Speaker 1:

I'm doing great, good, good, good. I'm glad you could spend some time with me on Gentry's journey this afternoon. I have a few questions for you, but first of all, we always open up with a prayer, okay?

Speaker 3:

Perfect.

Speaker 1:

Let me follow. Lord, god, we just thank you for this opportunity. For God's sake, thank you for the families that are represented here today. Let's submit the point of your need, but we know that you're all knowing, you are all in all. You got all by yourself. Lord, these are other things. We ask you your son, jesus name, amen.

Speaker 3:

Amen.

Speaker 1:

Okay, well, go ahead. You know, I know you and it's Niko, so that's why I'm going to change the game. I can't change the game, okay, yes, ma'am, all right, so just go ahead and introduce yourself, and then we're going to have a song. Okay, great.

Speaker 3:

So I am Cornika Murray. I am a healthcare professional of 20 years. A lot of people don't know that about me. I'm also a wife and mother of two young boys. I'm also a lover of football and all things wellness, and so I'm the owner of QID wellness and Queens of Yenny detox. Queens of Yenny detox is a business that I started in 2019. So right before the pandemic, and QID wellness is a backspin of Queens of Yenny detox, which opened in August of 2022. So that's most of everything about me Love people, love family, love the travel. That's me, cornika Murray.

Speaker 1:

That sounds great. Well, niko, we're going to play a song and then we'll start with the questions.

Speaker 3:

Okay, Sounds great Okay.

Speaker 4:

Oh, is it just because I'm black and heavy? I don't hear me, though. I've been the same since I've been driving slow on business. Call up anybody I know and they will tell you that Fame is pretty new, but I've been used to people judging me. That's why I moved away. I moved around, so in love with me.

Speaker 4:

I'm used to feeling hollow, so I thought that I'd let you know, in case nobody told you today your special. In case nobody made you believe your special. I will always love you the same, your special. I'm so glad that you're still with us Broken, but damn, you're still perfect, special. Could you imagine a world where everybody's the same and you could cancel a girl cause she just wanted to change? How could you throw stones if you ain't been through a pain? That's why we feel so alone. That's why we feel so ashamed. I'm used to feeling hollow, so I thought that I'd let you know, in case nobody told you today your special. In case nobody made you believe your special. I will always love you the same, your special. I'm so glad that you're still with us Broken, but, damn, you're still perfect. I know that I'm not alone, so I thought that I'd let you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. In case nobody told you today your special, in case nobody made you believe your special, I will always love you the same, your special.

Speaker 1:

I'm so glad that you're still with us Broken, but damn, you're still perfect, your special. You are, you are, you are so special. Hey, okay, nathan.

Speaker 3:

Yes, ma'am, I'm here.

Speaker 1:

What you think about special. I think you're special, I think we're all special. You have that special, that special smile. What you think about this, on that one Thank you, I appreciate it. Okay, can you share your personal journey on starting your own business and what inspired you to take that leap?

Speaker 3:

So my initial business which I started to do, I've been doing, I've been doing many of these things all the time, so I started to take a few of these, but I've never done it. I've never done it. I've never seen any detox actually started through pain and so I'm actually a survivor in fertility.

Speaker 3:

We I was married for about five years and we tried to conceive for about two years. So after those two years we decided to see a fertility specialist and so we went to Alabama for two to two specialists and we ended up conceiving Joshua, probably in about six months, through in vitro fertilization, artificial assimilation. And so after that journey I knew I didn't want Joshua to be an early child, but I knew that I did want to take my body, my mind, my soul, my husband. We did want to go through that again, that journey. For the most part we did it by ourselves. Our family didn't know, a lot of our friends didn't know we were going through either.

Speaker 3:

And so we decided well, I decided that I was going to start researching things to do so that we can conceive naturally. And so I started researching herbs and started getting to herbal treatments, herbal medications, herbal steams, different things like that, and that was just my passion. I wanted to conceive naturally. And five years later we conceived Jacob On our own. Just popped up hey, what's going on? I don't feel too well, took a pregnancy test and I was pregnant. And so that's my journey. That's how I got into herbal medications, herbal treatments, out things herbal, and so, queens of Yenny detox was fun for my pain with infertility Okay.

Speaker 1:

Now that, truly, you did keep that to yourself, which is fine. I'm down for people being transparent when they feel it's always time to be transparent. Now will we walk in together when you conceive your approach.

Speaker 3:

No, we wouldn't. Well, I was at Brookwood when I conceived Joshua. I conceived Joshua in 2012. I don't know if I knew you then, but when I was at Medical West, that's when Jacob was conceived.

Speaker 1:

Nope, we knew each other from Brookwood.

Speaker 3:

Okay.

Speaker 1:

Yeah, and I was like, oh, look at you. And you were like, yeah, and I'm like that's how. I was really happy for you. That's wonderful, that's absolutely wonderful. Now, with the journey and the pain and the struggle of in vitro, we don't really have to get into it. You can, you know, tell your story the way you want to tell it, because no one can tell it better than you. What are some of the key considerations you took in turning your business idea into a reality? I know it has something to do with your in vitro, with your infertility. So you said you researched some herbs. So what made you decide what's going to take this all the way?

