In today's solo episode "Our Children Are Our Greatest Teachers", I reflect on my earlier life, and share a memory of being at High School, and unexpectedly crying in the middle of a class one day, unable to stop.'
Something deep inside me couldn't bear it anymore - the showing up every day, trying to fit in, conforming to what was expected of me, and I just couldn't hold it back anymore.
I see the same with one of my children, being in the first year of High School, and not being able to get out of the car some days and show up for it. I put a lot of this down to being highly sensitive, and trying to fit into a system that wasn't designed for us, and inherently goes against the way we're wired.
