect that , there's no way we should sit on the couch and take what other people would have died for and been put in jail and prison for .

Speaker 1

I just can't do it . I'm talking about people like well , I just don't know who to vote for . It just seems like , yeah , sometimes you vote to block someone , sometimes you vote to block someone . It's not like you might not even be excited about either candidate , but you're like , I believe , with this candidate and this party more than the other . So I'm going to vote this way , but don't sit around .

Speaker 2

If anything , as a believer , you want to vote for people who are going to secure and kind of establish God's law in our land . As a believer , you want to put other believers in office or other people who will just uphold biblical morals and standards . Like , at least , we want to do those things .

Speaker 1

Well , the only way that people would agree with that is if they are mature enough to have a spiritual , biblical worldview .

Speaker 1

Now , if you really look at our nation , our nation was founded as a Christian nation . Now , of course , it was like giving them religious freedom , but the forefathers established it on biblical religious freedoms and so , with that understanding , everything that we have that we love about our country has really and it's been messy , it's been muddy , you know what I'm saying . It hasn't been perfect , it's not like perfect people just because they're Christians , but there was a religious freedom with a biblical basis of the foundation of our nation , and I think that that alone would warrant me , especially as a believer like I need other Christian leadership . I need other people with morals , I need other people that won't let the spirit of Antichrist begin to take the culture of our land to where we remove God from schools , we remove God from , you know , remove the commandments from different buildings . We do everything to . But hold on . We were one nation under God . Now we're trying to , you're trying to make us become one nation . That's anti-God , that's just not . No , I can't vote that way .

Speaker 1

You know , yeah , I agree . Here's the second thing to consider who you vote for is between you and God , and I'm saying these things up front because I think it's just wise . Now , like I said , you can go public if you want to , but you can be private about it , but who you vote for is between you and God at the end of the day meaning that it's not based upon what family members think , co-workers think , church members think or anybody else thinks .

Speaker 1

This is a private decision that you get to make , and so I don't know anything . Stick out to you with that one . Just think , no , okay , just All right , let's move on then . Things to consider . How about this Recognize that God has already ordained our next political leader ? Okay , there's a scripture that says let every person be subject to the governing authorities , for there's no authority except from God , and those who exist have been instituted by God . Can you speak to that at all ?

Speaker 2

I think . I think that speaks to fear for me . You know , some people are fearful , like , so , if who you voted for doesn't come into office , it's like , oh my gosh , the world's going to end , what's going to happen ? And like you know , gosh , the world's going to end , what's going to happen . And like you know all of this stuff .

Speaker 2

And I think we have to keep that biblical worldview and that biblical perspective as believers , that if who you vote for didn't win , it's like it's okay Because , I mean , god established authority , god knew they weren't going to win . They're in office . So we're going to respect this office , we're going to pray for this president and we pray that God makes all things work together for our good . We pray that he'll take what was meant for evil and work it for our good . Like , ultimately , god is in control . And so if someone that we feel is ungodly or that we feel shouldn't be in offices in office , well maybe they should be in office because God ordained it and let it happen . God allowed it to happen . So I believe that if God allowed that to happen , he's going to give us grace , he's going to give us favor , he's going to give us favor in the famine . He's going to give us whatever we need so that we can be victorious in this time , because he's not going to just let us be out here failing .

Speaker 1

That is good to be saved because good to be saved , Like even in the natural , the things that are happening in the natural . I still believe that no weapon formed against me shall prosper . I still believe that we're blessed in a city , blessed in the field . I still believe that , um no , you know , I still believe God's word , regardless of who's in office for me .

Speaker 1

And I think what you're speaking to is fear , and a lot of what we get from the media is just fear , and I think that people are taking that spirit of fear and they're going crazy with it Like okay .

Speaker 1

if Trump gets another four years , it's going to be all right . If Harris gets four years , eight years , it's going to be all right . Now I'm not saying that that's what I would prefer , or so forth and so on . I have a certain way that I think our nation should be ran . But what I'm saying is that God is still on the throne . As long as there's righteous in the land and as long as we're praying , god will even take the evil , turn it around and get some good out of it . So , no matter what atmosphere we step into , we don't step into it with fear , for we walk by faith .

