What can I do about my perimenopausal symptoms?
Sep 11, 2023 Season 1 Episode 29
Sarah Boyles

In this episode, I'll talk to Gouri Pimputkar who is a physician board-certified in both Obstetrics & Gynecology and Lifestyle medicine.  You can find her at:
https://www.allarahealth.com/
and on social media at wellnesswithdrgouri

We'll talk about the perimenopause and what symptoms we commonly see.  She has some great advice, like thinking of your hormones like they are on a dimmer switch- they don't just turn on and off.

She'll talk about when you seek help (it is when you feel off and it is effecting your life) and who you should see.  We'll discuss tracking your symptoms before you come into the office and how to do that and what to track.  This gives us more information and makes it easier to figure out what is going on.

She'll talk about when to check hormones levels and when to treat with hormones.  But we also spend a long time discussing the importance of lifestyle changes like:

  • nutrition
  • sleep
  • social connections
  • exercise

We'll talk about new online platforms that are being created to support you.

Her best advice is to start by prioritizing yourself and figuring out how to diminish your stress.  Little changes can have a huge impact on our hormonal changes, how we feel and how we show up in the world.  Come listen to her reassuring voice!
