We’re back from vacation and back behind the mics!

In this episode of The Body Representation Series, we kick off our conversations around sexual liberation and wellness by asking ourselves some of the same questions we’ll be asking guests throughout the series: What does sexual liberation actually mean? When did we realize our bodies deserved pleasure exactly as they are? And when have we felt the most free in our bodies?

The conversation gets personal as we unpack shame around pleasure and masturbation, learning to trust ourselves and our partners, the impact of sexual trauma, performing for other people instead of experiencing our own pleasure, and realizing that sex, love, attraction, intimacy, and connection don’t always mean the same thing.

We also talk about finding confidence later in life, exploring sexuality without forcing ourselves into a box, the freedom that comes with becoming more intentional about who gets access to our bodies, and how boudoir, fashion, and simply allowing ourselves to feel sexy helped change the way we see ourselves.

And because this is still The Body Representation Series, we’re also talking about the relentless policing of fat bodies and getting into some online conversations about fatphobia to the idea that loving yourself somehow means you’re “promoting obesity.”

Content note: This episode includes candid discussions of sex, sexual assault/trauma, masturbation, body image, fatphobia, and adult language.

Welcome to our sexual liberation era. 💋