Speaker 3:

What made me decide to take the leap of faith was that I realized that it was things that actually worked, things that actually helped heal the body. Of course, I'm a healthcare professional, so, yes, I truly do believe in science, but I still believe that there's herbal remedies and herbs that help heal the body as well, help the body to be more well, and so that's what made me just take the leap. I decided that I wanted other people to know about the herbs and different things that they could do in order, so we could all be well, and so I decided, in December of 2019, to just take the faith, the leap of faith, and I started as an online business, just website-based, home-based and so that's what I did. I shipped customers to ship to customers all over the world, as far as Hawaii, started with a little small Facebook group of about 500 people, and it just grew from there. Word of mouth just grew from there. So even now, a lot of my customers are Ohio, texas, washington state, just all over the country. That's great.

Speaker 1:

That's great, nika. I love hearing all of that. You have to start somewhere and one thing you have to do is just put your feet to the ground, one step at a time. That journey of a thousand miles truly begins with one step, and that you took. What are some common challenges that you face, especially being a similar new entrepreneur when you would decide to move into a brick and mortar building?

Speaker 3:

Just moving into a brick and mortar building. My challenge is word of mouth. It's kind of like starting all over again. So initially, when I started, I started word of mouth, word travel, fast. Friends, family, coworkers began that conversation, and so that was the easy bunch. So here I am four years later well, three years later, since we opened August of last year and it's like starting all over again. Because it's a local business, a lot of my customers were not local and so I began to kind of build all over. So my challenge now is more just getting the name out there, the name of QID Wellness, the name of the brick and mortar location, the services that we do render, the fact that we're not just a feminine health and wellness business but we offer products for the entire family. And so that's my challenge these days. I'm beginning to face it head on and just getting out here and doing things like this, having these conversations and making sure that people know what QID Wellness really is and what we stand for.

Speaker 1:

Okay, and you're definitely going to. You can put your information in the chat, you know, and I will give you opportunity towards the end, for whenever you want, to display your website, your mailing address and things of that nature. Okay, okay, that's part of what this show is all about. When you expose your own platform that you probably would not have had an opportunity to do, or in addition to doing additional platforms, okay, okay.

Speaker 3:

And I thank you for the opportunity.

Speaker 1:

Oh, you're more than welcome. You're more than welcome. I wanted to reach out to you. That's exactly it. I wanted to reach out to you. I'm like, hey, this is one way that she can get her business some recognition. Okay, now with the website, you still have that open and operational, correct, correct, okay, and so you just transition to brick and mortar, so you have both going Okay, which really you can't let anything go when you're still trying to build your business.

Speaker 3:

Of course.

Speaker 1:

Okay, so how crucial is effective branding and marketing for a new business?

Speaker 3:

My strategy, especially here recently, is to become totally me. A lot of people just know the business or just know business names, but they don't know the person that stands behind the business, and so people who generally know me know that I'm a people person. I absolutely love to laugh, I love all things football and I like taking care of people. So people who know me know those things. So my purpose now, especially recently, is beginning to allow everyone to see that. All my customers, all those people who are interested in the QID wellness brand to see who I am Now just see the products, but the face behind the product.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that's good. Okay With that, we're going to put another song, okay.

Speaker 3:

Perfect.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, so you want to know what you are and what products you have heard. If you do do something. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, freconds you go are standing outside. This one is wild. This one is wild. Oh, it's hot all night. Now it's parted so far. Now starts the craft of the fire. I know you've got a little life in you there. I know you've got a lot of strength in you. I know you've got a little life in you there. I know you've got a lot of strength in you.

Speaker 4:

I should be crying, but I just can't let it show. I should be you from behind, can't stop thinking For all the things we should have said that we never said, for all the things we should have done that we never did, for all the things we should have given, but I didn't. Oh, don't, let me make it go, make it go away. Give me some of this. Give it back to me. Give me a little kiss. Give me a little kiss. Give me a little hand. Give me a little hand. Give me that pretty hand. I'll show you how I understand my love child. Whatever you want me to do, give me your hand. Give me your hand.

Speaker 4:

Oh, should be crying, but I just can't let it go. Should be hoping, but I can't stop Thinking, thinking, thinking For all the things we should have said that we never said, for all the things we should have done that we never did. All the things that you wanted from me, all the things that you needed from me, all the things that you didn't give me. But I didn't want to make it go. Just make it go away, okay.

Speaker 1:

Nika. What are some different sources of funding available for new businesses?

Speaker 3:

To be honest, funding for new businesses is primarily available through building your business credit, and so building my business credit was one of those things that I did in the beginning of the Queens Atlanta Detox brand, and so once I started building a business from there, it was kind of like a I wouldn't say shoe in, but it was kind of one of those things that I just tried. I just worked hard and tried to figure out on my own, to be totally honest, and so that's my goal now to work towards creating that platform for other business owners so that I can teach and educate them about building business credit as well.

