This is an area of living that we have tried our best to steward for as long as we've known each other . Today's segment is entitled Achieve Healthy Living Simple strategies for getting in shape despite challenges . All right , how do you feel Now most of the time when we start a new year ?

Speaker 1

Now this is February , now we're coming towards the end of February , and I like this time because many times people start off with New Year's goals , and I'm a goal setter . I believe in making goals . I believe there are a lot of people who don't make goals because they set goals and they didn't accomplish them or something happened and they feel that they don't want to set goals . But I believe that all faith needs a target . The scripture says that this way man plans , but God directs our path . I believe we need a plan . So it might not be goal setting for you , but it should be like vision casting . This is where I am , this is where I want to go , so help me , god .

Speaker 1

But the problem with New Year's goals now , I'm a goal setter . But the problem with New Year's goals is that sometimes they're based upon emotions , meaning it's a new year and I'm going to come up when I'm going to lose weight and I'm going to do this , that and other , but most people , by February , have dropped those goals . Statistically speaking , a big portion of people who set New Year's goals by February have not have just dropped those goals altogether . So instead of saying these are goals , let's just say it is a Holy Spirit led commitment that we're making , and I believe that we can do that here at the end of February . January is out the door . Now it's February . Let the real work begin .

Speaker 2

Wow , yeah , I'm a big goal setter too . I like to set goals , but I think when it comes to , you know , like new year's goals or new year's resolutions and things like that , I agree they don't get done . I think they're unrealistic . That's why , like when you said , emotional , but I think it's just they're unrealistic goals . I think , for some reason , like we have to be real with ourselves , and I say this through experience like why do I think that because the calendar turns to a new year on January 1st , I'm all of a sudden going to have motivation to go run a marathon , when I never even ran one mile in my life ?

Speaker 1

Well , that's what it is . It's motivation . So , the new year motivates people , but that motivation is short lived , without strategy , exactly . But I say let's capitalize on motivation . No really .

Speaker 2

I love it .

Speaker 1

Like . I'm like oh , it's a new year , it's going to be a new me , but I've been goal setting so many years that I know that all goals need to be attainable . It needs to be a stretch of attainable , realistic , no really , I feel like people need to be great goal setters , like Google . How to set goals ? Don't give up on goal setting you know , but I understand what you're saying at the same time .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I don't know . I'm all about goal setting too . I mean , I'm here for it . I'm all about exercising . I'm all about health . I love it , but I think that sometimes you know you have to locate yourself and know when to take baby steps . Know when to like . If you don't eat any vegetables at all , you know you can't . You know , start off by one vegetable a week . You know what I mean . Start off by one meal a week . You're going to eat a salad , okay , you know what I mean . If you don't drink any water at all , just start off by one glass a day . You know , and set goals . It's still setting goals , but set goals that way , instead of being like , come the first of the year , I'm only eating vegetables , I'm only going to drink water . You're probably going to crash and burn out that way and then just go back to your old ways .

Speaker 1

Well , today's podcast really isn't about goal setting . It's really about getting in shape . And you know , because we're in February now . I think , that our audience , who decides to get in shape , will decide not based upon emotions , but they'll just hear something today and they'll know this is what I need to do and really , with the help of the Lord , you can do hard things .

Speaker 1

You can get it done . And so for us I mean , we've been married for 25 years and us being in shape is important to us for longevity reasons we want to be around a long time . Stewardship reasons I want to steward the body that God's given me . Sleep reasons I think when you're in shape , you sleep better , you feel better , you're more confident , you have less health challenges , which there's less than pulling on your finances . It's a whole world of stuff .

Speaker 1

And so today is really for those people that all together they are willing to . Let's just get in shape , even if it's hard and I like that part even if it's hard even if it's hard . Can you talk to me about that ? Because has it been hard for you lately ? Oh yeah , it's been hard .

Speaker 2

I mean , it was always . You know , exercise and being fit and being in health , it's always a hard thing . I don't think it's ever like easy , you know , because you have to make , you know , just on , intentional decisions , to do hard things . But there are some times , yes , where it has been harder than others . So , you know , staying in shape I've been a runner my whole life . I've been active . My whole life played sports , athletic . I'm always doing something , and so physical fitness has been a passion and something that I guess has been easy to maintain because I never let off .

