The Crew Talks About Derek Gets Stung By A Scorpion, Spiders, Sting The Wrong Thing Around Customers, Dressing Up To Go Out To Eat, Local Mexican Restaurants, Cait Moved Out, Traveling, And Other Nonsense.
Welcome to YouTube. I'm Derek hanging out with Abe and Kate. Yo beautiful today. What's happening, buddy?
SPEAKER_01Fucking rocking it like a hurricane today, bro.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, no more uh hurricanes lately.
SPEAKER_01Ah, dude, no shit. How about that weather? That last one. That last one was fucking gnarly. Dude, it was gnarly. I showed you my tree. There was more after that. It wasn't so so bad, but that one was the worst.
SPEAKER_04Well, it depends on where you're at. True. Because if you're in town, like that one there, I didn't get shit. Yeah. But you get little pockets over here of I got shit over here, and then I talked to Rhino. He's like, it's not even fucking raining here, you know. So it's a weird thing. But I uh start off with scorpions. We had talked about scorpions recently.
SPEAKER_01Did you get one in the house?
SPEAKER_04Yeah.
SPEAKER_01Oh shit.
SPEAKER_04Remember how you your buddy wanted to go scorpion hunting?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah, yeah. When the kiddos came over.
SPEAKER_04So I'm hanging out with Kate about a week ago. We're hanging out at night and going to bed and I'm gonna turn everything off. I actually turn the TV off, but I'm laying on the couch. I put my foot down to get up. I just like fire, dude. Like I I jump up, I got my phone, I'm trying to hit the flashlight to look what's going on. I didn't see shit, but I knew I was bit or stung. So I fucking like hobble into Wendy just went to bed, so I I hobble into the bedroom. I'm like, I just got stung or bit. Just like by what? I and the first thing that came to my mind is just like I've never been bit by a scorpion or stung. First thing I thought of, I'm like, it was like a scorpion bite or something. So I go back out. I mean it it was a rush, dude, of heat and burning. I go out and turn the light on, I'm looking down. Sure shit, there's like scorpion.
SPEAKER_03Baby guy. Yeah, about two inches big. Do you have to do anything for poison control or something?
SPEAKER_04I don't know.
SPEAKER_03I just well, of course we freak out. He's like, I lost my foot, but I was in bed for one second.
SPEAKER_00He knocks on the door, comes in, he's like, I got stunned by a scorpion. And I I thought he was joking with this weird I was like, what? And then he's like and goes out. So I go into the living room to like check, and my mom's on like her hands and knees with a flashlight, like look like looking for this thing.
SPEAKER_04I didn't see it at first because it just blended in with the carpet, but I I must have stepped on it, stunned it. It stung me, I stunned it. Right. But it wasn't dead because she grabbed like paper towels to pick it up.
SPEAKER_00She's like, I don't want to pick it up. And I'm like, I'll fucking get it.
SPEAKER_04I'll I grow grab it, dude, and it was moving. But and so I got stung and it was like a like a wasp sting made. Kind of burning, yeah, yeah. Real bad burning. Now we're googling.
SPEAKER_01Do I have to go to the hospital or not?
SPEAKER_04Yeah, I'm gonna die. Like, I'm like, I think it's swelling up. And most of the time you're probably gonna have to amputate it. I just got a fat foot and small. Yeah, yeah. And I put some ice on it, woke up the next morning. Fine. It was totally not even an itch. It was just gone, but I stepped on a scorpion, dude.
SPEAKER_01Jenny had that with a tarantula. We're sitting at home one time and she goes, Oh, what the hell? And she looked down, tarantula crawled over her foot. It was a little guy, not a big guy, maybe two, three inches. What's the girl? Little, little guy, like like that, that big. But he crawled over her foot.
SPEAKER_00We had a tarantula here.
SPEAKER_01Huge.
SPEAKER_00Fourth of July. Yeah, it was probably like that big. Huge. It crawled out right by my dad's foot. And he's like, and well, I wasn't like I was being dramatic.
SPEAKER_04I mean, it was the size of this drum, dude.
SPEAKER_00It was I tried to pick it up to bring it to the field, but it was really scared and like stunned. I didn't it didn't want no part of anyone. I let it go. So we yeah, we just let it go.
SPEAKER_04Let it go, but it had a big blonde spot right in the back.
SPEAKER_01I know I pick them up at Jen's parents because they get them all the way that are at the base of Mingus on the way out of town. So they live in one of those communities prior to you know going up the mountain. And they every time it rains, all the uh like you have to be careful looking over the fence because they're on the wall. Oh shit and they'll probably come up. Yeah, so I I pick them up with the cardboard and then they're fine, they're pretty much one time and it was doing this to me, and I was like, ah, it's okay, buddy. Yeah, I think I go, You want me to tickle your belly? I'll tickle your belly. I love spiders. Spiders are my thing, so I'll I'll uh I don't mind. They're your thing? I love spiders, dude. I'm spiders.
SPEAKER_00I like certain spiders.
SPEAKER_04Not even Spider-Man says spiders are my thing. No, I'm not sure. I've never heard someone say spiders are my thing.
SPEAKER_01Spiders are my thing. I uh put on an extra pair of legs at night before I go to bed. I grab Jenny and I web her up and I'm gonna see but a biter, you know.
SPEAKER_04Like, so do you ever like you don't kill spiders?
SPEAKER_01Like, I if I can pick them up and move them, I I usually do. And you just move them. Yeah, I'll grab them by hand or just just jumping spiders are my favorite, the wolf spiders.
SPEAKER_00I used to have a jumping spider as a pad.
SPEAKER_04Those are oh, they're those black ones with the red?
SPEAKER_00The little hairy ones that are they they come in different colors.
SPEAKER_04But those wolf spiders are gnarly.
