Hello my friend in consciousness,
The 9th episode of my podcast is out now and it is called
What if you don't have to do it all on your own?
For this episode I was joined by a wonderful being who talks to everything – plants, animals and the universe – my friend Monica Gilliam, also an Access Consciousness Certified Facilitator.
In this episode we are exploring the topic of asking for support — not from neediness or helplessness, but truly from vocalizing what we require for us to thrive. And that we don't have to do it all on our own.
And as Monica brilliantly said on the podcast:
"The adventure is to discover the miracle of you. You're the only one that's ever been you before... you get to create yourself along the way with the choices that you make."
What is the miracle that you are?

What is it that you would like to have as your life? What would you like to create? What would you like to choose? Welcome to Discovering the Mercury of View podcast. I am your host, Rachel O'Brien, and I invite you to know that you can change anything in your life that is not working for you. And you can create anything you desire. Hello everyone, and welcome to another episode of Discovering the Miracle of You. Did I tell you that was the name of the podcast, Monica?
SPEAKER_01No, but I love it.
RachaelThat's awesome. And today I'm joined by someone who I adore, Monica Gillam. And hello Monica. Hello!
unknownHi.
RachaelIt's important to say hello first, especially when you're an ADD or an OCD, or you're picking up so much information. And then it's actually to be with the person. Hi, how are you? You know, yeah, exactly. So, Monica, we were discussing what we talk about before we come on. We just had like a very brief chat. We don't do a big meet before these podcasts, we're very energetic and we we don't really work well on the structure, but we work very well impromptu and engaging, and what we call following the energy. And so we were talking, and we were gonna call it does everything talk to you? And then we were talking, and Monica was saying that it's so beautiful to know that she's not on her own and she has support. So now the name of our podcast is what if you don't have to do it all on your own?
SPEAKER_01You know, Rachel, it's so interesting because it's like knowing that I don't have to do everything on my own, there's this sense of not that I'm helpless and that I can't do great things, and that I need somebody else to come in and rescue me. It's not that. We're not talking about that. It's which is that's definitely a place that I have functioned from before, you know, like growing up, your parents see you as a little kid, and they talk to you as though you don't know what they know, or you don't know something great because you maybe can't tie your shoe yet, or you know, there are all of these reasons that they have for deciding that you are helpless. And and you know, nobody it's very rare. The people who will actually ask their young children, like, hey, what do you know? Who are you? What have you come to bring the world? What difference are you? Like, what is the miracle that you are? Let's discover the miracle of you, you know, and but we we so rarely get that, and so then in a way, we're trained to assume that we don't know and that we need help, and that we can't be great because we're different, or because we're little, or because you know, there are so many different reasons, and and it seems like we we just get kind of this like barrage of being disempowered as we're younger, and then growing up, you know, to actually be empowered, that is something that is a huge topic that is very exciting for me. That is it's like to explore what you can bring, and to not have to look outside of you to compare yourself to something else that you've already decided is better or knows more, but to actually have a sense of like what is it, what is it that I bring to this conversation? What is it that I know that is different simply because of my journey and and what I am?
RachaelYeah, totally, totally. And I love the way you I'm you're enrolled into this conversation. And so as a little kid, I was quite independent, and I grew up with a single mom. And what occurred for me was I had this thing of I'm strong, I can do anything. And it's it's either it's either way, it can be that you're disempowered to the point of view that you're helpless, helpless, or that you're you know, a big girl and you've got this and you can do it all on your own. And so you can have either ends of the spectrum of those. And I would have I would say that I had both. And even this conversation is bringing up something for me. It's touching, I'm gonna say, my being or me in a new way, where I am so relieved, Monica, that I have gathered around me, I have the most phenomenal people in my living. Like on a on a daily basis, I have people like you that I can reach out to and have a conversation in regards to that to matters that are super relevant and valuable to me, you know. And yeah, sure today, I didn't expect to cry on the podcast. Um, and it's not coming from like victimhood or helpless, it's coming from pure relief that I can show up in relationships and be as different and as strange as I am because I'm I'm I'm a weird one. Yeah. And um, thank goodness. Yeah, I'm a very strange uh I've got a very strange physiology, I've got a very strange functionality, and now I've met a bunch of weirdos that are that are that actually get me and get the difference of me, and they actually support me to be happy. And I'm going to go as far as today and say, my top priority is to allow myself to be me and then have very strong communion, and it's not even connection, it's more like communion with people who have that same demand in the way that they live. And in this case, Monica and I are choosing to live from no judgment, which is it's my top priority, you know. Do I always manage to live like that? No, you know, sometimes I'm temporarily hijacked by someone else say I'm at the mercy of someone else's point of view and judgment, and now I can very quickly I'm gonna say change that, claim out of that, because I no longer require a power outside of me that's greater than me or better than me, let's say, um, to get me out of that. Now I have people around me that can ask me a question, and what is it that you require, you know?
