Welcome to the night show, except in the morning radio edition where we're coming at you sort of live and kind of on your radio each and every morning. It's Monday, March 30th, 2026, and we've got an incredible show for you today. We have announcements sports updates. Bible with me. And a whole lot more. So buckle up those seatbelts and don't touch that button. Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements.

SPEAKER_02

Moms in prayers Monday morning. Also, this Friday, no school. Good Friday. Celebrate the Easter weekend with your family. But we'll be back on Monday morning for Flowering the Cross. You'll get more information about that in your weekly notes. Also, varsity baseball versus Grace Christian doubleheader tonight. And high school softball versus Grace Christian. Come on out, support the Knights. But now it's time for the diceyest section of our show.

SPEAKER_03

We have weather with Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls.

SPEAKER_02

Weather today, high 65, low 44, mostly sunny. Mr. Holland, how do you help a sad astronaut? I don't know. Well, you just give him some space.

SPEAKER_01

Oh man, all right. Now we have the most educational part of our show we have.

SPEAKER_03

Your ears. Your balance.

SPEAKER_02

I didn't, I guess you got like inner ear. I don't know. That's that's pretty cool. God's creation is amazing. He made us fearfully, wonderfully in his image. But people, they're gonna be using their ears today to keep their balance, but also to hear the sounds of happy birthday because it's the birthday, Lucy Watt and Hannah Steverson.

SPEAKER_01

Your birthday was this weekend, and then today, Lord David and Raya Xley. Happy birthday to you.

SPEAKER_02

Love it up. Happy birthday song to it. It's your birthday. God gave you life. Alright, now we have everybody's favorite monkey. We have Bible with Mick.

SPEAKER_00

Good morning, Mr. Allen. Yesterday at church, we talked about how Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey since it was Palm Sunday. If you could ride any animal in the world, what would you want to ride?

SPEAKER_02

Ooh, that's a good question. I've ridden uh an elephant and a camel, but if I could pick one, it would be like a giant eagle.

SPEAKER_00

Oh, that'd be impressive. You have a donkey, don't you? Have you ever rode him?

SPEAKER_02

No, that's Betsy. It's a herd, and she's a little skittish. We're still trying to warm her up to us. So right now, if you get behind her, she'll kick you.

SPEAKER_00

I feel like riding a donkey might be a little awkward. They aren't graceful or intimidating. They're kind of short and well that I would think that Jesus would have looked much more impressive if he rode on an eagle, like you said, Mr. Holland. But Jesus wasn't trying to look impressive. He was showing humility, riding a meek and lowly donkey as a sign of the anointed king coming in peace. First Kings 1:33 to 34 says, And the king said to them, Take with you your servants of the Lord and have Solomon my son ride on my own mule and bring him down to Gian. And let Zadek the priest and Nathan the prophet there anoint him king over Israel. Then blow the trumpet and say, Long live King Solomon. King David starts a symbol for his son Solomon. And later Zechariah 9 9 prophesies about a new king that's coming. He says, Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion, shout aloud, O daughter of Jerusalem, behold, your king is coming to you. Righteous and having salvation is he, humble and mounted on a donkey, on a colt, the fool of a donkey. And the Sunday before Jesus' death, Jesus rides a colt to fulfill that prophecy. Jesus is the King of kings, the Prince of Peace, and so humble that he made himself lower than the angels for a time, so that he could bring us true peace.

What a blessing. This week, in our deep thoughts verses, we're gonna be talking about self-control. It's so important to have. So this week's verse is from Galatians 5, 22 through 23. It says, But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law. This gift, this fruit of self-control, is something that God gives as a gift to us. And it protects us. It protects us from harming ourselves, it protects us from harming others, it trains us to love what is right and to hate what is ugly. Because if we're left to our own devices, whatever we feel in a moment, we'll do. It's like if you have a if you have a thought, and as soon as the thought pops in your head, you just do it, you're gonna do some things that are gonna hurt you. You're gonna do some things that hurt others. But God said, don't do that. Listen, I'm sending my spirit to you, and one of the things that He's going to bring to you. And one of those things that you should cultivate is self-control to say, okay, I've had a thought, I had a feeling, I had an emotion. Maybe I was sad or I was angry or scared, or I wanted to draw attention to myself or do something silly. And self-control says, hey, let's stop. Let's hold that action that I feel like I want to do. And let's hold that up to what's true. What's good, what's beautiful. And if it's not those things, I'm gonna make a different choice. I don't have to do whatever I feel. And that's so important because our feelings, they're usually lying to us. They're usually not true. And so we have to really be careful with how we feel and then how we should act. So let's pray that the Lord sends a spirit to us and gives us self-control. Heavenly Father. Lord, please bless us. Bless us with self-control. Lord, just because we feel something, Lord, sometimes we want to do it and that's living out of our sin. But Lord, give us your spirit. Help us to stop. Help us to think before we say something, before we do something. Help us to hold that up to your truth that you've shared with us so graciously in your word. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, history, spelling, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