SPEAKER_01Wolf spiders are awesome, doesn't it? The way they jump and move, and they're like they're cool. They're cool. But I don't want one. Black widows are the only ones that I'm like, because I gotta get rid of the I work on the houses a lot, and so when I'm down there, I'm like, fuck, dude. Like they're so fine. You get out of here. Black widows aren't so bad. My brother, when he was a kid, went to go put on his rollerblades, and just because his sock, you know, when your sock doesn't feel right inside a shoe or something, he pulled his foot out. That's so funny. That happened to my friend.
SPEAKER_00The exact same thing. She went to put on her rollerblades when she was a kid, black widow bite on her feet.
SPEAKER_03Those are gnarly.
SPEAKER_01Dude, and they get you sick. Like you don't die, but you can get you can get kind of sick for it.
SPEAKER_03Sick. And brown recluse. Yeah, that'll kill that'll fucking they eat your arm off, dude. Yeah, they start eating your skin.
SPEAKER_00Tom, he had a black or uh brown recluse bite on his earlobe, and literally his earlobe was like deteriorating away. Yeah, just eat your skin. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And then it's weird, our buddy Don Don Moore. Don Moore. He got bit by a oh no no a radioactive. He got bit by a black widow in Jerome after working down in Cottonwood. He goes, I had to lay in the back of the truck, I was so sick and pale.
SPEAKER_00Oh my gosh.
SPEAKER_04But his wife, maybe Mary Joe. Mary Joe. She got bit by a brown recluse, and she's a skinny little string bean. Her leg was just gnarly, dude. Swollen. And then she got bit uh two more times by a brown recluse. So we lift it up. There's Google. Have you ever heard of Google? That's an inside joke. But uh Google says that once you get bit once, you're prone to get bit more. Why? There's something that they put in their poison cracks.
SPEAKER_01That tells other spiders like or the other other brown recluse.
SPEAKER_04So like come get your it's very common to be bit more than once. Fuck that. So yeah, just don't get bit once. You should be okay. I've only seen those a couple times. I thought I got bit. You shouldn't talk about it.
SPEAKER_01I thought I got bit in the balls one time, but they were just swollen. That's all.
SPEAKER_04Look at the size.
SPEAKER_01I look at the size thing. It's a grapefruit.
SPEAKER_04I thought I got bit too. I don't forget that night because I was out back smoking, just scratching my balls. When I found I knew I had the hernia because you could tell. You could kind of feel it. But man, I I was actually like start playing with my balls. I'm like, holy crap, man. Like my right ball was the size of a racquetball. Like the size of your whole sack. And then the other one was all tiny. I'm like, babe, come feel this. And she goes, I don't really feel it. I can see it. I'm like, man, I've just been living like this. Like this is how I live life. That's that's how I live life. You know, if you don't notice it or don't look at it, you know. It's not there. It's not there. You know, kind of thing.
SPEAKER_01I was gonna say, speaking of touching yourself, I was telling you guys about this funny story. So I'm at this customer's house and um doing some work, some drywall work, right? They broke the drywall, so I'm sitting there cutting out the drywall, prepping everything, getting ready, and then these are transplants from Chicago, right? Nice folks. And so the husband goes, husband and wife are sitting in the living room and I'm in the hallway working, I can see them. He goes, Hey Abe, so what's your uh favorite Italian spot here in town to you know do delivery, right? And I go, Well, the problem is, you know, we live north of you know delivery. I go, you get no delivery out here. I go, your best bet is you're gonna have to go on the app and and check what the Pornhub will deliver. And the husband went, and I went, I mean Grubhub. I'm sorry. I said Pornhub. I said Pornhub to them, and then the husband's like, I don't think we'll be checking that. And I was like, I'm so sorry. I meant Grubhub, like Freudian slip. I'm just um what? I told Jenny she's been laughing her ass off ever since, like she cannot stop laughing. Check out Pornhub. Check out Pornhub. Okay, they got plenty of Italians on Pornhub.
SPEAKER_05Italian category.
SPEAKER_04Oh, dude. Just yeah, stupid stuff.
SPEAKER_01Just shit that you're like, God damn. And then they were great, you know, and I've been back to do more work and everything, so it wasn't like it bothered them. But but I'm still fucking every time I see them, I'm like, hey guys. I'm gonna be in the shirt.
SPEAKER_02She wear a porn hub shirt.
SPEAKER_01Or just you know what? Or like work hub, just the you know, construction of a system. Like, I see everything hub all the time.
SPEAKER_04I was years ago delivering uh furniture. I was a furniture guy for I was a furniture guy for years, and we get in, they have this parrot, they she had all these birds, and I'm like, man, these birds are so erotic. And she looks at me and she's like, You mean exotic? You're like, no, I want to fuck one of the birds. Okay, man. Look at him, he's flapping his wings, look, he's looking at me funny. Yeah, he's saying weird things.
SPEAKER_03Oh my god. So where did you tell him to go?
SPEAKER_01I I I didn't, I told him You just lost it.
SPEAKER_04I told him to go to Portnot.
SPEAKER_01I'm like, I gotta go. And they're like, you're not done yet. I'm like, yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm done. I gotta go. Um no, the only closest thing that we have in Encanto. In canto? Yeah, I mean that's they're like right there, and they're and they have their own delivery guy, and since we're close enough on viewpoint, they've delivered it like Jen and I.
SPEAKER_04The little guy?
SPEAKER_01The mention.
SPEAKER_04Right? Yeah, he was here Friday. Yeah, he's the one that does. He tried to get all the deliveries podcast one time, and then we were hammered and like, come on, dude, get out of the podcast.
SPEAKER_03And he's like, No, I have to go. I gotta go. I gotta go back.
