Was pursuing Superhuman AI, which is an electronic newsletter.  The quick read type, as it appears no one reads over about 4 minutes anymore.

One article caught my eye … something I have been thinking about for a while.  

Youth, as we all know, are pretty good negotiators and utilizers of new things.  Why is this?  Well they generally have lots of time and, while short on resources, can usually squeeze enough out of their parents to get what they want.

In the January 26th, 2024 edition of Superhuman AI, the headline says it all:

Gen Z and Gen Alpha are morphing into Gen AI, as ChatGPT usage accelerates among kids

The use of ChatGPT is for term papers … I’d say it is evil, but I probably would have gladly used it to get through high school.  

The article further states:

“The kids are AI-right. A new study that analyzed the digital media habits of over 400,000 families and schools worldwide in 2023 found that almost 20% of kids accessed the ChatGPT website last year, making it the 18th most-visited site for the year. |

The report comes from parent control software maker Qustodio, which analyzed children’s online habits aged 4 through 18. Australia led the way for AI adoption among kids, where 30% of kids reported using ChatGPT.”As an aside, the article further stated:
“TikTok led the charts for social media app usage among kids, while Snapchat took top spot for communication apps when measuring for average daily time spent on these apps.”

Ok, we know TikTok and youth isn’t new news anymore.  Worrisome, but not new.But think about the article … Gen Z and Gen Alpha, those 2010 to 2020 something’s, are merging by way of social media.  That is a little scary all by itself.And if you had any fear of AI before, understand that those older than 10 appear to be on their way to marginalization … and AI will enable the prepubescent to not only push back on TikTok, but to create some impressive media and arguments against you and each other.Somehow the 60’s counter-culture is looking a bit dated.AI is here folks.  And it is coming for YOU!Peace!More later … |