SPEAKER_01You know, it's it's so cool, just like you said, you know, looking at these kind of different ways that we have been that we we like do this weird almost like hierarchical thing and also separation, you know, either where you go, it's my job to take care of everybody, yeah, you know, and I'm I'm the strong one and I'm on my own, or everybody's telling me that I don't that I don't have anything to contribute. I'm supposed to figure out what they're telling me, you know, and and I'd wonder, like if we had this conversation with 20 other people, how many other stories there would be for how people have have built these lives of you know this kind of struggle on how to listen to themselves and how to include that in how they move through the world, you know.
RachaelYeah, and this is and as all conversations for us, this this is we're this is our I'm gonna say this is something that we're very used to having vulnerable conversations. It's something that we wear our hearts on our sleeve, and for other people, I know someone contacted me recently and said, you had a conversation about sex and relationship, and I couldn't even believe that you could talk about this on an open forum. And so for me, I guess I'm I know what kind of a world that I would like to live in, and my sense, what I'm looking to achieve with this podcast, and the target is not from like a result invested in the outcome basis, but the target is for people to actually get clear on what works for them and that they can have all choice in all topics, you know. I was raised in a way that you can do this, but you cannot do this, okay. And so this is where we're we'll talk about every topic so that you can have choice anything that's hidden, you don't have choice around, and so it's it's actually a privilege to have open conversations about life, living, relationships, difference, plants, uh everything.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I mean, it's it's so cool too, because there's this sense of like it is the conversation that like when we were first kind of deciding what is it that we're gonna talk about, and then it was like, does everything talk to you? That was one possibility, and then what if you didn't have to do it on your own? And there's that sense of the the conversation that can enrich your living, and that's the conversation with everything around you, and that within that conversation, for it to really for it to really blossom into what it can be, like you have to be allowed to be there too, you know. Otherwise, allow your voice to be part of the song, you know.
RachaelYou're so funny, you just led into what I was looking at as you were talking, the difference between needing help, okay, need, and the difference between being able to vocalize what it is that you require, you know. And I'm gonna say for me, I grew up around a lot of women that were, they did not include themselves, and so they were, I'm gonna say, slaves to a farm and structure, which was this is what a woman does, this is her roles, this is her responsibility, and so they didn't have that place where they actually were even invited to ask for what they would like to have. And for me, I would have to get angry to get to asking for what I would like to have, or frustrated, or can you do this for me, please? Because my point of view was I should autonomy, I should be able to look after all of this myself, which really didn't allow me to request from anyone else, and it and would from a perspective of my relationship with the universe, creationship. We talk about creationship and access is when me and Monica come together, our living becomes richer, our more life-bearing and life-gifting. And um, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01I mean, it's just I love this the title of this podcast or the name of this podcast, Discovering the Miracle of You, and like that, like that's your mission, you know, that's the adventure is to discover the miracle of you. You're the only one that's ever been you before, and this grand combination of things, and then you get to create yourself along the way with the choices that you make, and then even if you make some weird choices, you can be like, Oh, and then you can create yourself differently, and and so that is like this hugely empowering like like possibility adventure, uh project, uh art creation, whatever, whatever you want to call it. Masterpiece, yeah, masterpiece that you get to play with and like sculpt and shape into the universe. And so that I would call a truly like empowered thing to know, like, oh, I've got this, this life, this living, this this thing that like reaches out into the world and touches others, which is me, my name, my voice, my hugs, my you know, shouting, whatever it is, you know. So, this is this gift that I have that is that I is me. And then I get to be that gift in the universe, and then there are others who are who haven't really been invited to be the gift of them, you know. And so if you're surrounded by a bunch of people who are like mute, and you know, I can totally get why you would be like, I gotta do this on my own, you know, like if you just see others who are like ding, you know, just like shining. But if you do see others who are shining, you know, then there's this thing of like, how can you know that like you can engage with them in a way that's not like, oh, you're better than me or you're less than me. None of that. Just like, wow, what's possible for us together in this moment? And that us can be a person, it can be a plant, it can be a rat, it could be all sorts of things.
