Speaker 1:

Welcome to the Direct Sellers Podcast, the podcast for direct sellers who are ready to get uncomfortable, build their business and grow a team while changing the face of the direct sales industry. I'm your host, rachel Perry. Join me as we get real and talk about all the things you need to kick some serious direct sales booty From overcoming limiting beliefs to sharing the exact strategies you need to attract the right people who become customers and beg to join your team. I've got you covered, girl. I'm going to be your new BFF when it comes to balancing life and kids while building your direct sales business with poise, peace of mind and, of course, a good set of fake eyelashes. Let's get started. Hello, my friends, welcome back to another episode of the Direct Sellers Podcast. I'm your host, rachel Perry, and I can't believe that we are so close to Christmas. I think I said that last week. Y'all, where is this time going? But you know what I'm really excited about? 2025. I'm really excited about 2025. I mean, it's kind of a big year because my son graduates high school and I'm excited for him.

Speaker 1:

We had a conversation at the dinner table last week. My in-laws were over and we were just talking about how hard it is to let your child go to college. Not let them, but like, as they graduate high school. You know it's another era, right? A chapter is closed and a new one is beginning, and it's exciting, but it's also like really sad. And my son, who is just he goes. Oh, I'm sorry, mom, and I was like nobody, like I don't want you to take this on. I shouldn't have even said that, but I was like, no, but it's exciting and this is how life is supposed to go. And so it was just a sweet conversation, but it made me realize, like you know, 2025, there's some big things happening for us in the Perry family, but you know what? I'm just excited. I feel like big things are going to be happening for all of us. I just feel really excited about it.

Speaker 1:

And something that I want to talk to you about today is your brand, and I use that word and it's such a hard concept, I think, sometimes for us to wrap our brains around because it's not concrete. And I've talked a lot about branding this year, but we're going to step into it and get a little bit more specific today for 2025. Because I want you to figure out, like, how can you really stand out in 2025?. There are so many shifts happening in the industry. Things and I say this all the time but things that used to work don't work anymore, and that's that's across the board. It doesn't matter what business you're in, like, you need to always be adapting, and so it's really important for you to figure out, like, what is it that I can do to stand out in this world so that I can crush 2025? And that's what we're going to talk about today. We're going to do kind of a branding reset, if you will, so that you do feel aligned, so that you are attracting your ideal audience and that you can set the foundation for a successful year.

Speaker 1:

So let's talk about, like, why really diving into this brand piece matters. You've got to stand out. It used to be that you didn't need to stand out quite as much, you know, in the beginning of social media, which is so weird that I it's just so weird. Time is weird, isn't it? But anyway, it's really important for you to figure out what makes you you, so that your customers and your potential customers and your potential team members can really connect to you and not just the product. And I think, if you are finding that your sales might be down or your team might not be growing, or maybe even your team isn't working. There are some things that might need to be tweaked. You know, when you, if you're dieting which y'all know I'm anti-diet, but we've all, I think most of us have probably dieted in our lives and there always comes a point when we plateau right, when things don't work out the way, like they don't keep going in the direction, and it's the same for your brand, it's same for your business Like there's going to be a time when things aren't working as well as they used to and sometimes you just need to make a little tweak. And sometimes it's just sort of taking a look at yourself and your business and your brand and being like, okay, what can I do to stand out even more? What can I do? So let me give you three steps to help you stand out in 2025.

Speaker 1:

So the first is to discover your superpower, and y'all I know I've talked about this a lot, but I'm not going to stop, because I think this is so important and so many of you don't know what your superpower is and I think there might be a little bit of fear around it, like, oh my gosh, what if? What if? I don't have one? And the thing is is, you do have a superpower. Everybody has at least one superpower. Many of us have more than one. So I want you to take some time to reflect on what makes you special, what makes you unique, what skills do you have, what strengths do you have and what do you love to share?

Speaker 1:

I was realizing, and I've talked about my superpowers, and I tell I share my superpowers with you guys, because I think it's so important for you to. Sometimes it helps when people give you examples, right. Sometimes it helps when you are able to connect with people through learning about what it is about them. So I was scrolling Instagram the other day, as one does, right, and there were so, okay, long story short, I started learning a little bit about human design, and if you don't know what that is, you can just Google it. But there was someone that I followed and it talked about the superpowers that we have with the type of personality, the type of person that I am, and there are so many people have so many different superpowers.

Speaker 1:

One of mine is to uplift and expand everyone around me with charisma, energy and passion. And you guys, that's what was on this post, but it's so true, right. I do that naturally. That comes very naturally to me. I don't even know that I'm doing it. I know that I have an energy that and because so many people have said it like, people just love my energy. That's not me patting myself on the back, by the way.

