What is it that you would like to have as your life? What would you like to create? What would you like to choose? Welcome to Discovering the Mercury of View podcast. I am your host, Rachel O'Brien, and I invite you to know that you can change anything in your life that is not working for you. And you can create anything you desire. Hello everyone in Podland. Welcome to another series of Discovering the Miracle of You. And today we are going to call the episode Owning Your Difference. And I'm joined by a friend of mine, ML B. Hi Mel.
SPEAKER_01Hello. Hi Rachel. Thank you for having me.
RachaelThank you for being here. And we are going to have a, I suppose, a candid conversation about what if you're not wrong, if you're not normal, and then really owning that difference. Yeah. So where would you like to start? What is what is it that is different about you that you claim and own, and that you're, you know, you wear it in your sleeve, you know, you with an open heart.
SPEAKER_01Oh wow. That's a good question. I need to meditate on this one. But mainly, just spontaneously, I'd say my whole life I try to fit in. Exactly. You don't know what I do. And I guess um that's one of our superpowers, too, like the capacity to fit in and perfectly fit in. Uh so basically, I was uh I'm still sometimes a good girl, the perfect student and uh brilliant and successful from this reality, etc. But still something in me was missing. I had this sense of like uh suffocating, and uh with the journey of exploration, access tools, and um bunch of millions of new choices, I had this sense of finally allowing myself to just own my difference and have so much fun with it. Um, because I guess the the the when we try to fit in, we try to belong, we try to be accepted, to uh be maybe validated by the outside world. But when we don't seek anything anymore, we just seek the joy of choosing and the joy of being alive and enjoying life.
RachaelThat's so beautiful. You know, I just realized when you were talking, when you said so, we talk a lot in the show about the tools of access consciousness. Both of us are access consciousness certified facilitators. And to be honest, I am totally in gratitude for the tools because they allowed me to change the way that I live on it in like in a daily basis, in a moment-to-moment, you know, which is like super relevant and it works, you know. That's the big thing about the tools, they work for both of us. So when you said that I started making choices about living, one of the things that's different about me is, and I've only just recognized this right now, is that when you when people make choices for them, in other words, like what is your life for? What would you like to have with your life? When you said that, my my body went relaxation. Yeah, I sensed it, and I was like, I just posed for a few seconds and I perceived it, and I was like, wow, yeah, that's yeah, and and so that's something that is extremely different about me, is the type of body that I have that you can call we call it embodiment, the way that I experience embodiment. And so if I'm around someone who is super stressed, or they let's say they have a lot of distorted thoughts about themselves and feelings, and there's a lot of judgment, I actually become compressed, you know, and not not not as much as what I used to do years ago, because now I have the tools and I can I can acknowledge what's in my zone, you know, what I'm aware of. Um so for me, claiming and owning my difference in in this conversation is that when when people in the world actually claim and own their life, their choices, what they would like to have, the type of life that they would like to live, I actually start to get way more relaxed and way happier. And then, as you said, um you received that I became relaxed, and no one talks about awareness, no one talks about that. I have this whole energetic zone. We call it you're an infinite being, and for me, I require a lot of space, a lot, a lot, a lot, a lot of space, and when I choose that space, everything in my life works easier, and also it impacts other people that I actually engage with, you know, instead of coming into you with stress and problem and judgment and right and wrong, I actually can approach you in a way of how's the male? What what contribution can we be to each other? Yeah, and this is an area where you are extremely different in that you know, whenever I talk with you, whenever we whenever we have conversations about the world that we would like to live in, you always look at what you can contribute, what you can bring to the table, you always include how is Rachel, how's it how's it going, you know? And so for me, that's the type of world, that's something that I will completely own and claim right now. The world that I the world that I would like to create and live in is a world based on what we can contribute and including the person that you're engaging with, including yourself, rather than coming to you at my fixed points of views and droning out your space, um, you know, due to my personal need or what I need from you, what you have to give me, entitlement, um, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and decision and also computation and everything also that we decided that need to be done in a certain way. And that's really killing the magic and the joy and the beauty of the contribution, because what you said is also everything that we don't say with words, but we perceive. And when it's acknowledged, it's created this sense of exactly sense of relaxation and sense of peace, and the body gets relaxed, and then we access more of us, and then we get like those magical shortcuts. I call them shortcuts, but they're like really glimpses of possibilities available that we can finally see and where we can leap and we can create totally differently. And I see that in you and engaging and creating with you, and also as a friend, like just having a talk, having a conversation that creates this blooming of new possibilities is just phenomenal. So, what would it take to have more of that in the word and also having surrounding ourselves with people like that? Because I know for myself, I'm just like I had this choice. I want more people who are just making me just bloom and have fun and enjoy life and enjoy creating, enjoy business in a different way.
