Wherein should we return? John 1:1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Let us return to our first love, the word of God, so God may teach us what his words mean. For something to shine, there must be light, and that Light is Christ. (John 1:1-14)

Good evening, everyone. I'd like to welcome you to the Word of God by the branch of the Lord. Let's go to the Lord in prayer at this time. Precious Father God, we thank you for every opportunity, God, that you give us to go into thy word, Lord. And we know that that's each and every day, Lord. For thou hast said, give us this day our daily bread. So as we go into thy word, Lord, please increase our knowledge, wisdom, and understanding of your words, God, by your Spirit, Lord, the Holy Ghost to teach us that we may grow thereby and be a help in time of need. And we will give you all honor, glory, and praise, God, for you are worthy of it all. Amen and amen. Thank you, Jesus. Thank you, Jesus. We are in Psalm 67 this evening. So what we do is we go through and we read it because remember how the Lord brings out in 1 Corinthians 15, 47, uh, 46, excuse me, howbeit that which is first is not spiritual, but that which is natural and then that which is spiritual. So we want to go in, we want to uh read the chapter, we want to get familiar with it. We have a lot to discuss tonight, even in this short chapter of only seven scriptures. So Psalm 67, we will start with the heading and I will read through first, and then we will go back and begin to take a journey through the scriptures, searching out, like the Lord tells us to do, search the scriptures. Uh they're in John 5.39, so that uh we can learn what it is that God is really saying. To the chief musician on Neganoth, a psalm or song. So they're not the same. Some people say that psalms and songs are the same, but they're not. God be merciful unto us and bless us, and cause his face to shine upon us, Salah, that thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. Excuse me, let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for thou shalt judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon earth, Salah. Let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee. Then shall the earth yield her increase, and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. What a beautiful song and psalm. So going back to the heading to the chief musician, remember the musician, the chief musician is Jedathan. We looked this up in the scriptures, uh, and that's that is written that it is Neganoth. I mean uh Jedathan, excuse me. And Neganoth, uh, that is a music, uh, a piece of music on a stringed instrument. So, and remember about the psalm or song. We've gone over that before as well. Scripture one, God be merf merciful unto us and bless us, and cause his face to shine upon us. Salah. So, God, we know that his mercy endures forever. God is very merciful, but let us understand and know that God is not mocked. Um, for example, you cannot say, God, please forgive me and continue to keep doing what you're doing. Uh, so when you repent, that means to turn yourself. That means that you are making a commitment to God to quit doing the thing that God has shown you is not good, and you turn yourself back to God so that He can teach you by the Spirit of truth. All right. So uh for those of you, I just want you to understand, and I'm telling you this in love, who go down to the altar Sunday after Sunday and asking God to forgive you of the same old thing, you've got to take on strength. Uh, and we know the joy of the Lord is our strength in order to be able to put something away. So um remember this now. The joy of the Lord is your strength, and we know that his words is what gives us strength, the truth of God. So that's why Jesus tells us, listen what he tells us. He tells us to search the scriptures, he tells us to receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. He also tells us, once we understand what is a sin and what's not a sin, he says, go and sin no more. He also says, take up thy cross daily and follow me. And uh also in the Lord's Prayer, give us this day our daily bread. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So all these things you will learn as you go into the scriptures of truth. Remember, Daniel uh chapter 10, scripture 21 brings out that which is noted in the scripture of truth. That's what we want to find out from God. God wrote the book of life, man wrote the books of men, but God wrote the book of life. Keep that in mind. We want to go back to the true author of the spiritual things of God. All right, because God seeks to raise the people up. He does not seek for the people to be oppressed, he does not seek for the people to be in bondage and captivity, he does not seek for false prophets to come through and teach his people lies. And that's why he has told his people, his people now, the Christians, to come back to him. And he is the word of God, uh, as is written in St. John 1, Scripture 1. In the beginning was the word, the word was with God, and the word was God. So we want to, we know we're supposed to turn back to God, but we don't know how to do that. So remember that one scripture there. In the beginning was the word, the word was with God, and the word was God. So uh, and turning back to God, we're turning back to his word. Uh, and then as we go through and we read, like every day, every day that you wake up and you say, God, please help me. I do want to do better. I do want to offer a better sacrifice today than I did yesterday. I want to be a vessel of honor in your kingdom, God. Well, then uh if you mean what you say, then you're gonna find a way to perform that. And that way is Christ Jesus. He said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. So, and his name also is called the Word of God, uh, as is written