Speaker 2

Absolutely , I think we all saw this when COVID came on the scene . I mean , there was a lot of fear with COVID , and rightfully so .

Speaker 2

I mean , there was so much going on and it was political . Covid was so political and you had one group of people believe in one thing and another group of people believing another thing . But , as a believer , we chose to take the stand that , yes , okay , I see both sides . I see that there are churches , Churches shut down . We're pastors , we lead churches , Churches shut down in COVID and no longer exist , and God bless that . But we say you know what ? We serve a mighty God . We are going to believe God through this and God kept us through it .

Speaker 2

When I heard of COVID , I just immediately like I'm a believer . So I did what the Bible says . I got the anointing oil and I prayed and declared the word of God over my home . I got the anointing oil and anointed my doorposts and my windows and said COVID , you are not allowed in my house . And so those are things that believers do to stand even though there is plague in the land . I believe that my God says that 10,000 shall fall to my side , but it shall not come nigh my dwelling , Like I'm going to believe the word and always default to the word , regardless of what's going on in my life .

Speaker 1

Here's another thing to consider If the candidate who wins is immoral , remember that God is able to use even wicked leaders to accomplish his eternal plan and I think that's a fear from a lot of people . You know that they get someone who's immoral and I think you can kind of reference Romans 13 , 1 through 7 . It doesn't give us permission to vote for immoral or bad candidates , but I think it goes back into the thing that if God allowed it Like if you look through the history of kings , like 1 Kings , 2 Kings , 1 Chronicles , 2 Chronicles you will see a lot of kings that were immoral and when they were immoral there was bad harvest that came on the land , but God used that to bring people back to him .

Speaker 1

I guess what I'm saying is that , as a believer , I'm never in fear , because I know that even what is bad , god can turn it around for my good . And so a president is not my God , god is my God , and God is not stepping off of the throne in four or eight years . Yes , he reigns forever , amen . Yeah , here's another thing to consider Never forget that God is causing all things , including the upcoming election , to work out for the good of his people , and so that's my scripture right now Romans 8 , 28 .

Speaker 2

You got something on that . Yeah , that's kind of like what we just talked about . Just regardless of the outcome and regardless of what's going on in our land , whether it's a plague , whether it's earthquake , whether it's whatever it is , the Bible says , time after time after time after time fear not , do not be afraid , do not fear , let's not fear . Why ? Because we're trusting in God that he said I am Jehovah Jireh , the Lord , god , who provides for you . And so we're just trusting God for safety , for protection , for everything .

Speaker 1

Yeah , so good , so good . Here's something else to consider everybody Respect those who oppose your political position , and we've talked about this briefly already , but we have to hammer this one in . Are you guys ready for this ? I need you to hear this you want to come to the place where you can love people that don't vote like you , where you can honor people that don't vote like you . You can actually embrace people that don't vote like you . I would actually ask you to even take it a step further .

Speaker 1

When you find out somebody don't vote like you , I would actually ask you to even take it a step further . When you find out somebody don't vote like you , instead of giving them the stiff arm , what would happen if you embraced them ? Take them out to lunch , invite them over , get to know them a little bit and find out why , what kind of worldview they have . Now I have family members and friends that don't vote like me , and I never try to really project what I think unless they ask me and most of the time people don't when it comes to politics , but I'll always ask them questions Well , why do you see it that way ?

Speaker 1

Well , could it be like this or could it be like that ? I always really try to be self-aware and really well-rounded . That's like , as a pastor , you get people and they'll come to you and be like well , my husband and he don't do this and he don't do that , and he this , that and other . Now there are some people that will hear that and be like your husband is a joker . But then , because I know people in the back of my head , I'm shaking my head like yeah , but I wonder what part you play , Cause I'm wise enough to know that there is another side to this .

Speaker 1

When I hear things on the news , I'm like , okay , I hear you , but I'm wise enough to know that there's another side . Right Now , for those of you all who are not like politically deep , you don't really know how this happens . I would encourage you to watch a show on Netflix called Madam Secretary .

Speaker 2

Oh my goodness , I just went there . Did you really refer , madam Secretary ?

