Episode 10: Life After a Suicide with Kay Warren
Show Notes

Welcome back to the Madness & Grace Podcast!

Today, our hosts are joined by Kay Warren – cofounder of Saddleback Church alongside her husband, Rick, in Lake Forest in 1980, where they served until Rick’s retirement in September 2022. After the death of her son, Matthew, who lived with serious mental illness for most of his life, she founded Saddleback’s Hope for Mental Health Initiative as a way to support individuals and family members of loved ones with mental illness and suicidal ideation. Listen to their conversation as Kay shares her personal story, gives advice on how to come alongside someone who has lost a loved one to suicide, reflects on how Matthew’s death has affected her faith, and more.

You can learn more about Kay Warren and her ministry BREATHE here.
