Milling about … noticing some synthetic yuck on the ol’ internets.
Youtube is getting more packed with synthetic ai voices. Content is becoming more and more canned, as AI video gets better … that is, it gets better to watch as a form of synthetic content.
But hardly newsworthy. Even less interesting. Squeezing out all that might look and feel a little organic and, dare I say, interesting.
Many times, it is based on old analog news, with a synthetic voice, respun with some new gen music … which may well be ai generated. Here is a 30 second clip on Niechie, and about If you want to be free, stop avoiding conflict. Here’s the sample:

In a word, boring. But people create channels on YouTube, post this stuff, and people watch it. A lot.
Frustrating.
I have to tell you, if this is the future, no matter how good it is, you can ship me back to the glory days of analog and the 1970s. Because this is just mind dribble for those searching for something … yet finding nothing. I mean Nietzsche, if you want it, if you need it, is a great thing to work your mind on. I do believe a classical, well read education is the key to understanding AI and all its promises.
But you are going to have to taste it from the serving spoon of which it was given … a book, some paper, and a room … to, you know, read?! For hours. For days.
Think about that … in this world of distraction, reading is becoming a lost art. Even for college students. In an October 1st, 2024, article in The Atlantic, even for the elite college chosen ones, reading an entire book is becoming a thing of difficulty. They are less intellectual. Less creative. Less able to write well. Just for youI will leave the link for you below.
And here is a clip from America Uncovered on the topic, as students really just look for quick reviews. Here is a piece of their take on the subject:

Now, in the past, all kids who had to write a paper, at least once, tried to go with a bookstore review by Notes-You-Know-What-I-Am-Talking-About to avoid reading the book. What is funny is that those things were often more complicated than the actual novel assigned for the reading … the ultimate teacher revenge, I guess.
But now, while one can “watch the movie” … most are just a ChatGPT prompt away. And read the response you say? Well no, you can just have it read back to you. In any voice you ask. And then have the paper written for you.
So kids can get back to the real work at hand, posting on Social Media and texting “who knows what” … blame the kids if you want, but all kids are masters at finding efficiencies. The ultimate “DOGE”r’s.
As a society, we opened the doors of tech to our kids. Insecure and needing to have a 24/7 line to monitor our kids. Fact is, we are really the ones who need the monitoring. Honestly, many parents are as bad as their kids when it comes to social media. Creators of nothing important, but all chasing online stardom and searching for ego affirmation and feather stroking … I mean, we all need to feel important and smart. Praise from all. Digital or otherwise.
One short video or instagram reel at a time. In massive doses.
Which is odd, because when it is all done, it seems the only thing we seem to want to take is the antidepressant or other chemical the doctor prescribes for all the ailments that come with focusing our eyes and minds on the inorganic.
But it seems the best prescription is an old dog eared book, some thought, some reflective writing, and the sweat that comes with intellectual activity.
Try it sometime. And I’m talking to you parents. Do it, and the kids will follow.
Rumor has it, it actually works.
