If you have ever looked back on a hard season and thought, “I should not have made it through,” this message puts words to that experience and points to the source. We open with Proverbs 18:10 and the image of the Lord as a strong tower, then move into Psalm 124, where King David praises God for miraculous protection and deliverance. The central theme is plain and bold: the Lord is our help, and outside of Him we are far more vulnerable than we want to admit.
We read Psalm 124 and unpack its urgency: enemies ready to swallow, waters ready to overwhelm, a snare ready to trap. From there, we walk through three grounded takeaways for everyday Christian living and spiritual warfare: human beings are helpless outside God’s help, God’s providence is our safety, and hope is affirmed when we keep trusting the One who “made heaven and earth.” Along the way we connect John 15:5 on abiding in Christ, Philippians 4:13 on strength through Christ, and Proverbs 3:5 on refusing to lean only on our own understanding.
The message becomes personal and practical as we reflect on Psalm 124 as a “dear friend” in low moments, and we challenge the idea that having people on your side is enough. We close with focused prayer points for protection, defense, and victory, asking God to keep fighting for us and to renew our lives, including dealing with sin that threatens our relationship with Him. Welcome And Proverbs Strong Tower
SPEAKER_00Praise the Lord. Hallelujah. We welcome you to the hour of the word of our living God in the name of God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. The Holy Bible in the book of Proverbs, chapter 18, verse 10. Proverbs chapter 18, verse 10 says, The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run it into it and is safe. Our prayers is that our place of abode will not become a war front. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Opening Prayer For Protection
SPEAKER_00Let us pray. Our loving Father and our God, we worship you. We acknowledge your power, control and sovereignty over our lives. We are an extension of your bread and power. We are nothing without you. To crown it all, your love and kindness to us is our sustenance. Without you, we can do nothing. But with you and with your power in us, we are more than a conqueror. Thank you for this wonderful privilege, Lord. In your world today, please glorify your name. Show forth your presence that we will see you and appreciate your strength and love. Let this message transform our lives to appreciate and from now rely totally on you. Let every warfare around us become powerless. This and much more we ask through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ and Master. Amen.
Theme The Lord Is Our Help
SPEAKER_00The topic of our message is the Lord is our help.
Reading Psalm 124 Deliverance Song
SPEAKER_00We read verses 1 to 8. Psalm 124, verses 1 to 8. Now may Israel say, If it had not been the Lord who was on our side, when men rose up against us, then they had swallowed us up quick. When their wrath was kindled against us, then the waters had overwhelmed us. The stream had gone over our soul. Then the proud waters had gone over our soul. Blessed be the Lord, who had not given us a spray through their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers. The snare is broken, and we are escaped. Our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth. Hallelujah. Brethren, in the passage that we just read, King David appreciated God for his miraculous protection. He used the psalm as a song of praise. There are many instances, however, when our survival and deliverance depend entirely on him, not our own strength. No? This psalm is one of the songs of ascent for the Israelites, usually when they have festivals.
Three Lessons Helplessness Providence Hope
SPEAKER_00The main lesson from this psalm can be categorized into three sections. Number one, human beings are helpless outside God's help. We are helpless outside God's help. Without God, we could have been swept away like ants in a flood, or swallowed like insects by birds, or caged like a bird trapped in a fowler's snare. We must recognize that the only protection we have is God. The enemy looks at us always like a prey waiting to be consumed. Thank God for our solid protection who has not given us away as prey to the enemy. Jesus said in the book of John, chapter 15, verse 5. John 15, verse 5, that I am divine, ye are the branches. He that abideth in me, and I in him. The same bringeth forth much fruit. For without me, ye can do nothing. It is my prayers that we will keep abiding in God. This will save us from being taken as prey by the enemy in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. Number two, God's providence is our safety. God's providence is our safety. The difference between a baby's toy gun and the combatant soldier's gun is the power of his bullet and the training of the handler. God's power of protection in us is what has kept us alive. Imagine the wisdom God gave the hunter to kill a lion and kill the tiger. The providence of God in our safety is what makes the difference, not our power. Apostle Paul in his epistle to the Philippians, chapter 4, verse 13, Philippians 4 13, says through his experience, testify that I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me. He didn't say I can do many things, no, or I can do some things, no, but he can do all things. I pray that the strength and power of our living God to do all things will abide with us in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Number three, the affirmation of our hope in God. The affirmation of our hope in God. Our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth. It's a great statement that we must remember at every turn in our lives. In Proverbs chapter 3, verse 5. Proverbs 3 verse 5, the Bible says, Trust in the Lord with all thine heart. Lean not unto thy own understanding. Man may fail. Friends may turn to enemies. Promises made by man may be used to set up failure if we don't have God as our backup. God will always be God. He changes not. He has the will, the love, and the power to meet us at our needs. Hallelujah!
Why The Lord Must Be With You
SPEAKER_00I'm always excited. And I love Psalm 124. It is like a very dear friend to me. It has encouraged me and reassured me through some of the lowest moments in my life. I encourage you all to get familiar with this psalm, and I trust that it will become a dear friend to you too. The Psalm describes the great blessings of having the Lord on your side. You could have many people on your side and still be ruined. You could have mother, you can have your father for you, yet you still live in defeat and disaster. You could be very well liked and loved by many friends who want you to do well and still end up in hell, both figuratively and literally. The one who must be on your side always is the Lord. Only the Lord is capable of defending us against the forces that come against us. When the Lord is on our side, then we will never be given up to our enemies. God will vindicate us. We will enjoy glory, we will enjoy victory and enjoy safety. Hallelujah.
Guided Prayer Points For Victory
SPEAKER_00As we round up, I want us to pray this prayer point. Prayer number one. We say, My Father, my God, you are my God. I have no one aside you. Do not leave me to the will and the wishes of my enemies. Be my anchor and defense, Lord. Don't ever allow my enemy to triumph over me. Let your armor be sure and merciless over all those who battle me in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Prayer number two. My Father, my God, it is in your power and your will alone that I rely upon. Do not fail me, Lord. You are my secret. Let no one else around me say that there are anything above you. Father, please deflate their power and their boast. Let them know that they are nothing where you are. Use my life, Lord, to make a great statement that you are a consuming fire to my enemies. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Prayer number three. My Father, my God, you have never lost any battle. Please, Lord, grant me the grace of you fighting on my side. Keep fighting for me, Lord. Keep fighting all those who are gathered against me. Let the whole world worship you after witnessing my victories through you, Lord, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ. Amen. Congratulations, brethren. The God answers by fire has sealed our prayers with the power in his death and resurrection. Amen.

Closing Prayer Refuge Renewal Victory
SPEAKER_00Let us pray. God you are our refuge and strength, in very present help in trouble. We will not fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Thank you, Lord, for being such a great God and our refuge. Thank you for this ministration, which is so refreshing and a reminder of your great attributes. Our prayers, Lord, is that whatever has the potential to destroy our relationship with you, especially sin, please help us deal with it. All those who have never found out how you can be their defender, please today, Lord, open that opportunity of knowing and remaining with you for them. Satan and his agents, we never again take advantage of our ignorance of your power to have chief victory in our lives. We claim a fresh renewal of your power in our lives, Lord. We claim victory over every struggle and warfare. Let it be so, Lord, for we have prayed in Jesus' mighty name. Amen.