Speaker 1

Listen . If you guys start watching , Madam Secretary , you will get behind the scenes . Look at how foreign policy is made . It is very interesting , though , how everything is done . There's too many people that just don't know , don't understand . And the media is playing off of their emotions .

Speaker 2

Yeah .

Speaker 1

They're playing off . See , the lowest hanging fruit for ad attacks is to make you not like that person . Now what does that mean ? Well , there's a great majority , a percentage of people that if they don't like you , they're not going to vote for you . It doesn't matter what your policies are , they don't know the policy . Yeah . They don't know your economic plan . Here's the thing I need to talk about this .

Speaker 2

You don't know your economic plan . They don't understand your climate control . I need to talk about this . Hold up . They don't understand that . So do you remember ?

Speaker 2

The other day we were just in the house , the family's in the house , and we're watching something great on TV . It's like sports , so maybe it was the Olympics or something and an ad came on TV and it doesn't even matter what side it's on , because they picture of the presidential candidate and they looked horrible . They looked mean and spooky , their face was black and they were like you know , and I'm like , no , you know , they don't look like that . And I told , I told you , I was just like .

Speaker 2

You know , when I see things like this come on my TV , I feel insulted . I said , like , on the behalf of the American people , on behalf of their party or whatever party they're trying to target , I feel insulted . I said , like , on the behalf of the American people , on the behalf of their party or whatever party they're trying to target , I feel insulted . Do you think that my intelligence level is that low that you can come on here and show me some storybook ? You know , picture , you know that you've obviously , you know , worked up and stuff like that to motivate me to be like oh yeah , look at them , they look evil . Oh yeah , Let me , I'm not going to vote for that . Like , don't insult my intelligence .

Speaker 1

The sad sides do it . The sad truth is that many people are persuaded that way . Oh it's , it's an emotional .

Speaker 2

It should not be for the believer . We have discernment going off . Let me tell you , you have the Holy Spirit in you and upon you and you have discerning of spirits . You can discern right from wrong , truth from a lie .

Speaker 1

So if you are voting for someone because you feel like now , here's the common thing they're asked that they're not smart . They're asked that they're too old , they're a narcissist , they're a racist . What are the other ones ? They have no experience . All of these are attacks towards how we feel about a person . It's not really based upon their tax cuts or their economic plan or prison reform .

Speaker 2

Their track record .

Speaker 1

Or their track record . It's really not based upon foreign affairs or how they feel about the military . It's not based upon all that . It's based upon like , yeah , that's just a narcissist right there . And yeah , the one that's killing me right now is that one party is going to destroy democracy and it's just so far beneath my intelligent radar , I'm like , but they were a president for four years . They didn't destroy democracy . Then was district attorney and was vice president for many years .

Speaker 1

Like it's just like . Like , I get what you're saying , you're pointing out these things , but I'm just smarter than that . And my suggestion and advice to people would be like I don't want to make a , like I don't like that person thing . I just don't like them , okay , but cause . And here's the thing You're not voting for a person , you person , you're voting for policies because the person is going to be out of the office in four or eight years , but their policies are going to remain forever .

Speaker 1

So I'm not voting for somebody because I like them , because it doesn't matter they ain't gonna be there well , that's the thing I don't think we are going to .

Speaker 2

I would hope so , but I don't necessarily think we're going to change politics in america . So , every election , every year , what I ? And it seems to get worse and worse every year . Both candidates , both sides , they , instead of standing up and saying this is who I am , this is my track record and this is what I believe in , and this is what I will do for America and this is what I'm going to do . Here's my resume . America , you are interviewing me to do . Here's my resume . America , you are interviewing me . Here is my resume . Instead of doing that , unfortunately , they talk about the other person and how bad the other person is and what they did , because they have to .

Speaker 1

They have to do that because if they don't do that , the majority are dumb .

