In 2001, mum-of-two Laura Ashurst was diagnosed with cancer.
Six years later, she was told it was incurable.

Having been told in 2007 that she had between three months and two years left to live, Laura recalls how she tried having one final ‘cancer-free Christmas’ with her children – who she has now been able to watch grow into young adults.
She discusses how drugs have played a crucial role, along with the power of mindfulness – while she also explains why she’s working to change the language used by the media around cancer.