Speaker 2

But then I would say , once I had a baby , like I remember , when we had Hannah , our firstborn child , I gained 60 pounds and I ran until I couldn't run anymore . It was just like my belly was too big and so I stopped running . And then I lost my passion because I'm a runner and I don't like to lift weights , I don't like to walk . That's boring to me , you know . And so I stopped exercising altogether , maybe about six months into it . And so then , after I had her postpartum , I started to get back in shape again . I remember it was like one of the most difficult things that I had to do and I remember at the time thinking that , wow , is this what it's like for people who have never , haven't exercised their whole life ? I was 30 when we had our first child . I'm like , is this what it feels like for people who say , oh , you know , I'm 30 , 40 years old , now I'm going to try to go get in shape ? It hurts , you feel like you might die , you feel like I can't breathe . This is impossible . How could I do this ?

Speaker 2

You know , I remember running around after we had our second baby . We're running , I'm running around the community . Remember there was like a big square in our neighborhood . There was a big square and it was like a half a mile to go one lap . So I remember just being out there running and I felt like , man , this is really hard . And then I felt like , whoa , I feel like somebody's following me . And I kept looking back over my shoulder like , okay , nobody's there . But I had this sense that somebody was tagging behind me . I look back , it was my booty , just back there , tagging along , weighing me down . I was like what in the where did that come from ?

Speaker 1

I thought you were going to say that , but I was like no , she ain't going to say her booty's holding her down .

Speaker 2

It was , it was . I just say that it was really hard getting back in shape after having kids . Then , honestly , you know , even fighting cancer and you know it had been , you know , like chemotherapy , all of those things , it was just like really hard on my body . Yeah , that was like . I would say , almost like a year and a half where you wasn't able to work out at all just because of health things , I walked , but it was just not the same as building muscle and doing like cardio , like sweating and things like that , and it was really , really difficult .

Speaker 2

And so I think this podcast is important . I think for those people who maybe have never been in shape in their entire lives , have never been athletic , um , have a lot of weight to lose and they're just making the decision Maybe you tried before and you failed , or like you quit because it's just so painful and you feel like it's gonna hurt I think this podcast is important because it is encouragement to say no , it's okay , it's supposed to hurt . Right , it hurts . You might feel like you're going to die , but you're not going to die .

Speaker 2

Okay , yesterday I did . I started a new exercise program and it's it was it's weightlifting , and so it was um , back and buys and so , um , I did that . But then yesterday I couldn't straighten out my arm because this little whatever this ligament is here at the bottom of my bicep . I couldn't . I couldn't straighten out my arm because this little whatever this ligament is here at the bottom of my bicep . I couldn't , I couldn't straighten it out . It hurt too bad . It was like there was a dog just bit onto it and hanging from my arm . It was so painful the drama , the drama .

Speaker 1

It's so real , okay now . So you're 49 , okay , and I'm 46 , player from the Himalayas , um , and I've realized that as we've gotten older , you're more sore , you're more tight , it's harder but it still needs to be done yes um , I've realized that I've seen you , you know , and this is not something that's recent , it's almost like you know , it's been going on for years now , but you , you do a lot of that kind of stuff . Like there's something like you know some pain and some weird muscle spasms .

Speaker 1

She has some of the most intense muscle spasms .

Speaker 2

I've ever seen .

Speaker 1

I'm talking about grit in the hamstring .

Speaker 2

I would rather you punch me in the face 2 am in the morning and have this muscle spasm in my thigh .

Speaker 1

Oh , my goodness and I run downstairs , I get some salt .

Speaker 2

You're a good husband , babe . Thank you , man , I'm working .

Speaker 1

I'll be working this week , it hurts it hurts , but I mean , I think that there are some people that will go through . That hasn't been your mindset . What's your mindset ?

Speaker 2

I personally , I want to live a long life and I just don't want to live a long life where I'm walking around and you know I can't get around . I want to live a long , healthy life . I want to be 90 years old tending to my garden . You know I want to be walking and playing with my great grandchildren , but I know that there's something that you have to do in order to achieve that . Also , you know and I hear a lot of people say well , is it that really that important ? My grandmother lived till she was 105 and she didn't exercise a day in her life . And it's like that's great if you have that kind of genetics and stuff , but I wouldn't put all my eggs in that basket . We live in a different time . Your grandmother didn't . She walked where she needed to go . You know what I mean . She had stairs to walk in . She she washed probably washed clothes with her hands and not with a washing machine .