in Revelation 19, 13. So when you go back to God's word and you begin reading every day, and I don't mean speed reading, I don't mean to read to pacify yourself. I mean really reading. Slow down, take your time. You're not in any kind of competition, you're not trying to impress the Father by how fast you can read. He would rather that you understand what you're reading than for you to read it very swiftly so that you can go on and do what you want to do. Uh, you know, I'm gonna keep it real with you now. So when you go in and read every day, take that time and take your time and just go through the scriptures, all right? If you come and have a notebook handy with a pen, that way if you come across something you don't know, and there's gonna be a lot of things you don't know that you're gonna come across, uh, we will always be learning in God's words, all right? So, but you want to write it down and make a footnote. Uh, God may put a word in your spirit, in your heart and mind, and uh for you to search out. You write that word down, you get the natural, natural definitions, and then you go and read all the scriptures. But I will tell you while you are searching the scriptures, uh, as is written in John 5.39, you will see other things and you'll be like, huh, what does that mean? And if you start searching that right then, you're gonna lose focus on what God asks you to search out. So just make yourself a footnote at the bottom of the page. Search this out, all right? Um, it is better that you do that and you will grow more swiftly in the Lord if you follow his lead. If you uh follow like years ago, I'll use myself as an example. I was very hungry in the Lord when God when God revealed himself to me and I knew it was God, and no man can ever tell me that there is not a true and living God because I have seen God, I have heard God. Um, and when He when He got my attention, uh, and I quit playing, I quit playing church, I quit playing uh being a Christian, and I got serious, it took some time because the first thing I had to do was repent and ask God to forgive me. And when I did that, uh, and I asked Him for the spirit of truth, the Holy Ghost, I said, God, I don't know anything. I don't understand, like I I'm a good reader and I understand big words and I can speak them, but to comprehend what God means by these things, I have no understanding. So I was praying, uh, God, please show me. And the only thing I knew to do was to keep going back to his word. It's like it's like every day, you know, if you don't eat food, you're gonna be hungry. Your body's gonna go lacking. Um some people get angry, some people get faint feeling. So we do make sure that we bathe every day, we make sure that we eat food every day, we take care of our natural body, but don't forget your inner man. So every day take some time and say, God, show me. Um and remember one of the scriptures that we read um the week before last in there in uh Psalm 66, uh in Scripture 16, the Lord is saying, Come and hear. He said, In one place, come and see, and in here he's saying, Come and hear. And faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. So your faith is increased. So that thing that you want to put away, you will begin to have strength. And when the devil brings it back to you and tries to tempt you into doing that thing that he knows you're weak in, you can say, No, not today, because God has given me strength over that. That is you overcoming. All right. And the only way you can overcome, brothers and sisters, is by the Holy Ghost. And that is the strength of the words of God in truth by the Holy Ghost given unto you. That is the only way you can overcome the things that you want to overcome so that you can be a vessel of honor unto God. So we pray God be merciful unto us. Show us a more excellent way to do things, Lord, according to your will. And uh God is merciful, He is very merciful. Uh, and uh, and there the next part of that says, and bless us. So people want to say that houses and cars and lots of money and job promotions are blessings. But blessings, that word is spiritual, brothers and sisters. Uh, there are great things that God gives unto us to make us happy, and he does provide our need according to all of his riches and glory. But to bless us is giving us of his spirit. That's a great blessing. That is a great blessing to know that God has forgiven you of your sins, to know that God uh loves you so much, and he wants you to come up out of the bondage and the captivity, he wants you to come up out of oppression, he wants you to come up out of depression, he wants you to come up out of carnal minded teachings and false prophets that lie to the people. He wants his people, it is the Father's good pleasure to give us the kingdom. That's how much God loves us. But see, we don't know it because we've been so bad. And when I say oppressed and bound, we are oppressed and bound by things below. Alright? So uh always take time every day to receive a blessing from the Lord. And that blessing it will be his it will be his spirit. He already sent his son. He gave us his son, he gave us his his word, not the books of men, his word. Those books of men will confuse you. Please, please pray about using those books. When God gave us a book and we haven't even mastered that book, why would we go looking at other books? All right? Uh God wrote the book of life. Um, I know there is a popular Bible that's being read now, and it's not a Bible, it's a book because it was written by man. It was translated by a man. Uh, and uh that man has a natural name. So it's not it's not God's, it's not the book of life that God wrote by holy men. So we want to be careful. We've got holy men who wrote the the book of life, and we've got uh men, no holy, just men that who wrote the books of men. So God um He wants us to