Speaker 1:

Okay, nika. Someone asks if you would repeat the name of your business again.

Speaker 3:

The name of my business. The storefront is QID wellness online businesses. Queens of Yanni detox.

Speaker 1:

Okay, that's great and that is great. So, when it comes to technology, what role does technology play in starting and growing a new business, and are there any specific tools or platforms that you recommend?

Speaker 3:

Technology speaking, like I said, I started my business as a website based business, and so it was important to know people who were able to start my website for me, because that's something I'm not getting. So they were able to start my website for me and, of course, push me into social media. A lot, of, a lot, of people also don't know that I'm not a social media person. Country popular belief. I don't really like social media for lack of better terms, and so social media for me in terms of business, though, has been a game changer, because once I came into social news one of those things that once again just travel the group grew to 4300 members, and so it was one of those things that technology, social media, been able to have that outlet just help my business to grow so much.

Speaker 1:

Well, we all know I'm not take savvy, I'm getting there. I'm getting there slowly. We're, you know, some of us, have been forced to do it because of our, our careers, our career choices. You know everything is going computer, everything is going. Take savvy, everything is, you know, trying to move away from paper. But when you're trying to campaign, announce, do different things, social media is your, is a great driving force because when you see the politicians using it, it's got to be something to it.

Speaker 3:

Exactly.

Speaker 1:

Okay, okay, so, and I get that there are a lot of people who like to keep their like private, but when it comes to business or notifications or certain things, yeah, social media is the way to go. And I have run into a lot of people who have products or they want their business to grow or their platform to grow, but they don't want to be a part of social media and ask me what do I do? I'm not the one to ask, because I would think social media would be the best platform for you. How else will people know? Excuse me, it's not just about family and friends and coworkers, it is about people who don't know you. That's where you know you will get that. Yeah, family and friends, they're going to hold you up. You know to a degree, but still, you want that. You want that.

Speaker 1:

Like you said, you're in Hawaii. I mean, I have clients in Hawaii as well, so you know the time zone there is so very different than what we're accustomed to. I mean, I can't contact them verbally. Okay, when I contact them verbally. So, yes, and Alaska is another one that's out there, you know. Yes, you can have clients everywhere. You can have them internationally. So, yeah, social media. It's definitely if it wasn't for that and we can't be sending postcards and letters to everybody. We can.

Speaker 3:

We can, we would love to. I'm just saying it though, carolyn, I'm still that person who I see in my customers packages a lot of times. I send just hey, I'm proud of you cars, hey, I see you cars. I still do that, and I don't know if this is the country girl in me, but yeah, I still do that too. So I kind of mix it up a little bit.

Speaker 1:

Well, I'm the same way. When I go to a book fair and people purchase a book, I usually have some thank you cards either inside the book or inside the bag that I am putting the place in the book in. So I'm with you. I still send, sent to the cars birthday car. I still do that type of thing because, yes, and that personal touch to me means just a little bit more. And this is just me speaking, okay, this is just me thinking, but I agree with you, you know, and people like, oh, what else is in here? And they pull out that and they're with the car. Oh no, how sweet, you know. So that does get your attention. So, yeah, I would, I would keep that up, I wouldn't change that for anything. Okay, now for the next question. How can entrepreneurs build a strong network and find mentors who can guide them into their entrepreneurial journey?

Speaker 3:

The main thing I would always say is don't be afraid to ask, and that's the main thing get out there, make sure that you're networking with like minded people and don't be afraid to ask for help if it's something that you need, if it's something that you see they're doing, that you're doing and starting to do or you want to learn more about, just ask those questions. And so that's the good thing about social media that I will say that you're able to look at people and see what's going on, and see what they're doing and see if they're doing some some things that you may be interested in doing. And so collaboration is the key, consistency is the key, and so just consistently being out there and collaborating with like minded people.

Speaker 1:

And that's great, and I agree with you totally. I like to hear people, I like to have a verbal conversation with people is what I'm trying to say. It is OK to take, it is OK to email, but when we're talking about a joint collaboration or something of that nature, I want to hear your voice. I don't want to hear a robot. I want to hear you because I want to get an authentic take on who you are, who you say you're going to be and things of that nature and what you're going to do. And that's what we need to do. You know, we can't let technology take the human part out of things because there is a human on the other side. Well, that's what we desire to have a human on the other side. Correct, yes, okay, all right, I'm going to put another sound and we're going to get to a couple more questions.

Speaker 1:

Okay, thanks, mm-hmm.

Speaker 4:

I love you, lord, for your mercy never fails me. All my days I've been held in your hand, from the moment that I wake up until I lay my head, of the goodness of God, cause. All my life you have been faithful and all my life you have been so, so good. With every breath that I am able, oh, I will sing of the goodness of God. I love your voice. You have led me through the fire In darkest night. You are closed like no other. I've known you as a father, I've known you as a friend, and I have lived in the goodness of God, cause. All my life you have been faithful. Oh, yes, you have. And all my life you have been so, so good. With every breath that I am able, oh, I will sing of the goodness of God. Your goodness is running after. It's running after me. Your goodness is running after it's running after me With my life laid down.