RachaelIt's so funny. I just got the image of a hydrangela wearing like we're in hydrangela season here in Ireland, and they're just they're everywhere blooming, purple, white, pink, they're just so gorgeous. And so you said something in regard to looking at what we would like to create with our lives, with our businesses and blooming. So talk to me about what MLB would like to create from I guess what you would say, like a business perspective, or what is it that you would like to generate more of in the world?
SPEAKER_01Wow. As a yeah, I'd say business perspective is not anymore about business and making money. Yeah, because when you start including your life, you start including your friends, your relationships, your children, and and the word itself. It's it's more like generating something different, not only for us, and but also for the word. And the funny thing is like when it's just for us, it's so greedy and it's not expensive at all. For me, I mean, like just creating money for creating money, and so what? And so what? I need something greater and and the purpose that includes the word. So that's maybe one of my asks. Just really having the what will it take for us to include each other much more and create with each other, um, cognitively and non-cognitively, because we don't have to see each other, we don't have to spend hours with each other, but we can just like tick, tick, tick, just connect for a few seconds and really expand each other's word and contribute to each other. So that's um that's a way of looking at life and looking at business from a whole different perspective. There is no projections, there is no expectations, there is no hidden agenda, there is just the joy of sharing, the joy of connecting, and the joy of growing with each other. So I guess that's one of one of uh the asks that I have. Um yeah, and uh and I really um creationship, yes, creationship, yeah.
RachaelExactly. Can we can we talk a little bit more about that for people who may be hearing this conversation and this topic for the first time, and just notice if if this conversation is bringing up we talk about like points of views and strong points of views, um, you know what is business for or for money? Um I love money. You do med is like awesome money, um and one of the things that I have found is if I make it about the money, I cannot receive what the universe is looking to gift me in regard to creating a business with ease. That's the only way that I can talk about it. Um I did a session with a lady in I absolutely adore her. Um, she lives in Florida. I did a session with her yesterday, and it's a private session. And she said to me when I opened the Zoom, Oh my goodness, I couldn't wait to be with you. And I was like, I was a bit taken aback. You know, when people say that to me, sometimes I'm like, oh, I forget, I can forget that one of the things that one of the elements, I guess you call it, um, of a business, a thriving business, is that when people come to me, they know that I am there to support them to create whatever it is they would like to have with their life. And so I do come in with this no projection, no creation, and creationship is creationship, is not only a relationship that's romantic, it is business, it is family, it is friends, it is colleagues, it's with the earth, it's with money. And so one of the things about creationship, which is which is my demand of myself, is that by the two of us coming together, that it creates greater, that we don't live in an insular universe, that we don't live in a vacuum, that it actually is about creating greater for both of us, not me getting what I want from you. Um we call it avarice, get more money and use you. It's actually about including you and both of us becoming greater. And so one of the one of the elements of generating a business for me is people actually know when they come around me that they're that they're living, that their experience of living becomes greater. And and you you said something earlier. Living ceases when judgment is at the table, you know, and you talked about like blooming. And what I've noticed when people come to maybe we'll talk about um creationship with your body, there's this beautiful, there's these beautiful classes in Access called three-day body classes, which both I'm a facilitator of the three-day body classes. Emel um offers body processes, and she's an amazing body worker. And so, one of the things that I've noticed in our world is as we're talking about what you would like to have with your life and claiming an own in your difference, I didn't come here to suffer and have pain and upset as a reality with my body, you know, and and one of the things probably I came into an Irish family, very Catholic, you're Algerian, Muslim, I guess. Yes, yeah, um, and so we both came into a lot of points of views about it's pain, it's suffering to have a body. And one of the things that I've really claimed and owned about me is I do not have to live that way. You know, I do not have to live. I claim and own that I actually enjoy beautiful things, enjoy living, enjoy smiling. And what has really supported me to have that is getting you know the body processes of access consciousness run whereby you can transform any, you can change anything that you've locked into your body that is not allowing you to enjoy having a body.