understand what the truth is, but see, we have to want it. We have to go in uh and say, God, you know, we can say, God, show us the truth, but if you don't go in and begin to search it out, how will you know what the truth is? How can the the spirit of truth teach you what God's words mean if you don't apply yourself? Uh and a parable of that would be if you want to become a hairdresser, but you never go to school, you only ask other people uh, you know, how to do hair or how to cut hair. Maybe you know someone that knows how to cut hair, maybe you watch uh YouTube videos or uh or maybe you go to the library and check out books, but that doesn't give you the degree nor the experience. So it's the same with God's word. God gave us his word and he gave us the Holy Ghost to teach us his word. He never at any time sent us to someone else. He said, Look unto me, come unto me. In uh Psalm 34, scripture 11, he said, Come unto me, I will teach you the fear of the Lord. So I just want you to be encouraged with that. If you really want to know the truth, you have to go back to the correct source, and that source is the spirit of truth uh given to us as a blessing by God. All right, cause his face to shine upon us, all right? Uh remember our light shine. Uh, what what light is God speaking of here? Uh the light is Christ there in St. John, Scripture 1, or chapter 1. Uh new read verse scriptures 1 through 14, it would teach us that Christ is that light. Uh and a light is what shines. And uh when a light shines on your darkened understanding, like it did Nicodemus, then you're able to understand what it is God is saying. Like you're not gonna know uh when you go in and you read the words of God, you might understand some things, but there's gonna be a lot of things you're gonna say, I just don't get it. But if you close the book of life and you never ask God for the spirit of truth, you never will get it. All right? Don't give up on God. Don't give up on yourself. Take time. If you don't know what something is, search it out. And that's how easy it is. You don't have to go digging in the earth and you don't have to go digging in. What you do is you uh you look up that word and you get a good understanding naturally, and then you go into the strongest concordance and you begin looking up that word in the concordance and you get all the scriptures on it, and then you read what God says about that word. God gives an answer for every question you have right out of his word. You don't have to go digging in the books of men who are flesh. God is the spirit, the law is spiritual. So you can go right into the word of God and you can get an understanding. All right? Ask me how I know. I would not have known that if God had not showed it unto me years ago. And there are others that God has shown this unto uh because we have great conversations about the things out of God's word. Uh, you know, like there in Isaiah 118, where um Isaiah brings out, he says, Come and let us reason together in his word. He did never said to come let us reason together in the books of men. All right. I will never tell anyone to go to a book of man other than the dictionary and the strongest accordance. Uh, but I will always encourage the people of God to go back to his word, because that's what God told me in uh years ago. He said, You take my people back to my word. So uh that's between you and the Father, what you do with it, but uh that's what the Lord showed unto me. Uh when God began to show me um Deuteronomy 4, Scriptures 1 and 2, and uh Revelation 22, Scriptures 18 and 19. Uh, he brings out a great deal about uh not adding to or taking away from this book. So you can go into the strongest concordance on your phone or tablet computer and type in quotation, this book quotation, hit enter and read all the scriptures that God gives on this book, and it will give you a great understanding. This is how God blesses us, all right? Carnal-minded teachings do not bless you, they only make you more confused. Spiritual-minded teachings do bless you because they give you life. Remember, Jesus said the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life. And that's in John 6, Scripture 63. Now, back in Psalm here, we are in uh chapter 67 tonight, scripture two. It says, uh, well, I'm gonna read one and then two. God be merciful unto us and bless us and cause his face to shine upon us, Salah, that thy way may be known upon earth. Now remember what the way of God is. It's Jesus Christ, John 14, 6. He's the way, the truth, and the life. So that thy way may be known upon earth, upon earth, thy saving health among all nations. All right, so we want to look at this. This is so important. Sometimes I have to write things down to underline. All right, that thy way, so we know that's Jesus, who was the way, the truth, and the life, saving health among all nations. What did God send Jesus to do?
SPEAKER_00To seek and to save that which is lost, to teach the people the truth of God.
SPEAKER_01All right. Now, but we've got to listen to him. We know God sent his son. We know, we know John 3, 16. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son. Listen at this, whose name is called the Word of God. Revelation 19, 13. So God sent his only begotten son, whose name is called the Word of God, the saving health among all nations, but we say away with him because we want to run after the books of man. Who says that man has more authority, knowledge, wisdom, and understanding, more spirit, more power than God? Furthermore, now I want to I'm trying to sober us up in some of these things. Uh furthermore, Jesus is the only name under heaven given wherein a man can be saved. So understand that. Now, listen, he said his son, whose name is called the Word of God, and there's none other name under heaven given wherein a man can be saved.
