I've been asked about golden nuggets

for people dreaming of a millionaire lifestyle,

but I actually think, you know, it's the wrong question.

If you want true success,

if you want true happiness, and ultimately if you want

true financial success as well,

I think if you've got nothing else to chase

other than chase the money,

then you are going to be very unhappy.

you've probably heard this kind of thing said before as well.

And I know it's very easy to look at someone like me who's got money and say, it is easy for him to say money doesn't matter because he's got it.

But, you know,

if you haven't got it, then it probably feels a lot more important.

But it really is true that

once you hit a certain level of money to cover your needs, to make sure there's a roof over your head, to make sure there's a car and you know, you've got a couple of holidays

whatever the kind of, you know, acceptable minimums are that you need

the next levels of money

don't bring

the material levels of happiness increase

that you think they will do.

I mean, I look at all the fancy things that I've bought over the years,

and honestly, the novelty of them has worn off

24 hours, 48 hours after buying them,

Ferraris, Lamborghinis. I've always wanted these cars. I buy them,

genuinely, I drive them once, twice and I'm completely bored of them.

Literally three weeks ago, four weeks ago,

I love my watches.

You know, anyone who knows me knows I've got a pretty decent watch collection.

I've always wanted a Richard Mille. Never had one.

I bought one a month ago.

$300,000 watch,

which again at the time felt like

this pinnacle of financial achievement.

But I've put it on my wrist. Yeah, I love it. It's a nice watch. But honestly,

the feeling of that excitement and desire

just disappears.

So I think I may not be answering the question in the way it was asked,

but don't chase purely the financial desire. Listen, we all want money. I want money, too.

But you've got to have otherwise you've got to have other reasons and other things that are going to make you happy,

because without any of those, the money itself will never work
