Our current sermon series beginning in April 2026 has been looking at the Old Testament prophet Daniel. This Old Testament book has been cherished by faithful Jews and Christians for generations. However, as Christians we read the book from the perspective of its fulfillment in Christ.
Today, we looked at Daniel 7:1-28. This week's sermon made 10 points which were --Apocalyptic literature has a purpose possibly foreign to us; Apocalyptic literature can be both strikingly simple and terribly troublesome ; Horror of human evil can be especially seen in human government; God has and will derive glory from the flow of history; The reader should have hermeneutical humility as we seek understanding; Readers have risen to faithful heights and fall into terrible errors; We see but the iceberg tip of reality around us; The people of God are meant to be joyful as they await deliverance; The Bible is meant to be read as a whole; Jesus Christ is the key of and to history .