Speaker 4:

I surrender now. I give you everything, oh, lord. Your goodness is running after. It's running after me. Your goodness is running after. It's running after me. Your goodness is running after. It's running after me With my life laid down. I surrender now. I give you everything. Your goodness is running after, it's running after me. And all my life you have been faithful, and all my life you have been so, so good. With every breath that I am able, oh, I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God. I'm gonna sing. All my life you have been faithful, all of my life you've been faithful. All of my life you have been so, so good, so good. With every breath that I am able, every breath that I am able, I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God. Yes, I am. I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God. I'm gonna sing of the goodness of God.

Speaker 1:

Now, because this is a little off the cuff. I'm getting back to social media and how we get the word out to other people. I love to mentor, okay, I love to teach, you know that. But I am now in the student seat and I've had a wonderful teacher. I know I probably racked her nerve and then that is listen, Linda, Miss Debbie, Miss Debbie, Jack Oren Cox, she had been very patient with me. She wanted me to show me some of the things that it's easier, you know it's easier Because I'm doing a struggle of going 10 steps and you know she got it down in two and that's good, you know.

Speaker 1:

But it is important to have people around you, Even when you know you have a perfect. You know People who are professionally, or say they're professionals, in the business Because they work for this company. It's only so far they can take you, Because there is is let me tell you right quick. And you go here and one of them even told me Go to YouTube. I was like, well, what were you for? What were you for? What's your role in this? You know so, but you know you have to do it and there's so many platforms and we are on several platforms. You know, when I finish with this, we will be on several platforms, you know, so that it can, you know, get the word out Regarding this podcast, this podcast. Now I have a couple more questions. How important is market research and identifying a target audience when starting a new business? Did you do any of that, Nicole?

Speaker 3:

Initially I did not do that. Initially I knew who my target audience was going to be. But to be honest, karen, I'm one of those people who, I 30 believe Everything happens for a reason, and so after everything that I dealt with, I just kind of put it out there and it took control. And so, once again, it's kind of like opening.

Speaker 3:

The brick and mortar Allowed me to kind of relearn some things and figure things out more, and now I'm establishing that base of figuring out who my target audience is and reaching towards those people specifically. And so I have my audiences for my Queens of Yonnie detox business is concerned, but I'm rerouting my audiences for the QID business is concerned, because, once again, a lot of people don't know and understand that this brick and mortar is just not for women. This brick and mortar is for anyone who's on the journey of being more well, more healthy, and so we have just products for family men, women and children. And so that's just one of the things that I'm doing now Determining who my target audience is and working towards Reaching those people, people who want to be well, people who are serious about their health, people who want to live a better, well, healthier.

Speaker 1:

And that's great. And you know we need that. You know, you and I, you know we're healthcare professionals and we see a lot when it comes to people and the human body. And with you know, my biggest thing is, if you would you know I'm not totally you need to drink more water. You know. Don't just take a swallow water behind your peel. Drink more. Oh, swallow is all I need. Well, you and I know that medication is drying up the inside of your body. Because the medication is drying, it's good for you, you need it, but you need to hydrate more and you know, move more. You know you need to eat properly. You know chips just aren't going to get it. And that's just what I see when I'm out here in some of the talking points and teaching points that I utilize. Now, you mentioned the herbs that you started using. What other products and what are the benefits of some of your products that you have? And Queen of Neonidine Top.

Speaker 2:

Did I lose you?

Speaker 3:

I think you did. I'm back now.

Speaker 1:

I'm sorry. Okay, so give me some of the products that you use, just a few of your products, and what they will help, what they are to help somebody with.

Speaker 3:

So my initial research started with raspberry leaf something as simple as raspberry leaf and so I started drinking raspberry leaf tea to strengthen my womb, and so after that, I researched different herbs like ashwagandha. Ashwagandha is also an herb that's in our tea. Raspberry leaf is in our tea fengu greek. Just all those things that strengthen the womb help regulate cycles. They help decrease the pain and the bloating associated with cycles. They also help regulate cycles and help target fibroids.

Speaker 3:

I had issues with fibroids and cysts, as well as hormone imbalance and so many other issues female issues when it came to conceive them and so our targeted herbs that would help me deal with those issues. So ashwagandha, raspberry leaf fengu greek. But the one thing that's also beneficial is that a lot of people don't understand or don't realize is that ashwagandha is also good for relaxation. So for people who have issues with sleep, people who have issues with anxiety, we have the supplements as well as the tea that will help with that. Raspberry leaf also helps with blood pressure, and so for people who have issues with their blood pressure, people who want to help regulate their blood pressure, the natural way, we have that supplement in different tea styles to help address those issues too.