Speaker 1:

Like you, recognizing your superpower and seeing where you shine is absolutely not bragging or being full of yourself. It's identifying where you stand out, and that's something that I do well, but it's something that I don't even try to do, it just does. I just do it Right, and that's what your superpower is. Another one of my superpowers is helping you, helping women, helping direct sellers realize what's possible when you release that need to fit into your box. I am here to show you what's possible for you and there's so much out there for you. So what is your superpower? And sometimes you don't even like, sometimes you just don't even realize it because it's so natural to you.

Speaker 1:

So I want you to be listening to cues, I want you to be listening to what people say. I want you to be paying attention to when you feel really happy, like for me, I feel really happy when I'm in a crowd of people, like if I'm at a business conference, if I'm at a retreat, if I'm on stage. That brings me to life, and the reason that brings me to life is because I'm able to connect with people. So where do you feel the happiest? Where do you feel lit up and ask yourself what do people always like, what do people come to me for, or what do people thank me for? Or what do people say, like, is there ever a time when someone goes, you know the way you da, da, da, da, da. Or I just love being around you because da, da, da, da da. All right, I just want you to think about it. Think about what it is where you shine. Let's say Okay.

Speaker 1:

The second piece I want you to do is to audit your messaging, okay. So I want you to kind of look at your past. I don't know 10 posts on Instagram, 10 posts in your VIP group, 10 posts on your Facebook page, wherever you're, wherever you're posting TikTok, wherever you are. And I want you to ask yourself is your message clear and consistent? And if you're using more than one platform, like, is it clear and consistent across all platforms? And oftentimes it's not, even for me, like, sometimes it's not. I have to go back and go okay, wait, what is my message here? And then that goes back to like your brand voice, like what is your message ultimately? What are you teaching people, what are you helping people realize? What solutions are you offering and I'm not talking about your products, I'm just talking about in general, what are you helping people do?

Speaker 1:

And does this reflect your superpower? Are you speaking directly to your ideal audience's needs? And here's something else I want to say about your ideal audience. If you are like I don't know if all the people that follow me, if this is really, if they're my ideal person, I just need to fit what they want. That's not true. When you are able to speak freely to that one person, it doesn't matter what everybody else in your audience wants. Like if you've, if you've shifted your, your purpose, like if you've shifted your purpose, if you've shifted your messaging, you just need to speak to that one person. They will find you. They will find you. You can't speak to everybody and what they need. Okay, it's just too, it's too hard.

Speaker 1:

And the third piece is to refresh your content plan. Okay, maybe you're doing too much of show and tell, or maybe you're doing too much teaching or maybe you're doing too much of the funny stuff. Think about what really resonates, and I'm going to tell you what resonates. You want to shift to more storytelling and connection building content. Storytelling is so powerful and storytelling can be in many ways. It's not like you're going to say, okay, guys, let's, I'm going to tell you a story now. No, it's more just like in your content.

Speaker 1:

Have you seen the reels and the TikToks and the YouTube videos where it's like a day in the life? The reason those are so popular is because it's you're telling a story. You're telling a story and you don't have to there. I mean, there are a lot of work. I've done like one or two. There are a lot of work, but what's cool is how people look there. It's giving them some insight into your everyday.

Speaker 1:

So think about storytelling, and it doesn't have to be just the content that you're creating. It doesn't have to be like a day in the life. But that sort of storytelling the way people are learning like B-roll is, in a way, it's storytelling because it's showing some behind the scenes. What is some connection building content, storytelling that you can do in what you share? Highlight personal stories, customer wins, value pack tips that align with your superpower, the way you share it is in your superpower. What are things that you can do, showing them? If you are getting ready for the holidays, start recording yourself wrapping presents. Start recording yourself getting your house ready for the holidays. Start recording yourself cooking and baking with your kids. All of that is storytelling, and it doesn't have to be that you sell that stuff. I mean, you may, right, but storytell. You can talk to your audience using those stories.

Speaker 1:

Okay, quick recap for kind of reinventing or really standing out in your brand. It's just like really hone in on your superpower, look at your messaging, make sure it's clear and consistent and then refresh your content plan, start leaning more into storytelling and connection building content. So what I want you to do now is well, if you can, when you can, is write down three things that you're passionate about and three things that you're naturally good at. And then I want you to look for overlaps and think like how can this serve others? And if you're not sure, if you're like I can't write three things down, just journal, just journal, because when you just journal, sometimes things pop out right. So just journal, like what are you passionate about and what do you feel naturally good at? Because when you step into your superpower, it will completely transform your business. It will completely transform who you are and how you stand out. I've been.

Speaker 1:

A lot of the girls in my expand program have been really diving into their branding and what's so cool is the transformation that I've seen in them and in their business as a result. They're just standing in who they are. They're more confident in who they are and what they have to offer and what makes them different that they don't. They don't have to fit in anymore. They are who they are and they're proud of it. So here's what I want to tell you.