Speaker 1

I was listening to something the other day and there was a study of people who lived to a hundred and the most common theme among them was that they walked consistently to live to a hundred . Walking is really good for you , they say that walking is one of the best things that you can do , so we're not talking about . We're not talking about this . Gotta be like beach body or what's that stuff you like to do ? Hip hop abs , what's that ?

Speaker 2

stuff you do that's real old . Yeah , no , what's that stuff ?

Speaker 1

Insanity , insanity , all that kind of stuff , or we're not saying now if you can do that , go for it . I'm on Instagram . I see some guys . Their chisel is like they got zero body fat , they got a nine pack , they got all this stuff . But I love to talk just to average people . It's just like you know what ? I got children , I'm in business , I'm in ministry . I want to be in shape . I don't necessarily need to be the best bodybuilder in the world and I think this conversation is good because it lets us know that , yeah , it can be hard , but you can keep going and it's necessary . The scripture says this exercise profits little , but it doesn't say it profits none . It profits little in comparison to spiritual things , but it still profits , and I think it's important for us to know that eating well and exercising , stewarding our temple is so important for the longevity of what God's called us to do .

Speaker 2

I don't think people realize how good life can be or how much better their life can be when they are physically fit . How much , I guess , easier their life is when you don't get winded from walking up the stairs , when you're not dog tired at the end of the day , when you have enough energy to spend time with your husband or your wife at the end of the day you have enough energy to play with your kids and do things . All of those things happen whenever you're physically fit . And I actually read this as well .

Speaker 2

I was listening to someone who was a brain surgeon or maybe like study the brain , neurology , things like that . They said that you know people talk about exercise and the emphasis most of the time when people talk about exercise is about physical activity and what you look like and losing weight , even to be healthy . He was like all of those things are good , but he said the main thing I think people should be , he thought people should be talking about , is the benefit that it does to your brain . He said if you do not exercise , the inactive body actually deteriorates your brain . And I was like whoa , you know , like , but it makes so much sense because when I am physically fit , I'm mentally alert , and when I'm not physically fit , I'm just lethargic .

Speaker 1

Well , let's take let's take a moment now and let's just drop as many dimes as we can Things we've learned over the last 20 plus years about healthy eating and exercise . Now , I know that you are super , super astute when it comes to the body and what you put on it , from lotions to ingredients , to cell phones , to rays going through your body , through light , to grounding , through food , through you know all these different things . I'll just open up . What is it that ? How do you live ? Let's start with food and stuff . When it comes to eating , what are some principles that you live by or some things that you would tell people to look out for , or maybe even adjust ?

Speaker 2

I think you know well . First of all , I became passionate about health and things like that . I remember I don't know a lot of my dad . He died when I was young but he was a boxer , a professional boxer , and he would wake up in the morning and he would crack a half a dozen raw eggs and put them in a glass , a tall glass , and he would tease me and say you want some , you want some . I'd say no , gross . And he would drink those eggs . He would open up a can of sardines and just take out the sardines and eat them for the protein . He would take me on runs with him in the morning when I wasn't feeling well . He would slice up onions , put them in a towel , roll it and put it around my neck . I hated it because I would just begin to sweat and just smell like a big old onion . But I felt better because it caused me to detox on all these things . So some of it I became passionate through my dad and my grandmother .

Speaker 2

I was raised by my grandmother who had so many home remedies . She taught me how to eat just fresh vegetables from the garden . You know good stuff . And so now you know , as I became an adult , I kind of had those things kind of naturally in me , but then I started to have some physical challenges in my body , like challenges with like autoimmune diseases and thyroidism , hypothyroidism , things like that , hashimoto's and what I learned is that some of the trauma that I experienced in my childhood really affected my body and most human beings in the earth today . If you listen to scientists , biologists , they will tell you that , like the Bible says , that most things start in the spirit and then you see them manifest in the natural . So some of the traumatic events that we've been through , even when we were in our mother's womb , affect our life , our body , how we you know how healthy we are or how not healthy we are- let's park right there for a minute .