SPEAKER_04And then I ran into him at Rusty's or something one time. I'm like, hey, remember me, the podcast guy. He's like, Yeah. Dude, Rusty's too. Oh my god. I love Rusty's fucking love rusties, dude. So he came Friday. We ordered a bunch of stuff from Encanto, and I was out here doing something. I was busy because I couldn't talk to him. He was standing right here. He even came into the garage to say hi, and I'm like, oh, I was on the phone or something. I'm like, hey, buddy, yeah, I still want to get you on the show.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, fucking with him.
SPEAKER_04You know, we need a midget friend, and we do, uh, and an Asian. Um I still need an Asian and a midget friend.
SPEAKER_01You got a Mexican.
SPEAKER_04I got Mexican, I got black. You got plenty of whites. Yeah. Too many whites.
SPEAKER_02I need to keep it We need an Asian, then we need a midget. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Human's race shows.
SPEAKER_01Have you ever uh heard that John Mullaney bit where he talks about like he's on a he's gonna do a stand-up thing and the producer's like, well, your stand-up's fine, but you can't see the the word midget. And he goes, What do you mean? He goes, Yeah, it's it's bad, kind of like the N-word. He goes, I don't think so. If you're talking about two words we can't say, but you can say one of them, I think the other ones worked.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_01He's like, we're saying midget, so I think it's okay. What's wrong with saying midget? I think they prefer little people, but why?
SPEAKER_04If I was a midget, which I'm damn near a midget, I would say, call me a midget, man. That's funny.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I don't I don't know.
SPEAKER_04Like, especially if your name was Mike or something. Midget Mike, you know. I call you Eminem. Hey, you know Midget Mike.
SPEAKER_01You know Midget Mike, bro. He's been around. He's like, Where? He's like, Oh, he's back here. You can't see.
SPEAKER_04Well, Italian here, yeah, roses.
SPEAKER_01Yeah. They're they're okay. My parents love roses, but they like the one downtown better than one in Prescott's better.
SPEAKER_04It's way better.
SPEAKER_00Um Gabrielle's.
SPEAKER_04Gabrielle's. That's good. Gives me massive heartburn.
SPEAKER_03Uh Papa's downtown is our favorite. There's another one here in Prescott Valley, though. Yeah, not La Bruce's. Um where it used to be uh New York. Streets of New York. Yeah. That was really good. Chow Bella.
SPEAKER_04Chow Bella. Yeah, you go. They're really good. Yeah. But they're small, and you gotta wait. I'm not into waiting. You know, like I'll wait a few minutes. You know, hey, give a table in five minutes or ten minutes, whatever. But you go there, like our first time there. Oh, it's about a 45 minute wait. Like, what the fuck? And I go, oh fuck that. No, just take our name off, and they go, oh, wait a minute. Just you two? Yeah, I got you. They pop out a table right by the bathroom for me, you know, just like an old mobster.
SPEAKER_01That's the kind of shit I want.
SPEAKER_02Like you walk into the city. Oh, I'll get you a table, right? Yeah, you come in, huh? Yeah, shut up in your face.
SPEAKER_00I had time to go to fries and go shopping and came back and still waited. And then it was like so busy in there, like packed, that even like the service, like the waitress, just took forever and ever and ever.
SPEAKER_04I'm trying to think if it's packed, it must be good, right? Like I mean, that would be the thought.
SPEAKER_01We went opening week, what, like a year or so ago? Opening week is a big thing. It's always bad. It's always bad. I know, I know.
SPEAKER_03But it's exciting because if they just opened, hey man, let's be in the fucking fruit. It was garbage, though, didn't like it.
SPEAKER_04See, now we waited a month, like a year till we went. It was dynamite. I don't even know what I ordered, but it was great. Sure. I think I got a a small pizza and then maybe a chicken parmesan or something. That was almost French.
SPEAKER_01Is this chicken pom?
SPEAKER_04But it was good. Never been back, so it's not like, oh, we gotta go back. But I like Fizzoli's, dude.
SPEAKER_01Brofulies? Then I get a drive-thru fucking lasagna.
SPEAKER_04I love fizzolis. The pizza was like from school, you know? Yeah, yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_01When you got a fucking bread tangle pizza. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04I liked fizzolies though. I mean it was cheap. Twinky.
SPEAKER_01You know what? I will not turn away from an olive garden. I'm I'm I'm still to this day, like, alright, I'll go have fucking. Yeah, people shit on Olive Garden. I don't mind it.
SPEAKER_03It's not the best, but I don't mind it. Like I'm a little different than don't mind it.
SPEAKER_04That is like oh shit, excuse me. That was weird. Breathe, breathe. Quick. Um that's like our fine dining. Let's get dressed up. And go to Olive Garden. We're going to Olive Garden. You know?
SPEAKER_00I mean right there with Red Lobster. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01And fucking Red Robin, you get dressed up and go to Red Robin, Red Lobster.
SPEAKER_04Red Robin's good, but not Italian. But yeah, I I do like well, Wendy gets all you could eat bread and soup and salad.
SPEAKER_00We don't have a lot of places here in town that are like actually dress up and fancy and nice. Like I think all of them and Red Lobster are the limit.
SPEAKER_01There are a few. So there's like uh uh the copper note downtown. Yeah, there's a few downtown in press getting $300 a meal uh uh farm provision. But even farm provision or something. But even farm provisions, dude. I went in there last time. Shorts, a hat, like pops and shit. Like I didn't care, but early shorts. But you're spending fucking two two hundred bucks for like jet.
SPEAKER_04It doesn't matter what you wear, your money spend is the same. Yeah. But I'm not going well, I'll go into Murphy's and T Top or whatever. Murphy's been there forever. It's pretty fine dining. Do you like dragon? I mean, are we going to dragon these fucking nuts crashes there for?