RachaelYeah, yeah. Monica's laughing when she says a rat. We had a discussion recently, and it was it was quite wild. Um, I had come back from so, first of all, let me talk about this. Monica has this like miraculous capacity with plants and animals. Like, it's just it's wild. And I had seen a video, I'm pretty sure it was on your like on your Instagram, where there was a rat in your was it in your shower? Yes, yes, yes, yes, yeah.
SPEAKER_01That cat brought him in, brought him into the house, guys.
RachaelYeah, and exactly, and you were like totally relaxed and chill about it, and I remember watching it being like, ah, and so at the time I guess it wasn't like relevant to get present with or see what was going on, and this is for all of you who have any fears in regard to animals, any type of animals, vermin, whatever you're dealing with. And so, anyway, I came back from teaching a class in Geneva, and there was a rat underneath the bathroom floor, and then he's I'm sitting in the loungewood has two big, huge glass uh doors, and he's like literally like he's big, like he's not like a small guy, he's like he's a fat boy, and he walks along, and Troy was. I was like, what the fuck? And Troy was like, What's going on? Because he's never seen me like this. Usually I don't like have that type of reaction, you know. And he's like, the next night I move over to the other side of the bed in case it's like wild, right? This is like I don't recommend this, folks. I am totally insanity here, you know. And Troy's like, what's going on? And then I had this thing when I was a kid, we had a rat in our house, and my mother went loop, loop, diddy-loop, did-loop, just like I had went loop-diddy-loop. And so she fired a slipper out the hallway, blocked the door, moved the bed, like like in Ratatouille, you know, the lady where the rats are there and she gets the shotgun. And so I reached out to you and you said something to me which blew my mind. And it's my point of view, it's a super advanced way of being, it's actually miraculous, which is a shift in perception. You were like, What is he being for you? And for the first, I probably wasn't capable of it before then for whatever reason. Look, everything takes its time, its place. And I just asked the rat, Well, what are you being for me? And he was just doing his thing, like as he'd walked through the grass and and he was there every day. Like this wasn't one, like all the time. And sure enough, I had associated a rat, I had attached fear, which is a judgment. So we talk, we talk in access consciousness about fear, and fear is a judgment, is a distractor implant, and it distracts you from potency, and potency is your ability to choose. And so I had this unresolved fear that I had inherited, you know, um taken on from my mom, as she had probably taken it on from whoever, and it was completely what's the word? Um, you know, when something like has a relativity, the the reaction to it was totally not matching or yeah, yeah, yeah, incongruent, yeah, yeah, yeah. Exactly, exactly. And so I reached out to you, and after having this chat, I asked the rat again, and he was like, Oh, I'm here to support you to have a different point of view, and genuine it. I will say this, you know, the way sometimes when you're on your conscious journey, consciousness receiving everything, judging nothing, everything becoming greater by a bit the willingness to be present, and something shows up, and you're like, no, rejection, refusal. And I had been running a clearing from a beautiful book called Right Riches. What would it take for you to live the energy of your life? And everything that doesn't allow that, right, wrong, good, bad, pot and pock, all 100 shorts, boys, povertz, basis, creation, and beyonds. That's the access consciousness clearing statement. And so the energy of my life attached to this experience was fear and compression and contraction, and it wasn't this peaceful ease space, essentially, you know.