SPEAKER_00Why do we continue to run to the books of men? Ask God about these things.
SPEAKER_01You don't have to take my word for it. You you have just as much right to the knowledge and understanding of God as I do. You have just as much, God loves all his children. He is no respecter of persons. You go to God and you say, God, please give me understanding on this matter. Because after all, you get one opportunity to get it right, and that is your season, your life, your lifespan. You get one chance. Time and chance happeneth to them all. Wouldn't you rather just ask God? Wouldn't you rather just go and pray in your closet like he tells us to do and ask God? He said, watch and pray. God, you show me God. God, you tell me what it is that I need to be doing because you are my king, you are my God, and you are Almighty, you are true, and you are living, and man is flesh. So, God, you show me so that I can be a vessel of honor for you in your kingdom. Now, God truly does love us. Thank you, Jesus. He truly does love us, and he is calling out to his people, and he is pleading with his people, and it's not a hard thing to do. It's one of the easiest things to do. You know, you sit at a table, and I want you to picture this. You're sitting at a table, and across from you is a loved one. Your husband, your wife, your uh, your child, your grandchild, whoever is a loved one. And you're sitting there and you're you're drinking coffee, tea, maybe eating some food, but you're laughing, you're talking, you're having a good time. You are having a conversation, you are loving that person, and that person is loving you in your conversation. And that's the way it is with God. When you go and you talk to your father, our father, he said, cast in all your care upon him, for he careth for you. You are having a conversation with God about your soul. And God is going to show you some things right out of the book of life that he gave for us. Uh, you know, people say life doesn't come with a manual. That's a lie. God gave us the book of life, that's our manual, that's our instructions to have life and in this life and in the life to come. It is our instructions so that we can put away sin.
unknownIt's our
SPEAKER_01Instructions so that we can have success in this life. It's our instructions on how to raise our children. There's many things. And God's word, guess what? It is a little book when you look at it this way. Some people say that's a big book. It's the biggest, littlest book there is because everything that we need to know about having a good life is right here in the book of life. The books of men are not going to teach you that. They're going to take words and give you the natural definition. You can look that up yourself. But you have to go back into God's word. Romans 7.14 reads that the law is spiritual. John 4.24, God is a spirit, and they that worship him must. He's not giving us an option there. We must worship him in spirit and in truth. So that we can have now listen, that's how we're saved. We're saved from lies. We're saved from the flesh, the works of the flesh. We're saved from the deceit of the devil. We're saved from ourselves a lot of times. Alright? So Jesus, he's the way. His name is called the Word of God, and He is the saving health among all nations. Not everybody wants him, though. People say I love Jesus, whose name is called the Word of God, but they leave him and run to the books of men. You know I'm gonna keep it real with you. Alright? Listen at Psalm 10720. We should be able to quote this scripture by now because it's one of my favorite, and I do, the Lord blesses me to bring it out a lot. He sent his word. Now listen, the way he sent his son, and his name is called the Word of God, so he sent his word and healed them. Why? Because he's the saving help among all the nations and delivered them from their destructions. See, people don't know what they're doing. They lean to their own understanding, and I'm speaking chiefly of myself. Back before uh the Lord got my attention, and I've come to realize that if I do something on my own, it might not turn out very good. So uh especially with a big decision, you want to always take it to the Father and say, God, what should I do here? Why? Because God is all knowing, He's omnipotent, and He can see up the road we cannot. All right. Uh also in Hebrews 5, Scriptures 12 through 14, for when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again, you must be born again, which be the first principles of the oracles, holy words, the oracles of God, and are become as such as have need of milk. Now uh remember we've had a lesson on this before. Uh a newborn baby in the natural, they have to have milk. You cannot stuff meat in a newborn's mouth. They will choke to death and die. Uh, it's the same spiritually, uh, the milk of the word. Desire ye the sincere milk of the word that ye may grow thereby. So that's why we always read a chapter before we go back into it and begin to take a journey through the scriptures and bringing in other uh things dealing with the same matters so we can get a greater understanding. Because we want the milk of the word, and then we want to get some of that bread so we can grow. It says not of strong meat. So uh strong meat is a deep understanding. Sometimes uh I will I will warn you ahead of time if I throw a piece of steak upon the table spiritually, uh, which it means a greater understanding. But I try to keep it at a level according to the scriptures where uh newborn babes can understand these things, all right? Because you have to grow. The biggest thing as a newborn baby, and there is no shame in that. I uh whosoever you be that might think, well, I'm 65 and I'm just now getting to the point where uh I know there's more to God's word than what I've always been taught. There's no shame in that. Because now uh you are beginning to realize that there's more to God's