SPEAKER_01No, I was gonna say uh the the Baron Dragon downtown. I've never Oh dude they're great, they're across the street from Bill's Grill. Oh, okay. And they're a little more upscaly, but still like you don't have to get dressed up. But they're too. But they're good.
SPEAKER_04I you don't ever have to get dressed up at anything that we have locally. Yeah. Really. But it's fun to do. It is. I like dressing up.
SPEAKER_01I do it when I was thinner, it was funner. I do it uh more fun.
SPEAKER_04I like funner. No, I think funner is a word. Uh-huh. I'll dress up at weird times.
SPEAKER_01That when it doesn't call for it? Yeah. Yeah.
SPEAKER_00Just like to like step brothers when they show up in tuxedos. I thought it was kind of fucked up. You showed up. I thought it was a bit.
SPEAKER_04Catch up. Onions. But I'll dress up. Hey baby, want to go out? You know, go on Chili's or something. And then yeah, okay, I'll get dressed and let's go. And I come out with like a button-up shirt and some slags and cologne on and like necklace and shit. And she's like, She's wearing like an old fucking limp biscuit shirt. I'm like, I thought we were going up, babe. I thought we were going to chilies. Should I go change? I'm like, no, no, let's just go. But I'm wearing like a Kangle and shit. I'll do weird shit like that just to go out and like out of the blue. Just to fuck with it. Yeah, yeah. But then I'll go somewhere nice and I'm wearing a Dodger shirt and flip-flops. I I give a shit.
SPEAKER_01I'd rather go comfortable, bro. My money's green. Yeah. Like I'll pay for a high-class smill. Like, but I want to go comfy too.
SPEAKER_04Like uh, oh shit, what's going on here? Okay, like when we're we're taking this cruise, they have one night everyone's pretty much in bored shorts and you know, just cruise clothes. But one night they have a dress-up night.
SPEAKER_01Oh, no shit.
SPEAKER_04So I wore my white pants and a nice button-up that I left down, a couple buttons unbuttoned, you know, and put my cool necklace on and looking good. Wendy wore a dress. I forgot shoes, dude. So I I had fucking tennis shoes.
SPEAKER_01So I got some homeless guy stolen. That was a different trip.
SPEAKER_04So no, I I end up. It's like, okay, I either wear this white pants in my get up with flip-flops.
SPEAKER_00Your white pants?
SPEAKER_04I I bring my white pants for a cruise. I'm only allowed to wear my boots.
SPEAKER_00You didn't bring your your boat shoes to go with your Hawaiian streets.
SPEAKER_04I didn't have boat shoes, but I'm getting them now. That's the one I'm getting at. It's like, dude, I had tennis shoes. They were like black Nikes. So I just put those on. So I'm like, you know, like if you started panning me down from the top, you know, my hair's done, I got cologna, I got old necklace, nice shirt, white pants, and then here's me in these tennis shoes. It just ridiculous. So I told her this time I need some kind of like some boat shoes. Some yeah, something like even some penny loafers or something, you know.
SPEAKER_01Some something fucking slip-on snazzy.
SPEAKER_04Little snazzy armadillo fucking skin thing. Something good. So I'm making sure to bring shoes. She already bought a dress.
SPEAKER_01It's so funny how people judge on your shoes.
SPEAKER_04Like, because I I could tell a lot by a man's shoes, where they've been.
SPEAKER_01Well, I've been buying these expensive ass pairs of shoes. They're called uh ons. On clouds? No, just ON. On cloud. That's Walmart. Um and it's fucking offs. It's like 200 bucks a pair. But like I'll walk in in a shirt, shorts, and a little bit like this guy, and they look at the shoes, they're like, oh, sir, welcome in. Oh yeah. Oh, yeah, hey. Fucking a snazzy shoes.
SPEAKER_03They're like, oh. Well, you could deceive people by certain things like that.
SPEAKER_04Fake the punk, buddy. You know. Pretend to be the guy. I wear my Italian pinky ring. Yeah, people think you're legit, huh? They're like, oh shit. That's why they brought it up. Yeah, that's where they brought the table out, man. They're like, oh shit, this guy's legit.
SPEAKER_01Like this guy's made, bro. He's got action.
SPEAKER_04So.
SPEAKER_01Have you ever seen the movie uh made? Yeah. With this bond. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I like that. That's good.
SPEAKER_04Love that movie, bro.
SPEAKER_01We were talking about it today. So what's the action like, huh? What are we looking at?
SPEAKER_04What are we looking at?
SPEAKER_01We're in looking at that shit's my favorite, dude. I fucking love that movie.
SPEAKER_04So it is Tuesday today, and I'm thinking, since we're talking about Italian food, we I went to Taco Tuesday for lunch today.
SPEAKER_01Uh huh. Where'd you go?
SPEAKER_04Plaza Bonita.
SPEAKER_01Plaza Bonita.
SPEAKER_04Six bucks, dude. You get three tacos, rice, and beans.
SPEAKER_01Are they hard show white beef?
SPEAKER_04They're hard show with uh ground beef. That's the problem. I like the shredded beef.
SPEAKER_01I like I like like Garnersada street tacos. Yeah.
SPEAKER_04You can still get those. It's just that's not the deal. Right. Neighbors pulling up, but whatever six bucks, you know. Sure. And it was great. And that's I I keep trying. Venture off and be like, eh, let's try this. Let's try. Haven't been to Oliv's now in ten years. Olivas? That yellow one up front? Is it like a triangle house?
SPEAKER_01Oh, bro. You love that? No. Oh, dude, okay. We have friends that love it, and we went there. Well, everyone asked.
SPEAKER_04Like, I got customers. Oh, yeah, you go on tacos and go go Olivas. So I'm like, you know, I haven't been there. I used to not like it. So let me go try it again.