Speaker 2

I don't think that . I don't think that's true . I wish it were the other way around For the United States of America . I wish we would be honorable and say honestly , I wish we would be like , hey , this is what I think , but we don't do that . So what that means is , as Americans , as believers , what we have to do is now we have to . When they're throwing the crazy ads out there , when they're saying , well , they did this . And they're saying , going back and forth , hating on each other , we have to , don't . I'm not jumping off the cliff of anger and rage and and bite backbiting and like all of this stuff and being frustrated because you are . I'm not going there with you . You can sit there and fight if you want to . I'm going to just let that go in one ear and out the other , but I'm going to hold on to your policies . I'm going to hold on to what I need to hold on to , but I'm not getting mad with you . I'm not jumping in the fire with you . You crazy . You go there by yourself .

Speaker 1

So I got a joke . It's not super appropriate , but it's my podcast . I just said that people are dumb . Our team is scared . Here's the thing you know the masses are dumb . Right for the masses . The masses are dumb . That's why we call them dumb masses , masses , m ? M . Okay , y'all not even ready .

Speaker 2

Drum roll , please , horns , let's go from the guy who does not profane . No , it's massive . Listen to what he does Not what else ?

Speaker 1

you are not just voting for a person , you're voting for policies . I hope that you got the point . Yeah , and so , um , it's not a based upon that person's too old , that person's stupid . That person's racist . That person's a narcissist . That person's an uncle Tom , that person's naive . That that person's a narcissist . That person's an Uncle Tom , that person's naive , that person's experienced . Those are personal attacks , policies , and here are some that you can consider All right . So , when you go to vote , what is their position concerning the economy ? What is their plan to get us out of trillions of dollars of debt ? Foreign affairs what is their position on foreign affairs ? How would they handle Gaza , Israel , hamas , russia ?

Speaker 2

China .

Speaker 1

Hamas , hamas , hamas . And also some baklava and some falafels . What about military strength ? How would they handle the borders ? Those are policies . Care for the elderly ? Okay . Care for our veterans ? Those are policies . Racism and equality what's their position , what's their voice on that ? And sometimes you got to Google it because you don't see this advertised . You have to say , okay , what is Trump's policies , or what is his plan for this , what is Harris plan for this ?

Speaker 1

And see what policies you agree with the most taxes , prison reform but my biggest one as a believer , can I give you what ? My biggest thing that I look for and the other ones are important to me as well , especially with inflation and the way the economy has been going is morality . It's just morality , and it's not just that person's morality , because I don't know who's the most moral person based upon what you show me in the advertisements .

Speaker 1

I don't know I'm not in your head and I'm not in your home , but what legislation would you put in place that could affect the morality of our nation ? As a believer , I believe in the sanctity of life in the womb . I believe the fruit of the womb is God's reward . I believe in the biblical definition of marriage .

Speaker 1

There are certain things morality is important to me and I just feel like that should register with every believer . Now , I know believers . They're like yeah , yeah , I get it , I'm with that on everything , but what about this and what about that ? For me , that's very important . Yeah , morality is important . Um , I could go through a list of other things you know there's very few things that can like .

Speaker 2

You know we talk about . You know the sanctity of life and you know the unborn child , you know whether they are . You know when does life begin . I believe life begins at conception and then we have a life . You know it's , you know a growing baby on the inside of us , and we don't say that as novice .

Speaker 1

We say that I mean you should go and watch a podcast , while having an abortion was the worst mistake of our lives , and so , you know , we , we , we understand that side of it and um , there's ramifications that is horrible for the psychology of the woman , for the body , for innocent life , and um , I have conversations with people about this and right now , the narrative on abortion is being so spent towards a woman's health and it's like the woman this and a woman that , and it's like , but you , so we're fighting for a justice for the woman , but what about justice for the unborn ? Yeah , and so if we have equal justice , it's like and it's not . You know , I think when it comes to certain things , especially with abortion , you know you got rape , you have have incest , you have the mother's health . Let's just put that to the side for a minute . That's not what we're talking about .

Speaker 1

We're talking about people that can just go and take the baby's life .

Speaker 2

This is inconvenient for me .

Speaker 1

And so our whole position on that is just to say there was a spirit called a false God in the Bible I think it was Moloch and that false God would have you sacrifice your children as a form of worship and it brought great destruction . And I just think that there's still principalities and spirits through different cultures that would have us not protect the unborn , and they're being influenced by the spirit of Moloch . And that is not hate language , that is not being narrow , that is just a biblical worldview and I hope that every Christian will have a biblical worldview . So that's , we kind of got off on that .