SPEAKER_01I love I love it. I okay, I have a rat story too, and it's from that rat that you saw the photo of. And I'm so glad that you mentioned that. And it's just that, like, well, I just like to start it out by saying that like there really is so much that is so much consciousness that is reaching toward you to consider to you, and it goes beyond comprehension. And this this rat story that I have is uh, I just it feels so magical because it was like I woke up. Well, actually, there was one night that I started to fall asleep super early, like eight o'clock or something. And I thought, this is funny, but then immediately I thought, it's okay, I'm gonna be awake in the middle of the night. Why did I think that? No idea, you know. And then I was like, okay, so I went to sleep in the middle of the night. I heard a sound and I turned on the light, and there was this rat in my bedroom. And I was like, Your bedroom was in my bedroom. And and some people listening are like, my bedroom was the bathroom, and I was like. What a you know, like my cats had brought this rat inside, and I was like, you guys, you're supposed to help me not have rats, not bring them in. And so I I wanted to freak out, and then I just was like, Well, wait, what's going on here? You know, and yeah, and the energy was really beautiful, and it was not what I expected, you know. I like you we're taught throw the shoe, you know, get the shotgun, like move your bed. We're taught all of these different things that are like freak out, but then it was like, well, I'm much bigger than the rat, so I'm not like, but so then so, but but none of that, like there was not even that like I need to kill it or anything. I just was like, okay, what do I do? And and there was just this energy that was so beautiful, and I was like, all right, I mean, I know I don't want to have a new housemate that is a rat. I know that allowed to, and I don't want any rat crawling in my bed, or you know, and so I just kind of like sat there for a while, you know, looking, and and my cats had like chased them, chase it to one place, and then it was like hiding behind this door that the cats couldn't get to, and I was just thinking, like, I tried to open the door outside. I was like, please go out, you could just go out, it's fine. And there was one note where it almost went out, but then it went inside, and I was like, What is happening here? And then it went into the shower, and the cat followed it in the shower, and I was like, All right, just kill it, please. And I went in and my cat was like hugging it, they were like having a tea party, they were like having the most like cuddly moment. The rat what I was wanting, guys. And so then I thought, okay, what do I do? And immediately I just had a sense of like, oh, call this one person. So I like closed the door to the bathroom so that it couldn't like get back into my room. And then in the morning I called this friend and she said, Oh, I know somebody, you know, the person who comes and works on our trees. He has like live traps. We can call him, he can come bring a live trap, we can get the rat out, right? Great. This man came over and set up this trap, and as he was um coming in or out, he said, Oh, that tree right there needs to come down. It's it's not a question of if it will come down, it's when it will come down. It's like rotten in this certain place, and it was in between my house and the house next door. And I, you know, I was like, Oh, you know, I love trees, so it's not like my favorite thing, but I this person wasn't just like going to be cutting down trees for no reason. And so then I told the I ended up telling the landlord, but but it was funny because it was like the moment that he said that, there was something that changed around the rat energy. It was just like there was just this sense of like, oh, the rat doesn't need to be here anymore. And then the rat like actually ended up finding a way out. I didn't get it in the trap, it just found its its way out. And like there was that moment when he told me the thing about the tree that I was like, oh, okay, cool, all the rat stuff is over with, and so then my uh I told the landlord and they had somebody come and you know cut the tree down, and then just a few weeks later, there was this huge storm, and within 15 minutes, like 12 trees on my block went down. It was incredible. I mean, I was just there in in like this huge like and these big old trees all fell down. That tree definitely would have fallen down on my house, on my car, something like that. Wow, money! And I was just like, whoa, thank you, rat. You know, like because I could have all along the way made a bunch of different choices to freak out, to not, to not know that there was something available for me to receive there, to not know that there was something actually really beautiful that like had my back. I just knew it because I asked, was like, what is this? And the energy was like, here, I'm taking care of you. And I thought, a rat? Like, how could it be? You know, and then I could have freaked out, I could have tried to kill the rat myself, but I kept on asking questions, and all along the way I kept on getting this sense of like, oh, reach out to this person, you know, and then follow through with the landlord and all of this. And then when the storm came and the trees fell, and I just realized, like, wow, there were all of those things all along the way that were contributing to me. But I also had to be present along the way to receive it, to like receive the contribution.
RachaelYeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. And and it's beautiful that you know that that miracle was for you. And for me, the day that I walked out the back, the last day that I saw him, and he he walked along, and I knew I I took a little video of him, and I was like, Oh, I'm not gonna see him anymore. It was done, it was done then, you know. And I I I said to Trial, I said, I've received a complete miracle. I didn't even flinch, he just ran across, and I didn't even couldn't. I there was no not like I was just like, oh and for me, something changed big in my world in regard to the way that I guess when we grow up, we don't even recognize how we are infused by people's points of views and judgments, and the way that they influence the creation of our lives. In that moment, I wasn't creating my life, I was in total reaction. And it's one of the things that I don't have to comprehend, I don't have to understand, I don't have to cognitize. I suppose the two of us are true believers in there is a consciousness, a magnanimous consciousness out there, really willing to care for you. But you've got to invite it in.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. You know, it's funny because yesterday, I just before we started recording, I said that yesterday I went to sleep so happy, you know, just this huge smile on my face. And and then this morning I woke up with these little voices of like, oh, this problem, that problem. And I knew, I mean, it's like, well, that's pretty fishy in a way, that like all of a sudden there are these problems. Like, why did I not have these problems when I went to sleep? You know, there is some kind of tweak in my perspective, some sense of the oppression that was just like something's influencing.