Speaker 3:

As far as the steams, I started with a regular steam blend, a steam blend that would just help my cycles not be so lengthy, not be so painful and just be more regulated. I know it may be TMI, but my cycles lasted 60 days before, and I don't mean like 60 days, I mean 60 trenchers days, and so, if most people don't understand, when your cycles are regular like that, you're not releasing the egg in order to be fertilized, and so that was one of those things that I wanted to get track of was making sure that my cycles were regulated, and so steaming what we know as Yanni steaming was one of those things that was very beneficial to me to make sure that my cycles were regulated, to make sure that they weren't as painful, to make sure they weren't as lengthy, to make sure that I didn't blow and cramp so much as well.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now that my Raspberry leaf I've never heard of. That is great information and you're a witness because you utilize it for yourself, correct? Yes, okay, now I've seen this chair be a social media in your business. What's the chair? It's a beautiful chair.

Speaker 3:

That's a Yanni steaming chair, Okay, okay, Tell them what's the chair. And so what happens is for customers who were not targeted in issues we're just dealing with maintenance. Maintenance means to help tighten and tone. If we have any issues with pH balance, then we will create a regular herbal steam, and so what we do is we mix the herbs at water to create steam and steam for 30 minutes. So you basically just sit on the chair, we make sure that you're well covered, we make sure that you're comfortable. I usually give my customers a free cup of our tea so they can relax, play some good relaxing music and just sit and steam. Typical steam lasts for about 30 minutes, very relaxing. If you have any issues with room health, steam is good for you.

Speaker 2:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 4:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker 1:

And the Raspberry leaf. It comes in a tea.

Speaker 3:

Our Raspberry leaf comes in different teas. I have an apple cinnamon tea, I have a ginger lemon tea. The ginger lemon tea is really good for immunity as well. The apple cinnamon tea is really good for good health. And then the more women's health tea is our original tea. That's the first one that I created. It has pineapple, papaya, kiwi and the other one that I created. It has pineapple, papaya, kiwi, cranberries and raspberries in it. It also has a ashwagandha base, cinegreek and raspberryleaf as well, but that's more of our warm health team. So all of our teas have a raspberryleaf base, and then they're customized for other issues as well.

Speaker 1:

Okay, all right, now I got the scrub. I know I purchased a scrub and something else from you and I just fell in love with it. You know I just have been a little slow on the uptake about ordering it again, but now you got me on this raspberryleaf, and it's not that I'm trying to get pregnant. We know that I don't need to do that, right? Yes, we do, I don't need to do that. But when you talk about relaxing, and because I know a lot of people who suffer with just this clean cycle itself, I'm one of those people because sometimes I'm up real late, sometimes I'm up really early. So, and just off your recommendations of what you use and you utilize, you know, in your wellness facility, your wellness business, what do you recommend? Is it the ashwagandha? Because I've used that as well. I was having some muscle cramps I think I don't know who was, spina Greek or one of those, but it did work. I would put it like that. It did work, it did help me.

Speaker 3:

As far as promoting sleep, all of our teas have do that. Specifically, as I stated, the apple cinnamon tea has good health benefits as well, and the ginger lemon tea has immunity benefits as well. So both of those teas have promote sleep and I also have those added benefits. In addition to that, I also have ashwagandha supplements here in store. It's you just one of those people who would just rather pop a pill instead of drinking tea? Because, you know, some people just don't like drinking tea, and that's just the fact. Some people I have customers who like to make the tea and then they'll put it in the refrigerator later get cold because they just don't like drinking hot tea. And so for those people, we do have the actual capsule, the supplement of ashwagandha, which helps promote sleep and relaxation as well.

Speaker 1:

Okay, now I'm kind of the opposite. I don't have to have hot tea, but I like what they have, I'm afraid, to be a little sweet, not just sugary, syrupy sweet, but I like where to be sweet. Which one of those would be pleasing to my palate?

Speaker 3:

Or would I need to?

Speaker 1:

add the apple cinnamon.

Speaker 3:

The apple cinnamon. You can always add organic honey to the teas. I always suggest that most people don't do it because they just like the herbalist of the tea. But the apple cinnamon tea I wouldn't quite say it has like a slight apple pie taste, but it has that cinnamon and apple taste to it that you don't really need a sweetener. And if you were to add something then the organic honey would be suffice.

Speaker 1:

Okay now and I know we're not positions and we don't play doctors on daytime TV okay, I just want to clear that up for the audience. What would you recommend for someone who is having an issue with stress? Just stress, weight gain, bloating it's just don't feel like them. Sale type of stressors. What would you recommend?

Speaker 3:

Once again, ashwagandha Ashwagandha is really good for anxiety. It's really it's just one of those herbs is really good. It's really good for anxiety and it's going to help promote sleep. It's going to help remove any tension that you have. It's just an overall good supplement. So if you're not into drinking tea which has our ashwagandha in it, then once again we have the supplements for you as well.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I guess I'll be ordering some tea and giving them all these gifts, okay. Yes, ma'am, that's what I'm going to be doing. Okay, a couple more questions. What are some essential legal and regulatory aspects being a new business owner that other business owners or you can advise other business owners to be aware of?