word than what we've always been taught. So there's more, there's more spiritually there, there's more understanding, there's more wisdom and knowledge there than just a natural story, all right? Than natural history. There's more there. It's spiritual. And you're coming to that understanding, so it's like, oh, okay. So God, I need to go in and read some of these things. Get familiar with God's word. Uh when you uh sign a contract to buy a big purchase, you read it. A lot of times you think, well, I don't know what this really means. I need to go get a lawyer. Now, Judea is the lawgivers of according to God. And we've got lawyers in the natural uh that will bring forth what something means. What the lawgivers of God also take the people through the scriptures and try to uh show them what the words of God mean by the scriptures, not by their own thoughts and opinions. I won't do that. Uh we will go into the scriptures and see what God says about it. And that's the thing. Uh, what does God say about it? Now remember uh Jeremiah 23, Scripture 35. It's also in Scripture 37. It says, What hath the Lord answered and what hath the Lord spoken? So when you're searching and you come or you're just reading, maybe you just want to take a nice, relaxing day and sit out on the Lanai on a sun, you know, on a lounge chair, let the sun beat on you, and read some, and you come across something and you're like, huh, I've never seen it that way before. Well, take your phone and make yourself a note. You can talk into your phone, send yourself a text. Uh, so that when you go back in the house, you can search it out. But you were just getting familiar with the scriptures, but you did see something that you would like to go back in and search out further. All right. It says, and are become such as have need of milk and not of strong meat. For everyone that useth milk, a newborn babe, is unskillful in the word of righteousness. Now, let's not confuse a natural newborn from a spiritual newborn. A natural newborn, we know uh they are born into this world at nine months, but a spiritual newborn is born uh unto God when they receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. Because at that present time, God's going to begin to put new in them. He's gonna begin to teach them what he said about things. Uh see, we were all born into sin, we've all sinned, and we've all come short of God's glory. Well, what does that mean? Well, we were born into carnal-minded teachings. All right. Sin is the transgression of the law. So there comes a point, and maybe you've gone to church your whole life, all right? Uh, and you have read scriptures, you know about the parables of Jesus, you know about Noah, you know, but understand it's spiritual. Now, uh, I had someone, I've had a couple people come up and ask me what does that mean? Uh, what does it mean spiritual? Because I thought the scriptures were spiritual. Now, the law is spiritual. But see, the only way you can understand what God, who is a spirit, means by what he says is to have the spirit of truth. And only God can give you that. You will not be able to understand uh the holy oracles of God without the spirit of truth. But it takes time. And see, that's the part right there. Uh remember in uh John uh chapter 3 and read verse uh scriptures 1 through 7. Nicodemus, he was a ruler of the Jews, and he came to Jesus by night. It means he did not have any understanding. But listen, he was a ruler of the Jews. And when uh you look up Jews uh in the scripture, and uh I believe it's in the book of Romans, it'll bring out that a Jew is one inwardly, not outwardly. So we're not talking about outward Jews, Jewish people. We're talking about the people of God, all right? A true Hebrew. Uh, and that's what Jesus is, all right, which is one inwardly. And that's how the scriptures uh so write that down if you don't have an understanding of that. Write down Jew and inwardly and go into the strongest concordance on your phone and look it up, find the scripture where it's written and go in and read that. All right, so so then he was a ruler of the Jews, so he knew the letter. He knew from Genesis to Revelation, but he didn't understand uh the spiritual understanding behind the words. So he was not a Jew inwardly, he was he was a ruler of the Jews outwardly, the Christian people. And he came to Jesus by night, same way we come to Jesus. We came to Jesus with in in darkness because we didn't understand. I've always loved God. Uh did I always do what I was supposed to? No, but God got my attention at 28. Uh, and that's when I that was my true birth. That's when I um uh decided I really wanted to be born again. I really wanted to know the truth of things. That's when God got my attention. And like I said, I know uh nobody can ever tell me otherwise that there's not a true and living God, because there is. Uh because I've heard him and I've seen him face to face. So I know uh what the things of God is that he's bringing out. So so then uh, but it takes time. Now, like a newborn babe has to have milk and they have to have bread, and then they get to an age where they can have a little baby food, different things, their the nutrients increase. Uh, it's the same spiritually. So you have to go in, you have to start out by going back to God's word, the milk of the word, and begin reading. And that's when that's when your faith starts being increased because you begin to learn what God is saying, don't do, and what he's saying to do. Uh, there'll be things you don't understand. You make a footnote of it, you can search it out and ask God if it be his will to give you the understanding. So it says, for everyone that useth milk is unskillful in the word of righteousness. Now that um the newborn babe, once again, is at nine months, uh most of the time. Sometimes, you know, a mother might have a child at eight months or eight and a half months, and boy, I