Speaker 2

But yeah , I think the key word well , I think the key word is the biblical worldview . I just , I don't know . I just go to the Bible for everything . So if , if there is something to be found in the Bible that would persuade me to vote one way or the other , I'm going to go there . I'm going to find it and I'm going to vote on what the Bible says , because the Bible says what God says . It's the word of God .

Speaker 1

Well , that brings me to our next category , which was how to vote . Christian 2024 . Once again , we can't tell people how to vote . I think part of this is that we're telling you how we make our decision to vote , Then saying you go talk to God about this yourself , because we're talking to Christians , and what we just said was actually point number one make God's word your primary voting guide . How do I vote in 2020 ? Make God's word your primary voting . God , you go look at Molech M-O-L-E-C-H . I believe what it is .

Speaker 1

You go look at the fruit of the womb . What does God say about the womb and how he protects ? You go look at God's intention for sexuality and marriage and morality . You go look at how Israel was in such a nation of peace , at a place of peace , when Solomon first took over with a theocracy where God ?

Speaker 1

was at the head of everything and everything else fell into place and everybody had an abundance , and so what we're trying to do as believers is we go to God's word , and God's word isn't clear about everything . God's word don't tell me exactly who to vote for , but I learned certain principles and things that I think is good for governing . Yes .

Speaker 2

Anything else on that ? No , that's good . I think , like you said , you won't find everything in the word of God , but you will find specific principles . Let those principles guide you . On the majority , there is a minority that you will find in there , but the minority can guide the majority Right .

Speaker 1

Number two how to vote Christian in 2024 , vote for a candidate who upholds Christian principles and values . Okay , Um , religious freedom . Will the candidate hinder your relationship with Jesus or will he or she protect your liberty as a Christian ?

Speaker 2

That's very important .

Speaker 1

Human life , with a candidate promote abortion or where he or she fight for the sacredness of the womb marriage , with a candidate endorse biblical marriage , or will they she fight for the sacredness of the womb Marriage ? Will the candidate endorse biblical marriage ? Or will the candidate take part of our taxes to what is called endorse gender confusion ? These are all , man . There's so many people that need counseling , they need deliverance , and I just feel like the enemy is able to blind us in trying to be politically correct , and so those things are important to me from a biblical worldview . Biblical worldview .

Speaker 2

Well , you know , even I see handcuffs , you know so like the enemy tries to blind us by political correctness or political policies . And so , if we , you know , that's why it's so important for us to vote and to know , be educated about what we're voting for , and to vote for biblical principles and put people who are going to put people in office who will vote the way that you think they should vote , or according to the Bible , because , if not , laws will come into place that will handcuff us into allowing unbiblical things to happen , unmoral things to happen in our society , and that's not good for anyone .

Speaker 1

Yeah , I think the fight for the morality of our nation is at hand and I don't think we win that when being completely quiet . I consider myself more of an introvert and I just don't want to get into certain . I like to stay out of other people's business , but this one involves us all . So when you see communism and you see like China , they have an underground church and there's no religious freedom . In some places there's not freedom of speech . We don't want that here .

Speaker 1

You know what I'm saying . I believe people should have a freedom to be Christian , muslim , buddhist , atheist , agnostic or whatever they choose . Why ? Because the Bible gives people freedom . Yes , god does not make people accept Jesus . He lays before you life and death , blessings and curses , and he gives you a hint . Like choose Jesus , he's the way , the truth and the life , but he won't make you do it . Like choose Jesus , he's the way , the truth and the life , but he won't make you do it . I love it that we have religious freedoms , um , but at the same time , because I understand Jesus , I understand natural , spiritual , like kingdom order , I'm like no , this is a nation that we have to fight to protect our religious freedoms because we don't want to be like China . We have to hide to have church or be persecuted because of our faith . So we want to put people in place that will be friendly towards that , and so I think that's huge . Right there . Number three we've got to look at their track record because , you will know , a tree bites fruit .