Speaker 3:

Be aware of the brand, be aware of how you present yourself In today's society. We live in the world where kind of anything goes, but for me, I still pride myself on being a business owner and being a real person, but still maintaining a great presentation. I want people to know that I'm a real person. I love football, I love people, I love all things wellness, I love to have fun too, but just certain things I just don't do and that's just me. So maintaining a good presentation about who you are real, but who you are, if you understand what I'm saying.

Speaker 1:

I get you. Yeah, I mean, authenticity matters to me. You know, whenever you saw me at one facility to the next, I was always the same. Whenever I saw you from one facility to the next, it was all the same. Whether we were passing in the hall, talking in the elevator, in a code situation, you always had the beautiful smile and I'm just, I'm like, mika is the same. I don't kill what, and that's what people feel that. They see that. They recognize that, just like when you say, oh, somebody's always in a bad mood. You know so and so it's always been a bit. You recognize that in an individual, you know.

Speaker 1:

But you want to like, you say, people with like minds, you know, like personalities. You want that with you because you don't want to be struggling, and with someone each and every day, when it comes to just basic life. You know you don't want to struggle with that. You know you want to. As I say, they have deemed me to let it go personality, to let it go coach. And our new anthology just came out because I was, they were. What did you think? What do you think? And I just went on this rant, rant, rant about what meant to go. What meant it to go? What meant it to go? And they were like, oh, we're going to change you, we're going to change your name to let it go coach. And I was like who the Lord dropped dead in my spirit because I was not on that page today, you know.

Speaker 1:

So it's just some things we have to, you know, establish some boundaries on how we're going about people to treat us. And you know you don't want to be around. You know, as we say, in nursing a negative Nancy, you know what, you know, you just don't want to be around those type of people because they can be so draining, because you're kind of, keep your your head together, you're trying to keep yourself up, you're trying to keep yourself motivated, and then they come with this negative word you better let me slip on out this door because you have the freedom to do that. I don't Exactly. You're like okay, see, miss Carolyn, guy, don't leave me, don't leave me, you know, but you know we all have to go. Okay Now. And this set ways into our next question how can entrepreneurs stay motivated and maintain a positive mindset when facing setbacks and challenges?

Speaker 3:

That's one of the things that I found that everything happens for a reason and everything is determined by your reaction to it. And so in life, I, I I bet I get it off and I kind of just keep rolling. That's just one of the things that have developed being around positive people, having my positive vibe, making sure that they do as well, and just kind of allowing those things to kind of just roll off my chest. Of course, you deal with them. You deal with them, however, they need to be dealt with, and you just keep moving. You don't allow to to get you down, you don't allow it to get you distracted, you don't allow it to distance you from your, your goal. You deal with it and you just keep moving past it.

Speaker 3:

And so that's one of the things that I've learned over these years. That's one of the things that I've learned in life through all of my struggles. I don't let it weigh me down, and that's just one of my personality traits. I deal with it and I keep it moving from from personal issues to financial issues, to whatever happens in life. You deal with it and you just keep it moving.

Speaker 1:

And I agree with you 100%. You know, yeah, you know, that initial shock of hearing about this that any other, but one thing for sure you have to move forward. You can't just stand still.

Speaker 3:

Yes.

Speaker 1:

Now I just want to ask if anyone would like to call in and ask Mrs Murray any questions. Please just select that invite caller or that bubble under my icon and if you have any questions, we have several pop callers on the line and this has really been very educational for me, very inspirational for me as well. I am so glad we had this conversation. Now let me ask you have you ever I know you did today do you ever go on additional platforms and speak regarding your infertility issues? Hold on.

Speaker 3:

Most of the people in my private group if they've been reading, they know about my journey, but I don't think I've ever said it out of my mouth to somebody on an interview before. Most people if they've read something about me, then they know it from the private group. But there is a lot of members in the group and so if they hadn't been intentional about learning things about me, then they wouldn't know it. So, as I said, a lot of people in our family didn't know it. We didn't talk about that with a lot of our friends until after it was over, and so that was just a journey that me and my husband decided that we were going to take on our own.

Speaker 3:

And I don't know if we I can't remember if we actually sat down and decided that we were going to do it by ourselves or whether it was just something that kind of happened, because he's kind of the same way. We're kind of the same with that. When it's something that we want or something that we know we want to do is like, hey, let's do it, and if it's a little treat, it was one of those things for us. Okay, that's great.

Speaker 1:

And I do appreciate your testimony because the witness knows that is truly a testimony. And we do have a caller on Nika, so let me bring her up. Sandra Washington, okay, and she'll introduce herself as well.

Speaker 2:

Hi, are you there? Yeah, I'm here. Can you hear me? Yes, I can. Okay, good day ladies. I'm actually sitting here listening and I want to tell Quadirah I believe that's what her name is I want to tell her thank you so much for coming on and sharing the information that she is sharing. I hadn't suffered from infertility, but I know two young individuals who have linked. Well, actually, one has an Instagram page and one has a nonprofit that's in the infertility space, and I bring that information up because that is not as uncommon as we would like to think it is right, especially in our community. So I found out a lot of information in reference to infertility and God bless you for the birth of your child that you, you know, was able to take without taking any medication or without going around doing the traditional infertility. My question is this the supplements that you use in the Yanni products so that are in the Yanni products are those supplements that have actually met some type of standard?