carried my daughter for nine months and three weeks. So um, but that's natural. But then you've got a spiritual newborn. They could be eight years old, they could be 95 years old. As whatever you came to God knowing that you needed to be born again because you came to Jesus by night, you didn't have any understanding, but you knew there was more to God's word than what you'd always been told. All right? It says, for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age. Just because you know the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation does not make you full age. It does not make you an elder, it does not make you a pastor, it does not make you a prophet, it does not make you an evangelist, and it does not make you all these other titles that people like to put on themselves. All right? A child can memorize scriptures, remember that. A child can come up to you and say, Well, I've read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation. A child can do that. So uh it's good if you know from Genesis to Revelation, but now what? So you know it all? No. Paul said, I have not counted myself to have apprehended anything, but this one thing I do know, I press for the mark of the high calling in Christ Jesus. So we might know the scriptures from Genesis to Revelation, and that's a good start. But don't stop there. God, the law is spiritual. God, you're a spirit. And God, if it be your will, I want the spirit of truth, which is the Holy Ghost, to come into my heart and in my mind and abide with me and me and Him and Him teach me what your words truly mean. Now that's the prayer that the people can pray. And when the people do this and they go every day back to the Word of God to read and to study, then God will begin to show them little things here and there. You know, people say the light bulb goes off. Uh, you receive a revelation, you receive vision visions of things, uh, you receive an understanding. Uh 1 Corinthians 3 brings out that Paul planted Apollos water, but God gave the increase. So even me sitting here uh and trying to lead the people back to the Word of God and uh and understanding, just like Jesus said, receive you the Holy Ghost, uh, as God is going to give you the increase. So you might sit there and hear some things that you've never heard before. And Isaiah very uh prophesied of that. He said, You will see things you've not seen, you will hear things you've not heard. And God also said in the book of Isaiah, Behold, I do a new thing. So we can either hang on to that old thing and uh exit this life, never come into the knowledge of the truth, only knowing the scriptures, or we can say, wait a minute, God did say he was doing a new thing, and we can go in and search out what that new thing is. So it says, For he is a babe, but strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil. Now let's look at Acts 27. Don't lose your place there though. Uh Acts 27, because we want to look at what strong meat does. And uh I read this years ago and it just tickled me so good. Um Acts is right before Romans. So you have Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Acts, and we're gonna look at chapter 27. We're gonna read Scriptures one through twelve so that we understand what's taking place. Acts twenty-seven, scripture one. And when it was determined that we should sail into Italy, they delivered Paul and certain other prisoners unto one named Julius, a centurion of Augustus' band. And entering into a ship of Adramidium, we launched, meaning to sail by the coast of Asia, one Aristracus, a Macedonian of Thessalonica, being with us. And the next day we touched at Sidon, and Julius courteously entreated Paul and gave him liberty to go unto his friends to refresh himself. And when we had launched from thence we sailed under Cyprus because the winds were contrary. And when we had sailed over the sea of Cilicia and Pamphylia, we came to Myra, a city of Lycia, and there the centurion found a ship of Alexandria sailing into Italy, and he put us therein. So he's in a ship sailing into Italy. And when we had sailed slowly many days and scarce were come over against Nidas, the wind was suffering us, excuse me, the wind was not suffering us, we sailed unto Crete under Crete, over against Salmon, and hardly passing it came unto a place which is called the Fair Havens. Nigh whereunto was the city of Lacia. Now when much time was spent and when sailing was now dangerous, because the fast was now already passed, Paul admonished them. He gave them words to help them come up, and said unto them, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will now listen what Paul is telling them, and they're on a ship sailing to it through Italy, says, Sirs, I perceive that this voyage will be with her and much damage, not only of the lading and ship, but also of our lives. Nevertheless the centurion believed the master and the owner of the ship more than those things which were spoken by Paul. Now turn over to Scripture twenty-one in that same chapter page sticking together. It says, But after long abstinence, Paul stood forth in the midst of them and says, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me, so they did not listen unto uh and and then we just read that there in uh scripture twelve, where they listened to the owner of the ship more than uh a man of God. It says, But after long abstinence, Paul stood forth in the midst of them and says, Sirs, ye should have hearkened unto me and not have loosed from Crete, and to have gained this harm and loss. And now I exhort you to be of good cheer, for there shall be no loss of any man's life among you but of the ship. So the ship is lost, but there will not be any man's loss. For there stood by me this night the angel of God whose I am Oh I love that, and whom I serve, saying, Fear not, Paul, thou must be brought before Caesar, and lo God hath given thee all them that sail with thee.
