Because they don't necessarily have that. But I'm a big believer. If you hang out with those people, you'll become one of those people. Right. If you hang out with like the people are like winning and killing it, and like they're obviously doing something right unless they were completely just handed, like everything in life handed. Like they just live in royalty. Like that's all different story, right?

But as far as like the go-getter and all that, if you hang out with those people, there's a pretty good chance you'll become one of them. But if you hang out, like the not necessarily losers, but somebody that doesn't hold their self-negative all the time. Yeah, higher standard, and they're just kind of like bumming around, you know, like uh like don't poor boohoo me, poor me, then you're gonna be one of those. So you know, pick pick a side, right? So I choose to be on the oh, like that guy's doing something right.

I feel like too, a lot on the like seeing people on the Instagram or the you know those kind of things, and you see what they're doing. A lot of time it gets me is what people are doing with their time and stuff. And it's like, what are you why are you wasting your time doing that? But really, it I mean, if that's what they want to put their money and their time into, and that's what makes them happy, then good for them. Like, I've like, you know, some people are probably like, or you're putting a shop up. Why would he put a shop up? He already has a garage in his house. Like, yeah, you know what I mean. But it's like, no, if that's what Ori wants to do, and that's what Ori's working towards, then that's what Ori that's cool. Good for Ori. You know what I mean? Like, I don't want to have a KTM, but when I see Damon working on his KTM, it's like, dude, good for him, you know. Like, dude, he loves it. He's, you know, I don't know. Yeah, I I don't know with the mentality thing. I mean, when you get those negative, and sometimes you I have those negative thoughts. Oh, I do too. It's like, dude, what is this guy doing? Why are you, you know, you don't have money for you can't afford that, even though I have no idea. But it's not out of jealousy, it's out of like curiosity. Maybe, right? Because you're curious. You're like, what is he? I also heard what's he got going on, right?

Yeah. I want to add something on the Instagram too. E mentioned Instagram. You'll you'll notice a lot of like people will post just their highlights. You know, they're only posting the highlights, but then they never post like the intermediate and then like the lows that people have that they may have. I have no problem posting. Like, if I had a bad race, I'll shape like, oh, I had a horrible day. This is the worst race I've ever had. Like, I'll post like good results, but I'll also post like dude, this was not a good day, or bad day at the firehouse, or whatever. I have no problem posting my lows too. So like I think that's healthy also. You gotta do like, dude, like show show your whole life, you know. Like if you're gonna do Instagram, do be the Instagram influencer model, show everything, just don't show like the the you know the fluff at the top.

He clearly it isn't concerned about what you're concerned about, and now you're judging him for this. And it's like, Oh, ah, you're right. So I don't know. I just the whole gossip though, but with the wives thing, I'm into that, or like people watching with the wives, and you're sitting back like, Oh, are you seeing this?

You gotta imagine what the job is gonna look like when it's finished before, and then you shape it to what it is. I don't know. I feel like I got nothing. I got nothing, bro. I'm just down the middle. Yeah. I don't think I don't feel like I'm particularly like I excel at this one area. I'm just okay.

So both of you guys have very high stress points in your jobs, right? How do you guys deal with those those peaks of high intensity or high stress? Like, do you guys handle that pretty good? Yeah, while you're at work, like it's going down. Like, are you pretty nervous and revisited?

Do you I because if because if you are the whole the whole call, the whole call's gonna snowball. Yeah, because everyone everyone's gonna react based off of you. Yeah, okay. If you got someone yelling, screaming, and they may have a weapon or whatever, and you're in like a life or death situation, okay, someone especially so screw you, yo, blah, and then you talk to them normal, hey man, like instead of and they're like, What? And you just normal tone, dude, relax, or not relax, but like what what's going on? Just normal voice, a lot of people bring that back down. It doesn't work all of the time. I need that. It doesn't work all the time, but there's other times when you have to like step it up too. It's so it being in a stressful situation, everyone's gonna react off of you because you're supposed to be the one in control.