Speaker 3:

Great question. You can call me Nika. It's QuarNika, but you can call me Nika, but that's a very good question. Most of the products, most of the herbs, of course, most herbal supplements that you see on any shelf are not FDA approved. These are products that have been tested and that have results that hadn't been approved by the federal drug administration, and so I'm one of those people who I believe in research, I believe in making a choice that you feel is best for you, and I believe that quality overrides, and so when you find herbs or things that work for you, or even medications that tend to work for you, that's kind of what I did, and I just stuck with it, and I've also found that it works for thousands of other women and men as well, and so, from doing research and from background information in my own personal background as well, I didn't feel that it needed to be FDA approved, because a lot of the herbs that we see on any store shelf are FDA approved. So, to answer your question, no, they're not FDA approved.

Speaker 2:

Well, no, not so much FDA approved, because I'm going to be transparent with you Once again, I don't have a fertility issue, but I have other health issues and I see a functional medicine doctor who actually also has a background in pharmacology. So I think all three of us on the call realized that the medicine, in order for it to work, or the supplements in order for it to work all the time they're not FDA. Sometimes there's stuff that's out there for us to take, but so that's what my question was, and I'm sorry I should have actually asked it like that because, you guys, supplements aren't FDA approved, you're correct, but I just wanted to know if even some functional medicine teams or doctors or whatever have actually looked at those items that are in the only product and what it is that they think about those products.

Speaker 3:

The Holistic Academy has done that research itself. I can't think up the website right off the top of my head, but it's the Holistic Academy and they research all the herbal remedies and so if you were to go to their website and search any of the herbs you find from ashwagandha to raspberry leaf to dungwad, just any of the herbal supplements or herbal remedies that you find they have all that information on their website.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so they actually have taken a look at it and this is what they're thinking is that these items in fact not items, but these products do in fact work. Now is the Yoni products. Are they helpful? And I'm asking you this question for a reason Are the Yoni products helpful for infertility and for having family or being able to get pregnant? Or because I looked at your website and I didn't see that information out there. So that's why I'm asking is it something that helps with the infertility issue, holistically with the infertility issue for raising a family or having a family?

Speaker 3:

Yes, the answer is yes. For a lot of my customers the answer is yes. As I previously stated with Joshua, we did do the artificial insemination. That's my first son. With my second son, I threw myself in tears. I drunk the tea, I stings and I stayed. I stayed in a consistent regiment. I made sure that I maintained a healthy environment as far as my body's concerned, drunk my water, raspberry leaf, yoni steams, and I just focused on making sure that I did my herbal supplements routinely. It wasn't anything that I did for a day, it was a consistent thing that I did and for me it worked. I have customers that I'm treating for infertility. They come in, they do their steams, they make sure they use all the products, they make sure that they drink their teas and we're on the right journey. I have customers who have PCOS, who hadn't had cycles in two years, and they come in and we're able to get their cycles regulated and so for a lot of women who stand by and believe in the herbs, it works and it's working for us.

Speaker 2:

And the reason why I asked you that is because I do LinkedIn audios. In the month of November, it is National Family Health History Month, and I'm just thinking, because I know that you said that your issue was actually getting the word out, and I'm just thinking that perhaps, if you're open to it, we could do a LinkedIn live Live on Family Health History, since you just stated there yes, indeed, it does. The natural supplements do help with having a family, because a family health history has to start from somewhere.

Speaker 3:

Sounds like a plan, I'm interested.

Speaker 2:

Okay, so I will actually get your information from Carolyn, who is actually on my board. We'll get your information from her and we'll make it happen.

Speaker 3:

Okay, great.

Speaker 2:

Thank you.

Speaker 3:

Thank you.

Speaker 1:

Okay, nika. Yeah, that was Sandra Washington, and she's the founder of Charms MediHealth Foundation and so it's non-profit as well. It's LLC non-profit and it is about patient advocacy and patient education, and she has a host of speakers that come on and lay people as well as Dr Bridgen Durbin titles who come on and share their story, and we call it Educational Wednesday, okay, and so I think that may be what she's referring to, but I will pass your information off to her. Okay, okay, thank you, and she's in the Illinois area. Okay, okay, now I have really appreciated having you. I don't want to steal you so much from you, but I'm going to go back on the website and, if you would tag me back into you, because I need to order some more product, I need some more product, okay, okay now. I use aguave to sweeten my coffee. So I know you said you guys recommend wall honey. Have you ever thought about aguave? To me, aguave is a little bit sweeter and it takes a little less to sweeten.