Speaker 1

I think that some people I've heard some people say that 85% of physical disease is psychosomatic . 85% of physical disease is psychosomatic , meaning that 85% of what is cancer , lupus , arthritis is because of something psychosomatic . There is some trauma that hasn't been resolved . So that lets us know . Number one we got to do a really , really good job of getting the junk out of the trunk , because it is affecting us Now .

Speaker 1

We believe in a lot of homeopathic stuff . You know a lot of the doctors that we go through through chiropractors and different things . They do muscle testing . They understand ancient Chinese practices and acupunctures and different pressure points , and I think over the years we've learned that the body is like a book and it's actually telling you what it needs or doesn't need . So some of the doctors that we go to that understand homeopathic , ancient Chinese acupuncture , muscle testing and stuff . They you're frustrated . Oh well , there's anger . Oh , I just had my doctor . I came in and I was having a little bit of like how can I say it appropriately like slow bowel movements , right , and he starts doing muscle testing and he's hitting acupuncture points .

Speaker 1

And he's doing this thing , he's counting and my body's telling him . You know , because your your body , like the way they do muscle testing is like you hold your arm out strong and if it gets weak , you know your body's telling you something . And he went back to when I was 14 years old and he says well , there's something traumatic happening in your life from 14 years old and I was like man , I don't feel like talking about this because it's I'm 46 six years old and he's I'm like , yeah , my best friend killed himself when I was 14 .

Speaker 1

And then the girl that I liked a lot , you know her dad didn't like me and he made us , you know , stop talking to each other , put teachers in the school to watch and make sure we wouldn't talk and all this stuff . And my doctor's like I'm so sorry , I'm like this is like too much bro , but he's like no , no , there's frustration and there's anger , and so that is what did he say . It's like now that from back in the day , because I had just went through something with a leadership transition , on staff , and it triggered my ability not to trust people meaning that something can happen and I feel like I have no control over it , and it was like when my friend killed him .

Speaker 1

I had no control over it . And this girl . I had no control over it . Then , 30 years later , I had no control and now I'm feeling constipation or something that's happening and he's clearing that . He's clearing the emotion before he really gets to the physical part , and I think that you don't get that at a regular doctor . You get put on pills and medicine and it's like no , you got to deal with the spirit , soul and the body .

Speaker 2

You got to deal with your mind , will and emotions .

Speaker 1

All of this stuff is interconnected and God has made us three parts , like he's made . He's made up father , son , holy spirit . We're spirit , soul and body . And your soul is so intricate , intricately affecting your body , that you really have to . You know , I mean that was too much .

Speaker 2

No , it wasn't too much , but it's so true because a lot of people have , um you know , uh , like high blood pressure , they have high cholesterol , they have , um you know , autoimmune diseases , a lot of autoimmune diseases I mean . So much of it is emotionally driven .

Speaker 1

Yeah , people who have a lot of autoimmune issues usually have a level of self-hatred or self-condemnation or self-shame . They're hard on themselves . They don't like themselves , they're hard on them . So what happens with autoimmune is that your body's attacking each other . So for . Hashimoto's . Your immune system is attacking your thyroid For rheumatoid arthritis it's attacking your joints .

Speaker 1

So all the autoimmune stuff is basically there . So one of the things that we've learned is grace to self , that you have to forgive yourself , love yourself , patience with yourself , and a lot of people who are hard on themselves . They're so gracious towards everybody else but they dog themselves out . I think you went through a season . I did .

Speaker 2

I did and I mean I would like to share it because I think it didn't come up by coincidence and so I had been diagnosed with Hashimoto's thyroiditis and I was like , wow , this is crazy . I started believing God , like no , I want to be healed from this Right . So I go off on this journey . And there was one time I was getting ready for work , I was looking in the mirror and I was going into a meeting and I'm going to lead the meeting . It was , I don't know what it was , but , and I remember I was just tearing myself apart in the mirror Like why are you even going ? Nobody wants to listen to you anyway . Did you ? You know ? Are you prepared ? Look at you , you look crazy . You're overweight , like all of this stuff .

