Are Health Care Workers Resilient? Ep4
Feb 06, 2023 Season 1 Episode 4
Peggy

There is an assumption that Healthcare workers(HCW) are resilient, strong people.  They are used to traumatic situations and survive.
If asked to explain the meaning of resilience  as a Nurse, Doctor or a Paramedic in relation to your work situation, do you think you can comfortably describe that?
In this episode a scenario has been used to describe a day in the life of a Paramedic, Emergency Department, ICU and theatre staff, including that of a Trauma Surgeon, how they survive a shift and the effect on them as professionals. Remember their day is inclusive of their daily routine in addition to unexpected changes such as a resuscitation event.
Listening to this episode, maybe the term Resilience could have a meaning more than what you think you understood it to represent.
Another generalization is that MEN DON'T CRY, is this real in a real life situation?
The episode is published in two stages.

Let us listen and share experiences to can conclude the statement that HCW are resilient. Do you agree?