Time, time and experience. Like they they teach they try to teach you that, but like you go to year two, three, Ori, versus year ten. A lot different. And especially where I'm at now, the very very rural area, like you don't know where backup is. So you better be you better know how to talk to people. Um and and you think about it too, like your people are calling you on the worst day of their lives. Uh like, yeah, he gets to go catch cats out of trees and stuff, and everyone loves him. But like when people are stressed, and no, they they call him too. Um, but but they're looking to you for guidance. So if you're there and you're stressed out, you're making everything worse. So just and it's a lot of fake it till you make it, it is kind of stuff. Yeah, just if you don't know what's going on, just act calm for that.

If you're reading the room and everyone's like cool, calm, collected. Oh, they it's under control, right? They know what they're doing, but uh like Ori was saying, if they're freaking having a come apart and yelling and screaming, like, oh, this is out of control. I better start yell start yelling and screaming. Something's gonna fix it, right?

Yeah, we've we've had some few people like you get them into the back of the ambulance or whatever, and you're just you're you're trying to hold them down, and then it's like sometimes you're telling them, dude, can you help a brother out here? And then they they put that in there, yeah, and you could watch them and they're trying to fight it, fight it, and then just yeah, and they fall sick.

Yeah, so has that skill that you guys have are developing or developed, does that transfer to home, or do you feel that you you save up some of that you've used all your calm at work and you get home and you're just like I I think it's it's helped me, but I could definitely see how it's it makes things worse.

Why I guess first responders get a lot of divorces and stuff like that, because they could they fix every uh everyone else's problems, but they don't know how to fix their own. So they keep at work, they may be the best firefighter ever, you're right, but then they have stress and then they don't know where to release it into whether dirt bikes or having a hobby or whatnot, then they release it onto their spouse, and then or they're or they're using alcohol or something to cope with stuff, and then then they're there's their relationships bad or whatnot. You see that a lot, yeah.

And they call it I'm sure you've heard it, they call it compassion fatigue. Have you heard that term? Oh yeah, yeah. So and it's no bash to my wife if she listens to this one, but kind of what Ori was saying, we we go on people's worst day of their lives, right? So say I went on a like a cardiac arrest, and it the outcome is not good. We got a pronounced mom or dad dead, and kids are standing in the room, and like, hey, like, why is my mom not coming back? And then 10 minutes later, my wife calls me after I just ran this horrible call and was like, hey, I just stub my toe now. Yeah, and my wife wants me to be like, Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, are you okay? After I just ran this horrible call. And so you gotta find that balance of like, okay, I still have a family life, right? I still gotta care for my wife and care for my kid, but I just freaking ran this horrible call. So like you're finding that balance, and like, yeah, it's like you're your brain's trying to it's firing back and forth, and you just want to be so mad that my wife just like wants to feel like.

Yeah. I'll tell you something that I kind of struggle with is and I'm sure you you get it too, but like when I the the clientele that I interact with usually is always putting you down. Just not everything's negative. You're the worst person in the world all the time. And then when I go and it it has it doesn't happen all the time, but like say you're in an argument or or something petty is said and that where whether it's a friend or a family member and they say something similar to put you down that maybe bad guy would say to you, that cuts me hard because you're like you you I'm not I'm not saying my wife, I'm I'm just saying friends have done this, family members have just made comments saying something that some that maybe a bad guy would say to you. And that's like, oh dude, you're I love you so much, and you're just cutting me out of the knees.

Dude lately, mine's just being outside. I want to work on my yard, I want to do things, but it's so hot. I like to be when I had my shop in my last house, I like to just go out in the shop and tinker on something, build something to get my stress out that way. I when I when I was into running, running helped a lot. Yeah, but I haven't been running at all lately. But no, running was it's hot, yeah. Yeah, if you could focus on like exercise or something like that, it really helps. But no, mine's just being outside around my house, my yard. I have gone into rage clean cleaning before, but then I get mad at everyone, yeah. Because it's like, why is this toy on the ground? You know what I mean? Why is your clothes on the ground? Yeah, and then I turn into an into a butthole.