Speaker 2

And I heard God speak to me and say God , speak to me . And say like , not audibly , but in my heart , he said who are you talking to ? And it kind of caught me by surprise because I was like , kind of like , ignored him for a minute . And he's like who are you talking to ? And I'm like you know me ? And he's like , how dare you talk to my daughter like that ? And then he said , would you talk to your daughter like that ? Would you talk to your friend like that ? Would you talk to anyone like that ? And that's all he said after that .

Speaker 2

And when he said that I repented , I was like I'm sorry , lord , and I knew enough at this point I was in ministry and things like that . I put one hand on my gut , because I know that's where most of your immune system is , and then I put the other hand on my thyroid and I said I repent of that . In the name of Jesus , forgive me . I said I wave the right white flag . I'm no longer going to be at war with my own body . I'm no longer going to be at war with who I am . I'm a child of God , created in the image and likeness of God . I declare peace with myself . And I just began to build myself up Within 30 days , because I had another doctor appointment scheduled within 30 days . We went back to Dr Colbert and what did he say ?

Speaker 2

You were healed . You do not have Hashimoto's , and I've never had it again since .

Speaker 1

Yeah , that's an amazing story . We have plenty of stories like that but that's so good , that's so good .

Speaker 1

So , over our journey , I want our pain to create a purpose , and I think we've been through a lot Cancer , hashimoto's , thyroidism I had thyroid problems levels , cholesterol levels , all these different things . But what it made us do ? It made us to go to God , number one for health and healing the Bible , but number two to really research food , atmospheres , environments , to really get smarter with how we steward our bodies . There's so much that we've learned over the years .

Speaker 2

There's so much , can you just throw out a couple . I would say like one basic principle overall is that I like to do things . Whatever I partake in , I like it to be natural . I try to say is God the source of this ? So whether , if it's what I eat , I try to make it as natural as possible . No man-made , no GMOs , there's all these terms organic GMO , so you ?

Speaker 1

would rather it to be living than in a box Living , yeah , living food . You want your food to be as living as much as possible .

Speaker 2

Yes , god created us from the earth , right , he created us and he made our bodies in a certain way . So he created the food for us to eat , and so , as long as God created it , that's a carrot from the ground , not something that has been processed . And now you don't know if it's a carrot , a broccoli , and you don't know what it is , because it's packaged and boxed up in such a way it's no longer good for our bodies .

Speaker 1

The second thing that we do is we try to eat organic as much as we can , as much as we can , so , even if it's a carrot or broccoli that the Lord has made , because we're in a fallen world . They're putting pesticides and all these different things and they're using biotics to make animals bigger and producing . They're killing animals . When they do it , they're electrocuting them in different things and they're releasing chemicals that are poisonous to us , and so as much as we can get like natural farm fed organic stuff which is a little bit more expensive .

Speaker 1

But you're either going to pay now or pay later . You're going to pay now through organic foods and taking care , or you're going to pay later through doctor bills and shortness of life .

Speaker 2

I know some people say is that really real ? Is that really all the hype ? Are you just trying to be bougie and be and be cute and buy organic ? No , it is really real . Just do a little bit of research on it and you'll find the difference . I will say this I've been gluten free for several years and I don't have what is it called Celiac disease , where , like it's the actual gluten , but my problem is it's the actual wheat .

Speaker 2

That just causes an intolerance for me and it makes me not feel well . And so when I went we went to Italy recently and I heard that if you don't have celiacs , try to eat in overseas , because in Europe because they're the pesticides that we spray our foods with in America are outlawed in Europe . And so in Italy I ate pizza , pasta , I ate pasta . We went in you remember our last day there we went into a pastry store and we bought like I was like I'll take that and that and that . I mean I got everything , it was so wonderful and I was not sick . I mean I was like I'll take that and that and that . I mean I got everything , it was so wonderful and I was not sick . I mean it was fine and so that just I was kind of angry at that point because I was like , wow , why can't I eat food in my own nation , you know like ? But anyway , it's real .

Speaker 1

There is an obese epidemic in America , there is an unhealthy epidemic in America , and you are going to have to swim upstream . Yeah , the stream is going fast and everybody's going this way , and you're going to have to be bold enough to walk in the different direction , and so that's just the times that we're living . Hopefully , the administration we currently have will continue to clean it up .

Speaker 2

Come on .