SPEAKER_01Anybody who's a listener, I'm not trying to hate on your thing. And again, the thing that always works against me is that I am Mexican and grew up with authentic Mexican food. So it's hard for anybody to to kind of hit the mark with me. For sure. But but yeah, that place I had some issues with.
SPEAKER_04But we haven't been there for years, and I've been hearing different people telling me, oh man, I love it. And I'm like, fuck it. Well, it's our go-to. I'm like, geez, babe, you want to go out? It was one of them Sundays.
SPEAKER_05You're not gonna get dressed up if we could go out.
SPEAKER_04I partied Friday. So uh Saturday was kind of a wasted day. We didn't have anything to do, so I was lounging around doing shit. Right. Sunday, I'm like, dude, we gotta get out and do something.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04Hey, I'm gonna take you to lunch, you'll leave us. We get there. Wait. On a Sunday at noon. It was a freaking half hour wait. But we're there this night. I'm going, we're we're here now. Let's fucking do it, right? Get in. The best thing that think of the best thing I had there. I ordered a shredded beef taco, ground beef, and shilada, a combo two. The best thing I had there was uh Sierra Mist. It was nice and bubbly. Sorry. It was very bubbly, like you lose your breath.
SPEAKER_03It was a really good carbonation. Crispy, crunchy.
SPEAKER_04The tacos sucked. Like that was my second favorite. The taco had no flavor. Good meat, but no flavor. I dip into that freaking enchilada with the ground beef. One bite. I'm just like, I can't even eat this, dude. And Wendy's like, eh, so Yeah, but fuck that place, dude.
SPEAKER_03We won't be back. Yeah. Like the only reason we've gone. Because friends take you or something. You meet up.
SPEAKER_01Right. And then they think they're like, as a Mexican, they try to like, oh bro, you're gonna love this. More authentic. It's more authentic. You're gonna like this place. It's really not if you're you're fucking with me.
SPEAKER_04If we went to your house and that was your authentic, I'd be like, I'm going back to fucking American Mexican.
SPEAKER_01You go to my house, we get you we cook up some bomb shit, like Jenny makes some bomb.
SPEAKER_04See, and I don't know that I'm really authentic looking for authentic myself. Because I love plaza and it's like white people taco night. You know, like but I I but I will get like their uh carnitas or their freaking you got good they got this pork thing that's really good. You make your own tacos, they got good fajitas, they got but ground beef tacos, but I get the shredded beef. But it's pretty white. I mean, really, and I think that's what we just gotta stick to.
SPEAKER_02Right.
SPEAKER_04Hey, there's our little baby.
SPEAKER_02Oh, no babies.
SPEAKER_04We got a baby here. Yep, no hiccups this time. No hiccups. Yep. So stick to white people tacos. We're gonna take five, go say hi to the baby. We'll be right back hanging out with stereotype podcast. Ooh, foreshadowing. Welcome back to the inventory. She's not doing that. She already did.
SPEAKER_01Nice. My um uh uh family was talking about trying to get a family member to come out here, and they were like, Oh, would you be able to put them up for a bit? And I'm like, Nope. I'd rather fork out the cash to help them get their own place before like dude, I I like my and I know you get you have kids, Vinny, and everything's a little different, but God, I love I love being in my underwear, getting up in the kitchen, and Jenny gets mad and she's like, close the shades, we're so close to the neighbors you're gonna see.
SPEAKER_04F those neighbors.
SPEAKER_01But I dude, I love getting up butt ass naked in my house. Um as I should, yeah.
SPEAKER_04Okay, so that shit's my favorite. Kate moved out uh over the weekend, got her own place. Good for you. Um he had a sleepover.
SPEAKER_01Okay.
SPEAKER_04So we have the house to yourselves to ourselves. Oh, that's awesome. And hey, maybe something's gonna go down. I don't know, right?
SPEAKER_01Did you start romancing her a bit?
SPEAKER_04She's still locking the bedroom door and shit. Dude, I'm like, no, it's here. That's what I'm like, you never know. Let's go to the living room. But in a weird way, you just never know with these idiots. That's true. These kids just show up and you know, like, hey.
SPEAKER_01Bro, I've done that. I've done that to Jen's parents.
SPEAKER_04Uh I'm drying my clothes, uh, giving her a massage. You can't pull that off now.
SPEAKER_01You know, they're like You're like wrestling and I'm winning. You guys never heard of nude wrestling. He's like, whatever, whatever, whatever they were doing, dad was winning that way.
SPEAKER_04Well, see, I could I got a tracker on Vinny's phone. So you know where he's coming. Well, I know where he's at. Yeah, you'll know it's weird because it'll say they're coming home. But then they pull up. But no, they're like just a half mile away. It'll say Wendy arriving home or Vinny. Because we got this family tracking tracker thing, whatever, yeah, yeah. And I put mine on too, because I'm like, fuck it, you know, just in case. Whatever. Now Wendy's like, I saw you stopped at the bar for an hour and a half. I'm like, I need to turn this shit off, I guess.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah, but we were also tracking her going to Coles and stuff the other night.
SPEAKER_04Well, yeah.
SPEAKER_00So it goes both ways.
SPEAKER_04But when they yeah. When they come home, it'll say they're home, but they're not. I know I have like a minute, you know. Right, right, right. So I can like, oh, I better fake like I'm sleeping. So I don't have to put something.
SPEAKER_01Yeah.
SPEAKER_04But with no one here, it's like it's just it's nice. It's nice.
SPEAKER_01I must admit, I like I know we we we probably missed out. Maybe, you know, not having kids, but I also do love the fucking just getting up and doing what we want, going where we want. Sure. You know.