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, the joy of embodiment, yeah. That's something that's something that people need to look at, honestly. I guess yeah, when like look at a child playing. I was recently I am exploring again the joy of movement with my body. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm an I'm a martial artist, I even study like fitness and like creating programs for people, etc. And I love lifting, I love, but I love also listening to my body because my body most of the time is showing me something much greater than what I decided. And recently I was looking at the the mobility movement, those type of movements that are basically uh helping the daily life uh journey. Yeah, exactly, functional movement, etc. And I find myself just laying down on my back and playing with my my legs like a child, like a four-year-old child. And I was like, wow, wow, thank you, buddy, for showing me something different because how much it's it's wrong. Okay, you're an adult. How come? Okay, either you do a session, either you just go do something else, do business, be serious, be uh respectable, be whatever like the the the all the craziness of boxes of this reality. So it's like coming back to what you said around creationship is like really if we choose, and I love the demand, there is this demand in your word. I'm like, no, I'm not choosing all the craziness around body, I'm choosing joy, I'm choosing to explore something different. So it's it's starting with just one demand, one choice, I'm choosing different, and then follow the hints and the lead and the exploration and the thread, and keep pulling, and you're gonna just find you're gonna definitely never land where you expect it to land because it is not linear at all, but the journey truly worth it. And I'm sure that's yeah, and I'm sure that you have a lot of stories to tell around that.
RachaelI am continuously mind-blowing about what occurs when body processes are run. The body processes like usually are a gentle touch on a body, and we call up some energies. And someone will come in with a trauma or a point of view or pain that they've locked in their body, and we'll run these body processes, and sometimes they might be tears, or let's some movement of energy, they could be panic where someone saw something as a kid that they weren't supposed to see, or something was done to someone where it wasn't um consensual, and they locked points of views into their body, and so initially, someone may go into the trauma or the upset or the pain of it, and by being space and allowing the body to have its own energy, its own, I'm gonna say like vibration, what occurs is that anything that is not ease, joy, and glory, anything that is not the being of this person, it just falls away. And as someone who did a lot of bodies that didn't work, you may not know this. Um, I had done bod years ago and it was extremely hard on the body. Um, it was like not fun. And so I was asking, I truly know that there's a universe of consciousness out there. There's this like uncontrollable universe of oneness and infinite possibilities, otherwise, I wouldn't be alive. And um, I was asking consciousness, he I can sense the joy sometimes, but the joy, I'm gonna say like I lost my baby heart or I lost my soft or the lightness and the joy. And I remember the house that I'm living in right now. I remember sitting out in the back and being like, I require some type of bodywork that's gonna light up my cells again. It was like my cells adapted to life being difficult, life being hard, you know. And Axis bars showed up. My sister called me, she was like, Hey, there's this thing called Access Bars, and I went and had my bars run, and it changed my physiology, it changed the way that I experience having a body. And so I um I just looked at a video before we came on to, you know, to meet, and it was a video of all the body classes that I facilitated, and people picked the most beautiful photographs, and so I've seen people