Speaker 1

But , dog , I mean so gluten free . And then we found out that , yeah , there's a chemical in gluten . It wasn't just that you're allergic to bread .

Speaker 2

Yeah , it was the pesticides that are treated on the wheat , and so that was what was bothering me . So now I got on Amazon and bought some flour from Italy and I can make myself what I want .

Speaker 1

So , anyway , that's just I feel like this could be three or four segments , because I see you doing a lot of light therapy . I see you doing a lot of light therapy with you because I see you doing a lot of light therapy . I see you doing a lot of light therapy . I see you doing . I've seen you practice grounding and things like that . But this conversation is really why I say it can be three or four segments , because we spent thousands of dollars on this Now .

Speaker 1

I remember years ago , when you first had some health balance , I sent you to Kansas to a special clinic . It's about $10,000 . You stayed there for a week and they helped you out quite a bit .

Speaker 2

They basically detoxed me of all of the junk , and that's when you was dealing with .

Speaker 1

Lyme disease .

Speaker 2

Yes .

Speaker 1

And then , after Kansas , and then also by the power of the Spirit , we had a pastor lay hands on you . You got healed of Lyme disease .

Speaker 2

Absolutely , you're healed today . Girl , you've had some issues I know with you . I I'm like I know and all I can do is say and that's why my heart just goes out to people who have been through trauma in their lives , people who , like it's one thing after another , after another .

Speaker 1

It's just like you think a lot of sickness I do .

Speaker 2

I think it was all linked to childhood , and when you listen , you can begin to research this on your own . Listen to other psychiatrists , psychologists , brain doctors they will tell you how much what you go through in your childhood affects the rest of your life . The good news is is that we have power , authority and dominion in Jesus Christ , and so what I have done is we're talking about a lot of natural things here because they help . But on top of that natural , there are spiritual things , like I just said with take , you know , no , I declare peace over my body and then , you saw , I broke that spirit of sickness off of my life and then the sickness had to go and now I'm , you know , I'm healed . But there's a lot of those things that we have the power over it all . So it's not to be hopeless , but it is to open our eyes to say , oh my gosh , if you're just going through all of this sickness and you're always tired and you know that you're out of weight , overweight , out of shape , you feel terrible but you're not doing anything about it because you're too tired to exercise . You don't know about the foods that you eat . You keep eating the same foods doing the same thing , and you're just in this ugly cycle . We have to break that cycle .

Speaker 2

I hope that this podcast will encourage people who are stuck in that cycle to say oh okay , I can do this . Oh , I knew I wasn't crazy . I know I'm not lazy , I want to live a good life . I know I can do this . It's just way harder than what I think it was . I'm in a battle that I didn't even know I was facing . Some of the things that I've overcome in my life . Those were my mom's battles , those were my dad's battles , or grandparents , that they did not finish . But guess what ? You're stopping it . Through the power of Jesus , I say no , my daughters don't have to face that battle . Right , Our son . They don't have to face those battles , and anyone listening can do the same thing that I did .

Speaker 1

Wow . Well , thank you for being a pioneer . Yeah , I think that there's a lot of people who's listening , that they are the righteous seed in their family line and it's like well , why is it so hard for me ? Why am I going through ?

Speaker 1

so much Because God's called you , hand-selected you , to break generational curses and to establish the generational blessing . There's an anointing to be able to do it . I've seen you do it , I've seen you battle , I've seen you grow , I've seen you and there's just so much here . I don't know . This podcast is interesting because this is not the podcast we planned . I feel an anointing here .

Speaker 1

I feel like God's grace is on this one , but it's definitely not what we thought about talking about . I thought we were going to come out here and talk about getting on a treadmill , lifting some weights , doing a little bit of beach body , doing what you got to do , and it's more like holistic , healthy living . I don't want somebody to feel overwhelmed , though I would say this if you are new to this whole food thing , even when it comes to water , like this woman here , okay , so we was drinking all bottled water because she didn't want us to drink tap water . Now she's out with the bottled water because the plastics leave some kind of chemical . She bought this whole thing , hooked it up to the sink , didn't feel like she hooked it up well , then bought a machine that takes tap water and breaks all of the bad stuff out of tap water and I'm like I can't do all of that .