SPEAKER_03Having our fun. I love it too. But I had And like on a whim, I'm like, I got both.
SPEAKER_04I got both. Yeah. I got the kids. One thirty-one and just moved out.
SPEAKER_00There I'm not 31.
SPEAKER_04Well, you're what thirty?
SPEAKER_00I just turned 30 a couple months ago.
SPEAKER_04Was it 30? Okay. Babies. Yeah, so it's my 31 year anniversary coming up soon. Okay, yeah, 30. Okay.
SPEAKER_01Oh, so Kate was at your wedding. Technically, yeah. Technically.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, she was, actually. Yeah, I remember our wedding we had champagne and Wendy tossers to the side. Wendy, no, she's a rural goer buyer, dude. Like, she is by the book.
SPEAKER_02Yeah.
SPEAKER_04And oh, you can have like a half ounce of you know, for a cheer's she had orange juice. I'm like, here's our picture. She's got orange juice, I got champagne. Yeah, yeah. It's like, but that's good. I mean, she's totally opposite of me, and sure.
SPEAKER_01You would have pushed it to the limit for sure.
SPEAKER_04Opposites of track, you're right. Yeah, yeah. Yeah. So cake got her own place and she's slowly building her own thing. Nice. So good for you. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'm happy for it.
SPEAKER_00I'm I'm pretty thank you. I'm like really proud of myself, honestly, for everything that's been like just like, you know, putting all the money down for the house and buying everything we need for the house. I'm like, honestly, feel so good to know like this is my money I've worked for, and I've you know, really done this myself because I know 30 years old, that's nothing.
SPEAKER_04Great accomplishment. I remember being proud of myself too when I was 17 and did that. Yep. Hey, some people take a little longer. Well, that's what I'm saying.
SPEAKER_00I know I'm a little late, but yeah, like this is the first time in my life that it's really actually happening for me because my whole life before I've had like boyfriends and stuff that you moved in with take care of me, and yeah. This is the first time I'm like completely on my own.
SPEAKER_04Well, you're not really on your own, you got a roommate.
SPEAKER_00Well, yeah. But I mean, as far as like I don't have a guy to take care of me and control me and want to no so I'm saying I'm proud of her right now.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, yeah. Expect her to be back by Christmas.
SPEAKER_01After 17, shut the fuck up. You never went back home at all. No. No, after 17. That's it. You moved out. I went back home once, so when I was in college, I went out on my own at 18 at Well, I was eighteen.
SPEAKER_04I did I I moved back at 17. Okay. I moved out at fifteen, moved back at sixteen, moved back at sixteen, and then came back at seventeen for about two months and then joined the army and then took off. But yeah, there's no looking back.
SPEAKER_01It was time for you to figure it out. I stood with my parents before I because I got married in uh Cali before I moved out here. First wife, and then which surprising enough, she got remarried this weekend. It's crazy. Oh yeah. She got married here in town. Yeah. The ex. Um, so m we moved out here. When we moved out here, we lived for with my parents for a couple of weeks till we got our own place. We got divorced a year later. I moved back to my mom's for two weeks, moved in with my buddy. I met Jen, and then So that's just like somewhere stay for a couple weeks. Right, right. And then yeah, so I met Jen, and then I was 23, 24. Jen was 21, 22, and we're like, we should move in together. It was like two years um after we met that we're like, oh, we should move in together. And then we went. No, we got our place right away together. I stood with my mom's for like a week or two, and then um we were living in our apartment for two years, and then we bought our Jen's dad bought the house that we rented from him. But before he got ready, we had to go do two months at my parents because they were closing escrow and then they wanted to.
SPEAKER_04You're you're in between.
SPEAKER_01Right, right. But that two months when I was 25, Jen was 23, living at my parents, we'd have to sneak in a six-pack. And my mom was like, What do you guys do? Like, oh, we're going to bed for the night. Or clinking. Close the door, clank, clink, clank, clank. And then we're like, Steve at the same time, too, was trying to get us a place, so he moved to his mom's in Chino, and his mom's, or his parents are hardcore Mormon, so you know, none of that. So he would call me up and he's like, because it was my parents in Chino, his mom in Chino, right? She was like, What are you guys doing? We're like, nothing bored. He goes, You guys want to go drink somewhere? We're like, yeah. So we'd run a safe way, grab a 12er, and he would take us to the dam in Chino. Okay. There's like some dam out there or something.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, and we would just literally park out there and sit and drink high school stuff. No, I I had gotta take this back because I did move back with my mom after the army.
SPEAKER_01For like a little bit.
SPEAKER_04Because Wendy was pregnant with Kate. And we moved, left Kansas, moved back to Prescott, and I moved in with my mom for probably six months or something. Which my mom remember we used to, where's Rita? She's back.
SPEAKER_00She's back.
SPEAKER_04She called me. I've talked to her for a while.
SPEAKER_00She texts me like every day now.
SPEAKER_04Does she? Yeah. Okay. Like she's back.
SPEAKER_00That's nice.
SPEAKER_04We found her.
SPEAKER_00That's nice.
SPEAKER_04And I I was all buzzed talking to her. I answered the call, which was a Kate was in the hospital at the time with the baby. And so it was a it was a weird number that I usually don't answer. But seeing that she's in hospital in Phoenix, I'm like, fuck it, I'll answer it. And it was my mom. She's like, is this my son? I'm like, Mom, hey, where the hell you been? What's going on? So I taught her how to video call and text and sure, what's up?
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah.
SPEAKER_04You know, just hanging out. I was excited. It was fun. So I've talked to her a few times in the last couple weeks. So Rita's back.
SPEAKER_01Rita is back.