like in sadness, and we'll ask a question of their body hey, what does your body know beyond this you know, duplication of somebody's sadness, and we'll run a process, and the person will start like beaming and smiling and laughing, and you know, giving themselves permission to claim that they actually do have a joy. And I would say one of the things that one of my targets with creationship with your body is that you're actually allowed to enjoy it, you know. Um one of the things about fitting in in my culture, in Irish culture, I'd I'd like to know what it was like in Algerian. It's okay to be happy till like you're seven, and then you have to get serious, and then it goes to results, and then once you become 13 and you go to high school, we call it secondary education. Then it's like, no, you must be 17, you must look at your future, and all the results and the judgments are piled on this beautiful, unique individual, instead of really looking at like what is a natural capacity for the person and what is it that they're capable of and what is it that they're choosable. And what I love about this is like money is not about what you do, it's a choice. Am I willing to have money? And it will come to you, it will come to you in ways that you can't even imagine, you know. Yeah, exactly. So in Irish culture, sadness is um sadness is very much part of the culture, um, problem lack. Yeah, I guess there's not enough, there's not enough, there's not enough. And so I was fitting into all those lives instead of actually owning that I don't have to live like that. It's an abundant universe. I can actually be happy, I don't have to be sad. I don't have to complain about what I don't have. I can actually enjoy being alive.
SPEAKER_01And enjoying being different, because you you will just bother and trigger people around you when you just join.
RachaelOh, totally. And I would say, like, for me, fitting in every every time that I went to fit in, if you like had degrees, you know, if it was like every time I I tried to fit in, the degree of which I didn't diminished myself became larger, you know. I would give up. You're supposed to be sad because this occurred. Okay, I'll be sad. You're supposed to react like this because this occurred, okay. And so all that tick, tick, tick. Every moment that I decided that it was unacceptable to be me and fit in. Now I'm reclaiming all those places. And and for myself, it's not about anyone else. No, I'm not gonna live a structured this is how I'm supposed to behave, this is how I'm not supposed to behave, this is the way I'm supposed to be, this is the way I'm not supposed to be. I actually have choice and I respect your process, but that doesn't mean that is true for me.
SPEAKER_01Exactly. And I love what you said, it's just the image of the baby heart just melt my whole universe because that's what I perceive also in body classes. I love body classes. I did more like I don't know, 50 body classes, something, and uh and and uh it's really this this cover, let's say, or this wrapping where we wrap our magic or superpower or our difference in the lies, in the packaging of lies of what we've been told, or what people allow us to choose till now. You know, no, you're not allowed to be loud, you're not allowed to behave like that, you're not allowed. This is childish, this is not possible, this is immoral, this is this, and this is that, and all those lies start disappearing. And and body classes and body processes are phenomenal just to bring clarity, clarity because it's not only happening during the three-day body class, it's happening much later after the body class. Things start traveling, and everything starts moving in a very nonlinear and different way, and it's just brilliant. Uh, so yeah, and and and I really love what you said around the cultural programming because every country has have his specific point. And it's funny because I was talking to a friend of mine two days ago, and I was like, Yeah, Algerian, that's in my DNA. They're right, they want to be right about everything, so they know everything about any topic and they need to be right. So I'm like, okay. So yeah, I guess that's that's that's funny because we finally uh we are finally free from that. So we can laugh about it, but some people are still stuck in it, and it's not wrong. But maybe uh someone who's listening, if you're stuck somewhere, ask what lies am I buying that I'm not acknowledging. I know for myself that I and I'm still like I even have a notebook about oh, the lie, and I just put what is true for me just next to it, and I'm what I'm choosing, yeah. Exactly. So it's a journey, but it's so much fun, it's really fun to explore.
