Preparing For Takeoff: Turning Slowdowns Into Smart Momentum

Dr. BethAnne Kapansky Wright Episode 146

Ever feel like you’re ready to take off but the runway lights keep flickering?

We explore a “flight check” week: prepare with care, slow down without losing heart, and use beginner’s mind to make better choices. Our tarot card of the week adds the Page of Air to spark curiosity, new ideas, and practical steps that create ease.

Key talking points include:

• energy update from the Akashic Records
• preparation as a path to peace and ease
• kitchen and cockpit metaphors for planning
• dealing with slowdowns, retrogrades, and frustration
• clearing clutter for focus and utility
• creative substitutions and resourcefulness
• Page of Air meanings and affirmations
• practical checklists and small daily actions

If the collective energy feels noisy—hello, Mercury retrograde—this is your cue to clear clutter outside and inside: tidy a corner you’ve ignored, prune a task list that grew wild, name a feeling that kept looping. Every bit of order frees attention, and attention is what moves the needle.

We share keywords, gentle affirmations, and low-friction practices that help you revise assumptions and notice fresh paths. By the time clarity lands, your systems, space, and spirit will be ready—less turbulence, more lift.

If this resonates, tap follow, share it with a friend who needs a calmer runway, and leave a review so more people can find Your Heart Magic. What single step will you prep today to make tomorrow feel lighter?

SPEAKER_00:

