Welcome to the night show except in the morning radio edition where we're coming at you sort of live and kind of on your radio each and every morning. It's Thursday, April 30th, 2026. And we have an incredible show for you today. We have announcements. Bye with me. And a whole lot more. Flip those seat belts and don't touch that dial. Because remember, today is gonna be a great day. Let's kick it off with some announcements. Second grade class 2B is on a field trip to Oak Hill School in Jonesboro. That's all we have for today. That's that's pretty simple announcements, but if you're in 2B, that's a big day. But now it's time for the dicey section of the show. We have weather with Rick.

SPEAKER_01

Allen, what do you say if you've lost 25% of your roof? I don't know. Oof.

SPEAKER_03

Oh man!

SPEAKER_02

That's a spelling joke. If you spell roof, do the math. There it is. Now it's time for the most educational part of the show we have.

SPEAKER_03

Weird science effects. Slowly wander over time.

That's pretty fascinating. You know the whole magnet earth thing is fascinating. It is really I don't know who figured that out. Like who was like, oh, I think that it's magnetic up there. But someone did, and they are fascinating. But people that are gonna have magnetic energy all day long because it's their birthday! Teresa, Gary, Luke Sverson, and Kyle Phillips. It's your birthday. Happy birthday. Look it up. Sing a song, do a dance. Happy birthday gave you life. What a blessing. What a great day for a birthday. But now it's time for everybody's favorite monkey. We have Bible with Mick.

Good morning, Mr. Allen. I have been playing around in the kitchen and I saw this cornstarch. I added a little bit of water to it and it makes it really hard. I can stab my spoon into it and it's really hard. But I noticed something really interesting. I laid the spoon on top and I went to go clean up my mess I made. And when I came back, my spoon was gone. I looked around the sides of the jar I had used, and there it was. It sank down into it. Noted something so hard, allowed something so light to sink into it. So I tried to pull the spoon out with my hand, and the spoon closed. I started to panic a little bit. But then when I relaxed, the corn starch in the water felt different. It was liquid again. I was able to gently remove my hand and the spoon from the jar. That just blows my mind. I realized that with a lot of force, the corn grains squeezed the water away from them, making it really tough. But with a little force, the water moves back and forth between the corn grains and allows them to easily move around like a liquid. It's basically quicksand. Quicksand is dangerous because it looks solid, but if you try to walk on it, you'll fall. Temptation is like that. Satan makes sin look like a lot of fun. Or he makes us think we'll look cool and get lots of attention. But temptation is nothing more than quicksand. And when you get too close, you will fall into it. 1 Corinthians 10 13 says, No temptation is overtaking you that is not common to man. God is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond your ability. But with the temptation, he will also provide the way of escape that you may be able to endure. When I went to grab my spoon and got my hands stuck, I didn't know how I was gonna get out. God makes a way for you to escape. You just had to be still in order to see it.

That's a great That's a great reminder. You know, this week we're talking about work in our deep thoughts verses. Today's Deep Thoughts Verse is 1 Thessalonians 4 11 through 12. It says, And aspire to live quietly and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands as we instructed you, so that you may walk properly before outsiders, and dependent on no one. What a What a great goal. It's kind of the opposite of what the world says. The world says, you know, put yourself out there and be a big deal and find a get-rich quick scheme. And draw all the attention to yourself that you can. But the Bible says differently. It says aspire to live quietly. Mind your own affairs. You know, there's lots of people that want to get into everybody else's business. And the the secret of that is people that like to get in everyone else's business, it's usually because their own affairs are a mess. And they don't want to deal with their own affairs, they want to get in everybody else's business, so they don't have to reflect upon themselves. And God knows that's a temptation that we can have. And so we want to mind to our own affairs. Work with our hands. It's like there's not a get rich quick scheme of working with your hands, but working with your hands is great. Do a great job. Work hard. And we don't want to be dependent upon others. We want to be dependent upon the Lord, for sure. But if we're dependent upon other people, then they can control us. And we want to be only controlled by the Lord. So all these things are kind of opposite of what the world says. The world wants you to be dependent upon the government. They want you to be really loud, they want you to find a get-rich quick scheme, and then put it on social media and draw as much attention to yourself as possible. And God just says that's the opposite. But what peace comes from what God calls us to do? So let's pray that we can have the wisdom to seek these things. Heavenly Father, help us to live quietly. Lord, help us to mind our own business. Work with our hands. And be dependent only upon you. But Lord, in our flesh, we'll do the opposite of this. The world calls us and says, be the opposite of all these things, but your wisdom is greater. Help us to trust in that and help us to pursue that. It's in Jesus' name we pray. Amen. Alright, you have an incredible day ahead of you today. You have Bible, science, spelling, history, English, social studies, and a whole lot more. But remember, today is gonna be a great day.