RachaelLike, if we talk in the Axis X-Men classes about your zone of awareness, you we talk about the zone of awareness, and in this case, is instead of Monica having this expanded peaceful relaxation relaxing zone, which is very rare for people on our planet, but we are lucky enough to mostly have that, and so there's these zones that are occupied by certain energies, you know, um, and um like where they influence you to be destructive of yourself, yeah. You know, we we call them demons, that's that we call we'll we'll give the clearing. You can find this, um, we'll put it in the show notes. And so if you have something that's I'm gonna say like has a zone where it's influencing and you and controlling you in a destructive way, and your body in a destructive way, you can run this clearing, demons, command with command, go back to whence you came and never return to us and this reality again, and then run the clearing statement, right and wrong, good and bad, pot and pock, all 100 shots, boys, povads, bases, creations, and beyonds, some information, and it's really it's really an exercise in developing the awareness where something mean is looking to impact your relationship with yourself.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, that's really well said. I mean, it was so funny, it was like I woke up and I just didn't enjoy being me. And and I had gone to sleep, totally enjoyed.
RachaelYeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01So, like what changed, you know? Yeah, it wasn't like, oh, I did that really the horrible thing that I should be ashamed of. I was just sleeping, you know. And and so then when I woke up, you know, I know at this point that um those little whispers of like, hmm, you you shouldn't like you, I know that those are not voices for me to listen to, you know. Yeah, just really simply, and so I'm just kind of like, oh, well, that's not very kind, like shut up, you know, and then I do the demon clearing, and then I, you know, but sometimes when you're in the midst of it, it can it can seem almost like like going through the swamp, you know, yeah, and and it was so cool because then I like got on my phone, which is not always the best place to go for more peace, you know. But I got on my phone and I saw in different threads that I'm in, different people talking about what they've been changing recently, and I just felt so delighted that to know that there are all of these amazing people around the world that are desiring to step out of the swamp, you know, that are desiring to like contribute to what else could be possible, and then yes, and and and knowing that like everybody comes from a different angle, so like I can contribute from here, and I can do all sorts of things, and it can have a huge reach, and then this other person can contribute from here, and I'm so grateful I don't have to go over here and you know, I don't have to do it all on my own, you know, yeah, and just to be reminded that like that there are there are truly incredible energies, consciousnesses, presences that are here to contribute to you. And then after that, I like I went outside and I was sitting there for a moment and I just looked up and it was like there was this tree that I this olive tree that's in my backyard that the people who lived here before me planted, and you know, I love it, but I've never really connected to it in a certain way, and it was the first time that I just kind of stopped and I was like, oh hi. And there was this this sense of like this embrace toward me that I hadn't I hadn't really received before, and that even in that moment of you know, kind of waking up being like, I'm not sure if I like this, yeah, yeah.
RachaelThen kind of every day up until years ago.
SPEAKER_01Exactly, exactly, yeah, doing what I needed to do to kind of like just push that aside, and then going out and then having this sense of like the trees, the rats, the cats, the plants, the clouds, the earth, some wonderful people that like there is so much that will gift to you and contribute to you.
RachaelIf you're willing to receive, yeah, and if you're willing to be greater than the points of views of lack and what complaining and judging, you know, beautiful, beautiful. Yeah, wow, that really is a discovering the miracle of you in the receiving from the rat from the tree. And I just want to say thank you so much for coming on and being such an inspiration in the way that you live and the way that you create your life. And the tools that we talked about today are all for Maxis Consciousness. Monica, you facilitate a specialty called Talk to the Plants, is that correct? Yes, yeah. So Monica has this ability, she is a plant room. I've seen the plant room in her house, not in person, but I've seen it quite a bit on online. And so we all have these unique capacities and abilities. And what if you chose to embrace the difference of you? You know, things talk to me all the time, everything talks to me all the time. And instead of making that a problem and using it against you, actually getting organized and productive with those capacities and abilities.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, let's live in a world where we can play with the gift of us.
RachaelYes, yes. I'm not gonna add anything else to that. That is a beautiful way to finish today. Love you guys. Thank you for listening, and we hope this contributes to you wherever you are in the world or whenever you maybe listen to it. Thank you, Mondi. Thank you. Bye.
