Episode 8: Martha Skinner
Welcome to Martha’s Studio! In this episode we discuss Martha’s many mediums of visual art and concept based work. Originally born in Colombia, Martha now resides in a small fairy tale looking town called Marshal in North Carolina. We discuss living in multiple places that are all vastly different, the role it plays intuitively in artwork, projects in these locations etc. A lot of Martha’s work is visually geometrical, but conceptually fluid based around the human form and documenting time. Originally an architect, Martha was always working as an artist on the side along with teaching, she is a busy busy body. I hope you enjoy this talk as we deep dive her concepts.
Note: This was filmed in January (actually one of the first round of episodes), so don't be triggered that winter was mentioned lol!