SPEAKER_04Rita's back. Where's Rita? We should have had some margaritas for Rita. I well, I did. You're like, I had a for lunch. I'm gonna get her on the podcast. I told her, hey, would you call in if I called you sometime, we'd talk and tell some funky stories of she's like, okay, let's go. So she's alive and kicking and doing good. So that's good.
SPEAKER_01My parents just got back from fucking Greece and Egypt. So yeah, they went on that crazy trying to outdo you, right? Oh, bro. Yeah. Well, again, my parents now. So unlike Kate, who's worked on her own and is, you know, really made a go for her life. My parents had to buy a house to get rid of my brother. No, they're they're they're they're purchasing a home and they're renting it out to my brother. So he and his uh um new family he's trying to start and everything.
SPEAKER_04That's great to be in that situation where you can do that. Help out a family member and but it's not a joke. We do that. Right. Well, it will be an investment too. But you gotta get rid of this dude. Well if I gotta go buy a house.
SPEAKER_01Well, my mom got, and I know she liked it, but I think she also got the bug for traveling because you know she was always watching my niece and nephew. Um when my brother worked, you know, my mom's retired.
SPEAKER_04How old are those kids?
SPEAKER_01Uh uh 14 and uh nine. Oh, well, that's not too hard. No, no, no. You know, they take care of themselves, yeah. You know what I mean? But they just need someone at home, and so you know, my brother got his own place now in Chino, house and everything, three bedroom, two bathhouse. Is Sam? His Sam, yeah, and then his ladies moving up from um Cali, potentially, with him here and doing all that stuff. So, but because of that, now that the kids are gone, and you know, my dad's worse than around naked. Well, that too, but my dad's worse than you as far as the vacations go, bro. He's worked at Ace for like 20 years, that he's got like six weeks a year in vacation, dude. Like that dude's got the I want to go somewhere, bro, and so they did like ten days in Greece, which was like that's gotta be great. Just oh, I want to I think that might be a good one.
SPEAKER_04Greece I would go to I watch a lot of weird TikToks and YouTube videos of people that I'm traveling on this fucking train in India, you know. We were watching it last night, and I'm talking to Wendy going, I don't think I'd do that. No desire, like I to do that shit. No way, like there's people just robbing you like it's no dude.
SPEAKER_01Greece was just Greece looks beautiful. That's all they did.
SPEAKER_04But when I was younger, like I would want to go to the off-path places and try trippy shit, you know. Now I'm like full to worst. Like, where am I safe? Or where do other Americans go? You know what I'm saying? Like I think after I'm not gonna be like, oh, I'm gonna find this town no one's been to.
SPEAKER_01I think after the world cup I think after the World Cup people learn to kind of be a little bit better with Americans that were people, people don't fuck with us anymore, I think, as much.
SPEAKER_04Um well they had real bad taste in their mouth about us.
SPEAKER_01For the longest, yeah, and then we changed their minds with like hosting that was that was a big step that helped, but you're still gonna a lot of people not everyone watch soccer.
SPEAKER_04So like even like, oh dude, this is a World Cup, man.
SPEAKER_03Come on in.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, come on in. Um my dad's in Egypt was okay, not so bad. A little third world y.
SPEAKER_04Well, no, see, I see I see a lot of Egypt where they go to the pyramids and shit, and it's just what a scam. It's scam just overgiving. Yeah, because people will come up with Oh, here's the price, it's free. And then you're like, oh, okay, and they're like gonna get money. Now that they won't even let you go look at it because no, you gotta go with me for the tour.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, I gotta get the dude and it's a free rate. So my my parents and my aunt actually set up an actual tour guide prior to landing, a professional one, even though you pay a little extra. And he could speak the language, and they're gonna guide exactly, and they're gonna guide you and really have your best interest.
SPEAKER_04Because me and Wendy would be there, like, I guess we're going with this guy. Right.
SPEAKER_01You come back all robbed and fucking drugged, and then Wendy's like, I'm fighting, you're like, my butt hurts.
SPEAKER_04Why am I wearing this robe? Why am I wearing this robe?
SPEAKER_01Fucking switch clothes with but um my dad, they they did all the adjustment stuff, but my dad was the only one who paid the extra to go down into one of the actual like tombs and the pyramids, dude. And he said he was showing me photos, dude.
SPEAKER_04That's what your dad deserves. Like, I want to do this.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, yeah. I don't know if I could my mom was too afraid to go like down and be confined in those things, but my dad was like, fuck that, I want to go Chicksa. We would do that in Mexico, dude. We used to go to the uh Chichenitsa, which is the pyramids in the uh in in uh not Cancun. Um Casmin. Uh uh is it Cancun? South, way south, Yucatan. Um, and we went down to the those pyramids, and we were going into some spots like that you're not supposed to go to. Yeah. But like the Torpebo weren't seeing us. We're like, that's fucking. I watched too many movies and weird shit, man.
SPEAKER_04It's like, didn't we just come this way?
SPEAKER_01I'm like, I got possessed by Mexican, but then he realized I was Mexican already.
SPEAKER_04I'd have to bring a huge, huge bag of popcorn or something, and leave like a little popcorn.
SPEAKER_01Because once you get down there, they all look like it's a good thing. We were going we were going through and it was like really thin, and we had like flashlights on our phones and everything. And it was flip phone days, right? Because it was this was a while ago, and we were like, fuck, like we better go back before we get lost because it's exactly that, and thank god we found our way out.
SPEAKER_04But especially when they start fork in the road, bro, like, oh, let's take the right side, and then you come back out, you're like, you just get so lost, you're like going back the same way, and these kids I've seen too many cave movies, man. And then we like cave movies.