Speaker 3:

One of my best customers who've been a customer of mine since the beginning of time. She's also one of my cosmetic customers. She's a friend of the family now. She's just like. She loves aguave, so that's what she uses sweeten all of her teas. So it's one of those things where I personally prefer organic honey or either organic pineapple juice. In the original blend she used aguave and so it just depends on what you like. For some of my customers don't even sweeten the tea. They just prefer the wildness of the tea. So it just depends on your taste buds and what you like.

Speaker 1:

Well, thank you so much. I thought about that because I love honey, but a friend of mine recommended aguave and I have been on it for months now probably over a year and I just absolutely love it. We're going to close out with a prayer and then any questions you have. I want you to shout out your companies, both of your company's names, you know the one on Facebook, and then you're breaking more to building again before we go into prayer. Okay, okay.

Speaker 3:

Karen, thank you so much for considering me. Thank you for inviting me to this platform. I surely do appreciate you. I've been knowing each other for a while and it's always truly an honor to be in your space, so I truly do appreciate it.

Speaker 1:

You're more than welcome. I you know I love being in yours too because, like I say, I see those jumbles and that smile and I'm all good. I'm all good. So that is it. So shout out your company's name and everything again. I see it is in the chat, so you know some of us are more audio. You know we like to hear things on one of those people. But yes, if you would again, and then we'll close out in prayer and with the song.

Speaker 3:

Speaker 1:

I'm going to play one song after we pray, and I pray God's favor just on you, your family and your businesses. Thank you, kailah, because you're doing a service. You're doing a service to help others and that is a one-sided service.

Speaker 1:

Most people are doing a service to help themselves. Whatever your objective is, that's their objective. But when you're doing a service to help others, you're doing something you really don't have to do, but you have a calling to do that, so that is a blessing in and of itself. We'll go before the Lord, heavenly Father. Lord God, we just thank you. We thank you for your service. We thank you for the interview. We thank you for everyone who participates, who doubt in to listen to the interview. May they benefit from this so that they can benefit others as well. So we just ask you to vote for our family. This we ask in Jesus name Amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen, amen.

Speaker 2:

Amen Amen.

Speaker 4:

For some who don't understand our purpose and may not understand our praise Where's the family in Jesus name? We'd like to tell you the reason why we say it Family. Someone asked a question. Why do we sing when we lift our hands to Jesus? What do we really mean? Someone may be wondering. When we sing a song and times we may be crying, and nothing's even wrong. I sing because I'm happy. I sing because I'm happy. I sing because I'm free. His eyes long to spare. That's the reason why I sing. I want to know if you can help me shake the Lord with you. You're the reason why I sing. Come on, say glory, glory, high and blue. Thank you, jesus. You're the reason why I sing. Can we say it again?

Speaker 4:

Someone asked a question. Oh, glory, why do we sing? Why do we sing when we lift our hands to Jesus? Oh, what do we really mean? What do we really mean? Someone may be wondering.

Speaker 4:

When we sing a song and times we may be crying, and nothing's even wrong. This is the reason why I sing, because I sing, because I sing, because I don't know why he does it, but his eyes long to spare. Oh, that's the reason why I sing. Come on, let's say it again Glory high and blue, you're the reason why I sing. I know I can get a witness in here. Glory high and blue, you're the reason, jesus, you're the reason why I sing. I know right about it. I just want to say glory, glory, high and blue. I give the praises to you, I give the praises to you. Glory high and blue, you're the reason why I sing.

Speaker 4:

Listen, and when the song is over, we've all said amen. We've all said amen In your heart. Just keep on singing In your heart, just keep on singing, and the song will never end. And the song will never end. Listen, and if somebody asks you, and if somebody asks you Was it just a show? Was it just a show? Lift your hands and be a witness. Lift your hands and be a witness and tell the whole world no, and tell the world no. And when we cross that river, and when we cross that river To study one or more, to study one or more, we will sing. We will sing our songs to Jesus, the one whom we adore, the one whom we Come on, family, let's take it home.

Speaker 4:

I sing because I sing because of that. I sing because I sing because of that. I don't know why he does it, but it's high. His eyes are on the stairs. That's the reason, though.

Speaker 4:

That's the reason why, if you let me sing one more time, can I say glory, glory, high and blue. You're the reason why. You're the reason why, because I love you, jesus, I want to say glory, glory, high and blue. Oh, you're the reason. You're the reason. You're the reason why I sing. Can I say it again Glory, glory, high and blue. I give the praises to you, I give the praise to you. Glory, high and blue, glory, high and blue. Thank you, you're the reason why I sing. You're the reason why I sing. You're the reason why I sing. You're the reason why I sing. You're my melody in midnight, jesus. You're my song in my storm. Jesus, you're the him in my heart. Jesus, you're the reason why I sing. You're the reason why. You're the reason why I sing. Oh, I love you, I love your name, jesus. Glory, high and blue. For the rest of my life, jesus, you'll be the reason why I sing.

Speaker 1:

Glory high and blue. Okay, everyone, thank you for joining us on Gentry's journey. I have enjoyed being your podcast host for this evening. Everyone have a wonderful day.