Speaker 1

This just takes too much time . But there's just so much information , you know , and some people will call it overboard . I would say how important is longevity and health to you . So I would really um people say , okay , if I want to start somewhere past , where would I start ? I would say Google , dr Don Colbert books .

Speaker 2

Yeah , I think that's a good place . It's a very old book called the seven pillars , don Cooper . It's old but it's still good , it's the basics .

Speaker 1

Listen , take our advice on this . People of God , listen , I want you now . This has been our personal doctor . How long babe ?

Speaker 2

At least 15 years . 15 years at least . The oldest charity , yeah , 15 . Yeah , at least 15 years .

Speaker 1

He is one of the best medical doctors in the entire world . That is a believer that understands the mind , the spirit , the body , and I want you to go get his books . He's written so many books . He is a bestselling author . He wrote the books . The Maker was it .

Speaker 2

No , that wasn't him . The Bible Cure , he did the Bible Cure .

Speaker 1

Diabetes , the Bible Cure . The Arthritis , the Bible Cure . Just Don Colbert D-O-N Colbert C-O-L-B-E-R-T . Just put in Don Colbert books and I want you to look through his books and I want you to see which ones stick out to you . Just begin to make an investment with the right information , because we're just shooting all over the place and you're not going to know what to do .

Speaker 1

But if you start to educate yourself like we've been educating , it's going to affect you , and I think this podcast might add 10 , 15 years of life onto somebody that's going to take this and go do something with it Anything else ?

Speaker 2

You know , just in in in your starting , I would just encourage you to start small . If you're starting from ground zero , just start small . Do it ? Just start small with doing with what you know to do drink water water .

Speaker 2

Exercise Walk . I remember when I was going through chemotherapy I walked two miles a day Most days , unless it was maybe on the same day that I had chemotherapy I didn't , but I would walk two miles a day and it wasn't that weightlifting building my muscle , but there was something in that walking and in that exercise that just kept me going and I think it helped me recover .

Speaker 1

And I would say this , and I want to talk specifically to men . I mean this is for everybody , but specifically for men Go to the doctor , go get your checkups done and get them done regularly , man , regularly . I know there's a lot of people that they don't want to go to the doctor until it's almost too late . A lot of this stuff early prevention If you detect something early enough , you can prevent a lot of stuff , from prostate cancer to breast cancer to colon cancer , specifically colon . I just had a colonoscopy recently and they said well , you ain't got to come back for 10 years .

Speaker 1

Yeah , you're telling me that I went in there and they actually gave me what is it when you fall asleep ? Anesthesia , Anesthesia . I mean , they was probably all up in private parts and I don't , I ain't know , I ain't know . I woke up like , oh , is that it , Cool , I'm going home . You know not a big deal 10 years . You know statistically that I'm good for another 10 years I can go do that .

Speaker 1

I just want to encourage people like listen , find a doctor that knows what they're talking about . You need to go in for checkups once or twice and I will find a doctor similar to Dr Colbert , someone who will . There's blood work that you can have done . Then there's blood work you can have done Like we'd be having blood work done where they'd be checking stuff . You're like I didn't even know that was something that needs to be checked .

Speaker 2

Some of us are like like for me , I run low on B12 . I go every other month and get a B12 shot . If I don't , I tank out . But you need that for your body and you need a lot of .

Speaker 1

D3 to keep your immune system strong .

Speaker 2

You need a lot of D3 .

Speaker 1

You need a lot of D3 . And there's just , I think when you get blood work , so like okay . So genetically I'm challenged with high glucose , high cholesterol and my LH , l , little HP or whatever it is . This is this new cholesterol that they found it's really really dangerous on the arteries . Anyway , genetically I lean that way . Now I'm under the blood and I'm declaring that every family curse is broken over me . But I need to be in the know . So if that's a problem with me , I need to be checking that every six months , because I don't want to just end up with a heart attack or end up with a stroke Like I didn't know . No , I want to know .

Speaker 1

My levels are showing this , so I can go in every single time and he'll tell done , get your husbands , your wives , get your kids , make sure that we're looking just like you . Wouldn't drive a car around without ever looking at the gauges . You want to know when you're on E .

Speaker 2

Okay , that's all it means to go to the doctor , and so I don't know I feel like we're out of time for today .