SPEAKER_00Now when you go over to um let me see, where is that scripture at? Bear with me just for a minute here.
SPEAKER_01Uh scripture thirty-three. So let me get my little that same chapter there. We're gonna look at Scripture 33 and while the day was coming on, Paul besought them all to take meat. Now we were just reading about the meat in Hebrews, saying, This day is the fourteenth day that ye have tarried and continued fasting, having taken nothing. Wherefore I pray you to take some meat. Why? For this is for your health. For there shall not an hair fall from the head of any of you. And when he had thus spoken he took bread and gave thanks to God in presence of them all. Jesus said, I am the bread. The spiritual now, not we're not talking about Merida. We're not talking about uh that natural bread where you make sandwiches out of it, we're talking about the bread of life. He said, I am the bread of life. So it says, and he gave thanks to God in presence of them all, and when he had broken it, which meant he began to give understanding, he was breaking it down where the people could understand it, he began to eat. Then were they all of good cheer, and they also took some meat. Now this takes time, so you have to have the milk, then the bread, then you can start receiving some meat. But remember the meat is for the health. So I'm adding that to our notes, Scriptures 30 3 through 37. Now uh let's go to Proverbs 3. And if uh for those of you who uh watched the Bible class from Pleasant Hill last Wednesday, we uh the Lord brought out through our brother there uh chapters one, two, and three, and Lord willing this Wednesday we will look at chapter four. But Proverbs chapter three, uh we're gonna read scriptures one through eight. Proverbs three, one through eight. My son forget not my law, but let thine heart keep my commandments. So we forget his law when we look to the books of men. All right, understand that. For length of days and long life and peace shall they add to thee. The books of men add carnal minded thoughts to you. Let not mercy and truth forsake thee, bind them about thy neck, write them upon the table of thine heart. So shalt thou find favor and good understanding in the sight of God and man. Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy path. Alright? Be not wise in thine own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. It shall be health to thy navel and morrow to thy bones. And if you know what morrow is in the bone, there is a lot of nutrients in the morrow of the bone for the body. So it shall be health. Uh now when we look at chapter four, let's look at scriptures twenty through twenty-two. See, we're taking a journey through the scriptures. We're not just staying in Psalm 67. We went all the way over to Acts. Uh we read in Psalm 107, we read in Hebrews 5. Uh now we're back in Proverbs, uh, and we're gonna look at chapter 4. And uh Lord Winnow, we'll go over this again on uh Wednesday night in this particular chapter. But Scripture 20, my son, attend to my words, incline thine ear into my sayings. You see what God is telling us? He's never once told us to go look in the books of men. The devil does that. The devil, it is the whole the devil's whole purpose is to draw the people of God away from God's word. My son, attend to my words, incline thine ear into my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes, keep them in the midst of thine heart, for they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. All right. So we want to be healthy in the Lord spiritually. Now let's look at chapter twelve of Proverbs.
SPEAKER_00Back in twenty twenty three, the Lord blessed there to be um uh Thursday nights, I believe it.
