Aged 24, Kerri Douglas felt she'd been given a death sentence.

She was diagnosed with HIV.

But in this remarkable episode of PRsonal, Keri reveals how it actually saved her.

With the virus no longer detectable, Keri's story is a remarkable example of the resilience humans can have.

Aged just 13, she was a child on the street. By 19, having been failed by the system and having suffered abuse, she turned to heroin.

But she refused to be a victim.

Breaking the cycle, she took herself off the street, driven by a desire to keep being a mum.

She's since become a public speaker and has written a book, 'Gutter to Glory'.

Sitting down with host Charlotte Nichols, she talks about her incredible journey - from being jailed for stealing a Sainsbury's sandwich to supporting the charity CEO Sleepout  - and her deep desire to change people's perceptions around homelessness.