Aloha, everybody. Welcome to Your Heart Magic. This is Dr. Bethane Kapansky Wright, and we have an energy update from the Akashic Records today. We have our tarot card of the week, and we will be talking about how do we take all this guidance into our life and apply it in a practical way so that we can live with more peace and more ease. I am laughing as I say these words. I needed this message this week. I just did this whole episode and I forgot to press record. So I'm hopping back on here to do it again. And the irony is that the message this week is focused on preparation. That is the energy and the records for this upcoming week. And the key words and guidance really is about being prepared, double checking, making sure that we have everything in order so that when we are ready to do the thing, whatever it is, we're able to do it more efficiently and it goes better. And so I'm taking my own medicine. I obviously wasn't prepared and didn't stop and check and make sure that the episode was recording. And I'd even turn the button on. So touche Akashic Records. But when I opened the records for this week, as always, I received a couple images to help orient us to what the energy is. And the first one that I saw was somebody doing meal prep as if they are getting ready for a giant feast or having some big event. And I had this sense of somebody being in a kitchen and they're slicing and dicing and cutting things up, and there's food on the counter. They have a checklist and they're making sure they have the ingredients. They are making sure they know exactly when different things might be going on the stove or going in the oven. And again, there was that emphasis on preparation. The emphasis was not on the feast or the event that is actually happening that they're preparing for. It was on the act itself of making sure everything is well ordered and really taking one's time in doing that. And the second image that I saw was of pilots who were checking a plane. They were in the cockpit, running down the checklist and doing all the things that I suppose pilots probably do before they take off and making sure that everything was well ordered in the plane. And I saw the words flight check, which I thought was a really nice summation of the theme this week. It's a week of flight check. It is a week of making sure that whatever it is in our life that we might be preparing to move forward on whatever plans we have, whatever we might be setting goals towards in our external world, perhaps things that we are working towards, want to do. Maybe it's something having to do with our internal world. And we have been working on release work or clearing space inside of ourselves, letting something go, processing our feelings. There's so many ways that this collective message might apply to each of us as an individual that can touch on our outer world as well as our inner world. But the emphasis is on the idea of taking our time to prepare and using the time that we have right now to make sure that we've dotted our I's and crossed our T's and made our list and checked it twice and all of those things as much as possible. And the idea behind it is that, first of all, of course, life is always going to come with curveballs. There will be those times that we beautifully prepare and then nothing goes as planned. And that's a whole other lesson on creative reinvention and being adaptive. But oftentimes when we take small practical steps and we make sure that things are well ordered, whatever it is that we're working on actually does move with more peace and more ease. For example, if you were checking things on a plane or a rocket ship that was going to launch, you would want to make sure that everything was well ordered before takeoff to ensure that there is the safest trip, travel, orbit, whatever it is that our flying apparatus is doing as possible. And so that's why we prepare. And right now, there might be a collective sense of frustration that people feel with energy slowing down, even though it feels like there is a lot that is happening in the collective, because there is a lot happening in the collective. But how that might translate to us individually with the various retrogrades right now, all the collective chaos is that we have a sense of plans not happening as quickly as we would have liked. Maybe some of us had an expectation that we would have taken a step or figured something out or had the answer to something, whatever it is in our lives by now. And so we feel like we're not moving fast enough or feel frustrated that whatever we thought should have happened hasn't happened. So if you are experiencing that, you're in good company because many people are feeling that right now. And what we can do in this time is to continue to be prepared and just take care of those day-to-day tasks and making sure that things are as ordered as possible. I actually asked the Akashic Records, can you help us find perspective on what's the value in that? And they gave this really great metaphor that imagine if in your house or wherever it is you might live, if there's a junky corner or a dirty storage space or something that you might walk past all the time and it's not really hurting anything, but it's not helping anything either. And if you were to take the time to clean it up, straighten it out, tidy it, you might have a more harmonious sense of not only how nice your space looks, but you might find that there was new utility in it and that you could actually use it for something that you didn't even realize because you were so used to it being cluttered. And that's the value of having extra time right now or having more time to keep working on whatever plans it is that you're making for your life. It is to be able to attend to the things that maybe you might not bother with otherwise, to look at anything in your life you might have neglected, anything that you know needs to be confronted, changed, cleaned out, decluttered, released. Again, this can be a metaphor for what is happening externally. It might be literal for something you need to do in your life. And it can also be talking about things in our internal self and our emotional self, our inner self. There's also a lot of support this week for creative use of resources and the idea that when we might not always have exactly what we think we need or exactly what we wanted, sometimes we can be very innovative and creative in figuring out an alternative solution. So if our person who is meal prepping and getting things ready for some reason can't access going to the store and they realize they've forgotten an ingredient, how might they be creative with that? They might come up with a substitution and use something that they already had. They might decide to scrap the dish they were making and use what they do have as ingredients and create something different entirely. It might change the consistency of how something's going to be and change the form. There's a lot of different ways that this might come through, but creative use of resources, being creative in how we think about something this week, allowing ourselves to surprise ourselves and to have a new idea, a new perspective on something, a lot of support for that this week. So if you've been waiting for insight or epiphany or having breakthrough on something, the energy this week really supports it. And our card of the week goes so beautifully with this message. It is the page of air. I have been using the Good Tarot by call-up Baron Reed to pull cards for the energy updates on this podcast. And in this particular deck, the page of air is this woman dressed all in white, and there's these beautiful angel wings behind her that are spread out. And it looks like she's about to take flight. So I love the idea that the message this week is flight check. And the card we received has an image of somebody on it who looks like they're getting ready to launch, getting ready to take off. And pages are usually cards that are more of the, we'll call them the freshman in the tarot deck. A page is a beginner, it's a novice, it's somebody who is curious, and they have perhaps enrolled in school for the first semester, and they're really eager and ready to learn, but there's a lot that they don't know. So pages in the tarot deck are never our graduating senior class. They are usually more of a freshman sophomore energy, more in a higher education kind of sense. And there's a curiosity and inquisitiveness and eagerness to learn. Sometimes pages can be a little bit rash and they want to know right now, or they might think they know more than they do. And that's sort of the shadow stuff of the page archetype and the tarot deck. But the light side of it, the side of it that really supports us is permission to not know in our lives and to find that energy of just being curious and open and admitting, well, I don't know. And I'm open to learning and I'm open to figuring it out. Air energy is about the mind, it's about thoughts, perspectives, how we think, how we construct our thoughts and our ideas and the perceptions that might inform how we see the world. Mercury is in retrograde right now, and Mercury is connected to the mind. We also have a new moon that's happening on the 20th, the day this podcast comes out. So I feel like there's a lot of energy right now happening cosmically that supports us to reconsider our thoughts, to keep regrouping, rethinking, and allowing ourselves to be surprised and to be in more of a beginner's mind. I want to share today a couple keywords from this card that are written in the guidebook that goes with it. There's also a few affirmations that really represent the page of air energy. The key words are new ideas, a theory not yet proven, curiosity, and new focus. And ways that we might think about that energy in our life are this calls for greater investigation as we've only scratched the surface. I don't really know. That's interesting. If I explore this way of thinking, what can I learn? So use this week to revisit your checklist, do the tangible things you feel called to do. Maybe you feel called to work with this symbolically by cleaning up something in your life or taking care of something you've been putting off or neglecting, and you want to do a little bit of work, a little bit of decluttering and clearing out around that, and allowing yourself not to know, but to instead stay open to learning and open to how things might unfold. All right, I can see that this message actually recorded. So, second time to charm for this week. I hope everybody has an amazing week. I will be back next week with a new Your Heart Magic episode. We will be looking at an energy update. We will also be tying in the archetype of Sagittarius and how Sagittarius season might impact the quality of energy right now. As always, have a beautiful week and be well. Be love, be you, and be magic.