Speaker 2

Yes , you want to speak to that ? I think that . So you know , we were talking about our 18 year old . She's voting for the first time , and so she comes and she says , mom , you know like OK , so this side says this , but then this side says this and this side says that the other side is lying . But they said that they're lying . Who's telling the truth ? How do I know ? And I'm like that's a great question , like you know , how do you know ? Just sitting there listening to them ?

Speaker 2

or if you're just looking it up or if you're just looking it up and so , um , uh , my response was you have to look at their track record . What do you care about ? Pull out the topics that you care about . Find out what they voted on . If you care about abortion , how did they vote ? If you care about taxes , how did they vote ? If you care about education , you know all kinds of things .

Speaker 2

you know the economy if you care about foreign affairs , whatever you care whatever you care about , look it up and see how they vote , keep on going , and then you know , just create a little checkbox and then you'll see that you'll begin to see a pattern here of who lines up with your beliefs .

Speaker 1

And we'll give you one more just for the sake of time . I pray you guys have enjoyed this . We want to see your comments . We want to hear from you . We'd love to hear your perspective . We don't feel like we know everything . We're just sharing with you out of our wheelhouse how we think about things from our worldview and the time that we've been walking with the Lord . This is my last one for today . You got to let God lead you and who you vote for , and I think I'll stop it right there . I'll drop the mic , I'll leave the stage on that one , and that's not a cop out . Like let God lead you . Like I understand that we need to do our homework .

Speaker 1

We need to look into policy .

Speaker 1

We need to look at a person's fruit , but at the end of the day , we need to say Holy Spirit , help me make a good decision . Sometimes Holy Spirit will make you make a decision because he wants the nation to go this way or he wants the nation to go that way . Me personally , I'm not making that decision based upon the political party that my parents grew up with , or the political party that the people that I work with all go around they make jokes the other way and I'm sitting there being all quiet or the political party of my church or my pastor . I want to make a decision that I've been educated and I felt peace with . Now Romans , there's a scripture that says that the sons of God are led by the spirit of God . And you say , pastor , how do I vote ? At the end of the day , where's the holy spirit leading you ? Is he giving you peace ? If he's giving you a nudge , is he giving you an unction ? And I think that if every believer does that , I'm cool with whatever results might come .

Speaker 2

Because I know god got us . Yeah , if you're being led by god , yeah , I think , um , you know , I heard a few people say that they didn't vote in the last election believers and they said they just didn't . They felt like both sides were corrupt or both sides were , you know , evil no perfect set of people Exactly and I just wanted to , you know , ask your opinion on that , just like I think you fear paralyzes and if you become fearful of like , oh my gosh , if I vote for this one or I vote for that , like it will paralyze you . But you have to walk by faith , you have to listen for the voice of God and you know , like we just said , looking for someone's track record , I mean there's a lot of stuff said about people that we don't know if it's the truth or not the truth . You know what I mean .

Speaker 1

Like we don't , we're not in their heart , we can't judge if a person yeah people can say they're saved and they're not saved , I mean just whoever's a public figure .

Speaker 2

Yeah , like . So you don't know what's in people's heart . So for me , I would encourage those people who feel stuck and frozen and afraid to vote . I would say , please vote number one . Number two don't look at . I don't vote for a personality . I don't vote for people because I like them or because they're cool or because you know they're a man or a woman , or I just black or black , or that's the dumbest stuff yeah , like I don't , you know , like okay that is very offensive .

Speaker 1

That one comment about if you don't , if you're not black , you don't vote for me yeah , that's you know , or something like that , that's that's so if you're not black , you're not , you're , you're fishing for a lower level of thinker . Yeah , so like no I ?

Speaker 2

don't vote on all those things . But even with that comment , I can take that comment and throw it away because I'm looking at policies , I'm looking at track record . So if I'm a believer and there's a person who is of a different religion say they don't believe in my God but they vote , morally we agree and morally we're correct , well I'm voting for that person because this is .

Speaker 1

Two candidates I have .

Speaker 2

They support biblical principles Even though they don't believe in my God . They support biblical principles even though they don't believe in my god . They , you know , support and will vote for and put into policy biblical principles . That's who I would vote for . It has nothing to do with personality . I'm not voting for a pastor . I'm voting for a president , right right , so good , hey .

Speaker 1