SPEAKER_01We went to this place called um Eshgaret, and it's like a uh theme park based around the Mayan things. They they have shows and the Mayan dudes a Mayan theme park? Like a Mayan theme park, and what it is is they they have the guys that do, you know, the little circle thing where they used to play the basketball or their or the soccer. It's kind of where like soccer originated from, but you can't use your feet, you have to use your knees, hips, and elbows. Okay, and they hit this ball into this thing and they light it on fire and they play with like sticks on fire. Anyways, they had these um never played that one water attractions where it's under all these caves that lead out to the ocean, and they give you just a life vest, and they're like, okay, and they throw you in this river, and you just float down this river under this whole mountain thing, and you come out into the ocean. Like it's fucking nuts. That like that shit is bothering. That sounds cool. We used to do that shit growing up. My parents would take a look at 30 years ago.
SPEAKER_04Yeah, now I'm like, I don't know. You know, like fucking, you're gonna lie on fire. I'm gonna go flying in. No. Yeah, dude. I just I realized I'm not that dude anymore. But that sounds fun. You know what'd be fun? We could be viral, make our own YouTube channel doing weird games. The buying games, weird shit. Yeah. We just think sure.
SPEAKER_01Like, sure.
SPEAKER_04Let's play it.
SPEAKER_01Let's let's try some of those old games. Uh what they would do is light the ball. You'll know what I'm talking about, like, once you see it.
SPEAKER_04It's it's their I'm picturing like Harry Potter, you're floating around throwing a fireball.
SPEAKER_01I don't know. So it's like uh uh they have these big cement circle things that sit up and it's two walls like that. So it's like two walls, two canyons, and they have to get the ball into that hole up against the wall. That's a prison game. But but you don't you can't use again your feet, you can't use it's only like elbow, chest, and knees.
SPEAKER_04Oh, I get you. That's why he's hoping.
SPEAKER_01And that's why yeah, and that's how you play it. Like you gotta do that would suck. And then sometimes sometimes way too high. Sometimes it would light it on fire and you'd have to play with the fucking thing on fire. So it's like these guys. These guys are gnarly. So they actually do like a live performance that you sit and have dinner and you watch like do that shit. Dude, it's high. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. These Mayans didn't fuck around, bro.
SPEAKER_04I didn't realize Mayans played games. Yeah. Honestly.
SPEAKER_01And then they got conquered by the Aztecs and the uh Spanish. So you know.
SPEAKER_04So is he ready for another vacation?
SPEAKER_01Oh, dude, they're planning. I think the rest of my parents' lives is gonna be them traveling everywhere. Just traveling around.
SPEAKER_04They should have just rented out the house to him and they boogied.
SPEAKER_01Yeah, no shit. And just take off and dude, it's cheaper to live. What's that thing where people are finding it's cheaper to live on uh on cruises?
SPEAKER_02Cruise ships, yeah.
SPEAKER_01Cruise ships than it is to fucking like live at home or have a house to like fucking go live on a cruise ship, dude. Like, why not? Um my parents, thankfully, I think I've mirrored my relationship a lot because of them, but they like each other. They they they remind me of you and Wendy, like they actually enjoy each other's time. Well, not a lot of couples are like that, you know. Not a lot of people like want to go out and or one couple does, the other one, or one person in the couple does, the other one goes in. I don't know I'm a recliter. Uh and and and my parents thankfully have always been on the same page with everything that they love to go out and travel. So like they're doing they did Europe two years ago and they went all through Spain and Amsterdam and France and everything.
SPEAKER_04So like my dad's all that stuff, like I really want to go abroad and check things out. Right. And now I'm not sure.
SPEAKER_03Just because it's safe You know who gets scammed and who gets robbed and shit?
SPEAKER_01People who are stupid and don't pay attention. Be aware of your surroundings and you can be safe.
SPEAKER_04For sure. You know, but it's easy to get out of your comfort zone just by like the guy's so fucking friendly, dude. And right, you know, I'm like, I know we're cool, and next thing you know, they're robbing you.
SPEAKER_00You'd be a good scammer, dad. Cause you're really good at like talking to people and like making people feel comfortable.
SPEAKER_04But that's genuine people. That's genuine. I don't rob people.
SPEAKER_00What the fuck was that?
SPEAKER_04No, like not in a bad way, but like well, you're good at talking, you can uh I do that because I genuinely talk to people, but now I'm not liking people as much.
SPEAKER_00I know that. Just you've been talking about that lately.
SPEAKER_04Just I don't care. I like who I like now.
SPEAKER_00Yeah, because back in the day you'd be like, we'd go to Circle K, you'd be like, hey, everyone's invited back to the house. Let's go hang out.
SPEAKER_04I brought strangers home. Let's party. And now I'm just like a social moth. You know, just when the light hits right. Dirk's calling, it must be drunk. Otherwise, fuck you, man. You know, come on. Yeah.
SPEAKER_01But traveling, I think you and Wendy too have always done that.
SPEAKER_03Yeah, and we like it. You like it. She's my partner, man.
SPEAKER_04You know, we're broke. We rock this shit out. That's me and Jim. We get into it, we get our plan. We're planners. We're planners. Like, we don't just oh, look at whim it out, dude. Let's just show up. You know, Jim. We did that back in the day, but now it's like we ain't doing that shit. Let's just go. Let's go. Uh-oh. Someone here.
SPEAKER_03Uh it looks like more shit Kate over. Yeah. Oh shit. More baby shit for Kate, you know?
SPEAKER_04No more baby shit, man. So, hey, well, let's wrap it up then. Yeah. We're thinking about changing the name back to stereotype podcast just for fun. Sure, sure.
SPEAKER_02Or the Derek T show. The Derek D? What does the D stand for? It was T. Oh.
SPEAKER_04But yeah, wey, thanks for hanging out with uh Derek T. A B and Kate C. Kate C. I know, he's A B. I'm Derek V or whatever, so. Whatever. We'll see you next round, man. The C stands for crazy. Take care.