RachaelTotally, and let's give people an inroad. Um, let's give them a tool that's going to allow them to identify a lie. So, one of the things that we talk about in Access Consciousness is what's true is light for you. There's a lightness, there's an expansion. I'm going to use your blooming, like the hydroangelo blooming, and then what's heavy is a lie. And so I would say, still in my day, I live from quite a few lies, you know, and I'm detoxing them all the time. So if it's true, it's light, and if it's a lie, it's heavy. And what creates the lie is either you're resisting something, you might be resisting, choosing what's light and fun and ease, or you know, there's something that you bought as true or that you've accepted as true, which is which is not true. And so for me, it's getting much faster now to recognize when I've bought a light. It's like I we talk a lot about following the energy, which is not a linear program, and it's like walking through the desert without a compass. And so, what's light will bring you this joy and expansion, you know. Me looking at your face, like the like the joy that's coming through your face, it's just like it's just so beautiful, and you know, a light could be anything that is like a distortion, any any way that you start thinking or feeling about yourself, you're not good enough, or you don't deserve this, or you can't be happy, or you're wrong, you're wrong, you're wrong, there's something wrong with you, and and so one of my favorite tools is what's true is light, and what's a light is heavy, and then choose, which is this is a practice, ML, isn't it? Yeah, totally it's a muscle. Choosing what is going to bring you lightness is there's nothing in the world for me that that's greater than knowing that I have a choice to not be sad, to not buy the lay, to not, you know, shut myself down, close myself down, to actually truly live with a communion with these joy and glory.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, I love that. I love that. And and if I can add something, I noticed for myself around I I noticed how much my body was showing me the lies that I wasn't necessarily willing to acknowledge or look at. Yes, you know, even the lie that you tell yourself and the lie also coming from outside. But the the most interesting way is like more you start engaging with your body, and instead of staying in your head and computing, just dropping into the body, you know. Usually I touch my body in the in the chest or on the on my face, and it's like, hey body, what is that? And I noticed recently that frustration for me, I know that for me, anger is maybe a big sign of lies, but frustration recently was like, Oh, there they were those all those lies that were telling myself that I, for example, I can't choose that, or I can have that, or oh, that's too much, or that's too expensive, or that's too big. And those lies were showing up when I was lying to myself, like started showing up in a shape of frustration. And as soon as I just acknowledge, oh no, that's not true, this sense of peace and relaxation and space started showing up. Yeah, so I love what you said around the compass. And for me, the compass could be the body, our bodies are it is.
RachaelUh, I I know my compass is my body for sure. It'll show me, you know, the lights that I bought are anywhere that I'm not really honoring it, respecting it, holding it in regard, have my reality, and what Emel did with putting her hand on her body, like you can put your hand on your body right now. I love to put my hand on my heart and just be hey, everything that doesn't allow me to be soft and open, you know, and anything that's eroded your kindness, or you know, if you've been exposed to a lot of meanness and heart, which everyone just be like, hey, I'm gonna have I'm gonna have my own back, and I'm gonna choose to care for you and to support you and to actually give you a beautiful life.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. Oh, I love that. I'm gonna keep the baby heart thingy. It's my new ask type, yeah. Baby heart, wake up. It's just so beautiful.
RachaelIt came from Shannon Shannon O'Hara. Um, I was in a class with her, she's an access consciousness facilitator and creator of Tots CNTs. She had done an exercise with the baby heart, and it's just so beautiful. So there's another person who contributes to me having more lightness, more fun, more joy. Thank you for being here with me. Um thank you for having me. Oh, you're so welcome. And if you want to check out Emel B, Emel is living in Ahalane in Emirates. And um check us out, check out Access Consciousness. What if you didn't have to live by the lie that you have to suffer um in this world and it's hard work? What if you could actually enjoy having a body and allow yourself to make choices that that allow you to truly live?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, and how much fun also is available that we can do now.
RachaelThanks everyone. Bye for now.