SPEAKER_01Thursday night. It was Thursday night. We had a teaching on the book of Proverbs. So if you go back into Spotify Deezer and IHERT Radio, you can find those on that podcast, The Word of God by the Branch of the Lord, you can find those teachings, and it's all about the book of Proverbs. Chapter 12, we're going to read Scripture 18. Says, There is that speaketh like the piercings of a sword, but the tongue of the wise is health. All right, the tongue of the wise. You have to have uh remember God will give to all men uh liberally when they ask for wisdom. He will not upbraid them for asking for wisdom. And then if you turn the page to chapter 13, let's look at scripture 17. A wicked messenger falleth into mischief, but a faithful ambassador is health. An ambassador is one who keeps peace. Proverbs 16 24. Pleasant words are as hunt uh are as an honeycomb, sweet to the soul and health to the bones. So it tells you what honey's good for, health to the bones. All right. Jeremiah 30, 17, for I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds. Now remember back in Psalm 107, 20, he sent his word and healed them. So if you want to be healed spiritually, well, if you want to be healed naturally, you go to a physician. If you want to be healed spiritually, you go to the great physician. All right? So he sent his word and healed them and delivered them from their destruction. But here in Jeremiah 30, 17, for I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the Lord, because they called thee an outcast, saying, This is Zion, whom no man seeketh after. Then Jeremiah 33, six, behold, I will bring it health and cure, and I will cure them, cure them, and will reveal unto them the abundance of peace and truth. You see how the people are saved and cured? Alright? Because of his word. Now back in Psalm sixty seven, Scripture three, let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee. O let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for thou shalt judge the people righteously and govern the nations upon earth. Salah. Remember, uh we're gonna turn to Isaiah 9, but remember that God is king of all the earth, and he is governor among the nations.
SPEAKER_00Isaiah. So we need to not turn back, but to turn forward.
SPEAKER_01Isaiah 9, and we're gonna look at Scriptures 6 and 7 here, because we need to understand, just like we have a government, uh a natural government, um, and we were talking about Caesar, Sunday at Sunday school, uh, you know, render unto Caesar, therefore, the things that be of Caesar, and unto God the things that be of God. So we um we render unto the government of man taxes and the things due unto man, but we forget to render the things unto God. And God has sent his son, who is uh Christ, who is the government of God. All right. Uh don't take my word for it. Please search that out. You have a government as a Christian, a spiritual government. Uh Psalm 9, 6. For unto us a child is born, we just celebrated uh uh the birth of our Lord and Savior, or not the birth, I'm sorry, but the uh where he is risen from the dead. We just celebrated that. We know he is come. 1 John 5 and 20, he Christ is come and hath given us an understanding. So for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given. We know that God sent his only begotten son into the world. It says, and the government shall be upon his shoulder. So the people of God have a spiritual government, and his name shall be called wonderful. Listen at all these beautiful names. These names are just not beautiful names, but they are the meanings. Listen at the meaning behind them. This is Christ Jesus we're talking about. This is the government of God. His name shall be called wonderful, counselor, the mighty God, the everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace, there shall be no end. Alright, but where man's governments fail most of the time because they leave off following the Lord God, God's government will never fail. They tried to stop it. God raised him from the dead, and he is alive forevermore. End of story. Of the increase of his government at peace there shall be no end upon the throne of David and upon his kingdom to order it and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. See even man took the pledge of allegiance, that part there out of right here. It says the zeal of the Lord of hosts will perform this. And he did that because when you go into Matthew 1, Scripture 1, it says the book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the Son of Abraham, the Son of David. All right, who is the Son of God, the Savior of the whole world, and he is the government of God. So back in Psalm 67, Scripture 5, let the people praise thee, O God, let all the people praise thee. He said, uh God said, He said, Now they will reverence my son. Then shall the earth yield her increase, and God, even our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth shall fear him. So this is health restored, all the ends of the earth shall fear him. So um that's my prayer uh for all my brothers and my sisters. Listen at this. This is my prayer for every one of my brothers and sisters. And that's in uh 3 John chapter 1, Scripture 2. Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health even as thy soul prospereth. That is my prayer and my desire for my brothers and sisters this night. In um our closing prayer tonight, I want you to bow your heads with me, but I'm gonna read uh some scriptures that the Lord gave concerning uh praying for things that are very important. Give ear, O shepherd of Israel, turn us again, O God, and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. O Lord God of hosts, how long will thou be angry against the prayer of thy people? Thou feedest them with the bread of tears and givest them tears to drink in great measure. Thou makest us a strife unto our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves. Turn us again, O God of hosts I love this.
SPEAKER_00Turn us again, O God of host and cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved. Thou hast brought a vine out of Egypt.
SPEAKER_01Jesus said, I am the vine, yeah, the branches. Thou hast cast out the heathen and planted it. Return, we beseech thee, O God of hosts.
SPEAKER_00Look down from heaven and behold and visit this vine.
SPEAKER_01And the vineyard which thy right hand hath planted, and the branch that thou madeest strong for thyself. Let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand, upon the Son of Man, whom thou madeest strong for thyself. So will not we go back from thee. Quicken us, and we will call upon thy name. Turn us again, O Lord God of hosts. Cause thy face to shine, and we shall be saved.
SPEAKER_00Amen and amen. Thank you, Father. Be blessed this night.
